*** Have you logged your trackables? ***
If you picked up trackables at the 2018 OzGeomuster Mega don’t forget to place them in your inventory. There are still a number of trackables sitting in the event. We are positive the owners are waiting to see where they end up!
In case you missed it, the OzGeomuster team are hosting another mega event in 2019! You can find more information at GC7N7ZC or www.ozgeomuster.com. See you there!
Thank you for hosting this geocaching event! The date of the event has passed. We automatically archive events after 30 days (60 days for Mega- and Giga-Events). Attendees can still log archived events, log trackables, and share their experiences.
Hello from the USA. I am trying to find my travel bug https://coord.info/TB6ZAC8 Frozen Pluto that was placed in the event on 26 Feb 2018
Does anyone have it? If so, would you be so kind as to send it on it's way?
Warm regards,
Richard (Plutakii)

Calling all Geomuster attendees! In the link below is a short survey. It's primary aim is to provide feedback to our major sponsor, Lake Macquarie City Council but may also form as data for possible future events across Australia. All responses are completely anonymous and the survey should take less than 5min. We appreciate your support! Happy caching!

This was a first mega event that we had been to. It was fun to see all the different activities and to catch up with old friends. Thank you to the team for setting this up!
The Dirge of The Nano Ranters. Sung to the tune of The House of the Rising Sun. Cannon prop is not mandatory.
There is a cache in (some town near you)
It's a nano on a gun
And it's been the ruin of many a cacher
And God I know I'm one
My mother was a painter
She painted my ammo cans
My father was a battery man
Down in Ardrossan
Now the only thing a cacher needs
Is a GPS and sat loc
And the only time he's satisfied
Is when he's found that box.
[Organ Solo]
Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sincere misery
Looking for a nano on a gun
Well, I’ve got one foot on the breech
The other foot on the ring
I'm goin' back to (some town near you)
To find that damn nano thing.

I came, I saw, I had fun.
On the way home, I turned and said to my dad, "Best MEGA ever".
Really enjoyed the clown/magician.

What a great weekend!!! Loved the talent show, the coffee truck and the geostalls too (new gadgets on the Xmas list now). The Lab Caches on site were fantastic!
Thanks everyone
Thanks everyone
JSando and I made the long slow trek to the Muster. Unfortunately we didn’t have much time there, but what we did see revealed a very well organised event. Thank you for the event, the fun and the hospitality.
We got here a few days early for the event and have stayed on a couple more after. Another Mega we have thoroughly enjoyed The caches have been fun and varied. The lab caches on site were terrific, so much work put into them and a good laugh was had. The coffee van was a great idea, nothing like a cappuccino in the mornings!
We enjoyed the markets and all the event stalls. The talent show was good fun and we particularly liked the tuba playing Scotsman and his partner! The fireworks were great and all in all we enjoyed it all and weren’t disappointed with anything! A big Thanks for a great time go to the organisers and volunteers and everyone else who contributed. THANK YOU ALL

Had a great time .... caught up with our friends and made new ones
TFTA ...well done
TFTA ...well done
Just "visiting" a TB - one of the 26 that I picked up from the TB table had not actually been dropped in to the event, and I figured it was there, at least on the day I picked it up, so I had better log the visit for it
We enjoyed being there. Thank you to all the committee and volunteers who worked so hard to make it a great success
YAY, my 5th mega in 2 years and this was certainly a brilliantly organised and fun one, but man oh man, the heat and humidity was overwhelming at times.
What a nice little get away.....I needed some R&R and so decided to head across the border from SA to Victoria and then NSW to attend the OzGeoMuster Mega with friends.
I mainly hung out with the lovely micaparamedic and the fabulous ChooknChunk and I also enjoyed many happy moments with others.
Some of the stand out moments included: camping in Belanglo State Forest and doing a night cache at 1am; 4wding and having water over the car bonnet; sitting around and chatting/chilling; sleeping loads; relaxing continuously and then watching some fab fireworks (thanks Team Crackers), and all in all a much needed break. Gary and I slowly made our way back to Bendigo before heading back to Adelaide.
Thanks so much for the mega ozgeomuster!

It’s taken me eight and a half years as a cacher, but I’ve finally attended my first MEGA!!!! And I’m sure it won’t be my last. Thanks to the committee for their MEGA hard work in getting the muster up and running, to all my fellow cachers for placing hides and/or getting it to MEGA status and a special “mwah” to a few extra people for accommodation and company that made my weekend a MEGA success!!!
A big BRAVO to the organisers, what a well run event. It still amazes me that these kinds of events are free for attendees, we are truly blessed. Met some awesome new friends, saw some beautiful country side, spent quality time with Jezza and had not one mishap (Unlike the Alice event)
Loved the Lab Caches, catching up with the reviewers and who knew we had so many talented cachers, topped off with dazzling fireworks.
Glad to belong to such an awesome family.
#600 find for me and I didn't realise it was a certificatable (is that even a word)milestone - happy all the same.

