TFTC. Cash and contents are in excellent condition.I found this one about 3 m from the posted GZ and yes, my phone was jumping around a fair bit as well. TheCO has posted a photo showing a rock near GZ. I found the cache to be about 10 m from this location at the same elevation adjacent to some nice shady trees in that area and well hidden under some cutting grass its a difficult find and took me some time to locate it. In front of the posted photo from CO there is a recently fallen tree, the fallen log points to the general direction of the cache. It really is a case of slow and steady, wins the race with this hide.
Zero fun looking for this one. Everyone says coords are out so why not add a hint and fix the coordinates so people can find the cache? Even better post the image of where it is. Wasted 45 minutes here.
Melz-777 here, cache is safe and intact, exactly where it has always been. GPS on phone was jumping around a bit. Please message for a photo hint if you're struggling! Happy hunting
### Cache Maintenance Visit Required please.###This geocache has been brought to my attention as needing an Owner Maintenance visit, as the logs indicate that it is most likely missing, or else some other problem exists with the cache. See the [GCHQ Health Score](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713) process.I agree that it certainly seems necessary to have it checked by the Cache Owner. The cache owner needs to:* Take action to restore the cache or address issues such as correcting the D/T rating.* Re-enable the cache by posting an Enable log* Post an Owner Maintenance log to advise what has been done and to clear any Needs Maintenance attribute that is present. Otherwise :* Post a Note Log to request more time if necessary or provide other information.. **Do not use an Owner Maintenance log for this. That is for use only **when you actually do something to repair the cache**. Alternatively:* Archive the cache, and remove any remaining geo-litter from the site.In the meantime, I've temporarily disabled the cache page to await owner action by melz-777 and to take it off the playing board to prevent further geocaching community inconvenience.[Please see the maintenance section of the Geocache Hiding Guidelines.](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines?expand=1#cachemaintenance)**I will check back in 30 days** to see that action has been by the CO.If nothing has happened, I will assume that the cache has been abandoned, and, unfortunately, I will need to Archive this cache. *Caches archived because of lack of maintenance/abandonment will not be unarchived.*The Geocaching Community needs to have a degree of certainty that a cache is in good condition, waiting to be found, and the CO has a responsibility to maintain their caches. Please see [my profile page](https://www.geocaching.com/p/default.aspx?u=Balayang) for additional information.Thank youBalayang -GeoffCommunity Reviewer
Overseas at the moment. Will be back next week and I'll trek up and see what's going on
Cache is still there. Hard to find as most finders indicate between 3m and 10m away from GZ. Try S41 29.229 E147 08.661
Spent a fair bit of time bush whacking with dantheman470 and katie1376. No joy.
With a day planned on foot to grab hides in the Kate Reed Nature Recreation Area [lets call it the KRNRA for short, lol even that is kinda long ha ha]. Cache #14th for my day {hoping like crazy i don't get rained out later as it was forecast for after lunch }
I was looking all round here for this one until i decided to widen the search somewhat. Rain was threatening so i was kind of in a hurry a bit which didn't help my focus. In the end i kind of got lucky coz as i was moving stringy bush foliage around then it was sighted. I found it to be about 3 or so metres closer to the path from the really obvious area.
A neat container indeed with totally dry contents within.

This afternoon I decided the dog and I needed to stretch our legs. What better place to do it than the Kate Reed Reserve. After the rain last night the bush smelt beautiful, it was really relaxing just wandering around, looking for caches, following paths and breathing the fresh air.
This one has eluded me . I looked for it on the way up for quite sometime and then when I returned from finding some other caches I had another go and still no luck. This just means I will have to come back another day and have another look.

First cache on my list for this afternoon.
Had been here previously and spent ages looking. Today I pretty much walked straight up to it as I was using my Map62 instead of the phone.
Thanks for the cache!

Still in Launceston we decided to head to Kate Reed reserve which is very close to the caravan park where we were staying. There are so many caches that are in here, so today instead of driving past we headed in. We attempted 13 today and can report we found all 13 attempted. It is great area so close to the city but such a shame about the gorse. We moved the car and parked Prospect side of the reserve and headed off. Boy this one took a while to find. I reckon we spent an hour here all up so very pleased to be able to sign the log as Mrs W found it as we were about to give up. Deserves a favourite as a very cute cache container. TFTC
I had found 3 other caches in Kate’s reserve and I decided I had just a small amount of time to go find this one. I spent about 15 minutes here looking and I gave up as my phone is not accurate at all. I need to come back with a more accurate GPSr next time!
Took a bit of hunting to find this one. In the end the co-ords were spot on, I should have just looked closer at the area where the GPS said to.
Cool cache container!

