A trip to Brisbane for work gave me a bit of time for caching as well. Always great to visit Brisbane and to explore the area using caching as a guide. Found this cache on 26 October 2024 at3:17PM Thank you fng_affl for placing and maintaining this cache for everyone to find. Tftc
A beautiful day in south east Queensland and a drive to Redcliffe was in order. We were able to park pretty close and moved to the library forecourt to admire the sculpture and to take note of the answers. With copious notes taken, we took a couple of photos and headed off. Thanks very much for creating this Earthcache for the community fng_affl. Will send answers via the message system. Cheers
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 13540.A nifty little EC, I came after dark and hard no issues gathering the required details and sending off our answers via the message centre. Thanks fng_affl for the cache.
I'm in Brisbane for a couple of weeks housesitting for my sister and spending time with Mum who's about to turn 93 ... and of course, getting out each day to find some caches on Brisbane's north side. This afternoon's geo-excursion took me to Woody Point to view the rising of a blue moon over Moreton Bay with a heap of fellow cachers, but beforehand, there was some caches to be found, including this earthcache.I saw something similar near Roma Street Parklands the other day but it was just a sculpture, not a working installation like this seemingly is. I say seemingly because water wasn't running while I was there, which is a pity. So, instead of enjoying the water flowing, I just studied things, took a few photos (but can't attach as they are spoilers) and submitted my observations/learnings to the CO.Thanks for bringing me to this interesting water and geological feature fng_affl.
# 9377 Found with iPlod65 while wandering about on a AL.Thanks fng_affl for the Earthcache
Answers sent to CO and hoping to learn more about the structure. I could easily see what the artist imagined and wonder what it would look like in the wet season. Beautiful work TFTC
Thanks for this interesting and beautiful earth cache. Fantastic day for walking around. Please refer to tassie expat answers.
Always meaning to stop by but never actually did until today when I was literally walking right past!Very interesting idea to turn a drain into an artwork.Answers submitted and hopefully close to correct.TFTEC.

Having just taken a short break for lunch, I popped across to this cache to record a visit. Earth caches are not my jam normally, way to much thinking for a weekend required, however this one was quiet straight forward and luckily I didn’t have to stretch the grey matter that much.
Managed to park right out front, collect the answers and bank the info to log when I got home.
Many thanks to the CO for making this cache available.

We were here today on our QLD coast leg of our ‘Around Australia’ trip.
We set off back at the start of 2021 expecting to go around Australia in 12 months - here we are still going in 2023 with about 1/3 of the island left to lap.
My (Geo Mum) personal Favourite experience: Too many to choose, Finding Gold and Opal high up there, working on a CQ cattle station was awesome too.
Favourite location: Gibb River Road/ Kimberley closely followed by Nhulunbuy/ Arnhem Land.
Best paid activity: Horizontal falls
Best free activity: Kings Canyon Rim Walk, Matt Wright putting us up for free in one of his helicopters was pretty awesome. (Let’s not talk about his current situation )
Most interesting location. Arnhem Land
What you have learnt: I wish I had something insightful to put in here, if I though really hard about it perhaps I do but I gues the most practical things I learnt are: Mango sap burns, midges are xxxx’s and dog beds are a versatile alternative to real furniture.
Miss the most: Family & Friends, closely followed by my garden and my chooks.
Look forward to the most: The Whitsundays
Regrets? Worrying so much and not heading off years ago!
TFTC
*Sorry for the copy and paste log but I’m notorious for getting behind with logs and fluffing them up

Mr and Mrs CNQ ventured over to look at some Redcliffe earth caches, including this one. Muddled through some answers, we were there in the pre-coffee stage of the morning... Neat use of a sculpture for an earthcache, thanks fng_affl.
Thanks for taking me to this amazing art work and explaining it. I tried as best as i could to answer the questions and hope they are ok. It would be interesting to see when it is raining.
We spent a few days at Redcliff.
I walked through the streets and discovered this EC.
I looked at this rare geological feature and completed the tasks.
Thanks for creating and showing this EC

We headed out to Redcliffe to attempt a night cache after attending Oz _ Bean _ Counter’s Twos event at Aspley. we decided to grab this earth cache, after a DNF close by. So, we set out to complete this earth cache to turn it into a yellow smiley face.
Before leaving the new geocar (Track my adventures here D78QWZ) we read the description, the questions and pervious finder logs. We set off to walk over towards the posted GZ for the search for the answers to commence, in the pouring rain. Princess1005 was directing us to where we needed to go.
After walking around GZ we grabbed all the information required. We made the dash for the car.
While JLK and MummaBear66 headed back to the geocar to start writing this log.
Thank you for the Earth cache placement and maintenance FNG_AFFL

I usually struggle with earthcaches and this one was no exception. Gave it my best guess but not overly confident with the 3rd answer.
This morning I was heading to Redcliffe for a work visit. With traffic much better than expected I was running well ahead of schedule so did a quick search of nearby caches. This cache didn't require too much of a detour, nor scrabbling around in my work clothes, so it fit the bill nicely. It was quite a warm sunny morning so the nearby structure offered some nice shade while I made my observations for the questions. TFTC
Visited this interesting sculpture a little while ago and finally getting around to logging. Thanks to the CO for bringing me to this location.
Came here today whilst visiting my S-I-L to get an earth cache souvenir!!
Loved the artwork and it’s meaning. Thanks fng_affl for the cache.

This afternoon, I decided to visit Redcliffe area and whilst in the vicinity, find a few geocaches. It was a nice afternoon-evening that had me visit the cemetery and drive/walk the area whilst completing the *Coffee, Beer or Wineigo* Wherigo cache.
It was after hours by the time I arrived at this location, only to see a few cleaners enter the nearby building. I soon worked out the required structure, and read up on the adjoining plaque as well as the EarthCache's description. A cool sculpture, and a nice set of questions that allowed further study and consideration of the geology. Once I had gathered the answers, I sent to the CO for verification. Thanks fng_affl for the EarthCache placement and organisation.

