Found with Bogonghazy and Geo dog on our way to Eildon. Gorgeous day out with my favourite ones Thanks for placing the geocache
Out and about with LittleBoss2 and Geo the puppy while we spend the long weekend in Merrijig. Took the Geo trail up to GZ where it was a quick find. The mine shafts were indeed small, but we're not all 6 ft 2 skullracing!!!!! And I guess I'd be making them as small as possible if I were digging them out. Just a thought Grayboy33, maybe raise the terrain rating to at least a three. Great spot tho, thanks again
Winding our way home after a weekend at Baw Baw escaping the heat, and we stopped here to have a look after driving past it a lot lately.Dad went solo on this one as the Queen liked the cool of the shade where the car was parked, and I did too just quietly.Anyway, I found what I thought was a trail up to GZ, but it turned out to be a rocky slippery slide, but I got there in the end, to be presented with so many horizontal mines that were obviously made by midgets.A bit of a search later and I found the cache and signed my name in the dry logbook, thanks to the double bagging.and emptied all the water out of the container.Interesting location this.
Sorry, I found this one yesterday in a caching run with NWY2010 but didnt have time to log it. The cache was a MASSIVE hike- the terrain should be about a 4 or 5? Definitely shouldve worn shoes instead of thongs. Thanks for the adventure!
My partner dalerious already had this one, so it was me that climbed the incline to search for the cache. Plenty of mines to be seen. Cache found in good condition. Thanks again grayboy33. It was that time of year again, although a different monarchs birthday to celebrate. Who would have thunk it that we would celebrate a Kings birthday this year, instead of our dearest Queen's. Spending the long weekend with our muggle friends in Jamieson . Saturday was spent hitting a small ball around a soggy manicured expance of lawn at Mansfield, and Sunday was caching day . This year we brought the Hilux, and I was itchin' to turn silver to tan.We achieved that by picking the road to Licola. The road was average to the Mt Sunday and Silvermine Spur tracks. It all turned to the proverbial past that intersection, but we pushed on after one of the party left their vehicle at the parking point at the aforementioned intersection, and hopped in the other vehicle in the group. It was an awesome drive in the mud, but there were a couple of members that were none too happy with the conditions, so we got up to Mystery Stone Hut and then turned back to Jamieson . There were a few incidents on a few of the tracks around the area this weekend. When we got back to "the intersection" to pick up the other car, there was a group of guys with an assortment of 4wd's pulled up, some with slight damage to their vehicles due to one of their party coming adrift and ending up in a tree. They ended up breaking 2 winches as well as a multitude of snatch straps [xx(].There were 2 caches up Mt Sunday track that I wanted, dalerious got ftf on them before we met, so I was looking forward to going to get them myself, but this was not the weekend to do it; too much rain meant things could end badly, and we would also be just another statistic. Just not worth it.So our group of 2 cachers and once a year honorary group of cachers (muggles) went on to find other doable caches instead. This made the timid passengers happy, so it was win, win all the way.We didn't sign many logs this weekend, but we sure as hell had a good time, seeing some awesome sights and spending some quality time with good people .

With a forecast of strong wind and more rain later in the day, we set out for a morning of caching to the south of Mansfield. It was a treat to open such a fresh dry log - thanks Victourer! Found a couple of interestingmines here.
Not so sure the TR of 2.0 adequately reflects the approach to this cache - it's steep and boy, are those rocks slippery.
Thanks to grayboy33 for adding this cache to the gameboard.

Thanks for the cache Grayboy33, we booked in for dinner at the Jamieson pub tonight 730, a late seating because they are busy and short-staffed aswell. We checked out a campsite at Doctors Creek and then pulled over by the bridge and played a game of cards, and of course I felt obliged to check out the nearby cache. You're right it's an interesting area I discovered about 4 gold mines but being so wet wasn't willing to put my life on the line exploring. Found the cache very wet and not taking the ink of my pen but I scratched the date and name in the sodden paper and will try to return tomorrow with a dry notepad. regards from Victourer
On a bit of drive decided to stop for a look at the river.
Found out that a cache was nearby, so set off to find it.
Cache had some water in it but the log was dry enough to sign.

A great scramble to find this one. Up close and personal with the mining tunnels, very exciting cache!
Just to add a bit more difficulty to this, I did it in the rain. It amazing the little hidden gems you find just off the tracks. Thanks for directing me to this
Have attempted this one a few times over the years but always muggles around. Finally grabbed it today. Tftc!
Nice and (a little too) easy.
( Cache was in the middle of the path.)
Hidden it properly.

