Out and about enjoying the hidden gems of our country. On a cool Central Otago day with no fog or frost, enjoying the new Matariki holiday. Having never been this side of the state highway, but MrF has done lots of deliveries around here so knows his way about. Enjoying the 'fruits ' of the CO labour. TFTC
On the hunt today. Trying to get all the fruit. Done with my Caching buddy. BlazeGJG. Tftc

We left Queenstown heading for Christchurch and then the West Coast, and our first stop was here in Cromwell. We stopped to get some fruit at the nearby fruit market, and then walked down to collect this cache. We never knew about the garden behind the fruit market, and it was very pretty.Very cool idea of a fruit cache trail, something Ive never seen before.TFTC from the UK.

Had a quick stop at the fruit shop so decided to look for this one which fortunately I found quickly. Log signed and returned. TFTC
Thanks RowenaD for the cache. Its #1837 for us. We found your cache on Wednesday 15 November 2023. Quick park n grab today. GPS all over place!
Nice fruity hide! We were enroute to St. Bathans for an ice swimming event, but I had to grab a cache or 2, so picked ( bahahaha, accidental pun) this fruit, as I spent the season picking persimmons to fund this trip TFTC!
G'day from Australia!!!
Stumble Trip had been in NZ for the past 6mths, working on the Milford Track. Stumble's Mate flew in to meet up with her and we spent the next 2wks traveling the beautiful South Island in a camper. Whilst the weather wasn't favourable for the first week, we had an awesome time and travelled some 3,200+kms, seeing some beautiful sites and staying in just as beautiful campsite along the way.
Thanks to all the CO. Unless otherwise stated, all caches were found in good condition.

Day 3 on our holiday in New Zealand. On the way from Twizel to Te Anau, we also visited this traditional cache, found it, and signed the logbook.

Nicely hidden. Found with MacBayMeri. Quickly signed and departed before any questions asked about being on private property. TFTC.
I wasn't sure whether to park here and search, as there was a "private property no camping", sign, but decided perhaps it was to deter overnight campers. So MrMagoo72 and I parked up briefly, headed over to find the very nice cache container, signed the log and returned as found. Very nicely done. TFTC.
A couple of old boys had pulled up to chat close to GZ. We waited a bit & eventually they left & we were free to search. Thanks for the cache.
Too close to private property for me!
People inside the section watching & signs for private property so off we went to the next cache

I'm staying in Clyde for a couple of days. Headed into Cromwell early this morning. to have a look around and find a cache or two. After seeing the Big Fruit yesterday I did the Little Fruit run today. TFTC
We pulled in on our way to picking up a couple of geotour caches.
There were no muggles around to trouble me so it was a quick find.
Nice hide - thanks for putting this here

Had to retrieve and replace this one when man loading firewood was looking away from cache. Good cache
Our first cache for the New Year - as I love Persimmon's it was a win-win all round.
I seriously love how you have created these different themed caches! Found near many burrows with Piwaka54. TFTC
Didn’t take long to get the cache in hand. Another fruit to add to the collection. Tftc
This was the very last one of the day and we had a llama come out and watch us standing on a little hillock. so i took a photo !
Today was set aside to do a geo caching day to Cromwell if the weather was unsuitable for skiing which is was , so we set off early at about 8.30 and finally arrived home about 5.30 with approx 41 caches in total including the adventure lab , so we were very pleased. we took a muggle who have been intro' to geocaching briefly on a few days before and so today was a big geo caching experience for her and as i had 2 GPS's with me she was able to use one quite independently by half was thro the day.
we enjoyed spending some time at the historic Cromwell area which none of us had actually explored before and where we had lunch at the Grain cafe.
we only had 2 DNFs and both were of puzzle style caches which we had solved but there was nothing at GZ.
thank you for these caches

Last one on our big day caching around Cromwell with Haydnseek and muggle Chickadee. At times this one may be a high muggle area. Today only the 4 legged variety, but watching us closely! Thanks Rowena and all the other cachers of Cromwell for all the caches we have found today. We had a great day out.
On holiday staying in Wanaka and decided to check out a town we haven't visited on previous trips and today it was Cromwell. Had a good time exploring the town including the museum which is near the cafes in the town centre area and then some caching - a perfect day really!
At around 3pm I was eyeing up the series as we had finished exploring the town. 'How long can I cache for then?' 'Until you get a DNF was the response' Well if that was not motivation to find them all I don't know what was! Woohoo local caches and series here we come!!
Nice little shaded spot to stop and rest but not for us as we are on a mission!!
Quick find and we were on our way again.
Thanks for the cache.

Not everyone choice of fruit when we could only get the astringent variety which were mushy to eat. The new variety is quiet crisp like an apple, much more popular.
Found the litte fruit..I have part of this series last time I was down heremany thanks.. will try to complete it thus
A food excuse to stop after a drive from Te Anau. Replaced log. Thanks for the cache RowenaD
We're hunting Tour caches and anything that's not slowing down our objective to much. We scored 3x nights at Rotary Glen with max occupancy of 10 vans. The plan was just staying 2 nights but it's just to nice here. We never explored Cromwell, just raced through so we're going to make the most of it. The wind is already picking up and growing into a decent storm as the day progresses. A quick find before we're going to indulge ourselves into some more fruit caches, yum! Thank you RowenaD
We are out and about in the area finding some caches and enjoying exploring and revisiting other areas again.
Today we focused on healthy eating, making sure we got our recommended number of servings of fruit and veges.
Thank you RowrnaD.

I love persimmons. Sadly they don’t grow this far south, but it was cheering to see one even if it was indelible. This needs a new log sheet- we had to write our names sideways on the paper. Thanks for placing this one. Found with Flumsy2
Note to CO: this needs a new log sheet. There isn’t much spare room in there, so thought we had better leave this for you to do.
