Finally it has come to this, the cache is lost to us! It is deceased and has gone to join the choir invisible, it is a non-cache. Vale BYOB15, your number will be deleted.
Looks like some of the construction site barriers are down. I've tried liasing with Curtin management to no avail, so I will drop by soon to see whether access is possible or indeed whether the cache is still there. Watch this space
Currently still behind barriers due to building upgrade work. I have contacted the Curtin ground management for update on building works but haven't heard back as yet. I'm unable to access area to check on the cache until I hear back. Please hold if possible as I'd like to get in to assess. I am in contact also with CO. Will continue to follow up.
Spot the cache! It is still there but it doesn't look like the work is finished yet! But there will be a time when we can play geocaching here again. In the fulness of time...
Well, it seems like Curtin University has given up on Geocaching. No answer yet to my enquiries. But I'm very happy to announce that SkyCat12 has Volunteered to take over the maintenance this cache.
I have temporarily disabled this geocache and requested Curtin University to advise me when it will again be accessible.
Fencing still up Could do with being disabled so it doesn’t appear in listings as available.
Still behind construction fencing, but at least the holes/trenches are refilled. Not sure how long this will be out of action, but it's still currently inaccessible
I checked in again this week and the cache is definitely still inaccessible. Fenced off. The renovation work on the host building looks like it will take a fair while too.
Hi all. Just FYI, this cache is currently fenced off as there's building work going on on the building the cache is attached to.
Whilst the work continues, the cache is inaccessible.

After a disappointing fail at my second Bump in the Night STT effort, Meme28 has brought me here for my first Mystery battery cache. So cool!

I loved this cache! So cool & clever! TFTC ️️️ found with Shannon after a volleyball game!
My family had the best weekend a few years back in Denmark collecting BYOBs and other Roymerc caches. One day on bicycles, the next venturing further out in the car. So many favourites. And so many smiles. And this is where the ingenuity all began! TFTC.
Made my way here during my lunchtime walk... Have found a couple BYOBs before, so no surprises here and have had the required tool stashed in the uni bag for a couple of weeks now. Thanks for a fun find roymerc (& Curtin Geocaching) - FP added to the tally
Loved finding caches from this series down in Denmark. Was super neat to find one at Curtin! Tftc
Found with Tank_Squad, awesome to see Roymerc caches up here in Perth, after doing most of the Denmark ones, looking forward to find more tftc
TFTC found with PinkChicken. We've done all of the Roymerc caches in Denmark and they're definitely some of our favourites, this was no exception.
Amazing. I think we have completed all of the BYOB caches in Denmark. It remains one of our favourite caching memories. We expected to be impressed today and were not let down. The BYOB series has actually inspired me to dust off the soldering iron and try to create an electromechanical gadget cache of my own. It's still just a prototype but I'm excited, we'll see. Thanks roymerc and Tara!
Our first byob. This was super cool- absolutely loved it.
I wish parking was this good every time I came here!

Patch was down south when Spot was riding the Munda Biddi and loved finding roymerc caches but Spot's never had the pleasure. Gee; what a beautiful piece of work here and makes our efforts look feeble in comparison. Thanks for setting this baby up and CUG for its maintenance. A FP for sure.
The Better Half and I were heading for Victoria Park and the stadium when I noticed this cache and remembered that I was prepared for it.
Parked nearby and found the cache without problems. Cache container obtained, log signed and cache returned as found.
Thanks roymerc for placing this cache for us to find.

I loved this. Ingenious. This is what keeps me in the game. Thank you for your effort. Awarded a fav well deserved
Finding a few caches around these parts, this cache was next on our radar... Not sure why it has taken us so long to come find this one, but we can say that we are very happy to have this one on our list of finds
We quickly spotted the object of interest & had a bit of head scratching going on before accessing the logbook [:o)] Not sure if it was operator error or that the battery was dodgy as it has been floating around since our last trip to Denmark!!!
Thanks for the fun roymerc & Curtin Uni

TFTC Such a cool cache!! Decided to check out this cache as I just found the specific battery at home yesterday
Up in Metro from deep South West having a couple of days away and grabbing some caches.
I had this one on my list but thought it may be difficult on a week day.
Mr dimor managed a parking spot about 25m away so a nice quick walk and find at GZ.
Another clever roymerc cache that is worthy of a fav point.

