Found with chamadThanks for creating, placing and maintaining for our enjoyment Party time GCARTY0 - 05 October 2025 Sunshine Coast
Today was just a quick morning of caching with Bluewattle before she heads back home to Cairns. We headed over to deception Bay way and looked around for a few fun caches to do. There was one in particular that I had been too and not had any luck with. I thought that an extra set of eyes may be what is needed here so a plan was set. This was my next cache find armed with mozzie spray we went in. I am happy to say that I saw this was replaced a while ago and has been found a few times since. My last visit here saw me with a dnf, today I can rectify that lol. Yep, found it and super happy with the find, we signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for the hide and maintenance. It would be nice if you could check out, **GCARTY0,** see what is planned for October 2025 and be supporting geocaching in Australia. **ITS A PARTY EVENT!**
Looked until I got bored and ran into a snake, definitely not digging where there are snakes
I had a few chosen caches to find in the Moreton Shire today, so drove up here with my friend sausage3. It was a pleasant and dry walk to gz, enjoying listening to the birds. After looking around a few trees, I then dug a bit deeper around one and there was the cache, hidden under grass. Its the first time that Ive seen this type, I love it so a fp. Im surprised that it hadnt been found in such a long time. Unfortunately ants had made a home in the outer, so we cleaned it out. The logbook was slightly damp, so I dried it out a bit, signed and replaced as found. Tftc
Today I wasnt distracted by the thought of a field full of commandos thats my reasoning as to why I found the cache within minutes of arriving The COs recent intervention may have also helpedThanks woodyrothwell I didnt think we used words like slow anymore
After a couple of DNFs I came to check on this hide today. Cache is still in place and the log nice and dry. I have uncovered it a bit to make it easier to find. It is still at the base of a tree.
My first DNF, but not last of the day…
I enjoyed the walk in the sun to GZ… and I had a really good idea of what I was looking for but despite my intensive landscaping I failed to unearth a container, familiar or otherwise…
I may have been distracted though, it sounded like the 171st Special Ops Aviation Squadron was about to land…??
Everyone seems to bang on about the roos or their scat… all I found, exactly where Geepers wanted me, was half a kangaroo carcass… ??
And I had my Phlog all ready to go too… oh well…

Out this way so dropped in on my way to mum’s.
Nice and dry which was lucky since I had my white shoes on.
No mozzies which was lucky since I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and no aeroguard.
So basically I was totally unprepared.
I did have a pen! So that’s a positive.
Headed bush with a trusty stick waving in front of me to spare a face full of spider’s web. Eyes down making sure there were no legless lizards around. Stopped to look up and there were a heap of roos watching on. Grabbed the phone to take a photo for the log but wouldn’t you know it, they bounded away.
So in the absence of kangaroo photos I decided on random scat pieces around the place.
Oh and yes I found the cache. (Thanks for the hint as I was looking up).

I think this one might have been washed away with the recent rains. Used photos to find the location, however nothing to be found.
Heading home from my Aunt's house nearby I made hubby do a quick stop in to grab this cache in an attempt to start clearing the area near her place.
Wondering the area solo felt a little creepy just on dusk, but with my geostick in hand to clear any cobwebs I made my way through to the GZ. Stared down a couple of wild kangaroos who seemed rather interested in why I was in their play area, but they largely left me to my search.
Initially I chose the wrong location as the coordinates were jumping a little, but eventually reset my geobrain and soon had the cache in hand. Loved the container! Log signed and replaced. All in excellent condition. TFTC.

woodyrothwell I found your cache Just Phlog It Littlest Pet Shop of Horrors on 25/10/2022, 11:25 am. This is my find 4397 and find # 1 today. Found it after a brief search. Well camouflaged. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
This one took a while to find, even after checking the hint. GPS not settling under the trees didn’t help either. But persistence paid off and the log was signed - nice hide. TFTC
#5, solo run over to D-Bay and surrounds for a day on the geo-scooter. Took a little while but it was located in the end. I used PF photos to narrow down my search. TFTC, TFTH &TFTSF
This one had me going around in circles for some time
Eventually I retried an area I’d searched previously and there it was
Glad to record this as a found

