We loved this cache!!! Perfect fun for geoteens!Out on a tree climbing adventure today, and this was our first stop. This proved the perfect challenge for today. Geoson who made the climb says its his favourite cache so far. So a favourite point from us!TFTC! So much fun!

I sat myself down at a convenient place within Peninsular Fair to work out how many Challenge caches I could collect nearby. One of them required just one more act of risky difficult climbing and when I scanned the area, this cache was easily the closest and most attractive way to complete the Challenge. The fact it was raining did not deter me, nor should it deter other Phools wishing to Phlog. On more than one occasion, I have climbed a tree for caching only to find I was in the wrong tree, and today I very nearly did the same thingOnce I could see the cache and associated tool (yep, that might be handy on perhaps a warmer day), I wiggled my way up, using some moves I usually only display on a deserted dancefloor.I found the climb more challenging than expected, but I got there. The last dude made sure the bison was tight really, really tight as tight as ()So it needed both hands and then a one-handed move to extract the logetc. Of course I took a moment to Phlog my predicament (see pics). It may seem as though Im standing casually on that thin branch but its an illusion because all my weight is on my right foot.I was happy to then get down without donating blood to the scene as is so often the case with my tree climbs. All good! TFTC which was fun and a good challenge. (PS Maybe dont climb this one if its raining, kids! Do as I say, not as I do, which is pretty much my geocaching mantra, along with If you cant be a good example, be a good lesson.)

Chasing a few caches to get the next souvenir.Decided to go get this and clear up the map in the area here.Parked in not the closest spot, but looking to get my steps up a bit, so happy for the walk.Well, at GZ, there were no mozzies, but I could hear a helicopter! Cache was in good order and now has my signature! Thanks for bringing me here.

woodyrothwell I found your cache Just Phlog It Tools for Fools on 2/3/2023, 1:00 pm. This is my find 4782 and find # 4 today. Found it, retrieved it, signed it and returned it. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

I got up early this morning to watch Australia lose to Argentina in the World Cup. With the rest of my household fast asleep, I used the free time for some caching. So I ventured out with my fishing pole, figuring it would be quiet on the trails early this Sunday morning.

Despite not being particularly high off the ground, this one proved to be a challenging climb. Eventually I managed to wedge myself in sufficiently to sign the log.

The airport is very busy with GA traffic this morning. Lots of pilot doing circuits.

Many thanks Woodyrothwell

This was another target cache we had today and with their finds some of us were able to complete a challenge.

We headed of with some who had found this cache previously but do you think they could remember where it was so we wandered around circling in on the tree. But none could spot the target. So a phone call to the CO but you know what happens once you phone someone, it then appears.

Cache retrieve with a natural TOTT and we were away again.

Travelling and caching with Mrs RoddyC , Imbunda, YOF, muff1.

Out today with Imbunda, muff1 and hatzofff.

Mrs RoddyC looked back over her notes and found that she had been there back in 2018 but in good clothes and shoes but today we were all cache blind. A quick PAF and then it seemed to appear or were we looking UP far enough.

If only she had known it was that easy back then

Another play day planned with geofriends out Dayboro way but sickness changed that. So it was Peppa and I hitting the Moreton region to find caches that help us on our way to qualifying for a few challenges on the Northside.

At GZ located the cache but weren't sure if we needed the ladder or not. Peppa decided to try and climb and clung to the branches for dear life. Managed to sign the logbook and return to the ground safely. Just had to add a phlog of our own.

Found on 2 August 2022. TFTC, woodyrothwell.

#4, solo run over to D-Bay and surrounds for a day on the geo-scooter. While the climb for this one was difficult, it was made easier to retrieve with the use of a branch which I've left for the next person to use. You're welcome. TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF

The original plan for today was to tackle Dayboro… again… but with one of the team feeling unwell, a change of plans was called for… Patrol14 and I settled on Moreton LGA (for another challenge) and spent the day chasing anything that required a Special Tool (yet another challenge) or anything shiny that caught our attention…

We were here and decided this cache looked doable… that was until I actually spotted the container…. Ignoring the little voice in my head screaming “get the ladder, get the ladder!, GET THE LADDER!” I shimmied my way to the cache…

I removed the stick that was in my way (apologies to shazzar66) and retrieved the container… from my perch, I took advantage of the writing surface provided by the CO… surely that’s why it’s attached… no other reason…

I then descended, perhaps more rapidly than intended, and we were off again… tftc….