Awesome cache! I've heard about the BYOB series but haven't made my way down to Denmark yet so I was super excited when I saw the name of this cache! Great Job! Found with VegetableMemes and Schnappy96 TFTC
Found today with Schnappy96 and Geogypsys! One of the most creative caches I've ever seen! Loved it! TFTC!

In the area for a conference and made a specific shopping trip for a battery to try this cache out! What an ingenious mechanism. TFTC!!
Was at the Curtin curry night and was disappointed as I remembered there was a BYOB cache here, really wanted to show it to auspom67 but didn't bring a battery -or so I thought, quick double check of my basic cache stuff in my bag and yes I had a battery!! Now, to hope it still worked! But thankfully it did tftc have a favourite point on me
A nice quiet Saturday around the uni. Quick find and a brand new battery made quick work of the cache. Another enjoyable cache. TFTC.
We used a rechargeable 9v lithium battery(spot on 9v). It popped open like a dream. Always a pleasure to do one of Roys caches.
Thanks for the quality its refreshing after the nano proliferation that now seems the norm with geocaches.

After finding some of the CO's caches in Denmark a few weeks ago, I thought I would stop here to find this one too.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get it open. Perhaps I exhausted my battery on all the Denmark caches? I'll try again another time, with a new battery.

Found this one very, very late on a Sunday night/Monday morning as a bit of a break from an overnight study sesh. Absolutely awesome contraption and makes me want to get down to Denmark all the sooner!
Thanks for the cache roymerc, you and your caches are an asset to caching in WA! [^] Have a favourite for your effort!

Find 6 of 17, with three DNFs, on a sunny but COLD bike ride around Karawara, Manning and Curtin. All quick finds apart from the DNFs!
Some nostalgia! One of our first ever series was down in Denmark in 2012 and it got the kids interested, briefly. We're still going and still enjoy these very much. Came prepared and everything worked as advertised. Excellent stuff.
TFTC roymerc!

TFTC roymerc!
With a couple of grandchildren in tow, we had a couple of hours to scan the local neighbourhood for a smiley or two. Spent most of our time here, wandering the many roads and parking lots of Curtin, taking good advantage of having hardly a muggle in sight on this wet and windy Sunday afternoon.
This cache was the drawcard to bring us here - to show the little ones an example of the maesto's handicraft, and it certainly did not disappoint!
Many thanks for a great fun cache roymerc.

Picked up discarded 9v battery packaging at GZ. That was disappointing as it can only have been a dropped by a cacher. Another great offering from the maestro. TFTC roymerc & Curtin Geocaching for looking after it now that he has retired.
Out for burgers with NiceSpice and decided to go out for a bit of geocaching afterwards. Bought a 9V and went down to the uni to discover the cache. Pretty cool cache. TFTC!!!
Found this bad boy with TJWoolf! Been meaning to get around to grab this cache, surprisingly easy! So cool though!! TFTC Roymerc!
Our son had an appointment at the Uni this morning. What better way to fill in a morning than to grab some of the smileys on offer in the area, cheers and TFTC.
G’day there roymerc, I was in this area today and found your cache BYOB#15 Curtin Engineering GC72XMD. I added my name to the log book at 7:45 am on 28 April 2018. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!
This brings our total find count to 9527

Out and about on another smiley hunt with Neva2old, so armed with our batteries we headed here to play the game, an excellent cache that deserves a favourite point TFTC
Out and about with parkacruz, loved this cache so a fav point coming your way tftc
It’s certainly busy around here - even about 6pm. I love these - especially as we are familiar with the one in Denmark, and another variant on the Shire of Denmark building. What a hoot! A great sense of satisfaction to hear the tell tale click. I’m also glad it was in the shade this afternoon. A tad warm!
It's Back! A simple fault which needed a small adjustment and a drop of locktite to make sure it stays adjusted, and a lot of organisation to effect the change. Should be good for years now.
An Update:
Cache was repaired and returned to Curtin over a week ago. We are now waiting for the one and only Yardman who knows how to install it to come back from holidays!

