And again, another interesting charactor. Had some doubts with my answers but the check sums helped a lot. Thanks again
After calculating the final in April, I was back today with micaparamedic for an event and to make 15 multi finds for a UK challenge. Thanks for the multi.
Found It..... While in the area attending and event we decided to grab a couple more in here. After collecting the required info we set off to G.Z. where a quick search soon yielded the cache. So with the log signed and replaced we continued our journey. Thanks Motndarg for the cache
Came over here after a nearby event and found a number of cache, some multis, some trads, in a nice setting for the residents.Loved the history. All in here found easily, with some calcs taking longer than others...TNLNSL Thanks
TFTC! 24 March 2024 4:50:51pm 7677 thanks to Motndarg for the cache! Thanks for the cache. Found relatively easily
Enjoyed getting the info. At gz took a little while to find, only to discover it was in the first spot I looked, just didnt look hard enough!
Found with FeatherWaite on a 4-day trip to Victoria. From Adelaide. Our main aim was to complete the Ballarat Geotour and other caches of interest in the broader Ballarat area. There were also a number of events and a CITO to attend. The weather was on the warm side, but not too bad for this time of year, which made for pleasant camping each night. The cache was found in good order. Thanks Motndarg for the cache.
Found with e.gregory1 during an extended weekend in the Ballarat area, with the main aim of completing the Ballarat GeoTour, but taking the opportunity to attend a number of events and CITOs, and searching for a good range of caches while touring around the district. Thanks for the cache Motndarg!
Found on a typical Summer day with Roostaman and friends, on a a short trip to Vic. . Lots of travelling and caches as well. Thanks for the cache Motndarg, ***MrsRoosta***
Found on a short Vic trip with MrsRoosta. A goood safe hide at GZ. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cachefor all of us to find, Motndarg, ***Roostaman***
A weekend away with K9team to complete the Ballarat geo tour and find some other caches along the way. Tftc
I incorrectly calculated the coordinates on the first try . Went home and recalculated the coordinates and got a slightly different location. Came back tonight with the two junior monsters and a quick little look around we found the cache in a nice sneaky hidden spot!! TFTC!!
Back in Ballarat for work today so left Geelong a little earlier to collect a few caches. This area of the cemetery was busy this morning with many different groups visiting/remembering loved ones who have passed.I worked out the coords to GZ in my last visit here so happy to collect the smiley today. Thanks for the hide
With an early morning start we concentrated on finding the caches in the cemetery and this was one of them. This is a historic cemetery that we enjoyed exploringWe found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty.A straight forward multi and a quick find at GZ.Many thanks to all CO's for your cache placement.
Having attended a recent event in Brisbane where a fellow cacher brought my attention to the geo tour in Ballarat and its up coming finish in February, i knew this was something I had to make an effort to get to.I also quickly realised that the attribute for the geo tour is the last one I need to achieve a personal challenge so the planning began.Today is day three of the mission and Ive completed the geo art and the tour so Im very happy. Todays mission is to get to 100 in this local LGA and then head towards Sunbury in the hope to pick up another 25 to also reach 100 in that LGA before my flight out tonight. Obviously this is for a local challenge cache at home. What else. Unfortunately I missed the events in Castlemaine. Time got the better of me.I jumped in The geowagon and ventured off the o soon find a nice parking spot. A short stroll later soon found me at ground zero. It wasnt long before cache was found and my name was printed for prosperity. I returned the cache to its hiding space and made my way back to the car. Ready to head to the next adventureA big thanks to the cache owners of Ballarat for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Got 5 days off from work so I decided to come to Ballarat and do the Geo Tour before its gone, also grabbing random caches and Adventures labs along my journey. So thanks to all who have placed caches. Sl cache replaced.
Love the history of Cobb and Coach so was pleased to do this one. Found today after todays meetup in the cemetery cafe on a chilly day with the sun shining! TFTM
Checksum got me. Got it in the end. Nice easy find. So peaceful walking around here
Thanks for placing this multi and telling us about Ned. I had a bit of trouble finding the cache as my coordinates weren’t accurate inside the cemetery, as soon as I left the area and reloaded them they gave me the accurate coordinates and a find was made. TFTC
Fun little multi cache, thanks for bringing me through here. Nice container and hide as well
The weather is fine, so it is time to get outside. I grabbed my Blue geo cycle, the small red geo bag and headed North North East. So I headed off into a slight breeze, went around Lake Wendouree, past the Showgrounds, before arriving at Ballarat’s New Cemetery, it was time to turn some green and orange into smiley faces. The cemetery is set out in many sections. As always with a cemetery or War Memorial visit it was a sobering and contemplative visit.
A nice multi. Once the cemetery workers moved away I was able to sign my name at GZ. Cache was intact and the log nice and dry.
Thanks for the cache Motndarg

