We looked for a bit. Definitely not where the hint says it is.

Had a good look around here while we waited for the sun to set. Could not find in the location of the hint.

We came out to visit the landing strip here and also to visit the musical fence while we are staying in Winton.
Cold and windy today.
We could see that this one has a string of recent DNFs, so we contacted the CO, to ask for permission to replace the hide.
An historic and curious area.

The area is being redeveloped and some workers were sitting on the rocks. Hopefully the rocks aren't removed.

Stuck in Winton

On our way to Mt Garnet for their big May Day weekend races & rodeo (and a family gathering amongst it). We had to change our course due to flooding which is what led us here.
Seeing the name on this attraction, we had no idea what to expect, and there was still a lot of water and mid around, but we did enjoy playing with the instruments we could get to. TFTC!

Found it with pippahiccup on a western run up to Mt Garnett. But rain and road closures hampering us. Very saturated ground. What an awesome idea for set up.

Day 19 of our road trip to north and central QLD and the plans have changed! We were supposed to be in Longreach but a huge amount of recent rain (the likes that haven’t been seen in 70 yrs!) has cut off the road between Winton and Longreach.
So we are spending some time in Winton and seeing the sights.
One of the sights was the musical fence just next to this cache. It was a bit wet and we weren’t sure if we did it right but it was fun to play anyway!
Found this cache without any trouble, signed and replaced as found. Tftc

Day 17 of the long road trip from Perth to the Townsville Mega via the southern states and then back to Perth again via the northern part of Australia.

Today was heading south from Hughenden to Longreach to visit the Qantas Founders Museum and then after returning north to Winton.

This cache was found without problems. Log signed and the cache returned as it was found.

Its Mega time once again!! Woo hoo!! Love these epic road trips. This time the plan is Canberra to Narromine to Cunnamulla to Blackall, a detour via Winton and then swinging back to Charters Towers before the main event in Townsville. Will see if the April rains and flooding detour us! Thanks to everyone who placed and maintained all these caches that enabled us to have a wonderful holiday! Did a little community maintenance on this one. Thanks for the cache.

We found your cache **"Winton Landing Ground"** today.

We're full time grey nomads, currently avoiding COVID hot spots on our way to QOGM in Cunnamulla. Today we cached around Winton and found 4 caches in a variety of container types and sizes (& DNF'd 0).

Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places to visit on our nomadic wander around Australia.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache near where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log are in good shape.
**Please Note:** *We didn't spot "Element14 Trackable" in the cache*, could generalmanager (or the Trackable owner) please "Mark the Item as Missing" so it can be removed from the cache inventory. This option is under Actions on the trackable's web page).

Found with orth71 on a camping trip to see the dinosaurs.
2nd stop is Winton.
Out seeing the town and doing some caching.
Plyed a little drum solo and found the cache.

1st day in Winton on our out back geocaching trip. After spending 4 hours trying to sort out internet access we finally got to do some caching.
Love the concept of this musical fence.

Was finally able to get away on my 2021 trip up to outback Qld.
The original plan was to go up through NSW but that got changed on the morning of the departure so up through SA it was.
Was very apprehensive about towing the new van up the Birdsville track but my only other option was to stay home.
Well the caravan has made it up the track and after Bedourie, Boulia for the Camel racing time to head to Winton for a couple of days.
Plenty to see around Winton and I really enjoyed the musical fence which is close by.
I had a good look around GZ and even using the hint could not find anything.
Replaced the cache with what I had (ie film container) in where I thought it should be.

Oh so sad, could not find today! A bus load of muggles turned up so we had to wait but alas could not find the treasure today - we loved the location and the geokids enjoyed the instruments!

Looked for a while and went by hint but doesn't seem to be located where suggested

On a short stop in Winton, as we had been here before.
