Well we had a good look here. We surveyed successfully and found the suspected item. However, there was a bison-sized hole and no cache container to be seen. We feel very sure this cache is missing in action. Note sent.
Very happy to find this cache as I've looked for it before without success. Spot is a tad overgrown and it was a bit dark last visit. Many thanks tmann421 for another cunning hide. Cache in good nick.
Found tonight with Nanniekerr and my great nephew who joined us for a ride. He found the hint
A nice quick find of another sneaky tmann hide while out and about in this area this afternoon. Nice and simple due to a good hint.

Took a careful survey in the gloaming to find the right spot. Signed the fresh log, TFTC tmann421!
Out to get a cache today for the world record. It had been pouring with rain all morning then suddenly there was a break so I dashed out. Luckily this is the closest cache to my house (I don't know why I haven't got it before). Found the cache easily, could only really be in one place, great idea too. Log too wet to open, was already starting to fall apart, so took a picture instead. TFTC
Enjoying another bike ride on the Expressway trail with friends on a perfect day. Another clever hide from tmann421. Was fooled on my first circuit, then read the hint and returned to claim it!
Still in the area, but slowly heading south... Parked up at Raumati down by the beach this afternoon, and headed out for a quick bike ride for a couple of caches. Another cool hide here, appreciate the effort in setting these up along the trail, TFTC
Found after I parked car and walked down kiwi road. Left pen I car will go back and log later
We walked from Kiwi Rd to reach this cache, noting there has been recent flooding, however the nicely hidden cache was safe and sound, and quickly found with the hint. A favourite from us. TFTC
Staying in the area with my brother at present, and we took his geodog for a walk, and looked for two caches. Couldn't find the first one, but this was definitely there, in a great spot. A favourite from me, TFTC
On a bike ride to Waikanae, very cute hide. A favourite point from junior.
Thanks!
Thanks!
now that I'm a premium member I am able to award favourite points, so I'm awarding some to the more memorable and enjoyable caches that I've found, added a favourite point for this one for the nice hide
Quick cycle along the shared pathway to find this one, initially shot past it as you cover a lot more distance on a bike than walking, cache found quickly, liked the hiding spot, well done, TFTC
An early morning start to ride the bike on Expressway Cycle / Walkway to find some more caches before a meeting in Foxton. The track was quite busy this morning. Thanks tmann421 for the cache.
Found by little blue hen. Dropped my pen while searching for the previous cache (DNF) Photo of last two log entries attached.
Found while on a stroll with bkj97. He posted a photo as he dropped the pen somewhere. Clever placement. Favourite added. T4tc
Had a really good search by the stormwater hatch and in the bush but no luck.
On checking caches in the area where i was going i saw these three caches so i thought i would visit these but when i got there i remembered parking in the exact same cul de sac and walking the exact same tracks of the older two of them so on my way to the new one i past the first one and re signed that and then walked on to the new track. I was amazed at the new bridge across for the cycle way etc and the new cycle way path that i followed to GZ This was a quick find with the name of the cache to help. and it was soon signed and replaced. thank you for this cache and another smiley face. Another clever cache and deserves a fav point from me.
Day Ten of a 12 day, 3000 km road trip around the North Island with the primary objectives being the Taupo Ultra Marathon on the 13th and my first ever caching Mega event in Wellington on the weekend of 20th & 21st. With thousands of possibilities for caches to look for on the way, I had to be very selective and decided to concentrate on special types, solved puzzles, ones that would fill missing spots in my statistics grids and those with good numbers of favourite points, plus maybe a few extras that were close by those.
Today was the second Mega event day and after attending the Kevin Anderson pilgrimage event and finding the oldest NZ cache, plus the remaining lab caches, we headed north to Kapiti to catch up with our daughter. Another nice day today and still no sign of any rain to interfere with caching activities. An amazing streak of weather.
I needed eighteen more caches further than 500 kms from home for the so far away challenge, so set out on a local mission to try and get them in the two hours before our dinner appointment. Next up was this one, and after pulling up reasonably nearby, jogged along the trail and across the bridge and promptly had to duck for a very low incoming Cessna. I was surprised at how low it seemed...!! Further along the trail, this cache took a little while to find, as it was quite cleverly concealed. Log was signed and then returned safe and secure, ready for the next finder. TFTC

