With the original hide compromised, this just ain’t the same and lost it’s purpose and significance.. regrettably archived..
Found it.. super easy find. We usually stop here for Tazzy Rockz and today we did both
#9934 - 3:08:00 PM; Making our way from Hawley Beach to Launceston and stopped along the way for some caches. This one was located and all was in good order. Blends in well here. TFTC dankpig
A very nice place to stop. Beautiful pine tree and waterfront. Had fun finding this one! TFTC!
A beautiful place to contemplate the lose of young lives because of war.

Found as part of the 2019 Palaver, including all sectional leaders. A top weekend and shows a great deal of support and diversity that scouts have to offer. Collected several additional caches before dinner.

YAAAH!!!! I have driven past three times to find muggles in attendance, but, today I was able to stop and make the find. Lucky as the container was resting on the edge of the rocks obviously having fallen from it's perch. TNLN TFTC!
Found while the muggles played with their drone a metre away. Beautiful little stop. Thanks dankpig
Beautiful spot. Would have had our lunch here but the road kill was too smelly. Nice camo. TFTC!

We are on vacation in Australia and of course we seek some caches.
Thanks for this one!

I found the cache on the ground, but I placed it higher. Someone has placed a tie around a branch and it is cutting into the tree. I tried to cut it off, but my scissors were not up to it. I suspect the tie is metal. TFTC dankpig.
Interesting to find this on the shores of the Tamar, sad story and nice that we can remember him as we find a cache. TFTC.
What a sad story. Poor kid. Another great cache thanks Dankpig. I love your work!
What a great spot. I didn`t know it was here. Was good to get a photo of the plaque to add to the family tree. Thanks
Brilliant find and so appropriate for this ANZAC Day, remembering and honouring our fallen soldiers with a sense of wonder and mystery. Thank you for this one!
A very nice spot for a cache. As I arrived, there was a muggle couple sitting on the bench but as I searched the wrong side, they drove off. When I searched the right area, the cache was soon found. TFTC.
We have visited the West Tamar many times before as it is one of our favourite places in the north. Thanks for placing a cache in this lovely area.
We were up north with ausandaus2 on a caching trip. Staying very close to this Memorial. A very lovely and special spot. TFTC.
Back in Tassie finding caches that have been published since our visit.
A nice to visit, glad the tree has regrown and an easy find at GZ.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

A beautiful little spot down by the estuary
With a disturbing little memorial to be viewed too !!
The story behind the 'white feather' is not nice
In a way it was a kind of bullying tactic used back in WWI to get men to volunteer for military service,
and a likely death at an early age,
on foreign soil [:o]
The cache was found safe 'n' sound in its little cradle

Hi there dankpig.
We found your cache **"Norfolk Memorial"** at 1:26:00 PM today. (This brings our total find count to 18605).
The plan today was to log a few caches on the west side of the Tamar. Our usual plan of finding caches using the "next closest" method didn't seem to work though - as a few times the next closest was on the other side of the river. This one was a nice quick park-n-grab.
We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes on our journey & had an absolutely wonderful afternoon. We found 6 caches (& DNF'd 0).
Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places to visit on our nomadic wander around Australia.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

A gorgeous spot and a lovely memorial to a very brave young man. We loved the cache holder apparatus. Thanks dankpig for organising the cache. We seem to be doing a lot of your caches today. A favourite point from us.
Beautiful spot, I remember there being a cache here a few years ago. The cache is on great condition TFTC
Very familiar spot - been here several times in years gone by, picking up and dropping off frogs and gnomes, etc (GA caching games). Also more popular than I expected - I tried calling in around 6pm on three consecutive days before I found it unpopulated by muggles enjoying the ambience. TNLN. (Container was just a smidgeon too small for my customary halfpenny). TFTC.
Found on the ground not sure how it got down there but found its hidey hole and placed it back where it should be. Once again Dankpig this a great piece of craftmanship. Found on remembrance day was a fitting geocache for today. Tftc
Not the first time we have cached at this spot. A quick find by Mr Beetle before I even got out of the car.
Did find turning in here from the south a bit tricky but the vision either way was better getting out of there.
I did wonder if the previous cache we found here mentioned the history behind this place as I didn't recall any of it. What a great thing for the boy's uncle to do.
Thanks.

Another glorious day in the Tamar Valley, man I love living here. I'm on my way home from Beaconsfield and thought I should stop for a cache or two. This is a beautiful location.

Found cache in its nifty hide...cache in top nick. Last time here a muggle was parked fishing...but all clear today.
Lovely memorial tree which should last for ages. Tftc dankpig...cheers ST.

"Lone Pine" is a significant byword in Australian military history. This memorial demands respect as did the young Austin who no doubt falsified his age to give his life. What a sacrifice!!
A leave day and the sun was shining so caching we will go! Headed out to the Batman Bridge and then worked our way back towards Launceston. We didn't factor in school holidays so a couple of the caches we attempted will have to be left until another time but a fairly successful day overall. Wre'd tried this one before only to find people settled in at the picnic table nearby but got a clear run today and a quick find. Love the memorial, very sad for one so young so far away. BUT I do wish those responsible for plaques could check their spelling!!! TFTC
Hello dankpig thank you for the cache.
Junior EeePees was in Launceston doing some refereeing at some soccer games over the weekend so EeePees asked me if I wanted to join him for the weekend and see if we could find some caches while J.E.P. was refereeing. Of course I jumped at the chance to spend the weekend with such a great mate and find caches in and around Launceston.
This was my 22nd for the day and the 24th for the weekend.
This is a lovely spot and a great memorial to a fallen soldier. At GZ I first looked around the monument before reading the hint and going around and quickly finding the container. I did really like the cleaver hide.
My two boys have served in the armed services so I do appreciate the meaning behind these little memorials that are scatted around the country side.
I ended up with 28 caches today and 55 caches found over the weekend and one DNF.