Out and about collecting caches around Kate Reed that I hadn't got yet. After reading previous logs i started looking around on the ground. And then like others, nearly stepped on it. It's an awesome cache. Scared me a little when I first saw it
Heading towards gz I was still approaching at around 12m and I looked to my feet. Cache found. Easy peasy. So lucky. Interesting cache found. A bit of work with the tweezers and the cache was found. Cache found. How good is that.
The cache was found in the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

So I'm meandering around trying to decide the best location to look and I nearly stepped on it. Wow.. clever
I spent ages on this cache. My GPSr convinced me it was in a different place. Out of frustration I searched wider and found the cache. It was not all that different from my preconceived ideas, but different enough. I'm glad I can clear this DNF off my list.
Out collecting some caches and found this one after finding South Reed.
The coords were good...but took me awhile to spot the hide.
Thanks to the cacher who left some tweezers on the big rock as they sure did come in handy.
Loved the container...many tftc Melz-777...much appreciated...cheers ST.

My map of this area was untidy with three unfound caches so my aim this afternoon was to rectify that situation. Once at GZ this cache was not a quick find but after extensive search cache was in hand and the log signed. Thank you for a great cache.
Have searched in vain for this slippery bloke a couple of times before. Today was in the reserve chasing x3 unfound caches and had a little more time on my hands. The GPSr simply would not settle and was near useless. From previous attempts and from the couple of photos in the gallery, narrowed down the general area then commenced a systematic inch by inch search of likely spots. 10 to 15 minutes ticked by, revisited a certain spot a couple of times, pushed that aside, change viewing angle, aaagh.. there it be. Creative container.. thanks..!!
We have often looks at Kate’s series of caches in her reserve but for some reason have never quite got there so this time we plotted to get a number of them.
Some nice field puzzles and a bit of wildlife as we worked our way around and also picked up the higher rated traditionals.
No real problems with the hides after we let the GPSr settle. A maze of tracks at some points and a few mountain bikers to dodge at one stage. We completed the various signing duties and re hid. TFTC.

A good hide, aptly named. One of several picked up today while out enjoying the reserve. TFTC
I feel as though I can channel Lombardi here - it's not that I didn't find it, I just ran out of time .
Finally got around to coming back to get this one... Thanks for the sneaky cache we loved this one ... Didn't have a pen on us though...
On a ride in Kate Reed park today with the intention of leaving the area full of smileys. We succeeded in our mission, but we did only have 7 caches to find having found all the others previously.
Rode to within a few metres of this one and thanks to the clue the cache was quickly found. Used to have the same container at home but don't know what happened to it.
Thanks, and a favourite point for cuteness.

Day 21 of my trip from Adelaide and my penultimate day in Tasmania.
I spent the day pottering around the broader Launceston area seeking out a few caches that I had targeted. There was plenty of walking and plenty of ups and downs. The weather was a bit variable - mostly cloudy and drizzling on and off. I finished up finding a nice variety of caches including traditionals, puzzles, multis, a wherigo and an earthcache.
There were a few caches that interested me in the Kate Reed Reserve so, after parking by the flyover at the Kingsmeadows Link road, I ventured up the trails to find them.
This cache wasn’t on the target list, but as Zi was walking past it anyway, I thought I’d take a look. It took me a while to find it, but once I did it made me smile.
Thanks melz-777 the cache.

Tassie Trip Day 192 - It was time to do the other half of Kate Reserve and in doing so a walk was undertaken but this time it was only a one way walk. Dropped off at the Kingsmeadows end and walked out on the prospect side. It was a great day for a walk and some interesting tracks in that area.
Well this was a great spot but alas it was not a find for me today and after an extensive search the decision was made to move on very reluctantly but the time was moving on.
Thanks melz-777 for bringing me here.

This one had eluded us before and it looked like the same thing was going to happen again but a slight deviation from what we thought was GZ enabled us to spot this unique cache. TFTC and a fav point from us.
Struggled to find this one but found him in the end. About 15m up off the track. TFTC

Thanks for the cache melz-777. Found with RLD4963 on a visit to Launceston. A cool, clear sunny day for the last day of Autumn - perfect for a stroll around Kate Reed Reserve looking for caches. This was one of the trickier finds for the day, but found some assistance in one of the previous logs. With an extra bit of info, RLD4963 soon had the cache in hand - nice container! Log was soon signed, and cache returned to it's hiding place. Cheers!
Ok. This one had me scratching my head with the name until I found the cache. Now I get it. Lol.

