We visited this site some time ago during one of our regular Thursday caching days. I decided International Earthcache day was a sign to finally log it. An interesting selection of different rocks here. Thanks RoddyC

Having spent a great time at an event this morning we then did a few geocaches before heading to the Earthcaches wed planned to do while in the area. By the time we got here wed been on the go for several hours and my arthritis was playing up so geohubby was my hero and took this one on himself. We submitted his answers and received good words from the CO. Many thanks for the experience he had at this location. Cheers and happy caching!

What a fantastic area. Did a few other caches and saw many animals and birds along the way.Wish rocks, to me, just didn't look like well - rocks, but suppose if I do enough of these EC's they may start to look more like others see them.Answers have been message.

Out for the day with nikid1 to start getting points for the souvenir. Earthcaches make me wish I'd learnt geology at school or uni! I'm afraid my rock identification skills leave a lot to be desired but I enjoyed our visit to this area & have sent my answers to the CO.Thanks for the earth cache RoddyC

My second earth cache of the day and it was a quick ascent to the target area.

With messages sent to the cache owner for review I headed off to find another cache near by and return to my car to pen this log.

A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.

Cheers

It rained this morning and it is raining tonight. In between Mr 10 and I took the geopup for an outing and a chance to get some more caches towards the 100 for the Wheel of Challenges put out by headquarters.

Not sure if I had the right rocks for part B. They were the only ones I could see that were different.

Today, jesswrigley and I planned the morning with a mountain bike ride in Daisy Hill / Koala Bushland Coordinated Conservation Area. We roughly followed the waypoints of [MTB Madness](https://coord.info/GC1J639) whilst making a clockwise loop around the area, followed by an early banh mi lunch.
I then had a solo afternoon that I utilised to visit many of the Daisy Hill *Parks and Recreation Series* caches, and finally, I took a visit to Kimberley Forest Park before then needing to dash to make a Brisbane CBD pickup.

After taking a visit here, I soon found the rock outcrops at Part A, and they were a familiar rock type that I had seen within the vicinity. A couple of observations were made, and then I moved on to Part B. I did have some trouble in wondering what direction Part B wanted me to go (there was no clear up), and I think from attempting to get help from past logs, others appeared to have had trouble too. I headed in a rough direction and hoped for the best, and after some looking around, I think I found an applicable sample at S 27° 37.658' E 153° 08.736' (perhaps this waypoint's coordinates could just be added to avoid ambiguity?). Clearly the line of questioning angled me in a particular way that they weren't natural, but they did seem to be (with some manmade touches applied). I then later learned that not all rocks are rocks! Thanks RoddyC for the EarthCache organisation and placement.

Today i am out finding a few Earth caches and this was my first of 3 for today. I have actually been here before but it was early on in my geocaching career and i did not have the confidence to try and answer the questions. SInce then i have really enjoyed Earth caches as they take you to some of the nicest places and also its great to learn. I tried as best as i could to answer the questions and sent them to the CO. Thanks for taking me here and teaching me about these rocks

Dropped by to check out a RoddyC EC, RaR. Hard not to miss the first part of this EC and managed to completely get the wrong geology until corrected by the CO. Got confused on what was required on the second part so took a stab and got this part correct. No stuffing up the third part!! Answers forwarded to the CO and reply obtained, TFTEC RoddyC.

Hard to believe it’s taken two weeks for me to recover from our visit… physically… psychologically it will take much longer…

It might have been the trauma of having to taste the rocks… or it might just have been me…

I’m so glad I’ve stopped simply stepping over Earthcaches… even if they can be dangerous to your health….

A free day off work so have tee’d up Peppa to do some random caching on the south side.

We didn’t really have a plan but I had a list, a long list, of caches that help with various challenges. The list has gone out the window now as we pick up random unfound caches in the area.

