Another day to go for lunch
It's always fun around this bunch
'Twas great to meet some newer folk
And with old friends we laugh and joke
Of how much fun we have each day
This game that we all love to play
So once again I thank B.C.
For doing all this just for me.

Thanks Brother Colin for hosting another event...it certainly was an eye opener into how other people live! I was puzzled and frustrated at the increase in the TV volume before I was informed that was the reason WHY everyone else was there... I looked around and yes, everyone had their eyes fixed on the screens. I had nooo idea people flocked to places like this just to watch sporting events...Really!!! I couldn't think of anything more boring...I'd rather be out caching
We attended but didn't realise we were going to...we actually thought we were going to have lunch with our grandparents!
Fangsoki and I decided that our event attendance of choice this weekend shall be in the small Canadian township of Toowoomba. After a great morning of old timer caches we rocked up to a rather full clubhouse and spotted a couple of olde timer cachers. For a caching event the place was rocking. Bodies everywhere, the hustle and bustle of food and drinks, the distinct babble of excited voices clamoring to be heard by their neighbours. A general hub bub. Then it dawned on me that all eyes were focussed on the TV's and only a smaller group of sensible humans were ignoring some TV show. Apparently it was a thing. I ate and socialized and chatted. Nabbed a couple of TBs to move along and drank their coffee.
Thanks for holding this event, Brother Colin. A most excellent time was had at this, my 74th ever event.

Drove down from Nanango this morning and collected two new hides in Crows Nest then came to Toowoomba to maintain one of mine then to the event. Arrived early but BC was there early as well. Good event. Caught up with ole friends and had a good chat. Good to see some new ca hers here as well.
About 25 people in attendance. TFTE Brother Colin

Well I was eventually a little late due to lunch at a separate venue but I made it with time enough to meet all that battled the boxing loving crowd. Nice to meet some new faces, some old ones, and some I hadn't seen for some time. Thanks BrotherColin for a well planned event .
We were in Toowoomba for the weekend so of course we were coming to this event to meet the CO of all the caches we have been doing lately, and it was the type of event we love, food and a bar. We could finally shout BC a beer for all the entertainment he has been giving the 4 of us. It was a shame we had to drive back to Brisbane today because more beers would have been better.
Great to see a couple of people we already know, plus meet some new cachers as well. One thing Mrs 4ando learnt from this event after talking with Dutchie1950, Triciac2 and Snickersallan is wow, we need to get out even more then we do now, these ladies put us to shame, they are certainly living life to the fullestSo we have already apologised to our kids and have informed them we will be dragging them to even more places!!!
When we first arrived the man driving the golf buggy around the carpark zoomed around to us and had the geo-kids jump in for a free ride up to the entrance…
Thanks for the event Brother Colin, fantastic to finally meet you.

One thing I like about my geocaching life is that it is very random
I wanted to get out of the hub-bub for the day - as did Pprime. He also had been working on my Event Challenge and it just so happened this Event ticked a box for him for the Challenge.
But of course we don't just attend Events for Challenges. We got to catch up with some old friends. The place was quite busy due to the boxing match and made mingling a little challenging. The fact that the boxing match would be showing at the golf club was a a fact that was lost on everyone - not just the cache owner.
But geocachers always make do - and it was an enjoyable get together and lunch. It was great to catch up with T-Tech whose story about "meeting" Sweet_bee at the Event nearly had me rolling on the floor
The food was excellent. The company was excellent. Thanks for organising the Event, Brother Colin