We love attending the Megas and this has been no exception. This is our 7000 find and there has been some great hides around the area to get us here. Thanks to all the organinsers for pulling this all together. Even my non caching family really enjoy themselves and the entertainment was terrific. See you all next year.
Thanks ozgeomuster for putting on a fantasitic event for us to attend.

Attended with BillHill531 and Orrsome86. Today's mission was to find twelve different cache types. This was our seventh find and type for the day. We pulled in, tried to get a slushy, but the shed was closed.
The other three days we went it was much more lively. I really enjoyed this whole weekend, thanks entirely to all the hard work the organisers put into it. I especially loved the seminars and am very excited to put what I learned into caches (that is the correct phrase, right). I hope there will be another one some day.

YAY, my 5th mega in 2 years and this was certainly a fun one, but man oh man, the heat and humidity nearly killed me.
Feedback:
* Overall the event was well organised and really was wonderful.
* It would have been good to have a printed out program in our welcome packs.
*I LOVED the lab caches, and the technology on the 2 located in the pavillion was spectacular! It would have been good to receive an announcement that the flag in the playground's labcache was missing as we wasted a lot of time here looking in the heat, which an announcement on this cache page (which would have come through our emails in real time) would have alerted us to not visit this site, needing to hear this via a PAF or word of mouth was not really good enough.
* The venue and onsite camping was brilliant
* It would have been useful to know exactly what each 'challenge' prizes consisted of so that the participant could make an informed determination how to spend their time ie. to do the 160km trip or not.
* The talent show was fun!
* The volunteers/helpers were super friendly and lovely
WELL DONE GUYS!

Up from Canberra for the Mega! Teamed up with ZimbaW (+ Ridgeopup!) and Mizwacket where we cruised round in the Jeep to collect our target caches Not a crazy weekend for numbers as we wanted to enjoy the other things on offer as well as take it easy. The whole weekend was a blast!
What a fantastic event! So many things I enjoyed - all the happenings at the showground, the talent show, the lab caches, the food canteen, the coffee van, catching up with geofriends for chats & drinks plus the fireworks!
Many thanks to the organisers and volunteers for putting on such a wonderful event! WELL DONE!!

My last log for the ozgeomuster. We arrived early & completed all the puzzle trails so that we would have more time to socialize.
I must thank the committe for all their time & effort that went into organizing this event. The weather stayed dry & mild which gave us plenty of time to catch up with old friends & to meet so many others.
The final evening was a real hoot, watching all the contestants. Sanga & steak sandwiches were appreciated by all. This was then followed by the impressive fireworks put on by Team Crackers.
Once again thankyou to all those involved.

ACTchil and I drove up to attend this Mega and stay on site from Thursday and this was my 4th Mega and I have to congratulate the whole of the Committee,, the OzGeoMuster puzzle caches owners, all the volunteers, and the showground caretakers for such a fantastic effort to bring this event all together. I had an awesome time and good to see all the smilies dor the OZGM puzzles on the map. thanks again it was amazing.
Arrived at the Mega on Friday, and 'checked in', and then went and had a great time with family that lives in the area. Drove past here quite a few times over the Easter. And dropped back for some Lab Caches when published.
Certainly picked a GOOD weekend for the Mega.
What did disappoint me was, despite logging a "Will Attend" back in May 2017, that there wasn't a 'Freebie' bag put aside! Blah!
I had brought a bunch of Trackables along in the car for the journey, so will bump them through.

Well, what an adventure this Mega Event has been! A year ago Jess & I attended the Red Centre event, which was our first ever event, and was our 200th find. Since then we have explored many places, and I have embraced geocaching in many ways. Jess, not so much... but that's teenagers for ya! This event, one year on, is our 2000th find. I certainly never imagined it a year ago.
My DT grid has just three vacant spots in it, and I have many many memories to go with all the other green squares. The trip to this mega event included some great experiences, as did the days here. It was great meeting new people and catching up with others again. Thanks to everyone who helped organise and run the event, and to all the geocachers for making it memorable and fun.