Another great hide and another favourite given. The last of the day and I will be back to get the rest of the series. TFTC tmann.
Ooo, that will deal with a serious amount of stormwater! I love how wetland has been protected in the construction of the expressway. A young girl asked me if I was ok here, so rather than just giving the short answer I told her all about geocaching. She seemed very interested. I wondered why she wasn't at school but that kind of thing worries me less and less these days. Another great hide. Thanks!
I woke up this morning to find that that the rain predicted for the day was nowhere to be seen. And so the day I thought was going to be spend lounging around doing nothing turned into a very nice day spent wandering around Queen Elizabeth Park and Raumati, collecting caches I had wanted to try for, and a few Puzzle Caches I had worked out a while ago.
So having just spent a pleasant few hours soaking up some sun whilst wandering all over QE Park, it was now time to try for a few caches around Raumati. Having never been caching here before, there was quite a few to choose from!
I actually ended up at this one by chance rather than design. It was getting late in the day, with the sun having just set by the time I decided to head off home. Looking at the map I thought Kiwi Road would be a shortcut to getting to the Motorway on-ramp, but it turned out to be a dead end for cars. So seeing as I was here anyway I decided to jump out and have a crack at getting a couple of nearby caches including this one. Walking up to GZ, I wasn't sure about the Hint until I walked around the structure and then just laughed! Nice little hide. Everything is fine with it, so it was a quick sign of the log and then time to finally set off home again.
Thanks for placing this cache, and I will try to make the effort to walk the whole track soon and grab the other ones in this series

Another good hide here but also another quick find, I spotted something that required further investigation fairly quickly upon arrival at GZ. Logbook signed and cache replaced as found.

This was another neatly hidden cache. The only reason it wasn't a quick mission was that we had to wait for a few muggles to move on to create a gap.
My third visit to the Kapiti EWY shared walking and cycling track. This time we started at the southern end and then cycled north to the point we had reached on our last visit. Finding caches as we went. This was one of those.
I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder.
A straightforward find. Another nifty hide. Cache all in order.
Log signed, then cache safely re-hidden, just as found.

The Turtle strikes again!

A fair way south of where I started now but the bike makes relatively short work of getting around along here. A nicely hidden cache but nevertheless a quick find. TFTC.
Dad & I went for a walk around here this morning before it got too busy with muggles...
Thanks for placing all these cool caches along the Expressway. Found it in a gap between cyclists and dog-walkers.
Nicely hidden.

Out for a stroll to stretch the legs and pick up some of the caches along this part of the walkway. Nice and easy find. Log signed and with the cache returned it was back along the walkway to the next one. TFTC
I have walked past this 3 times so far this week so fourth time lucky under cover of darkness and no muggles cache was quickly found and log signed. Nice hide. Cache secure and dry. TFTC
I took my youngest son up to Wellington in the camper van. I dropped him off at his friend's house where he will stay. Meanwhile I get to geocache and be on standby.
After staying at Greytown and spending another day in the Wairarapa, it was time to head to The Hutt area.
Son number two got dropped off at the airport. Hubby got picked up.
I needed to get the Camper's clutch checked out at Miro Auto Repairs. Once we got the all clear it was time to continue our adventure. We stayed in Paraparaumu last night.
Hubby stayed at the campground and chilled out, while I went biking and geocaching. Win, win.

Thanks. tmann421 for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 5468 for me.
Last of five found in this neighbourhood this afternoon on a walk with the geohound. Reasonably quick find of the neatly tucked-away cache. #1640. TFTC.
A really enjoyable cycle ride with the EU Crew and drawp allowed us to collect a few caches en route. TFTC
Staying in Raumati for a couple of days. Parked up on Matai road and went for a walk along the new cycle way and looped back down Kiwi Road. Had a fair idea on what I was looking for and duly spotted. Thanks for the cache.
Walking along Wharemauku stream from Raumati to Pram I realised there's a cache nearby. Nice and easy find. TFTC
Much easier than I'd expected given that my phone was suggesting that GZ was several metres into the swamp.