I was SO tempted to just type TFTC, just to be a PITA, but naaaaah that’s not how I roll. Lucky you
I’ll admit it. I had a little trouble finding this cache due to it blending in so well with the surrounds, so I sent the CO a quick message, hahaaa… but before he had a chance to reply I noticed a likely spot tucked away from the majority of the crowds, a site where something looked a little different to the surrounds… yes, ok, I saw the geocaching sign on the table. Phew, found it. It is a D1 T1 after all…
I had previously met two cachers who were here today, and it was great to catch up with them and to meet others. Wow, sitting here having lunch with geocaching royalty… noice!! I felt like a bit of an imposter at first, but it didn’t take too long before I realised I wasn’t the only crazy one – proud crazy one – there. Ah yes, I think I may have found my people… hehehe. Then one lovely cacher (no sarcasm here at all) suggested I was ‘almost’ as loud as her… well I’ll blame the second beer I had, which was initially intended to assist with my nerves, but may have had the unexpected side effect of increasing my volume as well?! Nooooo, who’d have thunk?! Stop laughing, Heather…. I’m normally very quiet, shy and reserved…. I said stop laughing, Heather!
Anywaaaaaay… I was inspired, motivated and encouraged through the chats at today’s get together, and I really appreciate everyone being so welcoming and awesome.
As a result, and after at least two minutes deliberating over the idea, I have decided there needs to be a change to the rating system for geocache events. A 3rd category is most definitely required. Obviously we have Terrain and Difficulty ratings, but there is a massive need for a Personality Rating. Really, considering geocaching has been going for so long, I find it hard to comprehend how we don’t already have this third rating?!
Clearly it should be as follows:
P1 = ‘probably gonna be crap, probably end up thinking I shoulda stayed at home even though I got to log an event…’
P2 = ‘Tolerable but did you hear so and so say such and such omg they’re kinda nasty we should throw something at them…’
P3 = ‘Well that was okay. At least the toilets were clean…’
P4 = ‘That was super fun, everyone was amicable, no-one threw knives, and I got a bit of help with a puzzle’
and finally
P5 = ‘Gosh, I didn’t need therapy at all after that, wow, what unexpected awesomeness I discovered within the psyches of these ever so lovely folk. I laughed, I didn’t cry, I didn’t end up rocking in the corner under the table, and I even may have gained a facebook friend! (haha, sucker!!) omg wow. TNLNDSLCTWO (that’s ‘Took nothing left nothing, didn’t sign log cos there wasn’t one) TFTE.’
As there is no P rating at this stage I cannot give it a rating. However, I had a thoroughly enjoyable time, learnt stuff, had a few laughs and an okayish chicken burger. Which sounds a LOT like a 5, doesn’t it.

T-Tech and I spent the weekend with Brother Colin, and attending his event was a no-brainer. The gatherings in T'ba are always popular and it was good to catch up with lots of friends. And it seems I have found a new buddy Yes Caro, I am still laughing! Thanks for the hospitality again, BC, and of course thanks for hosting the event. Make that #332.
I had a great time. Loved meeting old and new friends.
Thank you Brother Colin ( aka Son)

I am glad I made the effort to attend after a few 'dry' seasons. Lovely not to only see old faces, but getting acquainted with an few new ones as well. Location was great, lunch was great, company was great and now looking forward to the next event which I hope I will be able to attend, in August. Thanks for organising this one, Brother Colin.

Sunday. SP were in a somewhat cool Toowoomba after having found the SSE geo-art and today we attended the COs Canada Turns 150 event.
A good time was had by all, good food and drink and we saw some old faces and met some new ones. The CO even had a Canajian Flag and Hockey Jersey to set the scene.
This was the 3rd of 4 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Brother Colin***, for holding this event. Some other minor event was apparently being televised, but we know we were attending the MAIN event.

Didn't know if I would make it, but should be fine. Making my way down from Maroochydore this time.
Looks like I'll be up in Toowoomba for the weekend. Cant miss an opportunity to gain a souvenir and meet up with some cachers.
Should be able to make it, hopefully the two of us although the teen may not make it.
How exciting! I'm a Canadian living in Toowoomba so this is music to my ears. Will be there!
As luck would have it, we are passing through here with our van, on our way home, why not drop in, see ya then.

I will make the journey from Nanango to catch up with others and maybe I might just have to ask some questions about certain puzzles by then. One only this trip.
We should be there...but one of The Esky Boys already has something booked in for then so only four of us.