I had a great trip and collected many geocaches. What more can you ask for?
This is my find #2,000!
This is my find #2,000!
Kudos to the organisers. Well done on a great MEGA. We had a great time and loved all of the activities you put on for us. Caught up with the global group that is the geocaching community. An amazing bunch of good folk.
F(H)ound It! #2559
With the Ridgeo-pup, Miz Wacket and SpecimenX.
What a marvellous long weekend. We camped in unpowered sites but didn't spend too much time there, just enough to get some well earned rest.
We attended all the related events, including a CITO and a flashmob. Learnt something new at the meet the Reviewers seminar. Solved and found the OZGM puzzles and the Cachentine series. Did all the lab caches - the ones on site were really terrific, especially the Asylum one. A couple of Wherigo's (one found by accident LOL). And attempted to find as many types as we could in a day. Laughed, sang, clapped and occasionally winced at the talent event. Enjoyed a sausage sizzle and socialising in the queue. I even met some caching legends out in the wild.
We also appreciated breakfast and good coffee being available every morning. I left the site for the fireworks (The RP doesn't like them) but were able to admire them from a distance.
The Ridgeo-pup enjoyed herself and enjoyed some petting and loving on her head from the many cachers that she met.
Thanks for the awesome fun ozgeomuster. A really well run event.

So excited to be here. Going to have a very busy couple of day as we try to do everything on our very long list. Happy to be making this my 2500th Cache, a milestone in my eyes if not GC.
My first ever Mega! I had no idea what to expect, but it definitely and awesome kind of event. Loved the Lab caches, which I've never done before. Found plenty of Geocaches. Met familiar and in-familiar Geocachers. Overall I had an awesome time in the Geo-mayhem. TFTC Ozgeomuster!
Well what can I say this was our very first Mega Event, it was nothing short of exciting for filling and fun, we enjoyed camping with the other Geo caches and did lots of caching like virtual ,puzzles ,traditional and for the first time lab caches.
The firework show was absolutely fantastic the talent show was pretty good too it was great to do a lot of things like path tag trading and meeting new people and can honestly say we had a great time the kids had a ball with all the other kids around. I would also like to thank all of The committee for all their work to make it a spectacular event.
Oh and it was our #700th find

Nice to be able to catch up with old and new cachers, coming down on most days for different things. (WhereIGo lessons, Lab Caches, Markets and sponsor markets) Thanks to the committee for putting this on. Very well done.
My third mega event. This time i managed to bring my little brother Jwombat along.
Met a few familiar faces.
Thanks for organising the event.

Many Thanks for My first Mega and the hard work that it took to make this a memorable event
My first MEGA! Thoroughly enjoyed and all kudos to the very efficient and friendly organisers and volunteers. A beautiful location, visited for the first time from Western Australia.
Just dropped in from WA. Congratulations to the organising commitee for a great Mega which we both enjoyed.
My first Mega too! Whoo Hoo! A huge thanks to all the committee and the hard working volunteers for creating such an enjoyable gathering of like minded peeps, and such stunning surrounding and location.
Thanks very much to the organisers of this event - we all enjoyed ourselves both at the event and while we were out caching. Everything ran smoothly and we participated in many activities - shame we had to leave on Sunday afternoon. Looking forward to next year's GeoMuster! TFTE!
Thankyou for an amazing long weekend. A big thankyou to the organisers for putting together such a well organised event. This was our first Mega we felt very welcome and look forward to future events
Thanks all for a great campsite, interesting lab caches and a great opportunity for a family get together over Easter.
Stopped in to see what was happening after meeting some friendly geocachers, welcome to our home patch hope you all had a great time, sad to have missed most of the event but we are enjoying solving the puzzles as fast as we can
Well, half a year ago I decided to go to the OZGeomuster Event, even before it became a Mega, so it is Great to finally have been to one.
While Thanks to all the organisers, I was not able to get a Freebies bag, for whatever reason.

