We are staying at the nearby motorhome campground and we were up and about early this morning. So early that everyone else around was still sleeping. So that made an ideal opportunity to have a look for a couple of archived caches in the area.
A few months ago a cacher from Blenheim told us about the statistic in Project-gc about top archived cachers, and since then we have spent some time researching and looking for archived caches around our home area. We were parked up early last night and had internet connection so I had a wee look and was pleasantly surprised to see there were a few possibilities close to where we were.
This cache was in the first place we looked and it is excellent condition. What a great way to start the day. Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.

Found it. It’s still there. Though no TB in . Just leave it active. People can still have fun finding it. TFTC
After not being in the area ever before I was back only 7 days after I first looked for this cache. I had another look, in the same places as I had last week, and got the same result as I did last week. Then middle son came over and I was explaining to him how it was a waste of time looking as I just couldn't find it when I did find it. Took it back to the car to grab a travel tag to leave in the cache and then dropped it back off before leaving to head home so all three boys could have their names added. Will log their finds later.
Really interesting information and a nice view of the lake. Thanks for the cache.

I thought this would be an easy find but despite finding a good hiding spot I couldn't put my hand on the cache. The two girls I was watching were ready to go back to the lake edge so that was the end of the hunt. Nice area and I enjoyed reading the information board.
Revisited this cache and disappointed to see the trackable was taken and not recorded nor was their any swaps left. Sad Geocachers take without leaving swaps. Have left some for other people to enjoy
The cache is EXACTLY where it should be. Any further negative logs will be deleted
We had the great chance to travel around New Zealand during six weeks and were able to see wonderful cities, landscapes and meet nice Kiwis. While staying in NZ many cache owners gave us the opportunity to search for very well hidden treasures and we thank them very much for preparing and maintaining them.

I thought this was going to be a no goer with all the cars lined up in the car park but it turned out they were all empty which meant I was able to have a good look. Needed that too as it wasn't an instant find. The information board made interesting reading after the cache was tucked safely away again. TFTC # 11,581
Mrs Sobad seriously considered putting a cache here on our last visit to Tekapo, so we knew a lot about the Old Homestead in advance. We are staying in a cousin’s house in Tekapo and her Great grandfather used to own the homestead referred to. We decided we did not want her to have the responsibility of cache maintenance so did not leave one – which made us very happy to find one instead today. Left a trackable that has been in Nelson so we didn’t want to take it back there.
Thanks.
Thanks.
4.30pm.Beautiful day today. Returned to this area for lake and mountain photos. Completed this cache in the process. Searched most of the immediate area before locating but then found we had no pen. Retired to nearby picnic table with cache & log and attempted to make our mark with some vegetation. Thought we would also photograph the container & log to show we had indeed found it. Can you make out a green JF mark on the log?

Frankly cachers like Aljfs are what adds to my decreased pleasure with caching - you were just a rude couple when I tried to talk with you. Caching isn't a secret society. I'm glad I stopped being a premium member.

A lovely morning to call in here to find a cache with a bit of snow on the hills. The lake is quite low for the beginning of winter.
+ a marble, - nothing.

On a family touring holiday from the UK with Higster and staying nearby. As it was such a lovely day we decided to take in the scenery and grab a few caches at the same time. The good hint led to a nice quick find. A lovely spot. TFTC

Let the Adventure beginn. Calli87 goes to New Zealand and Australia!!!
New Zealand offers just so much nature and so great views, which make the stay so pleasant. We have seen so many great places together that impressed us both.
Route New Zealand: Auckland - Bay of Island - Cape Reinga - Hot Water Beach - Matamata - Rotorua - Tongariro Alpine Crossing - Turangi - Wellington - Picton - Marahau - Westport - Punakaiki - Runanga - Franz Josef Glacier - Fox Glacier - Wanaka - Queenstown - Te Anau - Milford Sound - Lumsden - Invercargill - Bluff - Curio Bay - Nugget Point - Dunedin - Mount Cook - Pukaki -Leeston - Akorua - Christchurch
Route Australia: Melbourne - Perth - Bisbane - Gold Coast - Bayron Bay - Coffs Harbour - Port Macquaire - Port Stevens - Bateau Bay -Sydney
DAY 25
Today we went with our campercan "Gandalf" to Lake Tekapo. Arrived we enjoyed the great view of the mountain and the water. The visit had already paid off. After we had arrived and eaten, I looked briefly at the map and saw this Tradi on the map. So i decide to went to them. After a short search I could find them. At GT it was calm and a short affair to found the Geocache Afterwards we went with the CM towards to the campsite.
Nach dem Signieren des Logbuches habe ich wieder alles ordentlich zusammengepackt und in sein Versteck gelegt.
Vielen Dank sagt Calli87.