Another of Peppa’s favourite cache type. We looked at the rocks, touched the rocks and even fell off the rocks…maybe we got too close to the rocks. Tftc RoddyC

This is my second time here since the first time I was here with Chamad I didn’t understand the questions and never submitted anything for it. Luckily this time I have a little more knowledge about Earthcaches and knew exactly what to do.

I quickly wandered around GZ to gather my answers and submitted them to the CO.

Thanks RoddyC for bringing me here today. Great view from up here.

We were in the area for the Daybro Mega but with the weather is being less than friendly to us so we are concentrating on Earth, Virtual and Adventure Labs.
When we read Rocks ain't Rocks we immediately though of Sol. The power of advertising.
This was a enjoyable Earth cache both in Geological learning and scenic beauty, it also had other caches in the area. Smile
We learned a lot here and possibly would not have even noticed the different rocks here if it were not for this earth cache.
We collected the answers and have sent them off to the CO. If they are not good enough for this log to remain we will happily delete this log.
Many thanks RoddyC for setting up the earth Cache.

Dayboro QLD Mega - Day Four:

The fourth day of our mega road trip with buhfuhguh!

Another 12+ hour day of caching, one of the highlights was finding nine Earthcaches, I am sure that is a daily record for me! Just crazy! A whole bunch of challenges, wherigos, virtuals, letterbox's and Australia's most Eastern cache were also good to grab. A very long but eventful day!

We started in Casino, NSW at 7am and finished up in Bray Park, QLD at 10pm completely buggered! Thanks to all the CO's

---

This Cache:

Another interesting location at a suburban Earthcache!
Found the rocks for Part A without hassle and answered the questions, but then struggled to find what we needed for Part B! Turns out it was more like 20 paces rather than 10, so after extending our "search area" a bit more, we found what we were looking for hiding amongst the overgrowth.

Very interesting too! Wasn't quite what we were expecting to find, but now the questions made more sense and we came to a conclusion with our answers. Sent to the CO and got the OK.

Many thanks for the adventure, I have a photo at GZ as well but won't post it here given the wishes of the CO as it shows the rocks at WP1.

This was our first visit to this beautiful reserve.

Out and about today grabbing some Earthcaches I had spied on the map whilst visiting family on the Gold Coast. I managed to visit 5 different Earthcaches today which was great Big Grin also picked up a few random traditionals that were nearby.

Love visiting Earthcaches when away, get to learn some more new things about different locations. Submitted answers and photo through to the CO who gave a very quick thumbs up approval to log - much appreciated Big Grin

Thanks for the Earthcache and geology lesson RoddyC Big Grin

Well it was Internation Earthcache day and was a beautiful day to go wandering!

Was in the area so ventured to this earthcache. I was using my phone and it was a little off, so I was pretty much way off where I should have been. When I was suppose to be looking uphill I wandered back to the car and found the spot!

Hmm.... nice rock! So i gently caressed them like any gentleman would and the answers were slowly revealed! It happens when you treat them right! Razz

Anyhows answers sent to CO and I was off, but I had to go look at that fancy bridge! Big Grin

Thanks RoddyC for the diversion!

Gave myself the day off to do a caching run Slightly cooler but still felt like a sauna. Lots of hopping in and out of the car and a few short walks. Scored a hot ️ along the way.

Completed Part A then walked up the path to Part B, as was more focused on how many of my little steps equalled 10 paces. Then realised the error of my ways. Get it, eh? Responses sent to the CO

Headed south from work to collect some finds for the day.
After a puzzle and two traditional caches, it was time for this Earth Cache.
Rocks, rocks and more rocks. Looked, touched and took some notes.
My fav here was the fern trees.
With the information collected I headed home for dinner and logs.

Thank you RoddyC for another EC

Today wad the chance to get some caches in this are done. Since we live in Brisbane, we have never done any geocaching around here – just because we live on the other side and for some reasons other ideas come up on the limited time caching together. As geowife is somewhere far north for work, I can do my own thing for a week and decided to get onto this area and clear some caches in RoddyC’s backyard.

Quickly stopped here and answered the questions for this EC

Thanks.
