Given I couldnt be at last weekends events in Canberra, I made sure I was at this Saturday event (GCAV8M4). I did it as an overnight trip. I left straight after work on Friday and arrived at my motel. After my night sleep, I headed off for Bfast and then over to Fyshwick to find some caches over there. This also included a great Earth Cache. Next it was time to head to the event. Another nice fun event to attend. I also finally got to say happy bday to Toy Hunters. After the event I found a couple of nearby caches. From here I headed off to get lunch. After lunch I headed off to find some caches around Bowning along a quiet back road and a couple of others along the way to Boorowa. Now time to head home. It was a great overnight trip away. Visited and signed with catnap777. We were first to sign the replacement log on Canberra's Second Toughest Challenge. Qualifying to log it was a whole other thing. That was back on 20/10/23 and since then we have both been diligently working on challenge after challenge from cached signed on that trip till at last we can log this one as "found" from home in Victoria. When I was in Canberra a couple of weeks ago I didn't qualify for this one but I did sign a few high D/T challenges and I was hopeful that I would qualify for them and in turn qualify for this one. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave me a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown me so many new and interesting places as Ive chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached with them and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Today we drove all over Canberra, firstly filling a couple of D/T grid squares before focusing on finding favourites. Afterwards we took a tour around Lake Burley Griffin in this superb walking weather. Some wonderful places visited and caches found, it was a most enjoyable way to spend the day. Another fantastic day here in Canberra, the locals have certainly turned the wonderful weather for the event, maybe they had a chat with the Lord Above. We did not find many caches today but they certainly are quality caches. We signed a couple of challenge caches that we do not qualify for but found many others that we do qualify for and signed. The event last night was fantastic with loads of people to chat with. SL TFTCThis happened for us yesterday, yippee. It was a lot of hard work to reach this total in a matter of days over the mega. My thanks go out to our travel companions, Brisal5 and AnyMules who also needed to find a few remaining caches to qualify for this one. After my morning paddle it was time to grab a few more challenge caches as my time in Canberra was running out. This was one of the challenge caches on my list that I managed to find and sign. Qualifying log to follow in due time. Nice bush walk to GZ.

We are first to sign the replacement log on Canberra's Second Toughest Challenge. Qualifying to log it is a whole other thing. Visited and signed with catnap777. We got smart and did what we could of the "walky" caches on our wish list at the start of each day leaving our afternoons/evenings for finding driveby caches and challenges to sign. This was very much an afternoon one. When we left for home, we had quite a collection to sort out. Again we had a long list and a tight schedule, and again we have been amazed at what we can achieve in the time we have. TFTC&Challenge TikvaNZ.

Cache found and log signed with dalerious . We came to Canberra with an immense and impressive list of caches.There was a huge variety and types, covering Yass and Goulburn as well .The priority for us this trip, was to sign as many Challenge caches as we could.There were many we had to hike for . There were a few that were not found which was disappointing, but plenty that were found and signed.Some beautiful country was covered by foot and vehicle, and we had a ball.I will be using this generic log for all of the Challenge caches, but I will mention if there was an issue with the hide, container or log where possible .Please accept my humble thanks for all CO's effort on placing out these awesome Challenges for us to find, sign and one day qualify for.I have logged all as a Write Note, and I will duly log them as Found as I start to work through them all .

Checked on the cache and it appeared to be missing - most likely dropped right down into the stump out of reach. A replacement cache is now in place.

After some hard work in the last couple of weeks I rewarded myself with an extra day of caching. As I was in Canberra anyway I worked on my d/t grid and did a lot of adventure labs. Good fun and great weather!

Hi Day One.
My son and I New Year trip turn into drive into NSW and beyond. Today was more about driving. I found 9 today with few DNF. Oh well they do happen.
The breakdown was a mystery, community event, traditional, multi and adventure lab.

Day Two.
We carry on heading south down Newell highway grabbing more caches. Stopping for old and some new virtual, plus more non traditional for a challenge. Unfortunately some of those prove hard to find.
I had lots of fun doing earthcache they brought us to some wonderful places.

I found 26 today the breakdown was 3 virtual, 3 earthcache, 5 traditional and 3 adventure labs with 15 waypoints.