Found with JJ52 and Michells&hound on our Ballarat Geo Tour trip. We left Adelaide early Friday morning and travelled home Sunday. We found all the Ballarat Geo Tour caches over the weekend aswell as a few others along the way. We even attended a event in Sebastopol on Sunday before we headed home.We did a few Adventure Labs to when we were close. RIP Ned
Last day in Ballarat for the Geotour, we had quite a lot to get done before the event in Sebastopol. We needed to compete the tour, find a couple of old caches and also targeted some multis and a virtual. Jam packed morning but all we wanted to do was competed before the long drive home.
Nice simple multi TFTC

On a road trip with Michells&hound and allister w over to Ballarat to complete the GeoTour as well as other highly favourited caches and odd ones we were going past. We had a great weekend with four seasons of weather over the three days and even managed to attend an event in Sebastopol before heading home. Saw lots of the countryside and very interesting places in and around Ballarat. [^]
I love visiting old cemeteries so this morning was great exploring this one.
Thanks for the cache Motndarg.

An interesting little multi. Sounds like Ned was well liked and had a great life. Thanks for showcasing him and for the story. Fav point for the Cobb n Co angle.
Found while on a huge geocaching holiday with sir_spectre. We targetting a huge range of caches, favourites, LGAs, challenges and a range of terrain and difficulties.
Thanks
Thanks
found after doing a nearby lab cache. solved the multi and made a quick find. We even might just ( really just ) make the nearby event in time, these multis just take extra time.
Found with mogni, we are supposed to be targeting the nearby geo tour caches but seem to get side tracked on the way. this was one of the many caches that side tracked us.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

Our final full day in Ballan, and we needed to go to Ballarat to buy some birthday presents, so with that task done we decided to tackle a number of multis that we had not had the time to try in our previous visit, and collect any others we passed in doing so. It can be pretty tricky juggling multiple tasks so we probably missed a few!
The weather was pretty cold and the showers intermittent so it was a staccato approach as we took shelter and stopped and started but in the end a satisfying day.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Motndarg.

A nice little offset multi to fill in a few minutes before the may the fourth event starts, nice
Heading up to Buninyong for the Ballarat GeoTour event this afternoon but I left home nice and early to be able to hopefully find a few caches early then meet up with Lee Lee from Crack’n’LeeLee around lunch time then cache our way to the event.
Made my way out of the pine plantation near Creswick and as I still had a bit of time to kill so time to locate a few more.
Came past the cemetery and noticed a few caches in there so why not a stroll around a cemetery but only problem was that this one was over a large area compared to a small country one.
Parked the Geocruiser and headed off.
Completed the Adventure Lab first and now for this multi, eventually made my way into where I needed to be then did some counting and recounting just to make sure and I soon had a set of coords.
Made my way to GZ and it was nice and quiet around here to today so I made a quick find.
Thanks Motndarg TFTC.

After brunch at 'The Gatehouse' and while walking the grounds detoured to find this cache and left a trackable 'Peko.' Inside for the next lucky finder.
After a stormy night at Lake Colac, we hoped that perhaps the wind inland wouldn't be so stormy. We decided to drive to Ballarat, and on the way saw a lot of fallen trees and big fallen limbs on and near the road. In Ballarat because of a power outage a lot of offices were closed.
But we could take a walk on the cementary with some stops for short heavy rainfalls.
We found this numbers and the final easily.

Sorry for the late log and a generic log. A combination of some heath issues making me not able to look at the computer for any length of time and a mishap with my phone that has caused me to lose my list of saved caches.
Found on a trip out with AusFox;.
Thank you for the hide

Enjoying Heritage Day/Week/Month in Ballarat today with kenare and Jenno3. We are finding a few caches as we walk around finding the answers in the treasure hunt. TFTC
A day up in Ballarat, home of the Geotour, for a few events and some odd caches in between.
Back to solo caching as everyone else had previously done this multi.
An interesting story on this headstone.
And a nice walk to GZ.
Thanks, Robmc.

Thanks Motndarg for being part of our geocaching fun.

Spiffy- had some time off work and decided to head to Ballarat for 3 nights. He made me sufficiently jealous so I had to join him for 1 day of caching and took the train up and back to hang with him.
We seemed to find a lot of multis today and cemetry based. No issues here and made a quick find.
Thanks to Motndarg for the placement and fun.