Up from Canberra for the Mega. Fantastic event. Well-organised and had lots to offer in the area. We managed to do a lap or two of Lake Macquarie during our visit. TFTE
I really had a great time. It was wonderful catching up with so many friends from melbourne and actually remembering some names (rare for me). I love the spirit of the geocaching community and their willingness. It was great being able to share lab caches with people who helped me with what was the joke of a huge amount of puzzle caches. really what where you trying to achieve. It seems like each state has its wanker attribute that doesn't cater for the whole geocaching community for mega events. We have the tree climb state, the film canister at the bottom of a fence post on a dirt road stay. Now we have the stupidly high amounts of difficult puzzle caches state. It was such a let down on what was a great event and I think it probably just made the whole thing more stressful for the organisers who really could have spent that time actually enjoying what they had achieved in putting on the event. Sure have some puzzle caches, but cater for all abilities. Don't forget trad trails as well, instead of claiming of we have 1000 within 30kms or something but they are all spread out. I also feel sorry for the people's who's day to day lives will have been affected by the amount of time needed to solve these caches. Thank heavens for the spirit of people that shared the answers. My other improvements are less distance between lab caches and organisers need to think more carefully about community stall holders. Do they do enough business for it to be feasible. I hope note is taken on how much was purchased rather then just telling them 500 people will be their.
I loved spending time around lake macquarie and the chance to spend time bumping into cachers along the way. I liked some of the different ideas like the talent show and the social food items.
Really disappointed about other events putting calling cards which are basically trash into all the caches along the way.
I appreciated the effort to computerise everything. Eventhough I don't discover trackables, the idea of signing them in and then emailing people the list is great.
Thanks to participants for making this such a fun and wonderful time. Thanks to the organisers as well. It really was a great event with a lot of options even if just about everything had a difficulty attached.

Thanks for an amazing event! Even though we only live down the road we couldn’t miss the opportunity to camp - fantastic effort by all involved.
Just an addendum to the Attended log I posted on Friday. I had a wonderful time on the three days I was able to visit, particularly enjoying bumping into the many visitors while driving around on Saturday finding those geoart puzzle caches I've been able to solve to date, the trade and display tables at the venue, the Breakfast with the Reviewers on Sunday, the tech cache seminar straight afterwards and just wandering around the streets of Morisset finding the pre-existing caches there. A great weekend to remember, for sure, and thanks again to the organisers for a fantastic show.
Well what can I say about my first Geomuster, but... THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN!
Thanks for putting on a wonderful event and I'm so glad it went MEGA!
I solved puzzles, cached, talked, listened, laughed, ate, played my ukulele and ooooed at the fireworks!
OK now I need to go and get some sleep... zzzzzzzzzz

Teamed up with The Rats to tackle the back half of the Mega Oz GeoMuster event based in Morriset. We ventured up very early on Sunday morning and popped into the event before heading right up to the old Frying Pan cache. Then it was back around Maitland, Kurri Kurri, down around the bottom of Lake Macquarie and into the event, followed by some night caching in Newcastle. Monday it was a couple of events, many different cache types and homewards. TFTC!
Certainly for the time we spent at the event it seemed well organised a a good place to be. Thanks so much to the organisers for a great event.

A spur of the moment decision and I was off to NSW for Easter weekend. I had a great time catching up with friends, new and old and even got a milestone, logging the mega as my 33000th cache find.
As part of a shortened Easter caching weekend, steeba and the Rats headed north to be part of the Geomuster mega weekend around the Lake Macquarie area. Traveling as far north as Frying Pan ck and down south to Doyalson we managed to find a good splattering of caches.
Arriving at the mega late it was great see it in full swing, the talent quest being the highlight of our night. It was great to catch up with all the familiar faces. Thanks to the committee for organising a great 4-day mega event.

After so much anticipation, Bobl27 and I are finally attending our first Mega! There has been so much to see and do all weekend - I have even missed key activities as there was so much on offer! Caching or activities, or lunch, or friends, or sightseeing - agghhhhh! Found all the OZGM puzzles, and stacks more besides, a few choice trads and all the interesting ones nearby. Registration was smooth, the lab caches were fun, the reviewer panel informative and the organization great! A huge thanks to the team for all their hard work sweat and tears. Can’t wait for my next mega - I will be a seasoned mega attendee by then!
Thanks ozgeomuster for the amazing event - caching overload!

Will update later, meet a few familiar and new cachers. A great experience and most of all many caches were found. Thanks all for the effort that went into the event.
Attended with Genyo, I'm quite late to logging this event. Thanks to everyone involved in organising this event, it was a job well done!
There were 4 or 5 of us there, thanks all for organizing this great event.
Came along on the Sunday to spend some time with my son.
Did not spend much time at the event site.
Thankyou for arranging all the fun.

re recording chasing the souvenir

Big congratulations to all involved with this event. Lots of caches to do and lots of opportunities to catch up with cachers near and far. Had a great time and many thanks.

