WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 94 - Carnarvon Day 2. After a huge day yesterday, I was hoping for a relaxed day today. I started off with a visit to the Carnarvon Space museum. It is very impressive, they have lots of stuff, but not all of it is explianed. The mock up moon lander is very impressive and the outside dishes are huge. I ten headed into town to have lunch with dghoffy, another east coast cacher catch up. The afternoon then became a time to do the second set o labs and the rest of the traditional caches around town. I again met up with dghoffy and we did a few caches together. I had been thinking of an evening outing, but I was not up to it and had dinner in the van and an early night. Tomorrow is the drive to Coral Bay. I was just a few minutes early for the museum, so I walked from the car park to thus cache. A quick find as cars filed in for the days learning experience. Thanks for the cache Team Outnabout48690.1 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & February 2020 Dwayyo 3 A#424**Albida**
Nice quick find at this interesting location. Unable to see inside as we have a furry friend with us. Thankfully no issue with getting the cache. Tftc
Found this shortly after spending a couple of hours at the Space Museum, which we loved. Thanks for the hide.
Very quick find. Visited the museum in 2015. Should revisit but running short of time. TFTC
We first visited the Space Museum. Then we looked for the cache. We found this very quickly. Thank you very much for laying and caring for it.
After visiting the museum, which I really enjoyed, we searched for this cache and found it. Thanks for placing and maintaining it.
Enjoyed the space museum and picked this once up afterwards. Loved the name choice. Tftc
Found this cache whilst on our two month adventure throughout central Australia and remote parts of WA.A QuickFind as we headed out of town. Thanks to all the COs for adding to our adventure. TFTC
Youngest of our geokids found this one (again). With zPoolman and our geokids. Aka team flash
On our travels we found ourselves in Carnarvon and took the opportunity to grab a few caches, once our GPS settled down it was a quick find, thanks for placing it
This is a great location, I loved all the space stuff! Opted to not go in for reasons of priorities and timings, but enjoyed the look at things that I did. Cache found nice and quickly, some photos and an AL. Carnarvon is a really nice town expecially around the coastal areas, lots of museums and points of interest too. Quite peaceful and scenic. Great to explore a bit this morning with the AL's and some caches before heading back to Hitch up and get back on the road again.
Found with e.gregory1 on a trip from Adelaide to north-western Western Australia for four or five weeks. Camped out along Milinya-Exmouth Road before heading southward to spend most of the day around Carnarvon and on to our next campsite somewhere near Overlander Roadhouse, finding a few caches along the way. Thanks for the cache Team Outnabout!
Found on a trip to Western Australia from Adelaide with FeatherWaite. Last night we camped south of Coral Bay and this morning we continued traveling south towards Carnarvon and beyond. The cache was a quick find and was in good condition. Thanks Team Outnabout for the cache.
Found 13:00Three months of travelling in Western Australia with Muggle friends from the East coast; stopover in Singapore on the outward and return flights. Caches and labs where they are on the way and can be done without too much effort. You may forgive me for using the same standard phrase everywhere, but there's not much more to it than that. Many thanks to all the owners for making our hobby possible. If there is anything wrong with the cache, more detailed information follows.
Arrow shows **exactly** where it is----------Decided to do a long road trip, flying in from Canberra, starting and finishing the drive in Port Hedland. It was a long day of flights, followed by 7 days of lots of kilometres. I stopped at every 'point of interest' along the way, I wanted to miss nothing! Earthcaches, Virtuals & AL's are always very good waypoints for interesting things as well.Every night I downloaded a bunch of podcasts and these made the kilometres fall away. This was the first outback road trip I have done where I saw more emu's than kangaroos. The wild camels walking in the desert were also very cool to see. My trusty swag served me very well.
Such a great spot that we likely wouldnt have stopped at without the cache - TFTC!
So great to see this museum! tFTC! 1st in canarvon. Visiting from Us-Minnesota with my daughter from Canberra!
Great interesting museum. Lots to see and do. Volunteer staff are lovely and informative. Lots of interactive displays. Loved playing Galaga, havent seen it in years. Im now following Buzz the cat on Facebook. Tftc
Camping trip to Gnaraloo Station Today's drive was from Gero to Carnarvon, and with no caches left to be found along that remote leg of the journey it was great to reach Carnarvon and clear up some stray dots around town. Museum was again closed when I visited (I *will* go inside one day,!), so was easy to stop the car right by GZ and have a poke around. Coords were off but the placement meant the container was still easily spotted after widening the search a little. TFTC
What a fabulous and interesting place to come to - had we not driven past on the way in to Carnarvon, we would have missed it! Always good to find a gem on the way, this one deserves a favourite point. Tftc from Germany (Strufe) and Albany
A perfect simple cache in a great spot - especially if you visit outside the museum operating hours, so there are no muggles! Thanks for putting this out there, I am in town for work and have limited opportunities for leisure activities, so a quick simple find is
Yeah found it. Took a while. The museum is great - def a recommendation. Thanks for laying it. Cheers from Bavaria Madhome

