*The generic bit for this trip*We are on our way north for warmer weather. From Victoria to Cooktown, weaving inland and to the coast, caching as we go. No real plans, just taking each day as it comes and enjoying the adventure in our converted ambulance. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining caches for our enjoyment.
On the trip to Townsville from Emerald, we stopped in.Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache EatSleepCacheOnline.
12768 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1055. We are on our way to Charters Towers for a couple of days, Of course you start at the wrong end. In good condition SL Tnx EatSleepcacheOnline
Outnabout for some solo caching while camping in town overnight. We’re taking the roundabout route to QOGM 2023 at Longreach. It’s always a great day for caching.
TFTC EatSleepCacheOnline
For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
An interesting hide spot. Nice.
An interesting hide spot. Nice.
I picked up this one on the way out of town after inspecting a nearby tree for a friend. Upon approaching I didn’t see too many spots that one could hide a cache but did notice a couple of things out of the ordinary. My first hunch was on the money but it is a busier highway than expected and had to wait twiddling thumbs for a few moments to see a couple of vehicles go by so that took a little longer to expose than I first thought. I signed off on it and replaced it. I turned the “blockwork” upside down as it has a crack from the front to the back and if someone grabbed it from the top it could have spread further. In hindsight I probably should have swapped it out with the other side’s block. I would have entered this earlier but was too busy taking phone calls from previous Townsville Cachers and a brother who notified me that the cheque is in the mail - box. So I headed home a little faster than what I was doing. Dad was also lining up antivirals via a teleconference, so hopefully that works out too.
After dad telling him “you shouldn’t need to do that” the little man found it. TFTC
In the area with Selva Girls today picking up some caches around town and this was one of them. Once at GZ the cache was soon in hand and once the log was signed all was returned as found.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.

Heading southward with CybergranV, and Pilot the super sleuth hound, we had picked a few caches to find along the way. This was found quickly, and we continued our journey.
Thank you EatSleepCacheOnline.

Day 3 of our Townsville Mega event weekend. Out early with hevwalker for a walk along the river doing an adlab and a couple of caches before going to GZ to the official opening and a quick run through the Maze. Then we headed of to Charters Towers to do touristy stuff and find a few caches. OOhh..a bit sneaky! nice! TFTC
27,576. Found with minniek during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.
Day 7 of our Townsville Trek, and we cached our way around Charters Towers again during the morning, before doing the short journey to Townsville for the main event (literally !). A couple of neat Adventure Labs were completed, as well as their bonus caches (one a real doozy) plus some other must do caches along the way. This one was a nice easy drive by cache. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then continued along to the next cache on our list.
Thanks EatSleepCacheOnline !!

Day 7 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
The long awaited day we drive into Townsville! We did a bit of caching around Charters Towers before leaving. Definitely some great caching there and some good Adventure Labs worth doing. A simple drive to Townsville: we are all happy to finally be here. The kids were very glad to have a quick dip in the pool at the Motel before some rest before all things Mega kicking off tomorrow.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Found after a short time, the air already feels thicker and slightly less fresh after a week in the outback. Or maybe thats my proximity to the highway trucks while at this cache, lol. Good hide, Tftc
We (Team Tour de Ville - TMZ59, Patrol14, Peppa and I ) headed north to Townsville for the MEGA Event and explore the surrounding areas. Today it was the day to visit Charter's Towers and Ravenswood and pick up a few caches along the way. A lot of history in these towns. Cache found on the way into town, this was a very clever hide. Log signed before replacing as found. TFTC

Fifth day of our trip to Townsville for the MEGA and we (Peppa, TMZ59, Imbunda and I - TDV-TIPP) are on our way to Charters Towers for a drive.
Stopped to grab this cache and found it in its hide. What a clever one. SL then returned as found. A fav point from me.

Another day in Townsville… another trip in the Habanero Sport… today though I’m at the wheel… watch out Townsville!!!
With TMZ59 as co-pilot and Patrol14 and Imbunda in the back, we’re off to Ravenswood and Charters Towers for a bit of hysterical, sorry historical, learning…
Back in Brisbane, I created a list… everyone does… it wasn’t as long as others, but it would certainly keep us busy… if only we could stick to it…
At the start of the trip I didn’t know it was important to find caches with place names in them… now I know, and so here we are…
A clever piece of camo…
Tftc… log signed as Tour de Ville- TIPP ??????

Very tricky hide. In Charters for a couple of hours to grab some caches and some history. Log signed as Team de Ville (patrol14, Imbunda, Peppa and me) TFTC.
I had decided that today would be a trip to Charters Towers to collect a few types for the day, dragged my mum out and put the invite out to chamad as well which he accepted. With no real plans we found ourselves collecting everything on our way leaving a swathe of smiles behind us.
A unique spot!

I was invited on an early morning drive with Sheridan (from Jacs Team) and Vic (from Waz and Vic) for some caches in the Charters Towers area. We had no set plans, just a few on a wish list and a few we both had solved. It was again another fun day with these two ladies. I like caching with these two, the simplicity in our caching day, the stories, the banter and the laughs were just all day; nothing is a problem, thank you.
We collected some nice caches and a very different adventure lab on the way in from Townsville, we even left a fun little multi for our return home. The day saw us collecting a whereigo, some trads, a couple of old caches, some nice D/T caches. There was a virtual and a couple of puzzles, some more adventure labs, a bite to eat and a stop off to collect some Shinny little disc thingies. An absolute great day. All logs were signed with the three names and all caches replaced as found.
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides.
Sneaky little hide, nice.

TFTC,
Day 22 of our 2022 Northern escape tour via Normanton and Cairns to attend the Townsville MEGA. We used this pre event day to travel out to Charters Towers to complete our LGA areas visited planned for this trip. Still some to do post event heading south along the coast.
Time for us to leave our day in the park behind us. Who should turn up, pprass, chatted for a bit and since we didn't get this on our way in, we are getting it on our way out. Visited trackables.

Day 22 of adventure to Townsville Mega. A trip to Charters Tower today picking up a few caches in the area. Quick find. Stamped log and replaced. To CO. This one was nicely tucked away.
Found at 2:15 PM GAFF1.
Thanks CT - but we were already in the town and went through to Macrossan Park to set up camp and then headed back into town to do a few caches. A tricky little hide that at first we thought we were going to wreck something!
Thanks for the history of the name which p-pprass was asking incessantly hours before in the car to the annoyance of c-pprass
Thanks EatSleepCacheOnline.

Such a sneaky little hide
Before the end of the year I wanted to get some more caches done to boost my stats a little more and to finally get out there and grab some boxes after having had a bit of a break the last two months. In fact, I would like to clear most of the caches I have not found so far in Charters Towers today. Thank you very much EatSleepCacheOnline for placing this cache. All caches around Charters Towers have a nice little rural spin to them and I really enjoyed driving around and seeing a lot of nice things today. Thanks for the cache and showing this area.