**Cache #5555!!!!**
I'm up at Caves Beach for the Easter long weekend with my family and some friends. All are muggles and ex-cachers, so I didn't get a very long leave pass to head west to attend this MEGA. Still, a few hours was hopefully good enough to give me a taste.
After getting here, I registered and picked up my showbag, and then was helped around the closer lab caches (some of which had thrown my cache count out; deleting the logs since has now fixed my stats).
Then it was time to look around, during which I was able to catch up with a lot of old caching mates from Sydney. I did a little geo-shopping, grabbed a selfie with Signal and then it was time to watch the panel of Geocaching reviewers. By the time that wrapped up, I had to get back on the road and head back to Caves Beach for lunch with the fam.
It was short but sweet; certainly if I had a bit more time I would have loved to stay for more on-site stuff or hit the geo trail with some of my caching buddies. It was my first MEGA, hopefully my first of many and I hope I can spend more time at the next one. Thanks to the ozgeomuster crew for putting on a fantastic MEGA - job well done!

Wow what a great event. We thoroughly enjoyed camping on site and doing all the activities and catching up with new and old cachers. We appreciated all the effort that went into planning, creating and running the event. Plus all the puzzle geoart that was put out for the event. The bbq and fireworks were great. Well done to all. Of course Mary & David were there. Where to start, but to thank the Committee for such an amazing Mega. Thanks to the sponsors, stall holders, the coffee van, which we patronised quite a few times, and to the Scouts in the canteen, who worked tirelessly. Would you believe we won their raffle, and collect our boogie board prize at the Scout Hall on Tuesday evening? Our Melbourne grandson will be delighted. The weather has been wonderful. In Melbourne we are just not used to sunshine and humidity.
What a sight for sore eyes to see emerald green grass and rampant lantana ($10 for a small potted one at a garden centre in Victoria). Palm trees added a tropical touch, while pink frangipani and hibiscus as big as saucers made it seem like we were in the NT. We were in a puzzler group, so the GeoArt caches were solved by the group according to their strengths, and we managed to find them all before we headed for home.. We don't have a caravan, so stayed not too far away at the Big4 in a cabin. The show ground facilities and area made it such a social Event ,and how wonderful to see so many friends from every State. Had a great time with pathtag trading but, sadly, our own Event pathtags didn't arrive in time. We enjoyed the reviewers session, and especially the outing of Balayang.
Children of all ages, dogs of every size and shape were very well behaved. Have to congratulate Craig for the high standard of his MC role - the brevity and clarity of his introductions and speeches were just right. The Night Market and Food were another interesting feature and well patronised too. The goodies bag was great, as were the Event shirts and pathtag set. The Talent Quest was very entertaining and revealed some hidden gems.
The staff across the road at the Morisset Country Club recognised us after quite a few good meals there, and they were delighted with the caching patronage. We didn't mind the queue to begin with as it was another opportunity to talk.
The Committee can all breathe easy now and relax. We will all have the best memories of the way the Event has showcased the area. Like the fireworks, it all went off with a bang. Our thanks to ozgeomuster.

A somewhat shorter visit than initially planned due to non caching issues. Still great to catch up with a few people and find a few caches nearby. Looks like it was a great success. Well Done Oz GeoMuster committee. TFTC
We were at the HAVOC event in 2015 when it was announced - Lake Macquarie was going to host the Geomuster in 2018. It seemed such a long way away. But now it's here and when we're on a good thing, we stretch it out as long as possible. Our Mega was nine days long. We enjoyed everything about it - camping on site, the talent quest and seemyshell's MC work (a talent in itself), the lab caches, markets, the coffee van with super friendly service, the free barbie, new puzzle caches that kept us puzzling up until the event and into the future, Team Crackers sensational fireworks, the washing machine (yes, a small thing for some but MrsG was thrilled to see it) and so much more. We've got scratches, bites, sore muscles, sunburn, eaten far too much fast-food, tired, saddle sore (yeah okay, so only MrsG) and at times smelt so sweaty we were afraid to make close contact with anyone. What a great event! To the committee members and volunteers, a big thank you from us. Well done!
I started my 6 day adventure on Thursday...the mega was fantastic...caught up with lots of caching friends & buddies...swapped pathtags...ate steak & waffles...drank coffee...ate chocolate...did some caching...some more challenging than others...late nights and early mornings...saw some beautiful countryside...got stuck in traffic...watched "talented" cachers...saw awesome fireworks...

What another amazing mega. Had so many laughs with friends. Not much caching happened but a lot of fun was had, a few days out to see the sights and pick up a few targeted caches.
Some great entertainment and I even won a prize. Just love a great mega. Thanks to everyone involved.

My 1st event ever. I had the most fun with the LabCaches. And the night time shows were fun.
Here from Canada for our 2nd mega. We had a fantastic time... It was great to meet up with so many of our old friends from previous trips to Aus and to make new ones!