Found with my muggle mates and families on our annual Queens Birthday long weekend expedition.
Saturday is the boys traditional trophy event golf game played at the nearest coarse to wherever we are staying. This year we found flash accomodation at "Hygge on the Hill" in Goughs Bay and enjoyed the fairways of the Mansfield Golf club, both I recommend highly. [^]
Sunday I take us all out caching which as everyone knows is the very best tour guide. This was another cache that proved the wisdom of this well unplanned tradition and we enjoyed the scurry up the hill to claim it.
TFTC greyboy33.
I drained the cache container of the water it had collected but the log in its plastic baggie was found clean and dry. [8)]
All caches handled with sanitised hands only and we didn't lick anything. [8)]

On a 3 day camping adventure with ilukaperi to test out her new Suzuki Jimny.
The little car carried all our worldly possessions and won our hearts over (except for the fuse box that fell out, the blue smoke it was blowing, the doors that would occasionally lock us in, the radio that wouldn't stay on and various other things that we made a list for her mechanic). But hey, its a cool little car.
This one did take a while. Strange spot, but interesting. Plenty of vertical mine shafts around that aren't secured to capture the unwary geocacher. Thanks for bringing me here, I think.

On a 3 day camping trip with my new little geo4wd, oh, and day1976 of course too.
Today we were heading up from woods point to Jamieson and then down back near Marysville to camp again.
We headed up the slope, I chose the way previous finders must have gone as the slope was worn a way a little, and the slightly worn path brought us to a few mines. The gps was being unhelpful but we realised we did need to go a bit further up the slope so very carefully skirted around all the mines, watch out for vertical ones!
We hunted around until I came around the correct side of a tree and spotted the elusive cache.

Staying at Goughs Bay over the Christmas/New Year break and traveled down to the Kevington Pub for lunch today which allowed me to grab a cache for my streak.
Took me a while to find as my gps was going around in circles under all these trees but eventually it settled down and I could make the find. I also struggled a little climbing the slope in my thongs
**Thanks for placing this cache grayboy33**

Staying at Kevington for a weeks camping in 40° heat- Lucky we are beside the river. A quick find on our way into Jamieson. These hills seem to be full of gold mining history. TFTC
Found with -Mountain Goat- and Beanslayr while travelling for the Christmas break. Thanks for the cache!
#1180 - Back home for a few days over Christmas and that meant an overnight trip to Woodspoint with the family picking up some caches along the way.

TFTC! After a careful look around the area myself and young bloke came to find this cache which is still there and in good order, the old mine shafts were cool and something worth looking at. You never know what you may find when searching for caches!
Beautiful area and great spot for a picnic, not too hard to find but as owner says watch your step and look out for the mines. Great cache
We were heading home from Granny's Flat near Jamieson following the Upper Goulburn River via the Mansfield-Woods Point road and decided to break the trip up by tackling a couple of caches along the way. This was the first (of two) we found today as the area was free of muggles/campers etc so we could search without being observed. After a bit of a scramble up the hill I managed to locate the cache even though the GPS was still telling me the GZ was 11m away which was probably due to the tree cover playing havoc with the GPS. You could say I stumbled upon the cache rather than finding it. Regardless, a find is a find!

Gold mine of tyres.
That is what Clever Monkey found with today's accent on 4wd adventure.
We also found
Gold mine of adventure.
Gold mine of death.
Gold mine of quartz.
All neighbouring each other.
And only meters aways from unsuspecting Labour Day Weekend campers.
Of course they watched us disappear in the night bushes from the comfort of their "banana" lounges, and while they could always see our flickering torches and hear our voices, they were most surprised to hear of our glowing adventure so close to their tent.
So if you want to check out a good set of 4wd, off road, in storage, tyres.
Come here to the
Gold mine of tyres
Above the
Gold mine of quartz.
Right next the
Gold mine of death.

It was interesting to meet quite possibly the smartest camping people we would see today. Now ok it is a day visitor area but this young couple were most surprised when we pulled up next to their camp and said Hello, don't mind us we are geocaching. You're Geo what they said. geocaching was the reply and with a brief explanation A banana and I wandered of into the dark of night by the glow of phone torches. At first we questioned the likelihood of the caching being so far from the road given all the other caches. But soon enough we plunged up the hill into the scrub and while dodging holes in the ground and checking out other holes sideways we came across a well concealed cache bang on where the cords said it would be. Thanks for many enjoyable caches today, this was to be our last before heading home.
