Oh those lovely noisy birds gathered the information and not long after got to log the cache And then the rain started againThanks a lot for the nice multi!
Found with Gazania Rigens and Wombatwandering. A satisfying little multi admiring the avian beauties (but not so much the raucous screeching of some of them) before a relaxing final. What a great day to be in these wonderful gardens!TFTC
The scarlet macaw was making a lot of noise when we walked around the aviaries to collect the info for this multi. No keas were seen, but lots of other colourful birds and flowers. The numbers were all found easily and we were happy to see that the final wasn't too far away. FP and TFTC!
Im yet to see a kea during this trip to New Zealand although Ive interacted with them a fair bit in the past. I love their antics, mostly because Im yet to be their victim! We found the answers and then it was off to GZ for a good find. Ground with Gazania Rigens and Zouavesauvage. Thanks!
A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in last Saturday after a bit of a delay.Have been at Mega central Dunedin for a couple of days now and Im loving the place. So Day 9 of my Mega NZ trip begins and I have teamed up with Roaming Howie again and it was decided to head to the city to find what we could and to locate a couple of the oldies. The weather was a little bit better today so it was more enjoyable. After heading back to the airport (to pick up one that we missed yesterday) we started making our way back for a few caches and challenges along the way.We made our way to the Botanical Gardens and after finding the oldie we made our way to the aviary for a walk around.Plenty of noise happening coming from the cages and I remember my interaction with the Keas a few years ago on the bus stopped at the tunnel waiting to go to Milford Sound. We walked around gathered what was needed and soon made the find. Thanks Natalie247 TFTMC.
Vielen Dank Natalie247 fr "The Green Kea II".______________________________With my guesthouse, I had not only chosen a very nice place to stay, but the location was also excellent. So on my first full day in Dunedin, I strolled straight to the Botanical Gardens. It wasn't just the garden itself that attracted me, which I had fond memories of from my last visit. No, on my last visit 8 years ago I had no sense of old caches. So I had completely overlooked the fact that there was an important old treasure to visit here. So in a double sense: let's go to the Botanical Gardens! But of course it wasn't just the oldie that was waiting for me. A colourful sea of flowers with rhododendron bushes, azaleas and many other plants, beautifully garnished with a couple of geocaches in or near the garden, awaited me. Many thanks to Natalie247 for The Green Kea II.
Found with NZDi on our southern adventure heading towards the Geo Toroa. Our schedule didn't have us arriving in Dunedin until Thursday, but a quicker than expected trip through The Catlins meant we are here earlier than expected. Today is our 41st wedding anniversary, so we started the day off with breakfast at the Vogel Street Cafe which we totally recommend. After that NZDi wanted to visit the Botanical Gardens and while there we limited ourselves to an Ad Lab and this multi. An interesting tour through the aviary which some of the birds were extremely vocal. The cache was in good condition and was a quick easy find just where our calculations said it would be.TFTC Natalie247
We had fun while solving this one. One of the birds even said "Hello". Thanks for the cache!
Getting to meet the birds was amazing. TFTC. The Australian Border sign clue is outdated though .
The cache is super cool, it seems like the Australian sign has been renewed so the clue doesnt really work but you can find it through subtraction. Super fun tftc
What an awesome bit of kit for the birds, loved it. Also had issues with the Aussie Border sign, but worked backwards with the other bits I had and had the answer in hand. Cheers
Couldnt get latitude right from the Australian Border sign process of elimination led me to the GZ, no space in log, left my name on a wee scrap of paper! TFTC

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today we had until late afternoon to go geocaching in Dunedin. We then took the bus to Cromewell. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. We had a great time in Australia and New Zealand and looked at many sights. Today we looked at Dunedin and discovered many beautiful sights and details through geocaching.?? Seventh day in New Zealand ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary country and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. After a stopover in Qatar and 8 days in Australia, our journey continued from Auckland to Queenstown with various stopovers.**We still had enough time for a few caches before we left Dunedin this afternoon. The main target were the old ones from 2000, but of course there was plenty of by-catch. GCB2 led us here. As I love multis, we took the opportunity to follow the individual stations. We had the pleasure of admiring the bird life in the aviaries. The required values were noted down and the final calculated. We must have made a mistake, however, because we were looking in the wrong place at first. As there was no seating to be seen here, we looked for it in a plausible place and found the container ??. Now our names are also in this logbook.**Thanks for laying & taking care .Siebter Tag in Neuseeland ??.

