My husband was happy to come geocaching with me today if it also involved some gentle walking, his form of physiotherapy as he is recovering from a knee injury. I planned for us to come to Toorourrong Reservoir and then make our way back to Whittlesea.
Thank you AmyGVSL & Co for taking us on this short walk and rewarding us with a great view.
Thank you AmyGVSL & Co for taking us on this short walk and rewarding us with a great view.
I had come to the [Toorourrong Reservoir Park](https://www.parks.vic.gov.au/places-to-see/sites/toorourrong-reservoir-park) today in order to find [n0w0rries'](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=5b32a917-ec75-4f0f-8609-dc880f31d698&wid=fa05e927-a62e-4512-8824-d5b2bbb364c7&ds=2) [2020 D/T Challenge (GC8H9X1)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC8H9X1) cache.
After making a find there, I had a quick look around to see what other caches were in the area when I saw this one and how could I miss an opportunity to find the best cache container, **an ammo can!**
The weather was horrible on my drive north and rained the whole time, but luckily it had stopped raining by the time I made my approach to GZ. It was then a lovely little walk over to GZ. Once I arrived it was a quick search before the cache was found and the logbook signed.
This was a beautiful spot to hide a cache and it had a killer view from GZ.
So a big thanks goes to [amygvsl](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=27396423-8499-4246-8a89-08ee44b05e99&wid=946d180a-a499-40f5-bd5b-f3b359c2d112&ds=2) for bringing me here today to take in this view and for the fun today. TFTC.
I ended up finding [Brad's Dodge Charger Trackable (TB566D9)](https://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=86746c93-3e0f-418c-a306-0388b1e4c6a1) in a cache the other day and since it needs a few Kms I will just dip it here and continue to move it on it's journey.
**Cache Maintenance Status**
The inner and outer cache containers were in great shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

I had come out to *Toorourrong Reservoir* to find one of the Multis based here... after collecting the information I needed for the Multi and working out where I needed to go next, I took a detour on my way back to my car to look for this cache. A nice easy find on a weekday when there are no muggles about (I was the only person here)... bet it would be a whole lot more difficult on a sunny Sunday afternoon!
Thanks **AmyGVSL & Co** for putting this cache here.

Find # 12656
Found with Tyred n Cranky.
Take 2 ??
Back in March we didn't finish off finding all the puzzles.
So day 2 (3months later) we back for another drive around the Whittlesea area.
Plan for the day (same as last trip) is to grab some of the caches we missed out on when we were here for the Mega. We have quite a few to choose from, as we didn't get much of the compass done back then.
A couple of premium TOTT on board required for those higher up caches.
Our last cache for the day. Managed to find it by phone light lol.
As it was just on 5pm when we got out to the res, we parked at the gate and walked down. Just off the gate was a wombat having a munch on the grass at the edge of the road. First wombat I've seen while geocaching. So cool.
The cache was worth the walk down (and back up)
TFTC AmyGVSL & Co
Adding a fave... cool.

Find No. 4288. Found with FUF009 at 5.50pm.
Another day trip to Whittlesea to see if we can finish off caches we still have to find in this area.
Three months ago, back in March we done a day trip and found quite a few caches, but we still had quite a few to find, so today we hope to get most of these finished. FUF 009 came with us.
Back then we were in our van, today we are in FUF009's ute, that will go places that our van won't.
The plan today was to drive around and get as many caches as possible within daylight hours.
After completing the caches in the Yan Yean Reservoir area, and the Puzzle for Beginners Series, we continued on out this way finding caches along the way as we made our way back to Whittlesea.
After having lunch at the Community Gardens we then continued on our way getting more caches we had on our list to do for the day.
Well this afternoon we seemed to be doing a lot of double backing getting caches here and there.
Now going down Jacks Creek Road to get our final five finds for the day and then when we finish getting them we will have to again double for the last time before heading home.
We parked at the gateway and decided on walking in to get the three caches in this area, as we didn't want to get locked in if the gates closed.
You know the saying 'The best is left till last' Well that is definitely what this cache was. We hummed and harred about doing it because of the darkness but we had our torch phones, so we kept going and we were all so glad that we did. In our books this cache was the best cache we have found all day. The size, the swag, the log book. For everything about this cache we are giving it a favourite point.

We found this cache today on our Whittlesea Wander as we continued to complete some of the other caches that we had missed on our previous three trips up here. Quite a little pump up to get up the hill this late in the afternoon. Thanks from D & HA B-A
I found myself at a loose end for a morning so I thought that I would pick away at some of the Mega puzzles that I hadn't had an opportunity to grab so off to the Whittlesea area I went.
I made a slight detour to grab this cache, A quick find, TNLN. TFTC.