Well ET - Carnarvon has sat in the imagination too for some time! We spent a few hours being astronauts and being thoroughly overwhelmed by the sheer volume and techno info. The volunteers do an awesome job too. The trip is making me think about re-imagining Australian history! In Carnarvon for a few days with plenty of time to explore. Have travelled WEST from home base 4200 km away and that includes altitude as well so enjoying the landscape and habitat changes of this BIG country. TFTC and the lure to visit.
We are from the Netherlands and travel around in WA! We love it! We are also looking for geocaches! This is one of them! Greetings from the Netherlands!
Fantastic museum to visit and I’m so glad this is available 24 seven because that gave me the hint where to look

Today we made our way from Denham to Carnarvon. As there is not much sightseeing on the way, we just stopped for some caches...
In Carnavon Mum-Inegüxle proposed to visit the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum; always when heraring "museum" I use to be a little bit sceptic, but this one was one of my best experiences so far on our trip. It was certainly worth a stop, even if there woudn't be a cache here. I leave a favo on this cache, maybe this will attract some more visitors for this museum.
Thanks for the cache and regards from Switzerland.

Fortunately, you made our day, because by cracking our brains about the lab cache here, we were less successful; with your cache we retained some self-confidence
What a fantastic museum. I have been in a similar one in USA, but this is better as it shows Australian involvement in the moon landings. Found cache easy and signed the log . All in good condition.
Caravanning, Caching and hunting Wild Flowers on our trip to W.A. Staying here for a while to get the fridge fixed. Went for a small drive to grab this one. T.F.T.C
Nice quick one on way out to Exmouth, but have to do a view caches first of course.

We were on a driving/camping holiday up to Exmouth with a few stops on the way and than camping our way back to Perth. Stopping for some caches along the way.Found some lovely and learned some interesting things that we wouldn't have stopped to look at if it wasn't for caching.A great time was had, even though one day our campsite was flooded and we had to move to a new site, many animals crossed our paths including a snake in Exmouth, overall it was a great adventure.TFTC
On my way to Perth via Broome with a few detours for LGAs. TFTC.
Great museum with an interesting history.

Catchng up on some late logs, now that I am supposed to have time since we are on the road travelling. We are on the road travelling up through central Australia and down the coast of W.A. This is one of the caches we stopped off to grab along the way.An easy enough find at GZ while visiting this great museum. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
Cache and log are good, with still room for signatures. Interesting place, and thank you for bringing us here. Favourite point. (It's now a micro.) TFTC Team Outnabout.

A quick find today. Visiting Carnarvon for the bowling carnival and with a rest day today we checked out this cache. We didn’t visit the museum as have done it in the past but I’d highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t seen it. Definitely save a few hours to give it justice. TFTC SL
