We’re spending the weekend in the Foxton area in our recently acquired motorhome. Located a few caches today, mostly in or near Foxton Beach. This was one of three we found whilst out on a bike ride. Had a quick wander in the direction of the beach at this point. Good to see the sea but we didn’t go all the way there because it was very windy and not particularly pleasant at the time. Found the cache without much difficulty. Struggled to sign the logbook as it was rather waterlogged! #3514. TFTC.
A lovely big container and a straightforward find but the lid as a split. Heavy rain has left the notebook soggy . Sorry I had nothing to replace it. Tftc though. It was breezy , on a hill and with only me for company.
Container needs replacing a split in thr lid is lettin water in. Everything very wet.
Found easily.but full of water. Log soaked and hard to write on. Placed back but on side in the hope it wont fill up again.
We've travelled up from Invercargill to take a break from reality and to use up some credit from another getaway we'd planned which fell through due to Covid 19. Cache was quickly found after checking out for the morning, however the container is full of scummy green water and the log is swimming. Could not sign. Definitely needs replacing.
Left the Top 10 on foot towards the surf club. An enjoyable beach walk, one dnf, one required tools i didn't have, and this one was going for a mid winter swim. Didn't even take lid off.
The Etherlord Clan are on a family outing to Foxton Beach.
We laughed, swam, played, ate sandwiches with sand in them, got sunburnt, had an ice cream, and found a geocache!
(well, it'd be rude not to while outside of our normal cache catchment area...)
I'd been hoping to try for the nearby Large cache - SANDYS TREASURE MAP - to help towards my qualification of [@TwigNZ](http://coord.info/PRPHK6E)'s "The MEGA hungry Cacherpillar Challenge", but after EtherGirl saw a school friend and invited herself along to the "Little Nippers" Junior Surf Education program, which finished too late for us to attempt the pirate cache, we had to resort to one on the way home.
And this one was the lucky winner!
It was found quickly enough, however there is a crack in the lid which has resulted in the previous logs of the logbook being sodden (even though it's in a zip-lock bag).
I dried the cache out as much as I could, but there's not much I could do for the log...
Thanks for the placement.

This was almost the best cache I found today, The size is as-advertised, it's well placed and properly labelled (every other cache failed on one or more of those criteria) . A model example really. The only problem was the log was a totally saturated and unsignable. So I took of picture of the clearly visible ident. Thanks for bringing me here, and for the cache.
My two little sister came with me my littlest sister swapped some treasure. It was fun and now my two little sisters want to start caching with me. TFTC
On a roll today - number 4 while out on a bike ride exploring Foxton Beach. Still afloat but but managed to sign log.
Wow!! I have never found a cache this full of water!!
It was so full I got to thinking maybe it was designed that way It is a beachside cache after-all ...maybe there was a tsunami??
So I didn't empty the water for once, and did my best to sign the log.
Thanks for placing this cache Hope others enjoy it as much as I did!

A reasonably straight forward find with glimpses of the sea which was cool . The cache container lid is cracked slightly so cache was full of water when discovered. I emptied the water and signed the soaked log.

Took a little bit of searching but in the end it was obvious. Thank you for a good sized cache, took painted rock left 2 small toys
Parked the car here and decided to get the Foxton caches by foot. Straightforward find. TFTC
We drove down from Whakatane today. Checked in to our Air BnB, had a swim and then hopped onto the e-bikes for an evenings exploration.
This was our first find for the day.
A not so quick find. The GPS was wandering a bit.