We have traveled with 36 likeminded geocachers to Australia and New Zealand resulting in lots of opportunities for sightseeing and geocaching. The logbooks were mostly signed under the teamname "Team DownUnder24" and answers were sent to owners for the group, as appropriate. This has been a great trip with a multifold of new impressions and experiences. This cache was today among our finds. Thanks for leading us here and thanks for the cache.
Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia and New Zealand for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar .We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien und Neuseeland .

A group of 38 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland - Team Downunder24 - are traveling for 22 days from Frankfurt/Main via Doha to Australia and New Zealand. I was able to discover many wonderful things and irretrievable experiences are burned into my memory. Today we had until the afternoon to visit a few important caches in Dunedin and continue to look at the beautiful city. We were mainly out and about in the beautiful botanical garden, but despite strong winds and a few rain showers, there was still time for one or two caches. This one was there too. Thanks to Natalie247 for the cache, luring and caring for it - kind regards from Switzerland

After arriving in New Zealand we (Team Downunder24) discovered the beautiful island ??????? also by looking for some caches. ??"The Green Kea II (Dunedin)" was one of them. We could find the needed informations and at the end the final box too. ?? All was in good condition. We enjoyed our stay in the park. Thanks Natalie247??
Not sure the birds were happy I was lurking around. Were making quite a racket. Some stunning birds, lovely to see them but not sure I like to see them caged. TFTM
Woah very nifty. Log book needs urgently replaced though, I just filled in the last slot haha. Can always never help but feel very sad for the birds though. Thank you.
The children enjoyed our visit to the aviary today, especially the kaka that flew over to check us out. A few changes here since we last visited, with a number of the spaces now being used for breeding and rehabilitation of wild birds. Thanks for this multi to add a challenge to our visit!
Visiting the South Island via cruise ship. Decided to skip tours to get some hiking in. Went around the aviary gathering the information. The birds were beautiful!! With information at hand I found bench to rest. Signed the log and moved on. Thanks to Natalie247 for this cache.
Today was our last day of our week-long adventure packed holiday in Dunedin and we decided to spend the afternoon in the Botanic Gardens as we'd never been before. We parked up and immediately discovered these amazing and unexpected aviaries. I noticed this multi and found the answers while we were looking at the birds. I'd got all the answers but not yet calculated the final coords when junior cacher got a bleeding nose. He found a seat and while we waited for his nose to stop bleeding, I worked out the coords and found that I was 0m away. That has never happened before! TFTC, we loved the birds!
I'm visiting New Zealand for a tour around the country . I have already visited many places on the North Island and on the South Island. Now I'm staying in Dunedin for some days. Sod said hello over and over at me, and roared at me as I wandered off. In the early evening the birds are quite active
I loved this. Saw the birds, learnt some things about them, and was a relatively easy but not too easy scavenger hunt for information.
I needed a multi dot-day cache today and decided that this fitted the bill.
It was a nice wee walk around the Aviary. Even though I got adifferent checksum total I managed to locate and sign the cache.
Cheers for the cache.

One of our last caches before heading back to the airport. GeohoundandI wanted to see all of the birds, and we loved watching the kea interacting with the staff checking the enclosure. A nice and easy multi to solve and find.

I’m not a bird fan so was unsure about this one, but have to say it was really great! The birds are amazing, I was quite in awe of them. Mr Juju loved it because I usually dodge Aviaries! A great multi for us TFTC
November is a busy month in most people's lives, second only to December I suspect. Teachers are very busy at this time as we begin assessing and writing school reports.
This probably explains why we have so many dot days in November and December! So the mission this year is to beat the COVID blues and the report writing mania by taking time out to fill dot days in the evenings.
Was getting late in the day and we needed a find for our 31 day streak. This cache seemed to fit the bill (no pun intended). Didn't take long and had a delightful experience visiting the birds on a hot summer evening.

A nice amble looking at the birds. A couple of typos in the clues but nothing bad. I left Pengi in the van. He was bitten in the beak by a kea a few years ago so gets a bit nervous.
Thanks for the cache Natalie247. Enjoyed a wander around the parrots up here in the gardens this morning before heading meet my daughter for coffee and head back south.