The Whittlesea Mega has been on and off for a long time due to that rotten COVID-19. The sad part is that due to MND I really think this could be my last Mega but I am in the area for a week thanks to my two great SA friends who travelled from SA visiting Ballarat for a couple of days and then moved down to Geelong only to pick me up and we are staying in Craigieburn for a week and then they are taking me back to Geelong. It’s generosity like that Geocaching folk are renowned for, plus all the help that I have received in the past few days which I will be forever grateful.
This guy was found , signed on the 21st Novmber 2022 with my two SA friends who were looking after the ageing Bushfire.
Thanks for placing and looking after this cache . I am slowly getting a few more of these caches logged but for how long I really don't know depends on the body.
The good news is that I am working on going to the Rutherglen Mega. So time will tell, thanks to Amygvsl & Co for placing. NINO after all these years.

All was quiet when we arrived at the reserve. With the car parked, it was a shortcwalk to this interesting location. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a good sized cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks AmyGVSL & CO for the cache.
Returning to the area today with some unfinished business. For some reason, I didn’t get much caching done last weekend.
No roos spotted today, but an ace spot for a cache with plenty of swag. Nice work.

This lovely area with some great dam views was being used by only one other person while we were there. A nice spot for a picnic especially if a mower ran over it, or a couple of multis like we planned to do. TFTC amygvsl, it's always a treat to find an ammo can. Took Kiss of Love TB.
I arrived at the car park.... no one else around so off to GZ I went. Part way there another car pulled up. I'm going to be muggled. I'll have to wait until they go and in the meantime I had a reasonably good idea of the location of GZ. Muggles arrived but kept on walking leaving it clear for me to make the find.
Whittlesea Event trip. Day 8. Caching today with bushfire and brisal5.
I found your D1.5/T1.5 Regular Traditional called Two Roo Wrong at 13:18 on 21 November 2022. It was find #16421 for me. Thank you amygvsl for placing this cache for our enjoyment in the wonderful state of Victoria.

Whittlesea Mega Wobble and Wade Tour: Day 8: Trying to finish of what we started
Once again myself and Anymules were in Victoria on our way to a Mega event. We made a detour via Geelong and picked up Bushfire. It had been three years since we last all cached together. [^] Many laughs with friends at events and on the trails, many caches were found and unless something stood out these will be generic logs.
***Thanks amygvsl for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

Sunday and again, so much still to do around town; events, caches, labs, puzzles etc, where to start. The weather conditions have changed to every 9 minutes, but this has not dampened my look on this area. It is fantastic area and with so much going on. With my caching buddies the plan for today was to try and finish off series of caches and labs before those who had to leave. I still have another day around here yet which I am going to need.
It was a very busy day with some fantastic views and some fantastic caches. We covered a large area in our ”cleaning up” and were happy with the finish. Thanks to all the CO’s for the caches.
This was an easy find for us.

Whittlesea Mega Trip Day 4. The second day of the Mega was a day for a whole bunch of Canberra cachers get together and make a mass effort on the TWC puzzle caches and any other caches that are on the roads we pass along the way. A huge effort had been put in by everyone in the team to solve all of these over the past year or so. There were several cars and our full group was Kitty Katch, Joolay, Barb2e, Isopeda, Dt773, Tankengine, Youban, Aquilus, Grayhams, Sol de Lune, LuckL10n, Smitten Granny, Contesta, cosmonaut97, Nibletricecakes, Gliss!, Fitzy_1965, MinnieK & I. We signed each log as WCCG - Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group. After grabbing a coffee at the on site vendor, we headed off and started tackling caches. There were some very rutted and wet tracks, a few trees that had to be cleared and even a walk or two. There were a few highlights, I will mention those in the relevant cache. It was a long tough day, but we made it back for the farewell event and a chance to get something to eat.
Thanks for the cache amygvsl

Today was tiring, very successful and great fun. It was a joint effort by the group solving all these puzzles before we came down. Today was the day that we decided to go out and find them all together with some traditionals, letterboxes and multis as we passed them along the chosen route.
As I said it was a very successful day with no DNFs and all logs were signed as WCCG - Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group. Well everyone had lived in Canberra or nearby at some stage and it was great to join up with those who have moved on - without our permission I might add.
Big thanks to all the COs for the placement and maintenance of all these caches that added to the fun and excitement of the incredible MEGA.

The JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre) crew went on a MEGA adventure. We all managed to get a 5 day weekend so we made the most of our trip out of state. Our main targets were old caches, different LGA's and those that have lots of favourite points plus of course the MEGA and all the caches put out in celebration
Thanks to all those who have placed, hosted events and kept all the other caches alive for us to find.

Day 4 of our Mega Trip. After three great days of our trip this was to be the biggest day plus heading home. The Canberra Region Cachers gathered for coffee and food before heading out to tackle the TWC, Letterboxes, Beginner Puzzles and anything else along the way (and there were a lot). Next cache of the day. A quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.

