I am staying with my sister and her husband down the other side of town after farm sitting for them for a few weeks while they went on a holiday. This morning they wanted to visit a couple of garden centres and this was the 2nd one. Had a look at cachly and we were parked 20 metres away from this. So while they went in I had a look, at first ignoring the arrow for some more obvious palms nearby but then decided to trust it and with the help of the hint soon had cache in hand. Thanks dragon gem.
Stopped by before opening hours on Te R o Waitangi for a nice quick find! Great cache container, tftc.
Had to go back a second time! Very well hidden. The log book needs better waterproofing and is very full. Enjoyed finding this very much.
This one stumped me for a couple minutes, had to take insane interest in the flowers to avoid suspicion.
Great cache container.

After a nice lunch at Palmers Cafe I found the cache in his clever hiding spot.

Well done. Many people here today ...easy to find as they were more interested in their purchases than me. TFTC
Stopped and visited during our Xmas roadtrip around the area. No problem locating this one TFTC. Merry Christmas and safe travels to all cachers
.We arrive here at 7am. A quick hunt and we had this one. Replaced log with RITR temp log to help keep this one rolling along. Cheers
Day 10- Monday 23 December. Around New Plymouth today with an event at Pukekura Park to top the day off.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Took us a moment to find the right place. Easy, once I realised the cache title is a hint. Now, as I am logging this over a month late, I see there is a cache hint - Never saw it at GZ. the title was enough.
Day eleven of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is wandering about New Plymouth
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

A dot day to deal to so I decided to go after this cache before the population was out and about with its zealous pre-Chrismas consumption activity. I headed out without even having the essential first caffeine dose of the day thinking that I would drive right to GZ quickly do the log and get home for coffee asap. But as I swung off the road I found there was a rather robust gate across the carpark entrance and another car was right behind me. I could have parked somewhere there and walked but figured the driver of the other car would be watching me. So I drove back to the main road and parked in behind A1 homes which gave me a slightly shorter walk from the other direction. Once at GZ the job was quickly done and I was heading home for caffeine. Thanks.

Found while hanging out with Team Almawoody. Got a trumpet icecream as a treat from inside after we SL. TFTC
Ohh so clever. Took a wee bit trying to look inconspicuous. Sunny spot lovely
It was time to assemble Team BOP as I hadn't seen these crazy people since the Mega. The plan was Taranaki via the Forgotten World Highway and we were all pretty excited about it. It was a big couple of days so forgive the cut'n'paste logs as I'm logging retrospectively and a few of the hides are starting to blur together. Neat container. This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. TNXPro, McJandals, Davidson Clan & myself signed our logs individually or as TEAM BOP depending on time, log space or mood. Cheers & TFTC
TeamBOP have come together again for a trip to the Naki. Team BOP consists of myself (obviously), McJandals, Philip.Perry and DavidsonClan.
After eventually finding our accommodation and having more of a sleep than we intended, it was back to business this morning.
Thanks to all the CO's for attracting us to the Taranaki.

Found using Cachly app and logged using the text template, so please excuse generic logging in advance. On a spur of the moment roadie with Phillip.Perry, TNXPRO and Davidson Clan from the Bay of Plenty, a plan was hatched and here we are. Great to have these places to visit and many thanks to all you COs for the placements. Cheers
In New Plymouth for the weekend with Philip.Perry McJandals and Tnxpro. Signed log Team BOP to save space on log sheets.