On our first day in Dunedin we went to the garden, and collected all but one WP. Today, we came back to look for the Kiwi Guardian post, and we found the last WP, a quick maths calculation and we had coords. At GZ, this was a mission for little cacher, the expert in this type of hide. he quickly grabbed the container, which was in good condition, as the logbook, and returned it to its location. Then off for the Post, which we found after going all around again. Thanks for this nice multi that takes us all around the aviary!

It is strongly recommend that whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces and geocaching should not be done at this time; https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/New+Zealand
To remove temptation, I am disabling this cache and ask kindly that you do not find this cache during lockdown.
Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. Or if you live near a multi you can walk the trail and save the find for another day. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.

As the country enters a 4 week lockdown, it is strongly recommend that Whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces.... to remove temptation in urban area I am disabling this cache. Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.
Stay home, stay safe and save lives.
Please note this area needs to be safe for keepers, so as tempting as it is, don’t come visit the birds,

The Logsheet ist now full and must bei changed.

Round the world trip Made it to New Zealand and will be traveling all around the Islands. On my way along the eastcoast I’ll be exploring Dunedin. I am impressed by all the beautiful birds! A good decision to come here!
Thanks for bringing up this cache!

As the Kea is a firm favourite of the muggle I am travelling with, this cache was a must do. We approached from down the hill though so weren't collecting the information in the proscribed order, but neither of us minded the doubling back as it gave an excuse to revisit some of the inhabitants.
Lots to admire here and information to absorb, and we also basked in the sunshine, then taking advantage of the shade.
Found the final in a secluded spot and then made the descent back to the car to go in search of dinner.
Thank you Natalie247 for placing & maintaining this cache.

First cache while exploring the botanical gardens. All answers were good to find as the cache was.

Loved wandering around the aviary this afternoon, the cheeky Kia’s were a highlight, as was Sid who was trying to burrow out of his enclosure- one clever parakeet! By coincidence, I sat on the very bench which my coordinates led me to to work out this multi! Very satisfying.
Quite enjoyed this cache. Some fasanting birds as well as a lovely day. Didn't realise that there were way points for the plaques so it was a bit trickier. Fav point from me.

Nice walk around while learning some new information about the gardens and seeing the birds. Stopped to do some of the other geos too but made this our last one as it was raining heavily and getting dark. TFTC
I decided to do this shorter multi before starting on the longer ones around the gardens. Wandered up and down collecting the numbers then off for a nice quick find. I was a bit lucky because as I approached GZ from one direction a family approached from another heading for the same spot. I claimed it first so they moved on. TFTC # 13,575
Quickly found the clues and then nabbed the final cache. Thanks for placing this!
#3966 Natalie give me ride to the Botanical garden and I decided to do her multi which was very pleasant to do. I saw many nice parrots and after easy counting I found final cache. Thanks for the cache, greetings from Czech Republic.
We found this geocache during our New Zealand trip. This was one of the last places we wanted to visit in Dunedin. We wanted to meet some native birds such as the kaka and kea. We were impressed by the size of both birds. All info for the multi was collected easily and the stash even so. Thanks for this multi!
Beautiful and relaxing walk through the garden, also visiting the aviary. The colibri was found quickly

We were spending the afternoon at the Botanical Gardens and enjoyed seeing the colourful birds in the aviary. Some appeared very shy but one Sulphur Crested Cockatoo in particular was very friendly.
We gathered the information needed and found the cache soon after. All is well here.

I came to the Upper Gardens yesterday and found some of the info for some other Multis, bit not this one. Returned today & enjoyed the amble. Nobody around near GZ.
Thanks for this well thought out Multi, Natalie247.

**This was 1 of 18 caches that was found by me on the 5th of 19 days in New Zealand.**
**Which also was the 58th of 75 days that my travels thru southeast Asia and Oceania would last.**
As I needed an multi cache on this date this seemed to be an good choose as I already was in the garden for GCB2.
I remember that I had some of the waypoints. But after walking around all the necessary numbers had been collected. And an visit to the Kea cage was also included.
*During 19 days I traveled from Christchurch to Auckland in an SUV, that i also slept in during most of the nights. 5.956 km of driving did it take to visit the 351 caches that I have marked as found in c:geo.*
*Earthcaches was my main focus during the stay. And I manage to visit 106 of them. So New Zealand is right now the only country where earthcaches are my most found cache type .*
