Had some time to kill in Ararat today, while Chunk was here for some appointments. So what better therapy than to go for a drive, then a lovely walk, in the surrounding bushland. Took a few minutes to find this one as the GPS was taking us to the other side of the road. TFTC jitsv318.
Stopped by this cache as I was detouring around Ararat collecting the caches I had left to find in the area.
Cache was easily found and is all in good condition.

Out after the mega event. Day 84 of our trip. Caching along the way. A total of 9 for the day and 2391 for the trip. TFTC
After finding Fire Dam cache we continued walking along that track until we reached a wider track where we turned left and had an easy walk to GZ.

After knocking over number 9 and searching in the wrong area, I finally had the cache in hand just before the rain
What else to do on Melbourne Cup day, but geocache?? Beautiful day, out in the Ararat Hills today, killing time while waiting for the grocery order to be ready. This one had us back and forth a bit also, but it's funny how quickly you get your eye 'in' when you've done a few in a row. Tftc...
Quickly spotted when changed sides of the track.
TFTC and a nice little wildflower walk here.
They are currently awesome!

it must have been a bad day for sattelites - the coords had me at the wrong side of the road. so i broadened myy search to a suspicious looking tree
A bit tricky when raining and ya dont want to get wet! lol. Thanks to Geokid and Geowife finding it from the vehicle!
We always make time to find a few caches travelling between Melbourne and Adelaide. It was great to stretch our legs in this pretty piece of Victoria where we could search for caches without concern for muggles. A quick find at GZ. Another good container! TFTC
Find #405 @ 1:19:00 PM
Doing some trails on the MTB with the fam. Cache found dry and in good condition.

Wandering in this lovely Regional Park collecting a few more caches before I head further west. I parked the geovehicle and headed off on foot. Back into The geovehicle and a short drive later had this well secreted cache in hand TFTC jts318

Final leg of an amazing trip to S.A.'s iconic Yorke Peninsula. We allowed time around Ararat, to seek out the caches, left untouched last time we were in the area.
Mining was certainly a different game in the early days. Given it's location, amazing this cache has not been muggled.
Thanks to 'jits318' for the hunt and cache placement

Found on a three day caching wander with AussieM&M!!!! We centred our searches in the Ararat area but ventured further afield when some of our planned caches were either disabled or on very slushy dirt roads. Very cold and plenty of rain ….. although we seemed to dodge the worse of it!!! Last cache in this area!! Thanks for a great series!!
This was our last find in the park today and like the rest of the series, the container and contents were in good condition and easily found.
TFTC and the series.

Half an hour of searching, about to give up, take one last random look and there it was! Several expletives later...signing the log! TFTC
About to concede defeat when experienced geo partner starts swearing, fallen down a hole? bitten by a rabbit? no lol found easy but great camo
Last one for the day and probably took me the longest. As someone previously said, when you spot it, it seems quite obvious. TFTC

This area of the Ararat Regional Park is back on the 10 day burn list.. if weather permits. We will monitor this and once the burn is over we will get the caches back online. Thanks for your patience.
Temporarily disabled due to fuel reduction burns planned for the next 10 days.
We will renable them once safe to do so!

An abundance of good hiding spots and some well-done camo made this cache a bit trickier than expected. A nice hide and good find. Inside of container is a bit wet but log is dry. TFTC!
Today I was returning from Halls Gap with some caches in Ararat, and some challenge caches near Mount Beckworth. This one took a LOT longer than it should have. I checked all around where the GPS was pointing, but when I finally found it, it was blaringly obvious.
Thanks to jits318 for the cache.

Suscoe headed out early for a big day of caching around the Ararat, Stawell, and Grampians area.
It was a beaut day compared with yesterday's chilly rain, sleet and cold.
We had a good bit of sunshine from time to time and also the occasional rainy reminders of yesterday.
We even caught up with Chooknchunk and Wozzle for a coffee and chat, the nice things that happen when we are out caching.
Thanks to jits318 for another pleasant morning out caching for us.
A favourite from us for the trail here.

Found it! Number 4 of the series for us and unfortunately on arrival at the GZ we were greeted by that all to familiar smell of dead 'something' not to far away. Stuck around only as long as it took to get the log signed and we were back into the car for quick sprint to fresher air...TFTC...
Literally a drive by cache.... If only I was looking in the right spot. I ran into The Morris here and we continued on to find some more caches together. All is well with the hide. TFTC Jits318
Off to the lovely township of Elmhurst for the Easter weekend. It was so busy we couldn't score a campsite anywhere so we camped in the backyard of a friends.
Today we headed off to the event in Ararat and had time to find a few after a leisurely coffee at the bakery. Truly a drive by!
There are lots of great caches in the area so thank you jits318

How to make Good Friday better, find a few caches with my fave peeps, MidnightPony and MuggleBoy.
Good coords, good condition, good location. Ideal weather. We walked from Main Divide Track, staying on track where possible and going off-track to dodge mine shafts, mullock heaps, butterflies and rabbits.

After getting the FTF on Main Divide -Creek we continued our journey through the Ararat Regional Park picking up the rest of the series and the bonus of 3 other caches in the company of Wozzle68.
For some unknown reason our devices had us on the wrong side of the track , searching without any luck until it was discovered we were definitely in the wrong spot oops! Once we rectified our mistake we had a good laugh, as one of us had got out of the car right beside it.
Thanks Jits318 for the cool hide.

We initially walked right past this one assuming we knew where to look, but it turned up fairly quickly
It was good to turn off the highway for a time and walk through some bush. As the vegetation was not dense, it was easy and pleasant walking. We drove further into the reserve before finding a track heading in the right direction towards this and another nearby cache. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a good cache container. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks jits318 for the cache.
Find No. 1713. Found with FUF009 at 2.40pm (I am finally getting around to logging all these caches that we found ages ago - oh well better late than never I suppose).
A long week-end so we decided to go for a caching drive with FUF009 in his new toy that he is so proud of. We ended up around Beaufort and home through Ararat caching as we went.
Wondering what FUF009 was up to when driving very close to a tree we soon realised that he had spied the cache and could get close enough to still stay in the ute and grab it from the window.

Find # 4222
Found with Tyred n Cranky
A long weekend and what better way to spend a day of it, touring around the bush in my relative new geo ute, with my parents and finding geocaches. After finding some caches near Raglan, we traveled up the Hwy to Ararat.
Not long ago we were in this area and managed a couple of FTF's. today we were just on the hunt for smileys.
Not often you can claim a smiley without leaving the car/ute. Driving up to this one I happened to spy the cache, a bit of manoeuvring and I was able to reach out the window and grab the cache.

Added the amazing ladybird pencil rubber. Took nothing. Better go to JITS318 for a cuppa thanks for introducing me to the joys of cacheing.
A nice walk around this walking track loop to collect the few caches. Thanks jits318.
Took the track the long way around from "fire dam" to get a bit of exercise for the day. Even saw resident kangaroo on our way. S FINALLY got her first FTF. So super happy. TNLS TFTC