With some forced annual leave from work to keep our outstanding leave days low I ended up extending the Easter break and coming to stay in the Ballarat area for a few days mainly to complete the Geo Tour since I missed doing the last one at Lake Eildon. I also had some solved puzzles, and plenty of adventure labs for times when it was raining. I also targeted a couple of virtuals and some whereIGo's as well. Even my buddy Fleabag- popped up for a visit one of the days. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable few days and managed to complete almost everything I wanted to.
This third day Fleabag- arrived because he was missing out on all the finds so he had to come up here. It was good to have him here so I could send him into the dangerous blackberries, water, spiky bushes, etc first.
We were attracted to this cemetery due the the adventure lab and we spent ages here doing all the multis and trads in here. I liked the garden grave area. Very interesting but a lot of maintenance for the grounds keepers.
I got a bit confused on one of the numbers even though it checksumed. Only 2 locations to check so found it in the second location pretty quickly.
Thanks Motndarg for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

I think a Ned may have led a very interesting life. After sitting my Is and crossing my Ts I soon had the numbers I needed and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC
We have had a lovely weekend around Ballarat finding some excellent caches.
Ned’s inscription was a little challenging for us to read and our counting was a bit questionable at times. We were grateful for the checksums. The cache was found in excellent condition.
This cache was another enjoyable cache that we were happy to add to our find list.
Thank you for highlighting this area with your cache.

2 February 2021,stunning part of the cemetery, so glad we walked over here, thanks for showing us this part
Took a little to figure out the GZ, once had them easy enough to find the cache. Thanks for the Cache.
We stayed the night in Ballarat as the last night of our trip. We came here to grab as many multi's as we could for a challenge we are chasing.
This was the last in this cemetery and we are starting to get to know our way around but don't want to become locals. Again we had no problem gathering the required information and with a bit of math we had a set of coordinates for GZ.
We headed off to find the only other person here today, a worker near GZ but he was packing up so we just waited until he left and not too long after we had the cache in hand and were adding our name to the log.
Again our thanks Motndarg for a nice multi.

Nice shady area. Interesting use of concrete in what looks like the natural burial area.
We spent an hour or so in this cemetery this afternoon, doing the new Adventure Labs and also this multi cache, and pausing to acknowlege the hundreds of unknown stories that would accompany the souls interred here. The cache was found quite exposed, so after signing the log, we replaced it how it was obviously should have been. Thank you for this multi cache Motndarg.

It was great to be back in the area caching and catching up my buddy Rebel Acts.
So many new caches online around Ballarat and Creswick since the last time I was up this way, and awesome to see some lab caches here as well.
Logs signed as RA/OM71
Cheers for the caches and the fun weekend

Another fun weekend assault on Victorian caches with Trigger_Fish where many caches were found, many miles were covered in the geomobile and some miles were walked.
Another set of numbers quickly calculated and another easy find.

Another girls weekend with Kelly, and we spent most of our time in cemeteries today. This cemetery is huge and so diverse. I really enjoyed the uniqueness of this one. I also like cache end location too. Thanks for the cache.
Had a couple of hours to spare this afternoon so decided to get some smilies in the cemetery. This is very interesting and I would like to know more about “Ned”.
Had the updated coordinates quickly sorted out and had a quick brisk walk to GZ. The cache was easily in hand and log duly signed.

After solving this puzzle months ago we decided to go find the cache with success. TFTC
Today Crank1, Papi4506, GeoTurtle37 and myself headed to the “other” side of Melbourne for a day chasing mainly multi’s and an event. Despite being very near closing time, we managed to find this cache before having to exit the cemetery. Thanks so much for placing this cache Motndarg, a great headstone to feature!

A great little multi. GZ is all good
Today I was going from Ballarat to Adelaide, with 2 events being hosted I was restricted to the time I spent in Ballarat for the morning so I went around picking up multis and puzzles with some very enjoyable locations visited. I collected a few along the way to the 2nd event of the day in coonalpyn and then finished off with half a new series in Murray Bridge. A total of just over 50 finds for the day and 500km driving.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

"Australia Day" - should we change the day, should we change the focus?
In geocaching terms it may be safest to get together on January the 25th and despite the promised excessive heat, meet up with fellow cachers in Ballarat, then team up in the very good company of Alansee and seek out some jointly unfound caches.
Fortunately Alansee had attended to the maths on a previous visit, so we were able to sign in quickly and retreat to the cooler air in the car.
Thanks to 'Motndarg' for placing this cache on the geo-gameboard.

Down in Ballarat for a short day of caching, oh and the usual checkup.
Thankfully there is a tree close to this grave, as the sun was quite warm today and the shade was pleasant to be in.
With all numbers worked out it was over to a quick and logical find.
I must say this was one of many interesting head stones I walk pasts today.