Yes one of the easiest tree caches we have ever retrieved which was really good. There must be some helicopter training going on today because it just kept going over and over and over again.TFTC

18-Nov-21
I wasn’t originally planning to find this one as, still recovering from a strained knee, I was in no state to go tree climbing. We decided, as we were nearby, to just pop in and see if we can see it for a future adventure in this area. Once spotted, we found that it was in fact retrievable using a tool instead. And that’s just what we did, using one provided for us by Mother Nature. TFTC woodyrothwell

I was walking past this one to another cache and thought I will just see if I can spot it and there it was up there. I managed some acrobatics on the tree and had the log in hand. Down I went to sign it wondering how I was going to reach to screw it back on with one hand holding onto the tree. Where there is a will there is a way and the cache is replaced where found. All good with this one. Thanks woodyrothwell for this cache.

Visiting this lovely area today with grannysmith1947 to do a little tree fishing and I just had to detour to this one for a little bit of exercise first. With teamwork, I managed to get to the cache safely, sign log and then be on our merry way.

Today, it was a mixture of two geocaching activities and areas: The morning was spent with jesswrigley at Whites Hill with a CITO event, and the afternoon was back to Redcliffe's wetlands completing the Stats Hound Challenge series (SHCS) and other interesting tree fishing geocaches nearby. A nice winter Sunday with great weather to suit.

I managed to stash my fishing TOTT from a nearby geocaches within the bushes, as I was walking to this geocache. It was a nice reserve, and just starting to get dark by the time I arrived at GZ. The cache didn't take too long in finding, and I think I was expecting this geocache to be higher. As it turned out, the tree wasn't the most climbable, just as you needed to wedge yourself in there. Otherwise, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. A nice little creek nearby too. Thanks woodyrothwell for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

I don't know, I managed to find a nice spot to lean back whilst signing it. I reckon today I must have set my record for finding caches up trees!

Out with swearah.

First was on the wrong side.

Changed sides and got to the right tree it was then a nice easy find.

Having a sore ankel and not being able to perch in this tree we found another way to get this down and the return to its perch.

On the way out swearah did almost smack me out with a brach that got caught on her bag lol glad a wait behind her a little.

Thanks for cache.
Using same tool just before writing this log.

Stephyy and I headed in to find this one and originally started on the wrong side.

Once we sorted that out, Stephyy spotted the little blighter and we had lots of giggles getting it down and signing the log.

I was a bit clutzy on the way out (#standard), but luckily Stephyy had the presence of mind to stay back a little hehe.

Thanks for the cache, woodyrothwell

It took a while for the GPS to settle down but then it did and we made our way to the right tree. Cache was easily spotted and Mrs W made the climb. Very good.

Thanks for the fun cache Woodyrothwell.

Out and about this morning with geopup collecting a few caches in the area. Arriving at gz I spotted this one quite quickly and was soon up the tree and signing the log and admiring a very handy tool.
No phlogs today though, my position up the tree was a little precarious, not being a confident tree climber I was worried about letting go!
Thanks woodyrothwell for the cache.

Out for a lovely walk in this area and stumbled across this one along the way. A bit of up and a bit of looking for a view of the airport, but none to be seen today. This said, there were plenty of small planes buzzing overhead.
Log signed.

What do you want to do for father’s day dad? Hmm how do I answer that and still have a great time, GEOCAHING, lol.

So I grabbed the girls and lined up a few caches and a little fun time over at Redcliffe. The markets were on, there was an adventure lab I hadn’t done and a lab series that I still needed to finish, oh and a tree fishing one that was just replaced to find.

I had an awesome day, we had a lot of fun playing in the parks going for walks and checking out all the new areas , plus the stalls at the markets.

We found all our target caches today and there were no problems with any, thanks to the CO’s for placing them around the area.

I had a fantastic day out just enjoying the time and the caching with the girls.

Early release from work... miserable day but not raining. Trying out our new reach tool so this cache was great for an introductory session

24-Jul-20
We had both organised an early work finish so we could have a weekend of camping and kayak caching. The weather forecast was not really compatible with this so we decided to go tree fishing instead. So much fun. Cache is in perfect order. TFTH

14-Jun-20
The first cache of the day, thought we would hit some bushland ones. This one would have been easier had we decided to take the shorter path to the cache....but we eventually found it. The problem then was how to get to it.....luckily had geohubby with us, and some climbing and maneouvering with sticks we managed to get to it, sign the log and replace it. We took the shorter path away from the cache.

