Out today to grab a few caches to continue my personal challenge that I have set for myself. I had to head over to Holland Park way for an errand, so while I was here I decided to grab a few quick local caches in between showers. There were a couple of fun ones and one that took a little looking. Then the memorable one of me, face to face with a sleeping possum.
This was my second find and one that took a little while to find. While I was looking for a larger container, but it seems it may have been replaced with a smaller container. At first, I went searching around a place where I thought it would be and nothing. Ok a check on the gps and it had me over there, nothing a scratch around and still nothing ok this is going to take some thinking. I started to read some previous logs and something grabbed my attention. Ok, I went and stood next to the timber fence to hide from anyone watching and scanned around. OMG, I spied the cache, I must have put my hand right next to it at my first look. This time I was on the other side and it stood out, lol. The log was a little damp but I was still able to sign. I replaced all as found and continued to my next one in the area. Thanks for the fun here.

Searched for a while but couldn’t locate. Will be back since we don’t like to be beaten by a well hidden cache
I came over this way today to find a particular cache for a challenge and this one was nearby. I parked around the corner as the suggested parking was a distance away and using the co-ordinates from other finders, found the cache fairly easily. Though I started by looking in the bushier tree first. Tftc
A little bit away from the co ordinates and not what I was looking for. Soon spotted a familiar container. TFTC
Found this one a bit further away from the given coordinates tucked nicely away. Find # 1152. Thanks Fitzengruben
After work i decided to pick up a few smileys. I decided to read some previous logs before i looked for this cache and used Roddy C coords and at GZ a magpie was following me around and after a few laps we spotted this cache. Nice park . Thankyou for taking me here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy.
Even with different coords, my dodgy gps had me looking in the wrong spot. Eventually spotted the sneaky cache.
Thanks for the cache Fitzengruben

Coordinates are off according to previous posts and I'm unsure how to recalibrate.
After visiting another cache nearby, thought I would have another go at finding this cache. I visited this cache in May 2016 but couldn't find it. A PAF told me what to look for but never got the chance to go back.
Today, I arrived at GZ and realised that the original GZ would be in full view of the neighbours so used the coords given in a previous log to narrow my find. Looked all around and couldn't see anything like what I expected. Surveyed the area and spied the little cache - no longer what was originally here. Still a find anyway. SL then returned as found.

Found this after reading some of the logs. I felt for sure that it would not be hidden in plain sight of the house with the glass pool fence. Great hide. TFTC.
Find #402
Find #402
Found it with the help of others coordinates, but the gps was jumping around a bit. TFTC
Started the search with no luck and after scrolling through the previous logs I managed to get another set of co-ords, these put me in a spot that I was able to spy the hide straightaway. TFTC Fitzengruben
Today, I was out with Mr CuriousQuest, finding some caches and adventure labs. Last cache of the day. Mr Curious Quest made a quick find. We added pur names to the log, then continued on our way. TFTC
The cache was located after a quick seach and our names added to the log. TFTC,
Woo! Our first Cache!
Such a neat little spot once we adjusted the coordinates.
Cheers

Followed the GPS To GZ and thought “this can’t be right”... moved away, read some previous logs, entered the corrected co-ordinates from RoddyC and soon after had the cache in hand... made my mark on one of the pieces of log and returned as found... tftc...
The amended co-ordinates are .016 and .502

Cache was found, lost, and found again - good thing the neighbours weren’t home! Tftc
After seeing someone else find this after our DNF, we came to give it another shot. Found it this time, but GPS is quite a bit off. Definitely not what we were expecting either! Happy that it wasn't right in front of the muggle's yard. TFTC!
Second try around not what we were expecting at all coordinates were a bit of glad we didn’t have to search in front the pool. TFTC
We had a decent search around but it was hard as it was getting dark and there was some muggles in their backyard we had to be careful of. We may come back at another time when it’s a bit lighter and maybe we’ll have more luck.
I've had this one in my sights for a while. Others recommended going late Sunday so the geoterrier and I visited the dog park and then walked up to GZ. People were frolicking in the pool but we were able to circle GZ a few times without too much trouble.
Worth doing the research on this one because the coordinates were the ones recommended by others rather than the posted ones.
Cheers, Fitzengruben.

Headed south early to try and find a few caches before the big gaseous ball in the sky made outdoor activities unpleasant. Been here previously without success. Coords from RoddyC made for an easy find this time with no chicken scratching required.

