We had an overnight stop in Wangaratta to break the trip from Canberra to Melbourne and this morning we are looking at a few caches we havent done in the past. It took two trips to fins this cache. On the first attempt the traffic school was in full swing so we ended up deciding to return later on. Take 2 - all quiet and the gates are locked. This time the cache was quickly located. Thanks to Robmc for the cache.
Quick find whilst cycling thru this beautiful areaClosest cache to my accommodation TFTC
Too busy with young ones schooling so unfortunately following cache instructions I could not persist.
Checked on a maintenance run on the deadly treadly.
Moved back to where it should be.
All good, ready to be found.

Came back to this one in the daylight and finally found it! First cache on my last stretch of the OMCT series.
Nice easy find with the GeoKids tonight on a little night caching adventure to end the school holidays! TFTC
Today was an absolutely amazing day for geocaching! I woke up early, packed my bag with all the necessary gear, including my GPS and hiking boots, and hit the road. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I was ready to take on the world of geocaching.
The first cache I set out to find was in a nearby park, nestled in a dense thicket of trees. As I approached the coordinates, I noticed a fellow geocacher making his way towards the same spot. We exchanged greetings and introduced ourselves, and it turned out we were both after the same monster of a cache.
We decided to work together and started our search, combing through the underbrush, climbing trees, and scouring hidden nooks and crannies. After what seemed like hours of intense searching, we finally found the cache. The feeling of pure euphoria and triumph that washed over us was indescribable. We let out a loud scream of "*FTF*!" (Even though it wasn’t), high-fived each other, and took a celebratory picture.
That was just the beginning of our geocaching adventures. We went on to find several more caches, each one more challenging and exciting than the last. We even stumbled upon a cache hidden under a waterfall, which was both thrilling and refreshing.
As the day wore on, we started to notice a strange phenomenon happening around us. Every time we found a cache, we felt a surge of energy and power that we couldn't quite explain. We joked about having tapped into "The Force," and laughed as we imagined ourselves as Jedi knights of the geocaching universe.
At one point, we found ourselves lost in a thicket of dense foliage, struggling to find the next cache. As we trudged through the underbrush, we suddenly heard a strange noise. It sounded like a person whistling a tune, but the source of the sound was nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly, a man appeared out of nowhere, seemingly materializing from the trees themselves. He was tall and lean, with skin as dark as coffee and an easy smile on his face.
"Hey guys," he said, "looks like you're lost. Need some help?"
We were hesitant at first, having been taught not to accept help from strangers. But there was something about this man that put us at ease. Maybe it was his friendly demeanor, or maybe it was the fact that we were all geocachers, united by the same passion.
Either way, we accepted his offer and followed him deeper into the woods. He led us to a hidden waterfall that we never would have found on our own, and we were able to find the cache that was nestled behind it.
As we signed the logbook and recorded our names, we turned to thank the stranger who had helped us. But he was gone, vanished into thin air like a mysterious apparition.
As we made our way back to civilization, we couldn't help but marvel at the strange and wondrous events of the day. We had found caches in places we never would have imagined, felt the power of "The Force", and even encountered a friendly stranger who seemed to have some kind of magical powers.
In the end, it was a day filled with adventure, fun, excitement, and unexpected surprises. We were all exhausted but exhilarated, our hearts and minds filled with the thrill of the hunt and the joy of discovery.
This was a day we would never forget, and one that we knew would inspire us to keep exploring the world of geocaching and all its many wonders. We couldn't wait to see what other amazing treasures were waiting for us out there, just waiting to be found.
So if you're ever looking for a great time and an adventure like no other, join us in the world of geocaching. Who knows what incredible treasures you might discover, what random strangers you might meet, or what hidden powers you might uncover? The possibilities are endless, and the rewards are truly priceless.

We planned to get down to Rutherglen to try and collect all the caches in the area before the mega so we could relax a little more as Mega’s always seem to be a little hectic. With the Canberra day long weekend on the horizon a plan was hatched, and accommodation was found. Our attack group ended up consisting of Rapidlywild, DARKSIDEDAN, Sui_001 and only half of the FurfacesLL team as the other member is broken, seems we are taking turns. We ended up collecting all the trails we had intended to do and many others in varying shapes and sizes and types.
The last day of our jaunt down this way and with the bikes on board we decided to knock this trail off as well. Always love a bike ride thrown in with a caching trail. Should be more of them.
We had a couple of DNF's today but all others were found in good condition and signed as AB+G's to save room in the logs.
Thanks for the hide Robmc and thanks for a fun weekend away the AB+G's crew.

