Was deceived by the couple of metresIt is 8 m below the track and my GPS made it 10m from ground 0. Container can just be seen under the sticks.

Searched for a long time together with German_Panda but we couldn't find it. Unfortunately any of the hints in old locks didn't help us.

Thanks for the cache Very nice walk to the beach, we really enjoyed it !

26-Apr-23
took a lot of poking around to locate this one. not at the obvious big tree at gz but 4m further away just off the minor track. replaced under sticks as per hint. tftc
sadly the tide was too high to walk along the beach but very impressive cliffs and waves in the strong westerly.

04-Dec-22
Despite long search and reading earlier activities we could not find it.
Nice and beautiful spot though so happy we went here.

We ended up spending about 2 hours exploring all the corneres and arches of Wharariki. Arrived a low tide so it was perfect for that.
And at 6pm, when the sun was setting and the tide was starting to flood some of the arches, we understood that it is time to move on. It was already pretty dark and we only had phone torches but still managed to find the cache, thanks to GM's eagle eye.
Seemed to me to be a bit towards the beach from where the coords were pointing to.

Kia ora! Paldies!

Dnf on my 6 weeks long holiday. I was searching for it about 5 minutes but then quitted due to late hours and being accompanied by bored muggle.

11-Jul-21
Hinemoana led the mission and made the find but I did also try to help! Was not easy to find. Not a good spot for reliable and accurate GPS coordinates (our equipment was pointing 10+ metres away most of the time). A much better nearby spot in terms of both GPS reception and views can be found very close by at S40 30.410' E172 39.924' and a small move to somewhere around there would make it a more pleasant experience if you don't mind me saying. Smile

What a mission to locate this one! GPS was all over the show and lost of hiding places. We found it eventually and then had a picnic on a nice rock nearby before heading to the stunning beach. We could have easily spent more time than what was left of the light for the day! TFTC!!

Hunted high and low but no luck for us.
Beautiful day to walk along the beach and we struck low tide so could explore the caves and get a great look around.

17-Jun-21
Nice little piece of piece of bush. Amazing view at the end of the track.
We sat on the flat rock to eat lunch in the sun, taking it all in.

It's a gloriously fine early-winter day, so decided to visit Wharariki .

Took the inland track to the western end of the beach and grabbed two caches. Then realised I had the tides wrong and could not walk along the coast to the main beach. Never mind, it was a fantastic spot to stop for lunch.

The cache was found after a short search.

All I had was the co-ordinates, so flying a bit blind. Gorgeous beach and I guess there's an excuse to return another time.

20-Apr-21
Dad for the find. Mum was about to give up.
Gorgeous outlook (nearby). Mum went photo crazy.
Thanks for bringing us this direction B&W!

After a very blustery night, with a few heavy showers of rain thrown in for good measure, we got ourselves sorted for a days walk to grab a couple of target caches. Arrived at Wharariki beach carpark behind a mob of sheep and sorted out our packs for the walk. As we had plenty of time before low tide, we decided to collect the other caches on our way in instead of our way out.

Got some good views of arches on the way across the paddock to the track and some even better ones down the bottom. Found this cache after a short search. tftc

Spending a long weekend down in this neck of the woods, so stopped by for a few caches. 10 years since I last cached out this way.

Our GPSs were all over the place so just started using caching senses. Eventually I found it, there was no sign of Nanzie so I assumed she'd gone down to the beach while I was busy signing the log. So headed down there. Turns out she hadn't heard my "found it" then found it herself after I left, she was surprised to find her name already in the log. Wow what a stunning beach. I had hoped we would be able to walk along the beach back towards the car however we'd taken too long back at the attempt to get to the earthcache and the tide was now coming in and starting to get dark. Another day. Thanks for bringing us here

How to spend a sunday in Golden Bay area? We decided to go for Wharariki Beach even though we knew that the tide was coming in and would be high in the afternoon. But nevertheless - you could still just watch those Arches.
It was a wonderful and almost quiet walk, just us and several hundreds of sheep Smile All of them let us pass easily and soon we come down to the forest and the beach. What a stunning place! We saw only one pair of footsteps in the sand - and so it was just us. This was amazing! We took time a bit to explore the caves and enjoy this place, watching the waves coming higher and higher, taking pictures ... Wonderful moments to remember!

When it was time to return we searched a while for the cache and we found it some meters off the given coords. But it was still ok, because no one else cared what we were doing here.

Thank you very much for the cache here - this is really a great place to have a cache here!