Down from aucklandand as always the wife likes to op shop. She stopped at the hospice op shop and lucky for me this was very close. Nice easy park and grab.
Was on my way North to New Plymouth for work and had decided to contact Phronimos beforehand and see if he was interested in going and checking out a cache that he had a DNF on when he was in the area. Phronimos was happy to oblige as he also wanted to do some maintenance on a couple of caches as well, so we soon hatched a plan and Phronimos decided that he would pick me up at my accommodation and we would make our way North from there, this was great as I didnt have to drive and as Phronimos was familiar with the area it made it so much easier just to be a passenger and enjoy being chauffeur around the countryside.
After finding GC7FAPK - Myrtle’s yellow Christmas dress (Taranaki), this was the last cache I wanted to find today. I knew about this cache and had thought about looking at getting it a few times when I was in New Plymouth but only had one opportunity to go for it and that time there was so many muggles near GZ it was not even worth attempting.
Decided that since I was out and about in the late hours of the day I might as well give this cache a go, what have I got to lose, apart from getting a tap on the shoulders from a security staff for bring in this area after dark, well a bit more than after [xx(].
Phronimos managed to find a safe parking spot a the entrance to the carpark as it new has a gate across the entrance after hours and it wasnt too far from GZ. The walk to GZ didnt take too long and it was great to stretch the legs before having to go back to my accommodation, arriving at GZ it was a bit obvious as to where the cache was going to be even got away without having to use the torch until I sign the log, and was quite surprise that I managed to find this clever hide as quickly as I did.
Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced the cache back where I found it. Thanks dragon gem for placing this cleverly constructed cache here and for bringing us to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (13977). Definitely muggle central at GZ, but timing is always everything as urban caches go, definitely giving this cache a favourite as it really deserves one.
Now it is time to go back to my accommodation and call it a night before I turn into a pumpkin [:o)], as it is getting close to bewitching hour. Also very grateful to Phronimos for taking me around the greater Taranaki region and his company which was so much appreciated.

Last find of the day before heading to my Airbnb. This took a little bit of searching but got the right area in the end. TFTC.
Found with Julius family it took a lot of hunting to find. Logging now as I have my own account. TFTC
Wow...that was a tricky one! Think not about a tree but it is in a rock of a hard place!!!
Last day in Taranaki before heading South tomorrow. All packed up so what else to do than get a few more smilies and Planetary points.
Was here earlier today dropping g some stuff at the hospice shop, but decided to come back when there were less muggles.
A quick find once I followed the map and not the GPS arrow. Now I've found it, signing it would probably be OK during the day, but looking might be a bit suspect. Good luck.
Thanks for the smilie dragon gem.

Glad we went in the evening to avoid the muggles. Didn't need to look too hard. TFTC
Glad that we were here in the evening - quick find - helpful comments and hint. TFTC
Nipped over after business hours and was shown up by my newbie friend who found the cache straight away.
Mean while, over walks a couple from Tauranga, geocaching.com central tonight.
Cheers.

No problem finding this one as we muggled a cacher in the act, nice to meet you Scoria. A nice hide thanks for the placement.
All quiet early this morning at the garden centre, so we had the place to ourselves while we wandered about. A clever hide, and we've never come across one just like this before - thank you.
After being foiled by another traditional and mystery I made my way here as I was not going to waste a fot day. An easy find at gz and this was probably one of the better types of this that I have found so a fav point awarded
We needed a rest room so we faked interest in the plants and knick-knacks inside for a while before heading for the amenities then went looking for the hide on the way out.
Not what I was expecting but I soon had it in my palm. Nicely constructed too, thanks for the cache.

Well I'm back in the Naki for a break and better way to relax is doing some hunting. A lot of Saturday gardeners about. A bit of a hunt then found the clever cache. Thanks for the first find of the day. Tftc
No luck for me today - searched the 3 palm..... s & nothing to show but a few weeds
Found by the Topwards gang after a search...hedge now gone but still under the 'palm'
We were out here going to naki Nitro and had to stop in and get this one as we passed by A FP for this well camoed cache and perhaps the details are a bit twisted as well but I know I have done that at times so not complaining
well while looking around I pulled some weeds, picked up some litter and watched muggles coming and going (with some watching me back) thanks for the placement a different take on the norm
Out and about early this morning in New Plymouth and I've got some time to kill before I have to head to the venue to set up for my black tie event this evening. So what to do - a bit of caching of course!
Quickly spotted the palm which was closely followed by finding the clever camo cache. TFTC - it helps me achieve a challenge cache that I've signed near christchurch.

A little bit of a search and cache was found. The end of the day meant the place was scarce of muggles. Cool hide! TFTC
It was certainly a hard place. Couldn't find a palm but finally found the rock !!! TFTC