Dayboro QLD Mega - Day Eight:
The eighth day of the mega road trip!
Today I was solo, taking buhfuhguh to the airport bright and early without time for any caching as he needed to check in and catch his flight back to Melbourne! I had the rest of the day to myself, unsure what to do caching wise as it was another wet and horrible day.
The SHCS series was the main goal, a few Wherigo's and interesting caches thrown into the mix to fill in the rest of the day. Trudging around in ankle - calf deep water most of the day was good fun! Oh and fighting off mosquitoes!
Huge thanks to the CO's!

This Cache:
I came at a good time when it was raining, so saw this artwork in full motion!
Stood around for a while, looking at the sculpture and examining the granite to answer the questions. Have sent this all to the CO.
Many thanks for bringing me here! An interesting sculpture

A pretty straightforward EarthCache and being Sunday and raining parking was a cinch. I think I learnt a bit more post the visit with the artwork which was pretty cool. At GZ I took my observations and have sent answers off. TFTC!
Grabbed a few minutes between showers to admire this installation. Although l had no idea what the artist was trying to tell me, it was indeed beautiful to look at. Thank you so much for creating this cache

Cache 7306 on 2 Apr 2021.
Finally, a real geocaching mission with an airplane flight, nights away, so many caches on the list and a road trip home! Flew up from CBR on 1 April with TikvaNZ to join Fox in Jox for a 5 day full-on mission centred around attending the Dayboro Mega event. Plan is to cache in around BNE, targeting old caches, virtuals, LBHs, Wherigos, DT combinations and anything else that takes our fancy and then start heading home Monday via as many counties as we can squeeze in. We have so many caches on the list we are unlikely to get them all, but we will try our best! Don’t care if it rains or snows - QLD here we come!
This cache: love a good earth cache and there were a few on this part of the coast. The answer to one of the questions was a bit tricky to work out, but we enjoyed the art work!
Thanks fng_affl for the cache and the fun!

After a local event and meeting a few new faces, I still had a little time before I was required at home so a quick duck off to grab this one. Was not sure if I had the right objects at first, but after looking around a bit I was certain I had the right objects in sight.
Making some notes and spending a little time at GZ, I was fascinated by the samples sitting there. I answered the questions required and then made my way home.
Thank you for bringing me here I would never have stopped here otherwise

Towards the end of a long geocaching day we stopped by this easy-to-access earthcache and enjoyed the shade while we collected answers. I love what they did with the building here; it's unusual and artistic. We had a muggle companion while we discussed the cache but luckily earthcaches are the kind where it doesn't matter if a muggle is present or not - he was busy packing food into his bag, anyway. Enjoyed the sculpture and reading about the work.

I'm on an earth cache hunt! While in the general area I thought I'd swing by and grab this one. It helps for both the AUGUST spelling challenge, as well as the snowflake challenge.
It's a pretty quiet area at 8 am on a Saturday morning I took a few photos to aide the memory. Nice and easy for the most part, but I am a little uncertain about the last question. Answers have been sent through to the CO.
Off from here to another earth cache at Deception Bay. I'll be a geology expert in no time.

My partner and I decided to head out to Redcliffe tonight to grab some Fish and Chips for dinner and to play a little Pokémon Go. It was so bloody cold and windy so we decided to leave earlier then planned, but I remembered I had this Earthcache sitting here for well, forever! I planned on leaving it for either August or September for the month challenge, but I decided to have a look tonight and log it.

This was a busy place today. I thing we saw another cacher leaving the car park when we arrived. As so often, we struggled a little bit with the id of that rock type. Maybe we should go caching with with a geologist more often.

Enjoying a beautiful day on my scooter along the beach foreshore. Plan was to research and log the two earthcaches in Redcliffe that have been sitting on our map. Earlier this morning I found myself along Woody Point. Love this part of Brisbane. Forgot the markets were on today! Lucky I’m not hunting for physical hides. Thanks for an excuse for sunshine and fresh air.

After lunch nearby, we walked to this cache. An interesting sculpture, the subject suited the medium. Email with answers sent. TFTC.

Sence of deja vu with this art work. I recall something very similar at Roma Street. Same rock type too.
Nice place at night, and interesting display, from the looks of the design it will be even better during a sizable rain storm.
Spot of caching on my way home and on my way to reaching 100 finds before the day ends find 4/4 for today and #100 total!!
TFTC fng_affl!

I skipped past the Cultural Centre from the beach,
and ended up outside the library
Where I discovered this piece of artwork
It's always interesting to read the artist's interpretation of what it all means.
"Some people think in mysterious ways !!", me thinks
I'm more of the scientific type meself
To go along with the esoteric aspects of the site,
I also got to enjoy the much more down to earth origins of the materials,
and examine them up close [^]

... Reply from the CO received back quicker than a Japanese seismograph alerts the local scientists [:o]

Thank you for this Earthcache. Visited during a nice walk around the area. It’s been many years since I’ve been here. Time for coffee.....
Cheers

Out in Redcliffe on a beautiful Saturday morning picking up a few smilies . We parked nearby and wandered over to the GZ and after some meaningful discussions we had what we think are some acceptable answers to the questions asked. TLNL and emailed the CO TFTEC .
Visited just before the school children deceeded on GZ. Had a nosy around the gallery too. Reflective place.
Took geo grandson to this one on way to park. He was fascinated but asked ‘where is the water’?
TFTC. Would probably not have stopped here if there wasn’t a cache. Have passed it a few times but never been to the library.