I'm not having a good week! First Myst develops a fault, then someone jams BYOB1 and now the Curtin cache has stopped working. There will be an extensive delay while the Curtin Facilities staff unscrew the thing and post it down to me, Then I will try to find out what has gone wrong and, I hope fix it. Then AusPost will do its thing and gracefully if not speedily send it back for re-installation. Don't hold your breath!
TFTC that is the best hiding mechan8sm ive ever c9me actoss, a shame all the rest are in denmark.

Well we didn't BOB because we kindly left ours hidden at the last BOB cache in Rockingham for any unarmed searchers. We were doing others in the uni so decided to come have a look see anyway. We thought someone may have done the same as us but alas... not so! Love ur work.
Stopped off at the uni with Seemyshell for a few last caches. This was an awesome gadget cache, I haven't seen anything like it. Cache# 414 TFTC
Yet another amazing Roymerc cache!! BeckNMonts and I arrived at the same time that Rodney1210 and Seemyshell were just leaving. So they were kind enough to loan us their battery so I didn't have to search through my backpack. Took a bunch of photos, so so clever and just plain cool. Thank you for an awesome cache!
Out cycling with geo-bud hhheddy, who brought along required battery.
Thank you Curtin Geocaching!
Thank you Curtin Geocaching!
Out caching with Lazarus_68 for the afternoon, we combined the caching with some exercise by biking our way around the suburbs. Very nicely constructed cache. Many thanks roymerc and Curtin Geocaching.
What a great cache! Our first BYOB! We're off to Denmark on holiday in January & looking forward to doing more of this series! Tftc
A visit to the campus to check out the open day, say goodbye to a friend and grab some caches.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get another BYOB cache, the geo-sons didn't get to see #1 down in Denmark when we went down last year due to the torrential rain but were super excited to be able to see this one in action. A favourite from us.
Find 3 of 3 for today, TFTC

This was the first BYOB-style cache I have done. Very impressive!
Nice and quiet here this morning, so easy to park, find, sign and replace.
I'm looking forward to doing more of this style of cache sometime soon.
Thanks roymerc and Curtin Geocaching. A favourite point from me!

That was really fun finding this one in the dark with nobody around. I felt a little bit like James Bond, unlocking a secret of great national importance. Another great chapter in the Curtin University geocaching experience. TFTC
Was sent on an errand to the shops, informed the better half that I might do some hunting on the way home. Four hours later I was back with a handful of smilies.
Been meaning to have a go at this one for a while now, luckily I had the foresight to purchase a new battery while I was at the shops because the one in the car was cactus. Another superb construction by the master, awarding a favourite.
roymerc I found your cache at 2:57pm, this was the 4th of 7 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 4078. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

I had just finished a work meeting and had a few hours to spare before needing to be back for dinner so rang fellow Victorian Snap Happy who is over in WA at the minute to see if he wanted to team up (ie. pick me up and take me caching). He was most willing and so we spent a wonderful few hours chatting, laughing and gallivanting around. We met here as I had been at the uni for the past few days but didn't have the required tool. OMG - just brilliant. Absolutely loved this one - adding a fav for sure! Many thanks

*This was the cache that I had come to find today*...
My first roymerc cache. I had been told about this CO's caches when I was in SA and before I head down to Denmark, I thought I should see what they were on about. WOW Was not dissappointed.
A short stroll, a short search, found cache, **opened**, stamped and returned. Another favourite point coming your way.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment roymerc. Appreciate your effort.