Day 3

Heading towards Mt Buller

After early start we started grabbing caches along the Newell highway to get more LGA cover.
I found 28 today with a lot of driving. The breakdown is 6 traditional, 9 virtual, (most I found in a day) 2 mystery, earthcache plus 2 adventure lab with 10 waypoints.

Day 4

Back up the mountain to finish of what I started. I was 5 later yesterday to get the photos.
After that I grab more caches around the Mt Buller Village. Plus I found one old traditional, it is in the oldest 5.
With finds total was 12. The breakdown is 5 traditional, 5 virtual, multi and at not least a webcam.(finally).
After we finished on the mountain we started to head to Canberra.

Day 5 Canberra

Early start today chasing caches for a challenge cache that I need for my next loop. Considering my first caching trip was fly in fly out. This time maybe little bit longer. Still not much longer need to be home in couple of day.
I found 25 today. The breakdown was 16 mystery, 6 virtual, earthcache, wherigo, traditional. Plus couple of DNF.

Leaving day for Canberra to Yass. I had a few kayaking ones on the list but not enough time for all. I DNF 2 but a CO gave permission to log it. I found the wire where the cache was. Then I headed to a event to meet up Canberra caching community. Two of them I knew from Brisbane who have move back here.
I did some caching around the park then headed to Yass to stay the night.

I found 20 today. The breakdown was 10 mystery, 6 traditional, 2 multi, letterbox and a event.

In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

After a little more sorting through our storage unit in Mitchell, we decided to come for a walk along the Lyneham Ridge eucalypt Trail.
From where we parked, a faded sign reads “eucalypt trial”! Perhaps it was once a trial, however now it is definitely a Trail, and a very beautiful one which we had never walked along before.
We were a little surprised to see that we qualify for this challenge, given most of our higher D/T finds would have been some years ago now for the ACT.
But the checker gives us a green light, and also the opportunity to read down and reflect on some of the hides that gave us a lot of fun along the way.

Down from the cenny coast for a solo novo geocaching trip in the first week of January - a great way to start the year I say. I'd decided to specifically hit Yass and CBR for a few days. I'm heading back home this morning but picking up a couple (including this one) on the way out.

I was keen to see where I might be at with this challenge by the end of this trip as I'd previously noted a sum DT of 192 stars at 1126 finds back in Mar 2020, and I knew that I hadn't really cached in the ACT since then. But turns out I've made a good haul these last few days and so am happy to say that we finally qualify for this epic challenge!

I have to say that Canberra/ ACT would have to be the richest area for diverse difficulty and terrain, for cache types, and would also have to claim the prize for the most consistently great and entertaining puzzles, at least that I know of. Canberra: it's been great, and I cannot wait to come back to the ACT now that I've made a good start here and have gotten to know the area a bit better. TFTC and challenge, TikvaNZ. How can one not award a FP for this challenge alone.

Noticed yesterday that I had completed this challenge recently and today after work I decided to stop by and grab the cache. On the short walk from the car to the cache I saw 2 Currawongs who didn't move despite me walking within half a metre of them, a mob of Kangaroos within 10m of the cache, and a rabbit which dashed across the path on my way back. A lovely spot and easy find.

As yet we don't quite qualify for this but took the opportunity of gorgeous weather to take a walk in an area new to us. Have signed the log and hope to qualify in the next yew months.

Just checking to see what I need to qualify for some of my incomplete challenges and found that I finally qualify for this one. Thanks for setting this.

With the boys at their Dad's this weekend, it was a perfect opportunity to head to Canberra for some 'light' caching with fitzy_1965.

After a late night talking all things caching with Smittengranny, we had a lazy Sunday morning before all heading off for a day of caching around the City. We had written a list of our aims for the day and once those were ticked off we tackled some of the many labs still on offer.

Had checked on this one a while ago to see if I qualified and was surprised to see that I was close. Recently checked again and glad to see that I now qualified so today decided to swing by and sign the log.

Wow a high D/T rating on a relatively easy cache to achieve and find. When I saw this cache last night I checked to see it I qualify and I do. I needed a mystery and a multi today so why not head out on a quiet morning to grab it. It was an easy wander from my car to find and sign the log. TFTCC TikvaNZ Cache is in good condition A FP for publishing a challenge that I managed to achieve without hard work.