Thanks for bring us to this area. It is a little pocket of Brisbane we had never explored. On arrival, we also felt uncomfortable being so close to the clear swimming pool but thankfully it was deserted and having read the previous logs, we knew we did not have to search directly in front of the pool. However, we did have a bit of a look there before moving sideways and spying the container in a more private spot. With the log signed and safely replaced, we enjoyed taking in the sights of the local area.
Thanks for placing it.

Slipped away from a kids party to find this one. Like others I found the Perspex pool fence with the owner cleaning it and used the alternative coordinates. Soon had the cache in hand.
I'm currently recovering from surgery on my dominant hand, so please accept this stamp of a unicorn as an alternative to a date and name. And please log around it so I feel less bad about taking up so much room!

Chasing down a few caches to finish the 'Mystery at the Museum' & we decided to head towards & along the Brisbane River & take in the views as well.
#1 of 15 caches found today.
Arrived at GZ & wondered at the thinking behind putting a cache alongside a clear pool fence?
Apparently the fence is an upgrade on the old closed in fence that used to be.
Luckily the co-ordinates were out by several metres & the cache was found a little further afield.
As this is a traditional can the CO please update the co-ordinates for the benefit of future searchers?
The cache was eventually found at S27° 31.015 E153° 02.502
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Walking up to GZ, I was a bit worried about the location. This is a voyeur’s paradise if you’re into spying on people swimming in their pool. That would actually be quite tame based on some of the web sites I’ve accidentally found myself on after a few wines. Even without the wines I find myself on the same web sites.
Having done a few front yard caches yesterday I wasn’t all that phased but Mrs Woodyrothwell was on tender-hooks. I’ve been waiting to actually find a cache that is in someone’s lounge room. We stepped away a bit to read some old logs.
We took note of some of the coordinates supplied by others and replotted our search area. This felt a bit better to search in although not as risqué, and I like risqué. This time we were on to the cache quickly and with no one swimming to ogle we were on our way. tftc

Spotted this one quite quickly, I drive past here all the time and on this lovely Sunday I was able to stop in and turn it to a smiley. Tftc
Couldn’t find anything, ventured to posted coords in logs but still nothing.
Ok, used my head and thanks to the modified coordinates hint, took me straight there. Too exposed and suspicious with the glass wall there to be trolloping around the place.
25/5/19 2:31 pm Find #2516
My second cache today on a taxiing jaunt for one of my children today. Killing a little time before I had to collect said child, I decided t grab some caches nearby.
Parking down the street opposite, I took a short stroll across the road to GZ. Took a little to find this cache. Definitely use previous finder's coords so as not to be close to the house with the pool and clear Perspex fence. Also, the cache is smaller than expected and not the novelty cache the description and sizing on cache page suggests, which threw me off the hide for a while.
Thanks for the cache Fitzengruben.

OMG. I judged this book by its cover lulled into a false sense of security as it seemed to be a library. If I'd thought I was looking for this book in a rummage sale I'd have found it quicker. Many attempts but found it quite quickly with adjusted coordinates that don't leave you so exposed. TFTC. A satisfying detour.
The new glass pool fence next door made me feel really exposed. Luckily the skies whee grey. Logged and returned as found
Thank you for hiding this cache Fitzengruben

As noted by the previous finder, the log is saturated and disintegrates when one tries to unroll it. Forgot to bring a replacement today - sorry. The boys both saw it, and James recovered the sodden log for me today. We were just out of sight of a gent working next to the nearby back fence. TFTC.
Previous visit was at night when first published and no joy then. No surprise today as it was found about 15m from posted coords. Expanded search area and daylight made the find today.
It's a micro, not small and no novelty in a bison. The log sheet is wet, pulpy and mouldy so would need replacing asap. Didn't have anything on me today to do so.
Sat both phones in the tree while I had a bit of a look around. One said the last 3 digits of the South were
.015, the other said
.016. East coords same as posted.

Out for a few hours caching with RoddyC. We spent quite some time here searching in every conceivable place, moving mulch around & reading past logs. Finally found a log which gave some alternate coords (thanks teamtinda) & although it looked like the cache had been moved since then it was worth a look. After a little more searching finally found the cache near the alternate coords & it didn't require any mulch to be moved. Very glad to have a smilie & be able to move on from this cache.

We came across your cache, Fitzengruben, on a caching day with KerryMg.
Well that was not where we expected it to be. 016 and 502 worked better for me.
Nor was it what we expected it to be. All I can say is scrub turkeys not employed.
Log signed and cache replaced at 12:48 PM on August 23, 2018. TFTC.

