First time taking this car 4wding. Fun and games to get to the GZ. Manage to make it up the hill to realise that this cache hadnt been found since 2019 so was assuming the worst. Located cache quickly and was one of the rare surprises to see it just hadnt been found in over 4 years! Cache in great condition. Thanks for the cache

If the bananas were after firewood, this is a good place to start.
There is plenty.
Looking at the other trees around here, even nature has even had a go.

But people don't visit here, unless there is a Mega event on.
And most of the others just look like they want to thrash their 4WDs. Possibly looking for firewood.

The bananas don't know. None to ask. Walking the mountain today, we had it all to ourselves.

I couldn't be bothered driving all the way to this one,
so enjoyed a stroll for the last 800 metres to this cache Big Grin
Some steepish bits of track to stumble down to get to GZ,
but after the bulldozer has been through,
hardly a challenge for any 4WD with a bit of ground clearance to get over those moguls Razz

Cache found,
it was time to get the exercise bit !!
Up, up and away Smile

Good containers !! Big Grin

Staying at Alexandra after the event, today we tackled a few caches within the area and this was one of them.

So off went the Geo Cruiser and we headed into the 4x4 country. Yep its steep and has high moguls, nothing to stop the Geo Cruiser. Once at the top we had a quick look around and then headed back down the steep hill. Thanks Clever Monkey for providing these 4x4 challenges for us.

Cache and contents were in excellent condition. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found with dazzpete and Geoturtle37. Out for a day a 4wd fun. It is great to give the 80 series a bit of a work out at what is was built for. Geoturtle37 is feeling a lot more relaxed about our adventures now as these tracks are much milder than the ones we started the day on. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

PHEW! At last a track that I didn't worry about. Cache was located, signed and returned. Thanks for the cache and showing us around this awesome area.

Well we got here 'easily' enough but getting out is going to be another story; especially as we are not going out the way we came in.

Out and about off the well beaten track grabbing a few smilies with au.fait and Happy Feet this afternoon and we managed a quick find after a short search. Great chance to test the old 4wd out and also explore the area. Thanks again Truckasaurus for the hide and adventure.

In Alexandra for the event and spent the day in and around the area with au fait and Happy pants. Some interesting caches in some lovely locations with the various scenery. A quick find made here while exploring the area, hoping the dark clouds stayed at bay.
Thanks Clever Monkey for placing the cache for us to find.

Found at 4:10 PM GAFF1.
OK we can do this. Just 800 metres from No. 5 and there are just a few drops of rain that are hitting our windscreen. No problems. We have phone reception and the CO's truckamaximus was just a few kms away if we got stuck. As it turned out the cache was quickly found with good co-ords and we were able to get down to the main road well before any rain hit us. Back at camp we set up our drinks and Phetlern turned up to celebrate another great day caching Big Grin
Thanks Clever Monkey.

Everything out here is so still, man. The Welder and I walked to here after dumping the vehicle at the track junction nearer to #5. Which left something like a wee 700 metre hike to this one. Pleasant twas, a bit of up and a bit of down and little more up again. Or something. Just enough undulations to save me from feeling cold. (I'd previously noted that I should ideally have been wearing another layer by that time of the evening.) The cache was in pretty much the first place The Welder looked, while I overshot the mark fractionally. Happily The Welder escaped unscathed this time around, but elsewhere this evening he definitively demonstrated that his special superpower is getting bitten by the latches on Tactix containers. Once is misfortune, twice is...etc, etc. One really gets to know oneself through geocaching. Thanks again Clever Monkey!

Having had these two caches on my watchlist since they were published, I had been itching big time to come and find them! Razz
Especially since we had so much fun on the last 3 Truckasaurus caches Big GrinCool[^]
Between work Twisted, tiredness [)] and the weather Twisted my desire just grew and grew Razz the more frustrated Twisted I became at delay after delay Sad
I try to heed warnings I really do but ...... telling locus cache she might get stuck is like telling the ocean it might experience tides Razz
Tonight I could stand it no more and so being the companiable cacher I am Razz I sms'd two local geocachers to see if they'd join me[?]
They both could and so we 3 set off into the unknown with great excitement and anticipation [?]Big Grin[?]
What would we find, track wise and cache wise[?]
The fantastic news is that we found both caches and both were WooHoo!! Cool Joint *FTF* SmileBig Grin
The track was extremely passable apart from 2 very small sections that would be muddy and slippery when very wet, considering one appeared to cross a waterway. Otherwise it was a pretty good gravelly rocky base for most of the track.
An awesome night time drive where we hit pockets of fog and the multitude of layers and heights made for an interesting view Cool
I was the lucky one who saw 2 wombats, 1 koala sitting on the road, 2 possums, 1 wallaby and an unknown red eyed creature possibly a fox and all this while driving! Seems I really was watching the road! RazzWink

We had a blast and our huge thanks to the very patient CO for the fun adventure! Cool

I have to add that the night time experience up here was BRILLIANT! The stars glittered and the clearing allowed us to see more stars than we could at the last cache. It was Fantastic! Smile

Joint *FTF* at 10.36pm on Star Wars Day.
May the Fourth be with you.
And the force was definitely with us.
The force behind the wheel was locus cache, and the very compliant cooperative Harry was our worthwhile carriage.
dalerious was our second navigator, and was most helpful.
My main task was to hang on tightly and keep watch for marauding creatures of the night.
I'm sure my holding on tightly was what kept Harry intact on the bumpy journey.
And locus cache's 'yahoo' screech upon finding the blank log warded off any nightlife within a goodly mile.
On the way home though, both a wombat and wallaby crossed our path, and a koala sat watching us pass, from the side of the road. Red eyes picked up by the headlights, we assumed to be a fox. And the fog that hovered over many of the roads we travelled, just added to the atmosphere of the adventure.
Thanks so much for the very interesting evening's entertainment.

Joint *ftf* @22:36 on "International Star Wars Day" with locus cache and CybergranV. Big Grin

Text from locus cache @ 6:23pm - "Who's up for a 2 hour drive each way for a possible 2 FTF's?"
My reply - "I'm still at work but finish in 5 mins."
Considering that I think both CybergranV and locus cache were already sitting in "Harry" the geocar, the rest was just details.Cool

TFTC. Clever Monkey. Loved the location and the track to it. Thanks also to locus cache for the invite and excellent driving.[^]
Took nothing left R2D2. May the 4th be with you.Wink