The JAMS team ( JJ52,Allister w, Mogni, and sir_spectre minus mitchell&hound ) we where out for there usually monthly caching adventure. This time it was to Victoria for the Whittlesea Mega. We left thrusday morning and came back monday We targeted as many Vic LGA's on the journey there and back plus trying to get some extra's around the " melbourne CBD ". A few letterbox D/T's that don't exist in S.A. where stamped and selected D/T's in victoria for our fizzy grid only using victorian caches ( 11 to go before this trip for me ). Where possible old caches where targeted in the missing LGA's ( 2000 or 2001 ) or caches with high fav points. This filled holes in some of the teams Jasper grids. The recent rains caused localized floods that caused a few road closures that slowed our team down and meant we didn't get all LGA's targeted, we where also slowed down by the parks that have turned in to marshes with the rain. Also one tree was climbed which was a record low for the team. It was good to catch up with some teams we have seen for many months or a year or two at the mega and meet some new teams as well.

We covered a lot of ground and had a fun time touring around Victoria. We also really enjoyed the Mega and caught up with lots of people, some we hadn't seen for quite a while. There was plenty to see and do at the showgrounds and we managed to fit events, labs and the maze while we were there before heading out to find more caches.
We were lucky with the weather, which turned out to be much nicer than what was forecast and we were able to get out there and find the caches we had targeted. All in all a great 5 days.
Today we stayed around Whittlesea finding as many of the TWC caches as we could and others we came across on our travels.
Thanks for the cache AmyGVSL & Co.

Great to be picking up some of the many puzzles and multis solved over many months and trips, as well as collecting some letterboxes and trads and whatever else was in our path. ??????
Today were some joint finds with Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group and signed WCCG. Caches in good condition unless otherwise stated. Many are the worse for wear from all of the flooding and wet weather events.
Thanks so much amygvsl for getting us out and about, and for the adventure highlights around Whittlesea. ??

In town for the for the next Geocaching Victoria mega event.....this one at Whittlesea.
Out with LuckyL10n today, and a load of other Canberra Cachers to do the TWC series and other caches in the area. One cache we couldn't access, otherwise all caches were found and logged as WCCG (Whittlesea Canberra Cachers Group).
Many thanks to all the cache owners for the caches....

#16924 - 10:24:00 AM; Up early and on the road with Sol de lune ahead of a full day of caching planned for today. First stop was the showgrounds to officially check-in for the Mega and meet up with the rest of the Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group (WCCG) before we set off to collect a couple of power trails (TWC and Beginners) plus the Showtime multis and other caches along our planned route. All caches were found without incident (although at times the antics and efforts of our interpid cachers were rather amusing), and they were all in unsurprisingly good order given recent maintenance runs by the CO's and helpers. All logs were signed WCCG to evidence our visit. Apologies for the largely generic logs. TFTC amygvsl
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73, youban and a whole bunch of other Canberra/ex Canberra cachers on our Whittlesea Mega trip down south! We had dedicated today to collecting as many of these caches for which the puzzles had been solved prior to the Mega (and a few others) ... After last night's storms and much rain, it was lovely to see the sun again today! Mind you, almost everywhere we went was flooded, and it didn't take long for our shoes and pant legs to be completely soaked! Some lovely caches/locations amongst these! Signed as WCCG (Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group) - Thanks heaps for the cache!
Having a blast down at the Whittlesea Mega. Teamed up today with a group of friends from Canberra to tackle the puzzles and caches around town. Signed as WCCG (Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group). Have come home covered head to toe in mud and smiles. Thanks for a great day. Thanks for the cache!
Love a big, dry cache! Here at MEGA and this was one of last found late Sunday afternoon. Lovely spot. Tftc AmyGVAL & Co
Out with a big group of caching friends picking out the puzzles that we worked on for a few months and got a few others on the way. We signed as WCCG - Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group, which was comprised of barb2e, Joolay, Kittykatch, albida33, fitzy_1965, Minniek, Nibbletricecake, Gliss!, Cosmonaut97, Silverfox71, Firebatman88, Contesta, DTY79, Tankengine, Youban, Greyhams, SolDeLune, LuckyLion10, SmittenGranny, Aquilus1 and me.
Sorry for the generic logs, but we moved so fast, I just couldn't log on the run. We managed to get back to the closing event.
Thank you for all the puzzles, multis and trads.

Found with the family whilst attending the local mega. Cool area and everyone enjoyed their time out and about. TFTC.
After much planning and waiting, the time had come to head south for a few days to attend the Whittlesea Mega.
So, with the car packed, the convoy consisting of us and Rapidlywild hit the road. Our plans for the weekend included grabbing this series as well as others around the area.
The Victorian weather was interesting, definitely agree with the four seasons in a day, but it didn’t dampen our plans too much.
Apologies for the generic logs, thanks to all the CO’s for the placements, we had a great time solving the puzzles and collecting them and many others along our journey.