Finally got it. Lid wasn’t screwed on and log is a sodden mess. Signed it as best I could without log disintegrating. Thanks for the cache
With a hint from a previous finder, I came back for another look. Dug out all the thick mulch around all three grass bushes but still couldn't find it
Well, this is one of those caches where you are either lucky, or search forever or DNF. No hint, the name in no relation to the hide and thousands of hiding options around.
I was lucky!
I was lucky!
We spent a while looking here this evening to no avail, albeit in the dark. It must be said that a number of the CO's caches seem to follow a similar theme; fairly busy areas with apparently inaccurate cache coords mentioned by many finders in the comments, relatively low difficulty rating and no hint. With a 15 metre search zone including multiple trees, several shrubs and a fence next to an very busy bikeway the CO really needs to make sure the coords are perfect, and/or offer some kind of hint. With previous comments taken into account we didn't even know what size we were looking for! As previous finders have mentioned, the garden is getting destroyed.
I’m guessing this is buried under the neighbours grass clippings somewhere and, after reading the logs, I’m not much inclined to check
Man i am glad to find this one. Never need i search again. Found by accident after stomping again in a public garden. Turned around and hey!
Not what i was told to look for. Or where. Or the size. Even the cache title doesn't have relevance anymore.
Cache nemesis. You are mine.

The description says it’s a medium novelty container; it’s not. Much smaller, in fact. Also, coordinates had us at 8m from GZ, though it’s possible it could’ve been our network. Squirrellette was in the zone and spotted this one after about 5 minutes of searching - she really is awesome!
Thank you CO for the cache. It was satisfying too to know that we had found a cache that has gone almost 3 months since its last find.

checked today, has been moved from original spot, however still within 5m of original GZ.
Out and about in the area this morning finding a few caches before making my way to Toowoomba.
I parked the car not too far away and the showers stopped just long enough for me to make my way to GZ and then groaned.
New mulch everywhere. To stop cachers digging up the mulch you will need to have a specific hint. If not the garden will be destroyed by searchers. I have seen this happen many times. A sad story but true.

I see that the CO has checked on this recently. Too well hidden for me to find today.
Came back armed with specific info from a previous finder but no sign of a cache. A photo suggests that shrubs and a stump have been removed and the garden bed is deep in mulch.
Even if it’s here it’s well buried which is out of scope for geocaching hides. Can the CO check plz?

No. Looked didnt find. Got frustrated. Sat back rethunk, tried again. No. Left for some other ones and pafed away. Got some pretty explicit directions. Came back. Looked again while feeling uncomfortable. No. Just no. Not trudging in a garden looking under mulch. No. Wtf no. Not until its moved or someone pushes me at it. No.No.. Am i angry? Yes!
Looked around for a while...read that someone had accidentally kicked it, so figure it's on the ground somewhere? Looks like it has been freshly mulched, so hopefully it's not buried underneath
If I had read the logs before attempting to find I would have known it was a lost cause as my history of finding well comoed caches isn't great. Just hoping it isn't under the mountains of bark in that garden now.
Checked on this one on Saturday. It is still there however very well camouflaged. Additionally you do not need to tramp through the entire garden to find the cache just use your noggin to locate. Enjoy
10/7/17. Tough Mothers (4) day out visited but despite constant knocking, scratching, and digging, no one appeared.
My daughter pinkypie05 and myself searched for ages with this one but no luck. Even tried the coords suggested in a previous log. Will keep an eye on it in case I was cache blind.
After my last cranky log, a couple of geo-buddies contacted me with some tips. Thank you: I agree that I should have used a PAF rather than just get grumpy!
It turns out I must have just about stood on the cache on at least one visit and for this last trip, I actually found it by accidentally kicking it!
Well, it's all in good nick and I'm pleased to make it a smilie so TFTC. I was surprised by the stream of passers-by on a Friday arvo.
PS I reckon the coords which worked for me today were decimals 014 and 503. See what you think.

I had a hint from a previous finder, but to no avail. It can't be right, had the place changed since they were there? So I had put out another call to help. Yep it should be right there. This time, I checked the spot again and my stick revealed something a little different in colour and texture. OH! now this little fella is really really well cammoed and with the grasses and cover, its well hidden.. I think this needs a little upping on the D scale! Glad to turn this DNF into a find! TFTC Fitzengruben
Another lengthy DNF, going round and round. Not much fun. If a finder can suggest better coords, that'd be great. Thanks.
On my way home from visiting T-Tech at work, I decided to give this one another go. Armed with a handy hint, I picked the likeliest spot, but it still took me a few goes to reveal the little fellow. TFTC, Fitzengruben.
