Find # 7558

Found while heading down to Melbourne for the weekend.

Well a trip that would normally take a little over 2.5 hours to do, today took a happy (and a little bit zig zaggy) 8.5 hours.
And a few more than 55 stops to grab the caches on my hit list. All ranging from micros up to larges.

With the day being a scorcher out on the game board ment that water was needed all the while. And plenty of sunscreen.

Thankfully with all the bark, logs, bushes and false tops moved to access caches no snakes were out, me thinks it was too hot for them today too.

This whole series along here were all great fun hides with good themed caches n swag. Well worth the detour off the main Hwy on my way to Melbourne.

All caches found were in good order, unless stated above.

After having cached in Melbourne for the morning, we came to the Bacchus Marsh area to tackle the TSS and Three series of caches, as well as any others in the immediate area.

Accurate coordinates and a straightforward hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Benjamin Screamer for the cache.

Thanks to the long weekend back home, I was able to pop over the ditch for the mega and a ‘few’ caches along the way! I was really after the numbers on this trip, planning to achieve 50+ each of the three days for a challenge – something that is getting much more difficult back home! The weather was great and I had a ball thanks to all the CO’s placing great caches!
Time to collect a few in town and then head out for some more series. Nice area to explore! TFTC!!

The photo in this cache is amusing. Someone in the area has had a good job of killing the cactus along this road. It’s a difficult job and they can spread like wildfire. Well done. The cache was easily found as we could see it from the road. It’s lucky that not many people come down this road, obviously.

My fifth day of a 9 day caching road trip holiday.
Well I've always heard there's 4 seasons in one day down in Melbourne. Today started with that 4th season that is least desired while caching... RAIN!
I was set to do some hiking cache trails, packed my bag with plenty of water and only realised it was raining when I got to the hotel carpark. I returned to my room to grab a rain jacket and stomped back to my car knowing that it'll be an uncomfortable day. My shoes were soaked by the 6th cache, and I was wetter in the inside of my raincoat from sweat than what the rain could have done!
Then the rain stopped after a couple of hours, but my feet stayed wet until 6pm when I took my shoes and socks off for the drive back to my hotel. Lucky that I like geocaching enough to ignore those issues!
In the end I managed to find 65 today.

Thanks for the caches.

Grub62 and I, on a miserable windy day, thought we would get a few caches. The 3's trail looked like a good way to improve our statistics and also get some souvenirs. These were all easy drive-bys all well done and some clever setups. TFTCs.

Out with Bunadoorian trying to geocache without getting too wet. I had planned a day starting with the Exford Trios series ending in Queenscliff - but with the weather as at was we decided to stay in around this area. TFTC Benjamin Screamer. 4 of 30 today. Loved the photos in this cache - very fitting.

Got to give some education about the pest species here. Even better though, somebody dumped their house rubbish on the side of the road and one thing was a basket of knick knacks. Good for Geocaching trades. Well one man's trash is another man's geo treasure.

I'm not usually over this way, and despite the wind, it is a good day for caching. The he cactus looks a bit worse for wear though! Tftc

21-Apr-18
A nice day to go caching.

Today the plan was to try to find some small caches - as we have noticed for the upcoming Mega this year there is a sharkiefan challenge cache that requires 700 small cache finds - and we have only found 444 to date - so we need to get cracking to meet this challenge by November!

We noticed this series had a fair share of small caches so we targeted it. We are all feeling a bit run down today, so we thought this drive and grab series was perfect for us as no one was feeling like a long walk.

Today only two of plowfive were actively caching – me and little miss. The boys were firmly attached to their devices and Mrs P was looking after the boys at each stop.

Little Miss enjoyed the well-stocked and well-maintained caches – and made swaps at almost every cache we visited today. She scored well with bangles, toys and ear-rings (it will be quite a few years though before she gets to wear them). Lucky our swaps bag is also well stocked. I even scored a penny at one cache which I happily swapped for. I enjoyed some good Daddy Daughter time today.

Thanks Benjamin Screamer for a well-maintained quality fun series with a great variety of sizes (including small!). Three really is the perfect number! (– says plowfive with three kidlets).

Well this really was an apt hide for the Three Stooges - I can imagine a 3 Stooges find the cache slapstick based on this cache!

18-Apr-18
A great sunny autumn day is not to be wasted indoors, so I headed towards the Bacchus Marsh area for an afternoon's caching. The loop from Eynesbury around Parwan ended up quite a successful outing, with no DNFs and a variety of caches.
Started off here with an easy (if prickly) find at the Three Stooges.

Moe Howard: What is that gadget?
Teddy: This is an iPhone.
Curly Howard: An iPhone? [brings the iPhone to his eye] Hello? Hello? [gives it back] There's nobody there.
Teddy: Works better on your ear.

Seems they didn't realize you could use an iPhone for geocaching as well, even almost a decade ago!
Thanks, Benjamin Screamer.

TFTC. We were staying with our daughter for the Long Weekend before dropping the car and Motorhome off to have a tow hitch fitted. Nothing better than getting out into the fresh air to spend a few hours caching. After completing the TSS V2 series we continued along to attempt this series.
We certainly remember watching Curly , Larry and Mo on the back and white TV . A lot of laughs.

been a little slack in logging caches over the last few weeks, but finally had time to sit and do some logs. Travelling the back road... avoiding traffic, grabbing a cache... ah such a pleasant way to travel home

I used to have found all the caches in this area but with moving further away and the explosion of new hides out here I have fallen well behind. I was out this way for work and finished up fairly early so decided to detour on the way home.

A surprising amount of traffic on this road considering I'm not sure where it goes. I spotted the hide quickly but took a bit longer to reach it without being skewered. Thanks for the cache Benjamin Screamer.

13:52, 20 August 2017. #986.

I hadn't planned any caching today, but had to do a run to the Julia Gillard Library in Tarneit, so, what the heck, a short detour (about 25 km) would be a good run for one of the neglected two wheelers in the garage. I had planned to park close to Three Bags Full and just walk back to this one, then up to the Three Rs rather than stop, park and re-start three times, but I looked at the logical land mark as I was riding past and saw the cache. I couldn't resist stopping and signing the log, which meant Plan A was dropped and the multiple stop, park, re-start procedure was invoked.

I covered the cache a little better than it was hidden when I found it and otherwise it's in good condition.

TNLNSL. TFTC Benjamin Screamer.

Thanks for a nice little cache. The kids were a bit nervous to grab it, so Mummy went for it lol.

I was being super cautious in this retrieval; I've danced with prickly pears in the past and always come out worse for wear. Ouch! All ok today though. Enjoyed looking through the pics - brought back some funny memories of the stooges.
Thank-you for your Exford Trios series, Benjamin Screamer. We enjoyed your themed caches, cache notes, variety of hides, and many large sized containers. Some were massive - well done! TFTC Smile

Out for the day exploring the Eynesbury area.
Beautiful day for the middle of Winter.
Great little drive by series. The road sure was busy here though!
Had 2 cars slow right down and stare at us in the car as we were pulled over.
Gave a little wave but they took off and stopped further down the road at a house.
Must have seen people here before but they didn't want a chat i guess.
Thanks for the hide here.
