What a journey this has been in 2023, started off with TFTC Sydney- Luna Park Cache, and now this year ends with Penrith Courthouse and what better owned by my good friend Blacktownman. I started Geocaching in March of this year so this year is special to me. As of now Ive found 93 caches and hid 3 with many more to come next year in 2024. I wouldnt have been making this log if not for my family friend GeoCarlos27. With that said, Happy New Year to you all, and Thank You for my last find of 2023 Blacktownman, its been a pleasure of you helping me throughout my geocaching journey. And for the final time this year. TFTC!

This was the only find for day. Looking to fill my calendar with multis, and previously not having any luck with this cache, I decided to give it another go today. On my first visit, I was fortunate to park very close to the first waypoint. The plaque is a little hard to read and I made sure to double-check my counting as the first set of numbers was a little out. After making the adjustments, I realised how close GZ was. That's when I initally had problems and thought the cache was missing. Fast forward to now, I had some extra intel and the cache was very quickly discovered. Unfortunately, the log is a mushy mess and unable to be signed. TFTC.

28-May-22
In Penrith for the weekend (attending a SES Rescue Comp nearby), had time to include a few caches in the area. Had visited the plaque last night as I arrived in town but transposed two numbers and ended up a lot further away than I expected. Corrected that mistake back in my room and swung by again tonight to make the quick grab where my ignored instincts had initially urged me to look yesterday. Cache in good condition but log so soaked, not sure my pen worked properly without tearing it and it was too cold to dry it out a little. Did my best in the dark but have photo proof as well if CO requires it.

easy multi very mushy logbook

08-Feb-22
Extremely easy. Don’t really understand the need for this to be a multi. TFTC

02-Jan-22
Whilst the information is easy to find, could the CO check if the cache is still in place please? There isn't anything nearby that resembles the hint.

04-Sep-21
Working nearby- was imported in July to NSW to help out and on a rare day off. Looked ... that didn't work.

Might have another go in a few days. TY

A nice and easy multi on a wet day.
While i drove through some fairly heavy rain on my way to the GZ I arrived thankfully in a clear patch.
I must have had my caching senses turned up high today as i actually noticed the cache as i was walking from the car to WP1.
I ended up heading to the plaque and completing the GZ coords anyway for the fun of it.
The container is in good condition and the log is dry.
Thanks.

22-Feb-20
Parked about 500m away to get my steps up and headed to WP1. Found the plaque and worked out the numbers that I needed crunched them out and got numbers for GZ. I thought it would be closer than that. Oh well so headed off to GZ after a while I finally got there then with so many possible hides I progressed with a systematic search if the area and finally spotted the hide

With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache blacktownman

Out for another epic days caching with marj01; this time around Erskine Park, Orchard Hills, Kingswood, St Marys and Ropes Creek, suburbs that I would never have visited if I wasn't for geocaching. We found lots of caches; mainly nanos, minties and a few small sistemas plus a good old ammo can.

This must be the quickest multi ever.

A big thank you to all the CO's who placed and maintain these caches.

11-Jun-19
On a trip to Penrith from the upper Blue Mountains today to get the car serviced. Looks like several hours to fill in, so may as well do a few caches. I have driven past this sight and observed the sandstone wall many times without realising it's historical significance. Thanks for alerting me to it.

Found at 18:40hrs. Reading previous comments, I already had a fair idea where the cache was hidden . I still visited the plaque and answered all the questions though (coz I need the experience ). "Accidently" dropped something at GZ, to give me an excuse to scoop up the cache . TFTC

20-Jul-18
We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Penrith for a short three day caching holiday, staying in a park cabin at the Gateway Lifestyle Nepean Shores Holiday Park, and planning on exploring the areas around Penrith, Regentville, Jamisontown, Emu Plains, Lapstone, and Glenbrook. Will also be keeping an eye out for our final Hidden Creature, the World Turtle, whilst out on the caching trail. This was our 1st find of the day, and 50th find of the holiday.

Day #3 of our caching holiday and this was to be our first cache stop, parking the geomobile outside Maccas on High Street, and then walking up to WP1. Gathered all of the required info, did the computations, scratched our heads at the results, then "trekked" off to final GZ.

At final GZ we quickly spotted the hide and had CIH. Signed the log sheet, then replaced as found. TFTC blacktownman.

This is a very easy multi to do. Read the plaque and worked out where to find the cache. The cache was found after a short seach. The log was signed and then the cache was replaced as found. Thank you blacktownman for placing this cache.

18-Dec-17
This was a nice simple little multi and thankfully we chose the correct place to check out on the first try first. With both the co-ords and the hint put together, there was really only one place to look seriously. The container was found quickly, log was signed in the shade, all was returned to its hiding position. Then it was an easy walk back to the geo vehicle. Thanks to blacktownman for bringing us to this lovely park area by placing this cache. The establishment nearby was a good place to visit and get something cold on this hot day.

Loved the history, we found and signed the log with sevabo. [^]

#4076 (1 of 3 today)

Gone lite with only one find on each of the last 2 days - yesterday an event. Don't normally go for multiple caches on a Saturday - too many muggles about - but a few should be OK today.