On a stroll around the Kate-lands today,
I headed for the RV park [:o)]
Or maybe not !!
So what other interpretation of the cache name can I come up with ??
Well there's on obvious answer
But finding the cache still took me a goodly 15 minutes of combing the scenery
At last !!
Exactly what I thought I would find,
appeared behind one of those nasty *lomandras* [:o]
I coaxed the logbook out of its shell,
and soon claimed another smilie

No find for this one today. Doing a bit of a round trip from Lake Macquarie to Kings Meadows for the weekend, 2DNFs and 6finds in Kates reserve . Will have to try some other time melz-777
Back in Tassie finding caches that have been published since our visit.
This one took longer than it should have, had to have a second go to find its hidy hole. A great cache container and an appropriate name for the cache.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Although we appeared to make it to a well trampled GZ we couldn't find the cache. Sounds like a tricky one to try again.
Hello melz-777 thank you for the cache.
Junior EeePees was in Launceston doing some refereeing at some soccer games over the weekend so EeePees asked me if I wanted to join him for the weekend and see if we could find some caches while J.E.P. was refereeing. Of course I jumped at the chance to spend the weekend with such a great mate and find caches in and around Launceston.
This was my 5th for the day and the 35th for the weekend.
We worked our way to GZ and started our search we looked high we looked low we looked here we looked there and then I spotted some thin that looked different and there it was the cache. A very nice hide.
I ended up with 25 caches today and 55 caches found over the weekend and one DNF.

Oh, very nice melz-777, a very cute cache, very aptly named, sneakily concealed, but easily enough to spot with a keen eye, from the right angle. We spent a bit of time searching, before AlbyDangles made the find.
Out and about caching with AlbyDangles. We'd travelled up from Hobart Friday night, found a bunch of nice WestTamar caches yesterday. We dropped off geoTeenRef for his duties at the junior soccer tournament at ChurchillPark at 8am again today, and decided to enjoy the Kate Reed Reserve this morning.

Co ords were way off for us so a photo on here helped. Dad then shouted kids to look at the ‘weird wildlife’, approached with fear! Tftc
mmm... well we looked and looked and just could not find it. Not completely sure of what exactly we were looking for but time and daylight ran out! We will lick our disappointment wounds and be back.
Up North to gather as many caches possible in a short period. We had determined some caches that we really wanted to get and this one was on that list because we had heard how great this area was for some caches. We are getting tired from a long day of caching and this one caused us some problems. So many areas to search and our imagination was going wild with the possible container shape and size. We were just about to give up when we received a phone call from a previous finder who guided us to the well hidden container.

Whilst we were away in April and May, a number of new caches were published in the north of the state. Now that we have caught up on the immediate priorities, we turned our attention today to some of the new caches. We were very pleased that we were enjoying a superb winters day - blue skies and no wind. That proved a bonus because, as we don't know the tracks in the area, it took us a little trail and error and then about 200m of walking through light bush before coming out on a track close to GZ. That was the easy bit. We then spent the next 15 minutes looking for the cache - there were so many possible hide locations within a short radius of GZ. The cache was only discovered when one of us nearly trod on it. Luckily we didn't as it may have resulted in another need for repairs. Apart from the damage reported and repaired by previous finders, the cache and contents were in good condition (the repairs were well done). Thanks melz-777 for a great first hide - it earns a favourite from us. Please don't leave it as long for your second hide.
I cache your reality and substitute my own! TFTC.
...sorry we broke it. We'll fix it.

We've taken the cache from the site temporarily to fix, as of course I dropped it. Will be back either this afternoon, or tomorrow morning. I've messaged the owner.

A very tricky hide. Further off the track than where I was first looking. I hadn't walked all this way to give up though so I kept looking & looking. Then when I found him I couldn't work out where the log was! Needed a tool to extract the log and then all was good. A favourite point given
What a cool cache Really top effort for your first cache hide Melz.
Took me a while to find it, must have left my cache glasses at home today, actually I think this is this the first cache in Kate Reed Reserve that I've looked for in daylight hours, i found the rest up here in the dark under torch light and phones, maybe I see better in the dark lol. Thanks to melz for the extra help/hints while I was out at the GZ today, must have nearly walked over it a few times while searching, but eventually found the awesome container, then it was like, how did I not see this sooner

I thought I was on track to log a ftf for my 500th find, I was wrong. I did meet the person who got ftf at the GZ. We hunted around for about 10 minutes together. It is a great little find, week done to the CO.