Plans were put in place for a Rutherglen attack over the Canberra day long weekend with the FurfacesLL, DSD and Sui. We spent 4 days away from home and collected a number of caches of various varieties.
Today was out last day before making our way back to the ACT. We decided we wanted to get the bike trail in Wangaratta completed being we had the bikes on board. We started at the north and made our way south finding caches along the way. We had a couple that we couldn't find so we will need to revisit at some stage. Logs once again signed as AB+G/AB&G to save room on the logs.

Found and signed AB&G with Sui_001 and FurfacesLL as part of an amazing Rutherglen Invasion. Thanks for the cache and the Adventure.
Time for another weekend road trip! A few of us had spied the events in Eldorado and had hatched a plan to spend the weekend in search of the criminal outfit ILT.
After a late start I planned to gather a series of caches along the way before arriving in Eldorado in the evening.
Needing a Wherigo meant a local one in Wangaratta was on the cards. Knowing the CO, I parked the car and set off on foot to explore this trail and see where it took me.
Collecting this series of caches along the way I was careful to return to the track in the same spot if I needed to depart it.
The cache was soon found and I continued my journey.
I remember riding around on one like this as a kid, in Essendon. It was such a fun day!
Thanks Robmc for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Out for another CO guided tour / maintenance run this time on the One Mile Creek Trail where we started in the middle and headed north first and then to the south. What a magnificent place to ride right in the middle of town.
I think I need a course in here with the way I’ve been riding this eBike

Found in the early morning during the days after the Wangaratta mega. My leg was a tad bit sore so I drove to the four OMCT caches I did this morning before heading out to the Ned Kelly helmet. Took a few minutes of searching all around before I finally found it, definitely shouldn't have taken as long as it did! Awesome location to see, I love these type of facilities. TFTC Robmc!

After a fantastic weekend in Wangaratta for the mega event, it was time to head to Myrtleford for a few days. We got up early and decided we could tick off a few of these before leaving town. We didn’t have bikes with us, so we parked close and wandered along the trail. We be great to ride this the entire way one day.

No traffic whatsoever inside. Very little outside. I knew where the cache wouldn't be and put my hand on it soon after.
Down in Victoria for the long awaited (and necessarily postponed) Wangaratta MEGA, and a little holiday chasing the usual (oldies, counties and windmills). Just for something different we are adding to the hit list and the graves of the regionally buried dead premiers. Lol the things we will do for a cache! Spent most of today with albida, Smittengranny and GLISS! Always great when we can cache together. Thanks for the cache.
It was terrific to attend the Wangaratta Mega. The weather was fabulous. The caches were top quality. The area was very interesting an it was lovely to meet up with other cachers. This cache contributed to my mega experience. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache.
Wangaratta Mega trip Day 4. It has taken quite some time to get this trip going so it is a great feeling to be on the road for a great weekend away with great caching with friends and new friends. Today was the second day of the Mega itself. I spent most of the day with Gliss, Nibbletricecakes and Smitten Granny. We spent the day visiting as many of the caches around town as we could, doing multis and the puzzles that we had already solved amongst the large number of traditional caches. Another hot day that was very satisfying. The day ended with the farewell to the Mega event and at dusk the second CSI Night cache.
Thanks for the cache Robmc

Today was the final day of the Mega Event.
We decided on a few caches close to town as wanted to be able to attend the official closing ceremony & the farewell event.
Later in the day it was into town to stock up with provisions in preperation for leaving Wang.
A few children inside enjoying the traffic school
Thankyou Robmc for placing this cache.

Find #111 on our Mega trip. We searched for a while for this until fingers happened to touch the right spot and there was the well hidden cache.
Thanks for the fun.