I think I searched every tree in a 20m radius before checking some photos to narrow down the search area and then I quickly unearthed it. Thanks for the cache
This is my third trip with the kids before and after the floods and still haven't found it. I don't know if I'm looking hard enough or it's not there
After finding another Phlog cache further up the pathway I made my way to this one. I wasn't feeling terribly confident but gave it a red hot go. My gps couldn't really settle but I checked a lot of possibilities. For some reason I checked more thoroughly in one particular spot and it paid off.
Thanks woodyrothwell for the cache. Happy to find this one.
Thanks woodyrothwell for the cache. Happy to find this one.
Made our way towards GZ trying to find a dry way-through and once there extended our search to include a 20 metre radius however we were unable to come up with the goods. All was not lost however as we were delighted by the appearance of a mob of kangaroos, a couple of which were very large indeed.
We picked our way carefully trying to avoid the muddy patches on our way to GZ, walking through more than our share of spiders and webs along the way. Once there, we searched the base of every tree within about a 15m radius but unfortunately didn’t come up with a small size anything let alone a cache.
Walked through the mud to check on this one today. Cache is in the same position with plenty of room in the log.
Sorry to say but this one has gone. I must have spent 30 minutes here searching amongst the grass and trees. I searched logs, found what I was looking for, and was then positive it was not here. I was also annoyed as it was a good cache and I would have enjoyed signing this one. Got to hang with a couple of kangaroos and joeys in the bush just 4 metres away, awesome.
Had been waiting for lockdown to end to come find this one. Lots of tree bases to search but we eventually found the right one. Tftc!
Some big roos around this morning. Back in the game after a 4 year break and time to find some local caches. I have ridden and run this path countless times but never ventured into the swampy bush. TFTC
It was a tad damp in here and I abandoned the bike some distance form GZ. Very lucky with a reasonably quick find in the jungle out here.
Another random photo attached.

On our electric bike today. A good easy ride thru here. Saw a too loved the cache! Thank you
It was only after logging the last geocache which has a very similar name, that I realised I really did not understand what”phlog” meant!
A quick read and check ( apologies Woodyrothwell”, so, after signing the log I rectified that problem with two photos for this one. Not sure they meet all your criteria but something to offer nonetheless!. We enjoyed our walk in and the whole area around us. Small planes and flying lessons were happening overhead.
Thanks

We are visiting this lovely for a few days and enjoying finding some local caches. This is one we found today. Parked in a good place and headed in to GZ where the cache was found as per the hint. We found one of these containers just a few days ago so our eyes had been well trained. All good with the cache. Thanks Woodyrothwell!
As I was walking in, I passed a mob of about a dozen 'roos. So nice to see still here close to suburbia, but they are probably locked here in this area now due to housing developments.
The GPS jumped around a fair bit at GZ, so I had a short search before I was able to determine the right tree. TNLNSL TFTC

Hey there’s an airport just next door. Nice little jaunt into the bush & attacked by mossies in July
We unfortunately found this a little easily as its white bottom was waving at us. Cache has been replaced in a more fitting way. Cache is in perfect condition. TCTH
Holy crackers those mozzies are thirsty! I'd say it was a lovely stroll through the bush...but no. While preoccupied with shooing and swatting the mosquito hordes I walked through a couple of spider webs *insert girly squeal here* which immediately resulted in me flailing my arms around and spinning in place trying to see if I'd picked up any 8 legged hitchhikers. Have I mentioned I don't like spiders? ugh. Anyhoo...made my way to GZ and straight up noticed something looking a tad out of place. It helped that I had seen one of these before. As I was signing the log, a couple of (bird watchers?) muggles wandered past. I stood there pretending to write something while waiting for them to go. They kept turning arou d and watching me! I wanted to tell out...What? You never seen a strange woman in tracksuit pants lurking in the woods before?? Don't judge me! But of course I didn't. I just stood there trying to look inconspicuous and failing miserably. ha! Totally worth it though. Another smiley face to add to the collection. TNLN SL TFTC
Out today to pickup a few caches with my geobuddy grannysmith1947 and geodog Miss Millie. We had fun around Scarborough and Redcliffe.
Picking up 3 traditional, 2 Multi, 1 Earthcache and 4 Mystery. We have some fun doing that.
The cache is all good after the rain.
Sorry for the generic post.

I wandered around aimlessly for 20 minutes. I checked the logs and saw that there a log from today on it so it MUST be here somewhere.
So I persevered and, finally, I spotted the cache. It blends into the ash so well.

Lots of possible locations at a GZ that bounces about....fits in perfectly yet is also out of place. No wading but hungry mozziesT4TC!
A mandatory drive to the darkside for an appointment and escaped around high noon. Seems I’m in excellent shape despite my best efforts Heaps of sun left in the day to grab a few caches and this area has been on my radar...
Took a shortcut and got soot on my sneakers, so not looking so pink. As a previous log suggests GZ is in the open but I searched a scant couple of metres away and there was the cache waiting for me to get down ‘n dirty It blends in well with the blackened landscape here.
TFTC woodyrothwell Bill to clean my shoes is in the post.

