Thanks for your amazing cache.

Ha! Coming from Skindo country I didn't even need to navigate to this one. The inside of the cache was very wet, but the log was still (just) dry enough to sign. Grabbed the TB as we have a trip to the Mainland coming up in a few days. TFTC

Someone was mowing the lawns so access was easy today. Mulched lawn clippings weren't pleasant but located the cache and signed the log.

Cache # 4,901 - easy find, difficulty getting container out, and what a mess! Someone has dumped a whole pile of manure essentially on top of the cache. Sad Signed log and returned, and needed to wash hands as soon as possible after this one!

Thanks for the series

Decided since I had to go to Marton today that it was also time to get out and about doing some geocaches, some new, some old.

Took a stroll to this cache which took longer to find than it should as the mower man mentioned in previous logs had dumped grass cutting at GZ which has started to rot over cache.

Cleaned up cache, signed log and left as found. Thanks for the placement sunju.

Today was a dot day so I looked for some near by caches to grab. This quartet looked fairly easy and would make for a short walk also.
Arriving at the car park the mower was working and there was a random car parked (later another car came and they swapped some stuff and maybe the kids). Both made me think for a bit but I decided the mission was still on.
I went clockwise as the mower was at what would be find number four and I hoped he would move by the time I had to get that one.
Cache number two for today and was an easy find while watching a near by magpie just in case.

Once again I find myself heading back to Welly after a weekend in Wanganui. This wee set has been on my radar since I started doing these regular trips, and today the stars aligned, at least initially. When I arrived the place was deserted, but by the time I finished my lap there was a dog walker and two rest stops going on, and it felt like all eyes were on me. I behaved as stealthy as a 6'5" Yeti can. All safe and dry here. TFTC.

Next one to be found, have discovered I like to walk anti-clockwise not clockwise around a field, I was finding this strange, tftc sunju

Stopped on our way back to Wellington. Saw one blokart out this evening - looked like a lot of fun! TFTC

18-May-20
Had the day off work. So pleased to be able to geocache after Covid levels 3 and 4. Headed to Bulls then Sanson. Returned here for the last two caches. Familiar with the Skindo hide. Wasn’t sure about the Wairarapa hide. Seemed to be, find the largest thistle around and wait for the cachers to prick themselves! Still good to get a smiley. Thanks

23-Feb-20
Continuing on my walk around the blokart course the final cache is also an easy find even if the hint would be confusing to a newbie or out of region geocacher. Certainly I was the first time I was confronted with a 'Skindo' hint. You are aware Skindo has retired from geocaching and archived all or most of his caches?
TFTC All good here

We had a very nice holiday in New Zealand. Almost every day beautiful weather. We traveled with the camper home from the north to the south island. we have found a lot of very nice caches. Thanks for showing the nice places where we found the caches.

Visiting town for the New Zealand Blokart Champs at this very track.
The event is two days here and two days on Ohakea runways and the weather conditions are looking great.
After I'd registered and had a little practise on the track I ducked out on the bike out to grab this one.
A simple find.
Thanks for placing these caches here and promoting the sport.

Over in Palmerston North for the day and decided to grab a couple of caches on the way home.

Have looked at this location before but it was always infested with muggles. Today I had the place to myself.

Cache quickly spotted and logged finishing this set of four.

Cheers

I was driving up to Auckland today. Madness I know, in Easter traffic, but needs must...

In order to break my journey up a little bit I thought I might stop to grab an occasional cache not too far off the beaten track. I hadn't actually expected to stop this early into my journey, but to make matters worse for anyone travelling, there had been a crash just up the road and the traffic was at a standstill. So I pulled off the road to take a breather and luckily this set of 4 caches was available for me to make best use of my downtime.

The Blokarts weren't operating today so I pretty much had the place to myself as I walked the boundary to find all four associated caches. Each of them was a relatively straightforward find, although I had never heard of 'Wairarapa Style' before. All caches are in fine condition, although some of the baggies are split which may case problems with the logs over the upcoming winter months.

Thanks for the cache

13-Apr-19
Very pleasant walk in the late afternoon with a few muggles around walking their dogs. No Blokarts in sight. Cache found without difficulty. Thanks.

Today was part two of my road trip home to Nelson from Auckland, after picking up my son's "new" car from Napier, taking me from Taihape to Wellington... with time to find a few caches along the way, of course. A nice spot to stop and have a perimeter walk. TFTC, Biggles.

This was the ninth day of my twelve day trip to go to the Wellington Mega. I left the Geovan at the holiday park and hiked over to get ‘just a few more’ before it got dark.
Still not understanding the hints, but there it is. TFTC.