Also continuing to grab multis - getting the numbers up. When I started puzzle and multi finds were neck and neck for quite a while, but then came a period when I grabbed plenty of puzzles and few multis. Almost caught back up now - might try to grab #250 of each on the same day in the not too distant future, although the new Puzzle Piece Trail at Helensburg may mess me up.

Anyway, today two more multis and a traditional. And no DNFs!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Parked close, but in the wrong spot really. But still only a short walk to the published coordinates.

Interesting history on the plaque - yes can be hard to read - and did my calcs. OK, that looks feasible.
Walked there and only needed a short search to turn up the container.

Then walked a little further to a shelter to complete signing duties. Very light drizzle coming and going.
Then wandered back for the replace.

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.

13-May-17
It was quite difficult to read the plaque but we managed to get what we needed from it and soon had CIH. SL TFTC

12-May-17
Due to the time factor, we don't normally attempt multis at lunchtime but we thought we'd give this one a go as we were close by. It was good we didn't have to travel too far from WP1 to grab it.

Nice one, thanks blacktownman.

05-May-17
A nice afternoon for a multi. Found the sign and got the coordinates. Eventually got to GZ for a quick find. A good alternative to just having a standard cache here. Didn't even know this wall was here, let alone what it was made from

Meet up with Team Merlin to grab a few caches. Made a nice quick find. After signing the log we replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in excellent condition.

Meet up with JJCC with a mission to head up to the Blues this afternoon in order to grab a few caches. As we weren't too far away we walked over to GZ and made a very quick find. After signing the log we replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in excellent condition.

The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), The Hulk & Vanlith The Youngling.

28/04/17. 1:07 PM. Cache #4971.
3rd of 5 finds - Claremont Meadows, Kingswood, Penrith & Pennant Hills.

Time to head west and get some of the sorta-new caches around here. Came here after finding "Bus About"; parked across the road from WP1. The plaque was quickly spotted and the numbers worked out for final coords. I considered driving to GZ, but seeing as it was a nice day, it was worth the walk.

Thanks to the hint, once I was at GZ, I made the find straight away. SL, replaced, then stopped for lunch at a nearby fast food establishment. After that, had a go at avenging a former DNF at "Penrith". TFTC.

27-Apr-17
Found at lunchtime as I had the day in Penrith. A nice walk from downtown as I originally went straight to the courthouse and then realised that WP1 was 600 metres away. Nice weather so a nice walk.

16-Apr-17
At first our substituted coords gave us GZ a few hundred metres away. Oops, we soon found our mistake, and made the much shorter walk to GZ. A good place for a cache. TFTC

14-Apr-17
I dropped in here this arvo to grab this cache, after reading the previous logs it was clear what was needed to do to find it and I soon enough did,
Thank you blacktown woman for the cache Smile

12-Apr-17
I had to hang around Penrith for an hour this morning while 2 of my geomobile's tyres (the unfortunate victims of a quick caching foray into Claremont Meadows late yesterday) were replaced. So I headed to the nearby Maccas for breakfast and while there i saw that there there was a newish cache close by. Naturally it became my next stop ... and having read the blurb and what others had logged, i was able to make the find in superquick time, without even the need to read the plaque.

Thanks for this "trad masquerading as a multicache", which turns out to be a bit of a mini milestone for me ... find #2200.

08-Apr-17
After visiting a friend in Nepean Hospital we stopped near the close by McDonalds. My wife went to get some coffee and I went to get this cache which was nearby. It didn't take long to work out the needed coordinates and get to GZ. An easy find awaited. Replaced as found after signing the log. tftc
Got back to the car at the same time as my wife returned with the coffee

05-Apr-17

#4,916

The Imp & I came to Penrith early in the morning for Parkrun. We both had good runs, each of us just a few seconds shy of our PBs. It rained while we were running, we were both a bit wet & cold, so I hesitated to suggest this cache. But it was a good time to do it, before too many people were up, and I bribed the Imp with a hot chocolate afterwards. She agreed, but said only one!

Quick find, in the first spot we looked. What a pity such a lovely looking old building was demolished!

Thanks Smile

I needed a cache for a calendar fill. Headed here and a quick find in between showers. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC

02-Mar-17
Well that didn't take long to work out the coordinates and go to GZ for an instant find. Took all of three minutes from the parking spot back to the car.

TFTC.

02-Mar-17
I'd read a couple of logs before leaving home. I figured I knew where the cache would be. I didn't bother with the GPS. I didn't even look at the waypoint information to calculate the coordinates. I just went to where I thought the cache would be and made an instant find, as anticipated. Thanks

02-Mar-17
#4116- bikerbuddy and I had some things to do in Penrith today, so I suggested we do this one. I have been past here many times, but didn't know this plaque related to the subject of the cache. The plaque is quite worn and parts are hard to see, but We found the cache immediately. Thanks

28-Feb-17
Hmm.
I did the work then thought what the?
Checked the usual place and there it was. Very simple bit does not take the full purpose of a multi into account.
Thanks for the cache.

Not the first to find, I just hate it when people do not let others know that it has been found - my real log will follow