GPS had me looking in the open around no tree bases at all, so I extended my search just a little. No long grass definitely helps. Awesome container. TFTC
Came for a check on this one and wasn’t hopeful after seeing a grass fire had been through the area and cleared things out. Amazingly the cache is still there in line with the hint and in perfect condition. The old tether was removed
A day-long run around Pine Rivers shire today - this was my next stop. No real worries finding where this one had been, so I am choosing to phlog this one for real.
Thanks woodyrothwell for entertaining me at this location.

No luck here today . I did find a empty drink container. Enjoyed the bike ride to here
Found the remains of the log zip tied to a tree disappointing it wasn’t there because it looked like such a cute container based on past logs. A phlog will have to do this time. Hopefully the container and log can be replaced.
Had a good look 15 metres around GZ and still came up empty handed. Must be well hidden. Too many mozzies to continue
Was a hard slog into this one... I am sure we went the hard way... but the easy way was just too boggy and wet for my liking. My muggle friend and I searched for way too long for this one and the GPS was so confused the search area was massive. Eventually we gave up.
We looked high and low for this cache, we scratched here there and everywhere and then the call from hubby "got it" and I jumped for joy as I felt we were never going to find it.
What I say to others is the co-ords according to our Garmin Montana 650t are really quite good, you may need to do some scratching among the longish grass to find the cache but this wee little fellow is certainly there. SL TFTC

Had read previous logs about the mozzies being a pain in the back side here so on with the jeans, a fleece with long sleeves and a quick spray of repellent on any exposed skin. Arrived at my GZ and noticed some thing had been busy around the trees. Searched for a while with no luck so had to drag geowife out of "Tuna" for a extra pair of eyes. Well bugger me, she found it second place she looked and of course I had already looked there!! Nice container haven't seen one like this before and would you believe it not a mozzie in sight. TFTC woodyrothwell
In the cycling world the N+1 rule refers to the number of bikes that a person should own. “While the minimum number of bikes one should own is 3, the correct number is N+1, where N is the number of bikes currently owned.”
So given my N value has just bumped up a notch today was the time to do a test run.
Horrible failure and significant blood loss last week meant a DNF possibly a FTF . Freshly coated with DEET from fogging the forest just up the road I decided that treatment of every article mentioned in the hint within 10 m of GZ would help deter these horrible mozzie cache guards.
So it was even with the mozzies held back I found this was going to be a difficult. That's strange a lot more trampling around here since last week but no DNF logs. Seems some people just cannot face the horror of failure to find (the other FTF).
So lets see check 1 , check 2 check 3 check 4, check 5 , check 6 check 7. Apply more DEET. Oh well at least the rain has stopped. One less horror. Now let the GPS settle. OK constant reading (finally). Read previous logs, oh a hint, now I wonder.
That is down right HORRIBLE.
All I can say the cordinates are spot on.
64 km to clean up 2 DNF's makes ruzzelz a happy person

Workmen around and 1000’s of mozzie cache guards as well. Checked every tree within 10 m of a jumpy Gz. No Bushmans on so about 1 L of blood lighter I gave up. Not looking forward to returning here any time during mozzie season.
Plan for this morning was to find the series of caches in this suburb which was completely new to me.

Our GPS sulks whenever it's near trees so we had a bit of a search before locating the right one. Saw a big roo bounding through the scrub on our way in! Made my day!!
I checked on this one today with my young nephew who surprised me by making a quick find. I told him to put any old trash in his log so he did. Log is dry with plenty of space
Firstly, DO NOT come in here without Bushmans or other repellent all over!!
This was in the top three biggest attacks of mozzies I’ve ever taken, and the number 2 time was about a km away from here a few years ago, so I can’t say I didn’t know or wasn’t warned.
Secondly, the hint is correct and I reckon the CO has provided all the info necessary to find this cache. Coords are correct!
Dig deeper, my friends!
This is my annual trip to Rothwell on the first Saturday in March and I look forward to finding more a little later today... AFTER I’ve applied the Bushmans!

Add our names to the DNF brigade. We stomped around the base of many trees but couldn't find anything. Have just looked at the photos in the logs and one shows something hanging higher up a tree and not at the base, so now am wondering if we focused our efforts too far south?
I checked on this one today after a couple more DNFs. The grass has surely grown but the cache is still in place and ready to be found
How accurate are these coords? We spent over 30 minutes searching the base of trees within a large radius. Knowing the type of container may have helped. We found your other two but not this one. However thanks for the experience!