Heading to Wellington Mega a day earlier with Squirrel Nutcase and NZ Flossy a day earlier.
Out to collect caches that we have previously passed.
So sorry cache owners, we had a fairly large find today so it's a copy and paste day.
Thanks everyone for their cache placements that we found. SLTFTC

WENZ Mega Weekend is almost here... Motoring south today with Gap (of Fap and Gap), and NZFlossy. Our intention is to cache our way to our accommodation in Lower Hutt... The big news of the day is that Highway 1 is closed at Pukerua Bay. A truck crash and chemical spill have shut down all lanes coming to and from Wellington. We have plenty of caches to find to keep us occupied, but this could be a long wait...

Friday: I have been looking forward to this next collection of caches; a sweep south from Sanson, along Highway 1. I am mostly looking forward to the historic railway caches in the Manawatu Rail series... These grounds were formerly the Sanson Racecourse. It was nice to get out and find all four corner caches here today, while an earthmover toiled away in the background. TFTC.

19-Oct-18
On my way to the mega with Squirrel Nutcase and Fap and Gap. Having lots of fun and enjoying the ride and the scenery. It’s what I love about caching - great company and visiting great places. Thanks to all the COs for all their caches Hopefully we see some of them at the mega this weekend TFTC

02-Oct-18
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I now go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will help me get closer to my goal

The previous three that came out to get this cache there were workmen working on some project so I just drove onto the next cache on the list for my dot on my calendar matrix but today it was all clear so I park up and headed to ground zero
I found the cache fairly easily sign the log while heading back to the car I noticed incoming rain to the north luckily I just got back to the car before it started to rain

Thanks for the cache

Found after the Winter Warmer event, with the Etherlord family. Saw the electric fence, but no problems. Thanks for this Blokart quartet sunju, some more souvenirs gained!

No need for the GPS just walk to the corner. Found many of these type of hides in our travels around NZ geocaching. TFTC.

#10,203. A short walk in Sanson. GZ was all quiet when we were there. Quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside.

Be careful of the nearby car battery, that was powering the electric fence.

Took Travel Bug Origins - United States
Left nothing, signed log.

Appears that the Seagnoid dropped Travel Bug Origins - United States to The Blokart Grin - Take 3 (Manawatu)

05-May-18
The Seagnoid and I are on a cache maintenance mission to Palmerston North today. With maintenance in the bag, its time to explore this area, with a few caches in the mix.
Another snag and tag at this very quiet Blowcart race. Makes for easy caching with no muggles. Cheers

Having just done repairs on a couple of my challenge series, Taybeedragon and I are off to Feilding to do some more there. Via the long way - Shannon. Stopped here for a walk around the field. Interesting to see how they liffted this corner. Nice idea too - I bet it would have got quite boggy.

Now that I am living in Blenheim it is a little awkward to maintenance up here. But every now and then I just have to bite the bullet and spend the dollars. So here I am, with Taybeedragon along for the ride, on a maintenance mission. And to show the dragon a few of the more awesome than average caches. And some others we visited were pretty impressive - of the 25 caches we found I gave away 5 favourites. That's a 1:5 ratio!

Looking after Great Grandchild today good day for cachingmany thanks

30-Mar-18
Collecting the Friend League points for the current souvenir series and needed quite a few more to get from Neptune to Pluto. Decided to head out this afternoon and grab as many caches as possible around the Ohakea airbase circuit as well as any solved puzzle caches nearby.

Nobody using the facilities here today so enjoyed a pleasant wander in the warm sun to GZ for a quick find. Noted the fish stickers on the lid, which look just like the ones on the container we got at the Turangi Mega last year... TFTC sunju.

10-Mar-18
Got here early evening, good time as no one was around. Easy find

09-Mar-18
I had some spare time while in town visiting some of the rellies, so I thought Id do a few of the easy drivebys in the area. I had a great day and grabbed a heap of caches. Lots of damp and wet caches, but not surprising given the weather. I did find some that had been replaced, but found the original nearby. Signed one or the other depending on which I found first. Thanks to all the CO's for a great day and apologies for the generic log.

17-Feb-18
A journey from Kapiti to Whangarei was an ideal time to stop here and there and seek out some caches whenever the opportunity presented itself. Some of the caches were a bit of a challenge. I was accompanied by team geocacher Mr. T and we saw some beautiful scenery so it was an enjoyable trip. Thank you for placing this cache and for taking the trouble to maintain it. Dropped off a TB.

10-Dec-17
I stopped here a couple of weeks to find the two caches; only to get home to discover there were four! I had been to Taranaki for the weekend so decided to stop again to put things right. It also doubled as a great opportunity to stretch the legs. I didn't anticipate any difficulty and I was proved right with an instant find.

03-Dec-17
Out here for my husbands work do with the kids as well. I didn't much like this activity so stopped early and took the opportunity to take a walk. Hey, the baby needed a bumpy walk in the stroller to go to sleep anyway. She was great cover for my other activity Smile
No problem locating these ones aside from the uneven terrain and pushing a stroller. Oh, well. This stroller has gone all sorts of places that aren't 'stroller accessible'. Thanks for placing this little series.