Was in Wellington for the day and needed a cache for the day so decided that I would get up nice and early as I needed to go to Kapiti and see a client so it made sense that this was a good opportunity to go and find a cache.
Decided that I would check google earth and satellite view and see if I could find the closest entry to GZ, but in the end I decided to settle on Kiwi Road and decided that this was most likely going to be my best option.
The walk to GZ this morning was very pleasant as there werent too many muggles around and this was quite good, the walk to GZ really didnt take as long as I thought that it would even though the first part of the walk had me walking away from GZ. Finally arriving at GZ, it was so obvious where the cache was going to be near and after a quick search I soon spotted the very clever hiding spot for the cache, retrieved signed and then replaced the cache back as found.
Thanks for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this lovely walkway, TFTC TNLNSL (12424), now time to go back to the car and go and see my client, should be perfect timing for my meeting.

Out on a nice sunny winter's day with my wife for a bike ride of the Expressway cycle trail. This one nice and easy near the start of the ride and caching.

Had to go to Otaki today and the weather was excellent, so I put the bike in the vehicle and set aside some time to find some caches along the new expressway. Excellent accurate coordinates enabled a very quick find here. Signed log, TFTC
Thanks for the cache. This is our find number 721 and we found it at 12:03:06 PM NZST on 28 May 2017 while walking the new paths on the Expressway.
2.20pm. Now back to the car to move on to the next batch, but the rain came and sent me home. Nice quick find here.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Found on a delightful cycle ride from Poplar Avenue to Pekapeka and return. An interesting ride and which will become quite plesant as the planting grow. TFTC
Straightforward find -forgot to pack a pen (oops!), so photo evidence supplied. Great day for riding and caching.
Cache # 3,742 - A nice evening for a walk, and an instant find at the GZ. No one around tonight. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Consecutive caching day # 1,447

I returned this afternoon to explore the Expressway Shared Pathway. A good excuse to get out and enjoy the autumnal sunshine. I walked in from Kiwi St. I got to GZ to discover my pen had given up the ghost. I did manage to sort of scratch my name on the logsheet though.Cheers and TFTC
Set out on the cycle-way from home in Raumati, this was our first stop. Geokids #2 found quickly using his geosenses. TFTC
Once the rain had finally cleared I used this cache as an excuse for a bit of fresh air and pedalled out for a look.
A very good hide but quickly found. Thanks very much for the cache.

Find #2760. Today was my first experience of the Kapiti Expressway cycle way. Arrived at Waikanae on the first train of the day out of Wellington and cycled up a very quiet (old) State Highway One to Pekapeka to join the cycle way.
No doubt there will be more caches appearing north of here (and further south) in due course - a good excuse to cycle this more than once!
Despite an inclement weather forecast, the day turned out to be very pleasant with plenty of others out enjoying the walk.
Another clever hide. Smelt a bit stronger than stormwater though! Twelfth of the day SL TFTC

A dot day today, so I came out to pick up a couple of tmann's cycle/walkway caches. I parked in Kiwi Road for this one and had a very pleasant walk to GZ. Then I had to wait for ages for a number of cyclists to pass - spent quite some time surveying the wetlands until the coast was clear. Grabbed the cache (nice camo job) signed the log, then had to wait another age for some pedestrians to pass (pretend phone call, photos, admiring the wetland again). Finally, it was safe to replace it and I was on my way. Tftc.
A quick find here, as with most of the caches on this route I had to be wary of passing cyclists though it wasn't quite so difficult to avoid their gaze here.
This is the last of your caches on the walkway I did today, I look forward to other 27 or so you indicated in a found log that you have ready!

A quick find while retrieving the caches on the southern part of the expressway path. A nice hide. All in order. TFTC
#9033. {FTF} at 05:24. Returned for another walk to further explore another section of the expressway cycleway / walkway that we had not been on before. This time in Raumati Beach. The tracks and GZ were all quiet at this time. Quick find. Nice hide. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