After a great walk over Wharariki beach in the sun, enjoying the refreshing water and watching some playful baby seals we returned to the car using the back way, also going by this cache. TFTC!

Down to the awesome arches beach, this one was quite easy to find, even it was a "new kind" of hide-out, regarding to the other ones on my tour today.

Just wow!!!! The view as you come past the cache site through the trees to the beach is jawdroppingly beautiful. The whole of this walk has been utterly outstanding and one of the highlights of the area.

We were in the area hoping to have a successful mini mission, but that was not to be. o instead we just had a lovely walk around the area. We have never been along here before so it was great to see some new scenery.
We were on the track nice and early so there was no one else around. We had gone past the turn off to this one when I realised we had missed it. GK offered to go back up the hill and find it while I carried on up the next hill. That was a good plan until I had waited for him for over half an hour and he did not turn up. So I went looking for him, I ended up finding the cache and noticed that he had found it already. Hmmm where could he be. The cell phone reception is as good as useless in the area so we could not contact each other. I went and had a look to see if he had gone to the beach, but could not see him there either. So I headed towards the next cache, I thought he might be there waiting. Sure enough he was walking back towards me. He had taken a short cut back onto the track as I was heading up the hill and we had not seen each other. woops. So then it was onwards and upwards.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

New Zealand we are back again.
Hoping to find some caches at secret or interesting locations we are with the motorhome on the road.
Today we visited Wharariki Beach when there was low tide. That was a really good hint of our host. I had to look for that cache for a while. But finally I found it

Thanks to bumandworker for hiding and maintaining.
Best regards

Heading back after our walk in this area we decided we may as well grab this one too. It was not to be found a pile of sticks but no cache Sad. Oh well we will just keep an eye on this and see if it us or the cache was the problem. TFTC

Walked the Greenhills Loop Track today with A.W, we both enjoyed it immensely. One on the best day walks we've done for a while. Great views, interesting places, and not too taxing. Highly recommended. Didn't takes us long to find the cache, then we dropped down to the beach for the final leg back to the carpark. This place never fails to wow me, just superb, as the saying goes "a photo says a thousand words". A great finish to a great day out. Cheers and TFTC

From our holiday in New Zealand after å friends wedding at Anatoki Salmon farms.
As the Cyclone Gita destrøyed our plans to do the Heaphey trail we needed to find another plave to explore. We choose to drive to the sand spit and haven't regret it. What a fantastic place`!

We took a walk to the fantastic Arches beach, saw the seals playing and found some caches Smile GPS did not cooperate but after some searching i found the cache.
Thank you for shoeing this beautiful place bumandworker.

Real neat, natural architecture.

We planed our trip to New Zealand for a long time and had four weeks for both islands. We enjoyed every minute of this journey and had great adventures. Of course we also found some caches on the way. For some more details please read the log of LSOEVE.

We spent 3 weeks in NZL for our holiday and visited both islands. I can't tell which spot was the most beautiful. The hole country was amazing and we had a really great time. Of course we had some time to look for some caches. We had a really great time on the beach and made some beautiful pictures.

Another awesome day out, geocaching certainly takes us to amazing places. Last cache of the day then back to the car for a warm drink and dry trou and footwear and then the long drive home. THANKS!!!!

Last find on another brilliant caching day in paradise. We took a quicker and more direct approach from the direction we were walking which worked out well. Great views of the arches from just past GZ but the track looked a very slippery one from there down so happy to admire them from where we were. I have been really looking forward to this walk for a long time and it didn't disappoint. It may not have been the sunniest day of the year but I loved it. I thought we were lucky with the weather but not everyone agreed with that point of view. Thanks so much for guiding us along yet another unexplored track bumandworker. It was brilliant! After some discussion about access to this cache, it was left for the last find of the day as we returned from the Green Hill Loop cache. The rain was beginning to set in, but leaving one cache unlooked for was not an option any of the party considered. Mrs Sobad's GPS favoured one area on approach, but she waited for it to settle after experience at another cache. That proved unnnecessary as another in the party found the cache where she should have looked. However, as she had spent some time looking at the arches it does not count as time wasted.
Now back to the car - for very welcome coffee (thanks Sidewaze), a change of footwear and the chance to get out of the rain. Thanks for all the caches on the loop - it was a great day exploring an area that only caching would have taken us to.

Smile FTF Smile Today I decided to head over the hills and quite far away to make my way around the Green Hills Track. I found this cache on my way back from the Boundary View Point. Last cache found on this track today. I went past GZ and sat in a nice spot for a breather and a bite to eat. Went back to where I thought the cache would be and there it was. Nice one!