19-Nov-17
This was our second cache of the series, and it was a pretty quick find as we spotted the tell tale glint of blue as we approached.
We left a pet rock - a turtle.
Thanks for the cache sunju

17-Nov-17
Had a few hours spare today, so Popmac and I headed out to make a few finds in the area. Some Popmac had already found, some he hadn't. Thanks for the cache, no problems locating it today.

#4635. I had been planning on doing a big day out caching in the Manawatu for some months. On Tuesday the forecast for Friday/Saturday looked great and even on Wed it was still OK but by Friday I discovered you can't trust the Metservice to identify a rain band. Horribly wrong forecast with rain falling most of the day. Needed gumboots on all day long. By now I had booked a motel in Palmerston North so too late to turn back. Got rather wet getting in and out of the car to grab these caches with steady showers of rain. In the end I managed a respectable total of 65 caches. I had a hit list of 100 but that was always overambitious. There were two workers on quads mowing the lawns here today. Must have wondered who the odd-bod was walking around the corners of the field in the rain. Neither saw me grab or replace the cache but still they must have wondered. Very quick find and sign. Picked up a trackable and left another behind. Thanks for the cache sunju.

Time was against me today but this is my last tripdown for a while so had to just go for it At least the ground over here was a lot more solid than the othwer side

We had rushed out the door to try for the FTF on the 4th cache in this area, and were happy to be successful. While we were here we decided to try and find the other 3 caches in this domain. Thankfully they were all nice quick finds. Found with darthcacher1 and purply.

After we got the Blokart Grin - Final, we headed to this cache. While we were finding the cache some people in Blokarts came speeding past. Found with HeMaLuDy and purply. TFTC

16-Jul-17
Found with HeMaLuDy and Darthcacher1. We got this find after we came down to Feilding on holiday and had a call of an FTF up for grabs in the same domain. When we first pulled up we realized there was a blo-carting event going on, we met the cache owner but even with the blo-carters we still managed to getaway with some finds unquestioned. After getting this one we found the rest of the caches in the park. TFTC.

After our first find here, Miss 3Prettys had the great idea of getting her bike out of the car to ride around while the search was underway. The clue was quite helpful, though while I was crouched down, signing the log, my phone slipped out of my pocket and we had to return here an hour later to find it.
Thanks for the cache and the great amount of time we spent here this afternoon!

I was on my way to whanganui for the day professional Dev day and thought i would stop off here and locate these three newer caches. I was extrememly glad i had my gumboots with me and a wooly hat and a windproof jacket as the bitter wind was surely sweeping acrosss the area as i walked around the area. all three caches are in good order with good co==ords. so they were fairly quickly located, signed and replaced al;though it did get rather dirty muddy hands so the wet wipes in the car were very welcomed. Thank you for these three new caches and three more smiley faces.

I had lunch today with my course mates, and this CO's daughter, grand-daughter and son-in-law. It's not often I make that connection. The wee one looks as lovely as ever and nice to see her again so soon after my first visit a few weeks ago. Q E F of all 3 caches here and on a nice weather day too, yay.

Have got a bit of time on my hands this afternoon, I've finished hosting my students nearby and have set them on their way which means my work here is done, for now. And so with a belly full of lunch, and the Manawatu sunshine accompanying the blue skies, it was on the road to Wellington in the hire van for a flight back to Blenheim later in the day, after some errands, and caches of course.
My passenger in the van was accommodating of my caching plans and so I was dropped at the cemetery for a 35 minute stroll along the Rangitikei River for that series of caches. I popped out at the bridge end with a healthy 7 finds and headed off to Blokart HQ afterwards.

We set off on a little expedition today to collect the new caches in Sanson, Bulls and Marton.
The Blokart Track was our first stop. There was no one about at the track, but in the corner near "The Blokart Grin - Take 2" the bushes were all being removed, so there was no way to get over there unnoticed.
Therefore we headed over to "Take 3". It didn't take too long to find the cache. We have replaced it where found it, although it did seem a little precarious as it could easily slip down a bit from here. TFTC

Third work trip to New Plymouth in as many months. I didn't think I'd have any time for caching on this trip having another meeting in the middle of the day in Palmerston North, but thankfully that was cancelled so I could squeeze in a few caches on my drive home.

As I was in New Plymouth when the notification for these two new caches came out, I knew I didn't have a hope in hell for the FTF. No worries though, I've already got one for this month and I'm happy to share the FTFs around and not be greedy.

Stopped here on my way back to Palmerston North on a lovely autumnal day. Nice walk across the blokart track and the cache was quickly found. TFTC
