Having never been to Hervey Bay before, I arrived on 24th July after driving from Yass NSW (just outside of ACT). Here for a couple weeks and couldn’t miss the chance to pick up a couple of caches. It’s a great way to explore an area and go to places I may not have gone.

On Monday 31st July allrounder joined me here for the week. We headed over K,gari on Thursday 3rd August as we did the 4wd tour. We saw this cache was there but due to being on the tour we didn’t have the chance to stop and look for it. Today I ventured back over to the island for the day, while there I made a quick find before enjoying a lovely lunch at the Sand Bar Cafe.

Great camo which doesn’t look out of place. Log and container in good condition.

2nd day on Fraser Island today, doing a magnificent 2 day tour of this beautiful island. While waiting for the 4x4 bus to pick us up, we walked down the path for this cache. Nice easy find once in the right place, as coords may have been slightly off.

AustraliaA country that has fascinated me for a long time. But the distance to get there was just as great as the desire to drive there. So it was dreamed but not implemented. But then our friend nalfion moved again. And this time to Down Under. That gave the go-ahead to plan a little more firmly for the first ideas and fantasies. The bosses were asked about a longer vacation and then we went to the travel agency with our rough ideas. For such a complex thing we wanted to have support. And after a few appointments there, the basic structure was in place.During our summer holidays we went to Sydney via Singapore, where we spent 2 days. 2 days in Sydney city and then we went with a small camper van with the whole family via Katoomba to Cairns. Our friend lives in Adelaide so ended up staying there for a few more days at the hotel before heading back to Germany without any lengthy stops via Melbourne and Singapore.A wonderful holiday that at least brought us a little closer to this huge country and gave us many great memories. We spend a few days in Urangan to make a day trip to K'gari.Such an amazing island with such a beautiful lake.We even saw some Dingos, but only out of our coach. Thanks for the Cache.

Our last night at Kingfisher before heading north to see more of this beautiful island. Once the spectacular sunset had done it's things, it's pretty early at the end of May... 17:06! I snuck off for what ended up being a very quick find, could have taken a while but I got lucky this time!
Thanks Cruiseforever

A week on K'Gari with my two favourite girls - T4mmmy, and my new Pajero Sport named Missi. Both girls had a lot of fun, as did I this week. A few new caches for me since my last visit including this one like this one - my first time visiting the resort here (wow) and we stayed here (beats camping). Coords were a bit out for us - we followed an earlier log indicating nearer to the toilets, and thus spotted it. Very nice. Then back to the beach to witness the beautiful western beach sunsets not so common in QLD.

Thanks Cruiseforever for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #11227}* Cool

Cruiseforever Thanks for the cache and yellow dandelion.

Today we move on to Frazer. We dropped off the car yesterday so we can only hunt caches within walking distance . Then the hotel service picks us up and we transfer to the island.
Upon arrival, they greet us with the words: Beautiful day, huh? Because it is persistently raining. Once we've checked in, we go for a short walk and hunt for nearby caches.

This one is a bit surrounded by water, but we give it and look forward to tomorrow's offroad

box condition: completely healthy

Missing geocache not sure if I’m just blind or not, or if it is actually gone, don’t know if my phone is broken either but something isn’t right, all I want to know and see where it is and if it’s actually still there, I’m leaving the island now so I don’t think I’m coming back, I’m just really confused!

On a road trip from Adelaide with my muggle mate. We have cycling friends having a joint 60th in Noosa, then we are off to Hervey Bay to see some family and the return home……who knows which route we’ll take, if I place a log for your cache, you’ll have a vague idea of which way we have taken

An early start this morning on the barge as we set our for four days and three nights hiking a portion of the Fraser Island Great Walk.

Our route will take us from Kingfisher Bay (and this cache) to Lake McKenzie and then onto Central Station tonight. Tomorrow we will hike from Central Station through Pile Gully and onto Lake Wabby following the old logging tram lines. On Sunday, we will return to Lake McKenzie for the night, before finishing the long weekend with a short hike from Lake McKenzie back to Kingfisher Bay.

Whilst we had a long hike today, we decided there was no time like the present and opted to grab the two Kingfisher resort caches today (as 65k's later we might not be so enthusiastic.) Turned out to be a good plan.

A nice quick find here thanks to the spoiler photo in the CO's maintenance log. An excellent use of some natural camo for the container. Still signs on work going on at den nearby.

Crookedpete, Dez(JezNDez) and I headed north yesterday from Brisbane to Hervey Bay to stay there overnight before catching the ferry across from River Heads this morning to start our 4 day hiking adventure along a stretch of the Fraser Island Great Walk. A perfect sunny day greeted us as we arrived on the island and before setting off on our journey we had time to pick up a cache or two nearby. Crookedpete managed the find here after the well disguised cache resisted the initial search. TFTC

12-Sep-22
Our geocaching travel pack included log books, ziplock bags, containers and all the other necessary bits & pieces needed to replace this cache for the CO. Thanks Cruiseforever! We had obviously a great time on K'gari but it's ever so much more fun to have caches hidden right where you are staying, well worth keeping it going!
GZ is now on the other side (south) of the path. Like always: no need to leave the path or disturb the vegetation. Extra stealth is recommended during the duration of the renovations at the dingo den. I think they got suspicious of me often lingering awkwardly and rummaging around in that random little spot

You cannot live in Maryborough and not be able to say you never visited K'gari (the Aboriginal name of Fraser Island). Met up with Bender 3642 and decided we needed a couple of caches, just to prove we'd been there.
I am getting quite arthritic, so I tend to look for easy caches but this one was elusive. We both looked high and low. At one stage, I was even lying on my belly to search hoping no-one would come by - lets face it I am now old enough to worry onlookers lol
Thanks for the hide anyway Cruiseforever.

Had a look the other day ... nothing
Even with another cacher on site
Had a look this morning ... ?
Then saw karicka made a find in between looks
So I made the call to help pin point the locale
Back for another go
And another pair of caches at gz
But I went straight to the defined location
And shared the prize
Thanks for the cache
And thanks to karicka for the help.

Fraser Island and the surrounding beachside locations have been on my bucket list for many years so I jumped at the chance when charmad asked me to join him and Triple Turmoil on a 4WD camping trip on the Anzac Day long weekend. This was an awesome adventure with great weather, lots of laughter with many a joke and story telling, sleeping under the stars, spotting six dingoes and many beautiful birds that I've never seen before. I was amazed at the amount of lakes we visited, all very different but such a pleasure to see them.

Our timing was perfect for searching around here as the pre-set wedding reception wasn't due to start for another hour. Had already looked in the spot as per the hint but didn't see anything then charmad got down much lower and spied the prize.

A three day camping road trip with Snickersallan, Triple turmoil and myself was organised to see Fraser Island, Rainbow Beach and Double island point. What a fantastic time we had; driving around enjoying the scenery, bush walks, visiting lakes, lunch and dinners on the beach, and a great camp site at Dundubara. The trip was full of laughs and great companionship, thank you.

We knew we were going to be in for a long couple of days, so it was an early start and with a couple of target caches in mind we set off to on the 6.30am barge.

After our trip to Lake McKenzie we drove up to kingfisher bay to grab the two caches here. This one took a little effort to find as it was tucked right up and in a very tight spot. With one of us directing from the other end it was soon grabbed. We were lucky as a wedding party was about to start, would have been interesting trying to retrieve this one at the time of the function. We signed the log and returned the cache as per hint. Thanks for placing this one here.