Came to Foxton Beach to the pump track with the kids and needed a swim afterwards on a very hot summer day, this was on our way to the beach and we found it very quickly, TFTC
I had fun with this one with my mum. After we finally made our way out of the dunes which were very tall, i tried to spill the contents of this all over the ground although mum talked me out of it. I took a purple star!
Drove up from Welly to attends Rattll's Xmas BBQ 2018 event in the weekend. Took a chance and booked a place around the corner at Foxton Beach. Could not have been happier staying here with Gr33nslime and DangerSAM. Great little place for a quiet night or two. DangerSAM enjoyed hanging out at the beach and we all had a good time looking for some caches. This one was an easy find and aside from the one neighbours batch lounge window that looks directly at you it was a nifty little place for a stash. A good sized little cache at that which was appreciated.
# 1219 In this part of town for the annual rattl BBQ and we used foxton beach as our staging point! What a nice place. We stayed within 50 m of this cache so it would have been silly not to have fetched it. We came from the beach side after doing a loop and was actually happy I had the gps with this one loaded as it helped me find my way through the dunes. Felt real bad for each plant I stepped on but they should really mark the beach exits better
In any case dangerSAM enjoyed trawling through the goodies in this large cache. Had to convince him strongly that tipping them all out would not be a good idea. In the end he settled on a wee purple star Thanks em Jay for this decent sized cache that keeps the young ones interested in the Hobbie.

Homeward bound after a very successful Mega weekend.
Left Wellington and focused on caches that we had passed on Friday with a slight detour first to collect 1 old cache that we thought would be great to collect.
Thanks to all the cache owners for the placements and to the organisers for the Mega weekend.
Looking at our finds we still have several more trips needed. SLTFTC

WENZ Mega Weekend is over... Today signals the long trek northward and home. We agreed upon stopping for a limited number of caches. But we all know what that means... With Gap (of Fap and Gap), and NZFlossy...
Monday: With beaut weather, a lot of families had made their way to the beach. There were people everywhere... We needed to make some fast finds, as our time was ticking away. Sadly, we didn't get to all of the Foxton Beach caches and will have to return one day soon... A good hide in a nice spot... TFTC.

Attending the mega with TeamBOP. Great time to catch up with other cachers and visit Wellington lLots of fun and laughs while finding lots of great caches Thanks to all the COs for providing all the caches and the work that goes into them. Sorry for the generic logs will try to add to them once back home Thanks
Overshoot the access initially and had to come back a bit. Spotted fairly quickly once approached from the right angle. A nice spot and we also liked the cache title, very apt.

Nice straight forward find for me here today. Had a sit down to take in the view while signing the log
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will get me closer to my goal
Out today grabbing some caches with the aim of getting enough caches to get the World Turtle souvenir and also getting some caches that will help with my main goal
Thanks for the Cache

One of my favourite beaches in the area. Collected the TBs with Lynnywolf. Thanks
The weather cleared by 10 this morning so we thought we'd spend mother's day at the beach with the dog.
I still have a number of TB's from an event hosted by an American, so I made a point of finding a container big enough for some TB's. The container had some water in it which we tipped out, however the log book is still dry, so we put the TB's in with that to keep them dry.
Thanks for setting this cache up emjay2245
We also left a pet rock - a snake

Needing 17 more caches to get to 250 for March for qualifying for a cache in Wairarapa we headed to Foxton where we had approximately exactly that number available. The weather was lovely and so perfect for a geocaching jaunt.
We parked and found the exact location but hubby could not find it. So I joined him and had it in no time. Not exactly nestled? Someone had been there today before us. TFTC

On my bike, thanks for bringing me to a small reserve I did not know about. Good to find a generous sized container, thanks.
2.45pm. An easy find once I decided I didn't need to go so high to see the sea.
Thank you. David.