Thanks for the cache roymerc. I enjoyed this one but unfortunately have no favourite points left after recently finding 5 duck43 caches in a row. I rode here early Sunday morning and the area was deserted. Didn't see any security cars either which was a relief as I didn't want to have to explain what I was up to. Well done on the construction of this!
Once again another great roymerc cache that Mr 4 yr old and miss 2yr old loved. Had to open the cache several times as Mr 4 was very intrigued on how it worked. Looks like we need to organise a holiday again to Denmark. Favourite point awarded. Tfth.
Was in the area this afternoon so made a detour to check out this cache.
Had my youngest with me so he did the honours. He remembered the ones we did when down in Denmark so he enjoyed this one. So while I was signing the log he re-opened the cache several times. If I had any fav points left I'd give you one. Another great cache. TFTC.

Loved, loved , loved it. Had wanted to find one of these, so made a quick dash to the nearby Coles to grab the necessary. Really great craftsmanship displayed.
The few caches that I have been able to find on the campus have all been top notch and this is the best of them all. Have another fave. TFTC roymerc.

I have been to roymerc country in Denmark and had a fabulous time there. Now with roymerc caches starting to appear in Perth one has to go and find them.
So thats what OOH YEH and I did and we weren't disappointed, I just love how roymerc's caches work, so do yourself a favour and head down to Denmark.
TFTC roymerc and of course a favourite point coming your way.

Visiting Perth for the day to catch a show at His Majesty's Theatre. Then off to Vic Park for a late lunch and headed to Curtin to grab another BYOB. Perfect day! Thanks roymerc
Tftc. I love the roymerc series. First introduced to his caches in denmark. Out wirh allikat and joolz
Having found some of your series in Denmark, I knew I'd be in for a treat. I am hoping there's not a fire at my place today while the battery is with me and my bike...it served a difference purpose today. Thanks for the hide roymerc.
Well Monts decided he wasn't leaving our current home (he has made himself comfortable at this one), as it was too cold. So it was up to geo nephew Freckles101 to come with me, and do the battery honours. Great cache. I'm very impressed with the container. TFTC roymerc
I don't ever turn on notifications for the unknown/mystery cache type and as such didn't get a notification for the cache and only heard about it thanks to the geocaching wa facebook page.
Made it a little mission to go and find this cache as it is one of only a couple of roymercs that I haven't found, the others require a kayak and a keen sense of adventure in king George sound near the Albany port! Or maybe try some private geocaches that are located in camp q.
Anyway made my way down here with Cravo10, let him do some scratching around before finding it in an obvious spot and making a quick find using the last 2pk of batteries I purchased down in Denmark when I lived down in Albany several years ago. Thankfully they still work.
Add a favourite point Roy, another masterpiece.
It is great to see you hiding caches again, it's been far too long between drinks.

BYOB caches, well now I see. Great cache well made and different.
Can,t wait to do more. Looks like a road trip is due.

Just had to call in here on our way to the million paws walk to see what the amazing roymerc had conjured up. Remembered our time a few years ago down in denmark nabbing countless others in this series. This one didnt disappoint. Thanks so much. Your efforts are much appreciated.. Totally out of faves unfortunately. Think we need to be a bit pickier. Tftc.
Spotted this one published and just had to head out to grab it. Dug around for a battery and left home. As I approached GZ I spotted someone else with similar intentions - it was LAXA - he hadn't spotted the cache yet, but we soon had it in our sights.
Opened the container to find we had been beaten to it. Oh well. Happy with a joint STF
Great to have a Roymerc cache in Perth again. A fave from me.
roymerc - SVKR_WA found your cache BYOB#15 Curtin Engineering on 20/5/17, 11:11. This is my find #2193 and find #1 today.
The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

*ftf* @ 10.55am. Had just finished some business at Garden City when some new caches came though. Had a window of an hour and a half before tra had to be at work and whilst the new duck43 was closer she was in her work clothes so the roymerc one was the target. Fra was sent into Coles to grab the battery and we were soon on the road.
Approached a deserted ground zero, did what was necessary and was soon signing the blank log. A great cache deserving of a fave
TFTC and the path tag roymerc maintained by Curtin Geocaching this is find # 2322 for us.