A brief search and Michelle from the Bowden Family soon yelled found it. Thanks for the fun
One of the few physical caches I found when in Wangaratta for a mega geocaching weekend. Many thanks for the cache.
Came to start the nearby whereigo and ended up finding 10 of this trail, with one of these being DNF. A nice walk, and passing muggles all very friendly. Was starting to warm up well, by the time I got to Mr Ed. Then off to the CITO.
All but the DNF at Mr Ed were quick finds.

Made my up to Wangaratta to attend the Mega event over this weekend that we have finally been able to attend.
Thanks to everyone behind the scenes for making this happen on this weekend.
After spending the day driving and walking to find as many caches of various types as I can it was time for tea.
So after a couple of beers and a great parma put on by the Wangaratta footy club it was time for a rest.
But no as GemmaSistema was staying at the same motel as I was she said to me I’m driving so lets go find some more caches at this late hour.
We picked out some of the caches along the OMCT trail and off we went.
There was no traffic around here tonight or else we would have seen their headlights shining as they navigating the roads within.
This one took longer than it should so I blame the long day and tiredness for it or that is my excuse anyway.
Thanks Robmc TFTC.

With the Mega event being held in Wangaratta, The Rats, Hoojar, Wilbert67 and I headed south for the main event but also plenty of other local hides.
We tackled trails around Glenrowan on Friday, together with Beechworth and the HSS Series before spending time around Wangaratta on the Saturday. TFTC!

Headed south with my caching mates, steeba, Hoojar and Wilbert to attend the on, off, on again COVID restricted Wangaratta Mega event...... credit to the organisers for persisting.
With us having limited time in the area, we tried to pack as much as we could into each day. From Glenrowan, to Beechworth, to Mrytleford, to Warby Ovens NP, to the streets of Wangaratta, we seemed to be on the go all the time. While the weather was too hot for caching at times we often found relief by cooling off in the river.
We found so many different types of caches, its a credit to all the CO's for providing the caches for everyone to find, whether they were new or old placements, we had a great time in Wang.
It was mega Saturday and this cache was part of my 12 types in a day

After sending the family home back to Punka just before lunch, I stayed alone in the caravan for the rest of the Mega. I had my caching buddy Jetsons23 with me taking her around the area picking up a few caches before she had to head back home at 4pm. Half way through our adventure we picked up one half of EarthboundChief to join us.
We spent far too long looking for this one. Every one of us had a severe case of cache blindness. We all checked the same area several times. Checked the surrounding area too thinking we were in the wrong spot at one stage. Almost walking away with a DNF, we regrouped and I had another look spotting the cache.
Thank you for the cache here Robmc ??

The lure of a couple of extra icons (Maze and Locationless) meant that I was more keen than normal to attend a Mega Event. Covid issues asside, a plan was hatched, rehatched, changed and finalised to attend for a few days in Victoria with Steeba, Wilbert67 and The Rats. Another trip away like countless others that we have done before, and yet totally different, thanks to Covid.
The caches were excellent. The company, as always, fantastic. We find more than our fair share of Adventure Labs, as well as complting a few series. I think we walked away with 300 finds, not a bad haul. The laughs were endless, but that is to be expected on trips away like this.
Thanks so much to all of the cache hiders, and especially to the event organisers. I cannot imagine the hoops that you had to keep jumping through to get this off the ground. A special thank you for bringing the Maze Down Under!
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Again thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

After organizing some time off to allow us to attend the Wangaratta Mega we are in town for an extended period.
Looking forward attending the various activities organized during the Mega period as well as finding a variety of different caches during our time here while catching up with caching friends we have met over the years.
The weather has been hot for us Gippslanders, but very humid as well.
Our thanks to the Mega committee for the enormous amount of effort that has gone into organizing the event and to the local cachers for their placements

After having lunch I decided that at this point it might be smart for me to set up my tent at the caravan park I had booked a spot at for the night to avoid the hotter part of the day. Still having plenty of heat I definitely took it slower at this point trying not to get too much UV exposure to make the rest of my trip a bit more miserable.
With that being said I managed to grab a handful of caches before heading down to Greta to grab some of the Ned Kelly geoart. Managing to get all but one..... may return with a ladder for that NedKelly tree climb. Anyways thanks for the cache and being a part of a great afternoon. I apologise for the generic log.