Today started out as just me and my boy out to do a bit of casual Caching before the 'Opportunity Lights The Way' event that evening, but it was great to bump into a few fellow Cachers so this one ended up being a group find with ThatWeirdGuy04, Haydn.Seek, PJMacNz and Mr-Mcgoo. TFTC
Found with the help of TwigNZ, Haydn.seek, Yeetrees, PJMacNZ, and MrMcgoo. TFTC
We set out from Palmerston early in the afternoon and headed towards Foxton to locate some newer caches down there, maybe replace a couple that had been misssing in action for a while. and then have tea before attending the Event down there. We replaced two and found all the others we had planned to locate finally , once it was dark, to set out to attempt the night cache which we enjoyed. We met the other two cachers at one of the earlier caches and for the rest of out time in Foxton we travelled together , met up with Twig NZ and son and continued our geo caching time together finally finishing up at the Event after having tea from the Mr. Grumpy! Thank you for this cache and another smiley face.
Came up to Foxton with Yeetrees for the event and the night cache. While up here I decided to retrieve a number of caches that were outstanding for me. Ended up with a convoy of other cachers doing the rounds while they were in town for the same reason. A quiick find. TFTC
Quick find today in a nice spot, on a perfect Spring morning. Took longer than it should have because I went rushing off into the dunes when I should have trusted the GPS co-ords, which were spot on. Cache all in good order though slightly damp. Left a maritime-themed painted rock, took nothing. Thanks for the cache!
An easy find since the container was exposed. We filled out the log and replaced the container in a more secure place. My the sea breeze was cold today! TFTC emjay2245.
An audit of my logs discovered 9 caches not logged from when I was out caching in the Foxton and Horowhenua areas with Yeetrees and -gonefishing- back on July 30, 2017. The three of us had a great day out seeing the sites and collecting quite a number of caches during the day. Apologies for the late logging. Many thanks for the cache.
Found during a day out with SAROC and Yeetrees mopping up a number of caches around the coast. After all the wet weather recently, the day dawned clear and bright, just a wee chill in the morning air. All in all, a fun day's caching.
Nice spot with great views.

Enjoyed the drive around the area today.
Soon found - was sitting in the open and I am amazed it was still there, left it better hidden.

Caching at Foxton beach while the duck shooters are away. Awesome SWAG. TFTG
Decided to head down to foxton to collect some of these relatively new caches. The weather was just cloudy when I left home however on arrival in Foxton it had deteriorated to drizzle which put a damper on things.
Lucky I had my wet weather pants o. Today as moving through the wet grass would have been uncomfortable without them. Search the likely spot where the gps was pointing me but could not locate the cache so took a step back to widen my search and spotted a flash of blue not too far away. TFTC

A quick easy find with hayleyhnz, hannahhnz and hollyhnz, although we were wary of a lot of wasps around part of the rope fence. TFTC
Found my way from the sea-shore, across the dunes. I had a poke about, being aware of a police car sitting over the road. By the time I had located this it had gone- so didn't need my explanation of why i was poking around a tree.
no luck today gps got me wright beside a box-thorn bush and it was;nt there looked at other spots near by but gave up after 10 minutes looking and went back to be with the grand kids at the beach.
After finding GC70639 - Hidden in Holben (Horowhenua), this was the next cache that I had on my list that I had to find today. Was really enjoying making my way around Foxton Beach as it was still early enough that I still had the streets to myself.
As I neared GZ I was able to find a carpark at the entrance to this walkway on the corner of Mack Street and Marine Parade, then as I got out of the car I noted that the cache was just under a 100m away. Noticed that there was a geo trail going up the bank so I decided that I might as well follow it and see where it leads me, was not too surprise as it soon stopped near where I wanted to be.
Was quite surprise with the nice view near GZ and the ocean didnt look too bad at all. I checked the GPS and it said that I was within 2 metres of GZ so I decided that there wasnt too many spots that one can hide a regular cache container, and I was correct as I managed to find it very quickly in the second and most likely spot.
Opened and signed the logbook and replaced the cache back as found, thanks for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this lovely spot, TFTC TNLNSL (11774)

I was in the area doing maintenance on some of my caches. I carried on to Foxton & Foxton Beach to find some caches. Thanks emjay2245 for the cache.
Its so good to see more caches out here for us to get and visit lovely Foxton. I havn't been out here for a while, been through the township and driven through to Levin for work alot, Gives us a reason to come and enjoy the beach for a while instead of the city life all the time. Thank you for placing a cache here we signed the log and placed the cache back where we found it. TFTC emjay2245 look forward to getting more of your caches soon.
Staying in Foxton for the night and in the morning decided for a walk along the beach and back around via this cache. Nice easy find at GZ – so easy I think it may in future get muggled. Lots of trades but we just signed the log and replaced. TFTC
