Day five of the Geo Tour adventure. The others had to head home so I’m travelling solo today to gather some adventure labs and other caches around the area.

Spotted the cache on arrival at Ground Zero. Accessing the cache however was a slight challenge looking for the best way to avoid scratches and injury. Log signed? and on my way.

Thanks wozzle68 for the cache.

TFTC. We were out exploring the BSRT. On our way toward Scarsdale we deviated on this old road to locate the bridge. We had been here quite some time ago and failed dismally. Today we were determined and very quickly we had the cache in hand. Cannot understand how we missed it last time

After a crazy year, it’s time to get away for a bit of R&R, and of course a cache or two.
Day four.
Siri had a bit of trouble here and tried to make me go cross country.
Soon found the correct way in, and cache was found easily. I did however skewer my leg on a low broken branch. War wounds of caching hey.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, wozzle68

Clue... Should be easy. How many of these are there! The road is only drivable from the south direction

28-Oct-20
Looking around the area on my map, I spotted a green dot that I hadn't found yet. How have I not found this cache with all the other smileys around it? Time to correct that I think!! A nice easy find at Gz, and then a bit of a relaxing look at the creek. Cigc. Tftc

A slight detour on the way home. Quick find had us back on the road not before taking in the scenery tftc

What a totally pretty hidden spot. Sadly the cow or tge stone wall fencing couldn't help us. Sharp drop to the water behind pretty blossom tree but could not find. No worries stop really worth ut

Such a pretty view!

16-Jun-19
Heading across to Ballarat and was able to find a few caches along the way.

How many forks can a tree have?
We expected to look up to a fork not down.
We liked the old stone fence on the west side parallel to the road.
Thought that was as significant as the bridge.

Found by Mary and David at 1500. Another beauty. You cam almost hear the sound of horses hooves along here. We overshot the entrance when TomTom told us that there was another entrance closer to GZ which proved to be non-existent. The old bluestone blocks, weathered posts and old stone fences. So dry, but the hawthorns are bursting with bright red berries. A FP awarded. Our thanks to wozzle68.

A nice old bridge just sitting there. Had no ph reception here but found the cache ok. TFTC

Who can resist an old bridge and bonus I can drive right down to it too.
A nice cool morning to be out here heading for Skipton picking up a few on the way.
Got a tad scratched but logged okay and headed off again.
Thanks wozzle

Well that was fun... found it but took a little while to extract!!

With a nice change of cooler weather today after the heatwave it was good to get out and find a few 4wd caches in this area with Theo the geodog. This was our twelfth find for the day. We were heading to Nimmons Bridge but couldn't resist stopping here to clear the green spot on the map. Initial gps bearings had put me fair in the middle of the creek 15m away from the bridge. Thank heavens it settled down and put us back up on top where we found your cache! Thx Wozzle68 for another interesting cache location. CIGC TNLNSL.

18-Dec-18
It interesting what you find just off the beaten track. The recent weather had caused the cache to move into an interesting place to extract it, however with a bit of perseverance and blood loss the cache was in hand, log signed and returned to a less difficult home. TFTC

13-Nov-18
I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find this cache because I was under strict supervision of a number of cows who were obviously not impress with my progress going by the comment the were making. The pressure was on. After a very brief search and a sneaky peek at the him when I thought the cows weren't looking I found the cache. was glad to leave the place and the cows. The cache was OK, TFTC.

This is certainly an interesting bridge, it is a shame that it is living it's life out here without any one taking interest in it and placing a sign near the entrance to the old road. The tree that is protecting the cache container is doing a great job of looking after it, those thorns are deadly. SL TFTC

11-Oct-18
Doing the long drive from Yackandandah to Mortlake and we needed to stop and let the dog have a run. This was a good excuse to find a geocache at the same time. This one gave the dog a chance to stretch its legs away from the main road. TFTC

04-Aug-18
Out and about filling in time until the CO's Birthday Event we picked up a few caches in the area that had popped up since our last visit.
Whoops, we overshot the turn off, so a U-turn was necessary up the road to come back and try a second time to make our way up Old Pitfield Road. Had a look around the old bridge before seeking out the cache.
Thanks wozzle68 for making us take notice of this interesting historic bridge.

22-Jul-18
Blink and you miss the turn-off. But we found it, parked and walked in the last 300m. Later in the day, we saw the street and bridge from above, from the BSRT.

En route from Warrnambool to Ballarat, heading for the Warrenheip Creek CITO, making time for a couple of detours to appease our cache addiction. A nice old piece of infrastructure here which we shared with a gold prospector.

Thanks 'wozzle68' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Found It........While sitting down having breakfast this morning It was decided to head north to chase some caches. After setting off we pulled up near GZ and the search commenced and soon after the cache was in our hand and with the log signed we continued on our journey. Thanks wozzle68 for the cache

A fun cache find along the olde road Smile
And while the cows took an interest in me antics,
from the other side of the fence,
I soon tracked down this annoyingly hard to retrieve cache Big Grin

Found the cache its is well hidden, left Pathtag, cache is damp but could sign name. Old Pitfield road be aware there is a dead end at this a gate that can not be opened maybe too old so back the way we came. As this morning We said Good bye to Warrnambool and to our daughter sad for mum saying goodbye to her wish we could stay longer and headed home today casually driving do a few caches site seeing who knows where we will end up tonight. That's the plan just drive where we feel and cache when we see one here and there limited on time, doing caches close to the road today. TFTC

Back for another look after being shown up by Cybergran, success!

08-Oct-17
Luckily I found this one today, as the last cacher had left a DNF, and it's always good to let the next prospective finder know it is still there. Replaced ziplock bag as the previous one was disintegrating.
Thanks for showing me another part of the history of this area via geocaching

08-Oct-17
Searched the most obvious tree with no luck.

16-Sep-17
A call from my good caching mates the suscoe cachers to see what I was doing today set the scene for today starting in Geelong up through the Enfield Forest, Linton, Smythesdale, Lake Burrumbeet, Lexton, Waubra and back down the highway to Gordon and then back to Geelong through Ballan and Anakie.
Now that is a lot of kilometres but we cleaned up a lot of outstanding caches and with no DNF’s or the need to PAF. A great day’s caching and with no rain.
After a lot of rain this little road had a lot of water on it and at GZ it was very wet but the container was soon found, signed and we were off to the next on our list.
Thanks wozzle68 for placing this cache.

Suscoe headed out early today in the great company of Bushfire for an adventure to the Ballarat area and beyond.
It was a pleasant day with a good bit of sunshine, some cloud from time to time and a mild temperature, spring time must be slowly getting here!
We were in good spirits after last night's performance by the CATS!!!!!!!
We enjoyed finding a range of caches in various locations.

Thanks to wozzle68 for this hide, looked down first and then looked for the cache and found it.
A quiet spot out here. A lone rabbit was watching us.

Joint {ftf} with kenbryl and Muggle Annie. I asked them if they wanted to try for a ftf when I picked them up from school and they both excitedly agreed. It was Muggle Annie's first ever first to find so she was pretty keen. Kenbryl explained on the way what ftf is. The girls are getting pretty good at navigating too! Tftc