07-Jun-20
This was on my list of caching targets for the year. Not sure why... but must fill some obscure statistic for a challenge! Had to wait for cycling muggles to pass by then made a quick find at the GZ. I did managed sign from up high. TFTC!

15-Feb-20
After I returned to pick my son up from the Boating and Camping show we set off to get this cache. I thought it was going to be really hard to get but we were surprised. Had forgot to spray with Bushmans when we left the car so those little fellows were starving after the rain. Mark had the cache in hand in no time and was telling me to sign log quickly. All done and replaced and back to the car to spray our friends that were trying to hitch a ride and eat us more. TFTC

03-Feb-20
Saw this had been replaced over the weekend and it wasn’t just a case of blindness for us! Roped up the doggies and covered ourselves in disgusting spray so we didn’t become dinner for a range of insects. Mr had his pole at the ready and made quick work before someone saw us in the bushes and queries the strange rustling that’s happening.

02-Feb-20
This cache is now back in action in the exact location, just 50 centimetres higher. Someone has kindly left a TOTT nearby if your climbing skills aren’t the best

01-Feb-20
This cache has definitely gone missing and so have the branches it was on or needed to climb. Trying to determine whether it possible to replace in the same spot

I was about to climb tje wrong tree, based on a photo...then spied the cache nearby....usually I manage to drop a lid or similar, but 2day I dropped me, as a dead branch gave way....so, an unpleasant Phlog to post But T4TC anyway!

Plenty of mozzies around but not enough to scare me of , cool cache idea TFTC

03-Oct-19
A mandatory drive to the darkside for an appointment and escaped around high noon. Heaps of sun left in the day to grab a few caches and this area has been on my radar...

Ducked into the bush so as not to frighten the small children up to no good on the path. I did not have a tool but grabbed a long implement and flicked off the cache. So, who’s the fool? Logged the cache and pondered my next move. Well, call me a fool but having skipped my hot coffee ️ today seems I’m in a pickle. Scratched around for a longer tool and then played a game called U got it down now put it back Couple of tries and had the ball in the basket

Emerged from the scrub and startled a lady with two labradors. The dogs were fine but the mistress was surprised and made a comment to that effect. Seems the locals are not used to interlopers leaping out the bush On my way home.

I had a couple of spare hours and what better way to spend them than finding a few smileys. I do love a tree climb and normally do not climb by myself but thought I would check it out. At gz I saw the climb would be a safe one. Once home I used my tool to reward my finds for todayThanks for the fun

Nice hide TFTC lots of fun. Kids had fun Climbing the tree and every tree nearby.

A lot of workman doing their thing nearby. Parked in the nearby street and made my way to GZ with my muggle friend. It was a quick find and a quick retrieval with the tool left by another cacher... very convenient, thanks heaps!

In the cycling world the N+1 rule refers to the number of bikes that a person should own. “While the minimum number of bikes one should own is 3, the correct number is N+1, where N is the number of bikes currently owned.”

So given my N value has just bumped up a notch today was the time to do a test run.

After failure on a previous visit i thought I'd be in for the long haul here. Dragged the bike in and set up the Mozzie cache guard fogging device and then looked up to see if i could spy the cache.

Well blow me down I must have had so many mozzies in my eyes last week i couldn't see the obvious. Then mind you given i had climbed higher than required and was looking upwards there was no way I was going to see it.

Now a feel the real FOOL Surprised

Used a tool of the trade left by a previous cacher - definately needed the bushmans today. TFTC woodyrothwell Smile

10-May-19
Today we had the small master with us so I took him for a wander along the path while Mr muff1 went for the cache. Yes, another cache where the mozzie's were bad. Not being from the area we would love to know if they are a year round thing or seasonal. If year round we would never cache at night, early morning or early evening and this would cut our caching time by at least 50%. SL TFTC

07-May-19
Came, climbed saw nothing and left with another 1 L less of blood. Again no Bushmans so will not be back until the mozzie cache guards are absent.

PS - Once more I have the honour of being the first to DNF on a cache.

Tftc. If you’re not into climbing, I left a very handy stick (perfect length) against the tree (water side).

20-Apr-19
Visiting my Dad over the holidays meant I was also able to pick up a few caches nearby. And when I say a few- I mean just one.. this one!

I arrived at GZ very easily and retrieved the cache easily enough. The real mission was trying to rush 2kms back to home without getting hit by the rain. Well... 4 minutes into my journey back home it started POURING down! At least I found the cache I guess!

TFTC! It was a good one!!!