Today I joined up with Team Waldron, Freddo, gridge98 and Davidwazza as we targeted caches of interest. All caches were signed or stamped A.O.T.

Today I started with the Welcome Event, then we did the GPS Maze, followed by a caching drive around with Goosenegg, Stainless Steel Rat, Tassie Trekkers and WhiteWebbs
Thank you for the cache.
All caches stamped with "Team Tassie"
November 2022 was planned as a trip to the Mega in Melbourne, so we flew from Hobart to Adelaide to find quite a few caches that we had missed last time. Some great caches were found, but the planned boat trip was canceled due to the weather. No matter the showers we found quite a few caches on the trip (Around 600) including a number with high Terrian values.
The drive-through down the Murray river on the NSW / Victoria border showed the impacts of the current floods. A number of caches planned were canceled due to the flooding. Unfortunately, many of these caches will have been lost to the flood. The Mega, as per the whole week, was on and off a wet time, even so a number of caches were still found with Goosenegg, Stainless Steel Rat, Whitewebbs and Tassie Trekkers

A nice and easy find out here
This weekend was mega weekend and we headed over with Freddo, team Waldron, e.gregory1 and Davidwazza as part of our team called: ‘Aussies on Tour’, the log books were either signed with the name, AOT or our individual caching names.
A great weekend away and a very well organised mega despite the horrible weather thrown at us we still managed to find quite a few caches
Thanks for the cache

November 2022. Time for the second Victorian Mega of the year. This time in Whittlesea. What is it with W's? Time for another epic road trip. Who will join our merry crew? We traveled from South Australia and camped in the pig pen. It rained. It blew. It was sunny. It was not sunny. All four seasons. Beautiful location and some awesome caches.
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

On our way to the mega and went via SA just so we could finish off the OYB series, We did these with TT and marked our territory with a stamp that said Team Tassie, most of the caches we found in good order and those couple that weren't we fixed up as best we could with what we had to hand.
All found now well till some more come out anyway!
Another year, another Victorian Mega, so where do we fly into, Adelaide like you do, after a few days in the city we ventured out into the wilds of SA before heading Northeast towards the border (You remember the name of the town, don't you?) before crossing over we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and we all finished off the OYB series.
Our attempts at a few caches as we moved South that were near rivers were as half expected we were thwarted by floods so we didn't get to those but added the odd on in here and there.
At long last we arrived in Whittlesea for the Mega late in the evening of Friday 11th and after a quick event headed to our accommodation for the next few days. While in the area we explored the area finding caches all over the place and we even got to meet up with our Victorian ex Tassie cacher 1Toolman who traveled up from down South to join us for the day
Thanks for the cache.

After clearing a fallen tree on the road we arrived here with some other caches (who patiently waited for us to clear the tree). A well stock cache- of my favourite type. Grabbed a couple of path tags here.
A fav for this one thanks amygvsl
Today we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and Mrs Whitewebbs to make a start on the TWC series, the maze and attend other events. It was a busy day!
It’s become a tradition to fly to a Mega via somewhere else so Stainless steel rat, budgietas and I flew from Hobart to Adelaide a week before the big event and, after a few days around the city, worked our way up along the Murray (where we could due to flooding) via Waikerie, Mildura, Swan Reach and Echuca before heading down through Shepparton to Whittlesea where we caught up, and cached with, a few other teams including Tassie Trekkers, Whitewebbs, 1toolman and icybeetas.
Thanks for all the caches.

We have been planning our Whittlesea Mega trip for quite a while now, and then it was postponed, so new plans were made. It was finally time to make our way down with a convoy of myself and the FFLL ladies. We had a big weekend around Whittlesea with the ever-changing weather, fighting some hay fever, and finding a range of cache types. We also managed to catch up with a few cachers we had not seen for a while. We had a great time away, so thanks to all the COs and event hosts. Apologies in advance for the generic logs across the weekend finds, it in no way devalues any of the hides, we just have a lot of logs to write up.
Officially day 1 of the Mega, however day 2 for us in Whittlesea. It was off to the Showgrounds for us to attend some events and do some labs. After attending the event, doing the GPS Maze, it was time to head off for some caching around Whittlesea. We had the TWC caches in our sights, so off we went. With the CITO being completed, we headed off for some more caching. Being nearby, would be rude to not pick up this 5 year old cache . Stamped with our FFLL & RWLD stamp.
Many thanks to all the COs (including the event hosts) and thanks to the FFLL ladies for another funfilled weekend away.

Here at the mega at Whittlesea we cache around the area as “Team Tassie” that included gooseandegg, stainless-steel-rat, Budgietas and whitewebbs.
We had a great tour around the country side finding pre solved caches and others along the way.
Thanks to all the cache owners whose caches we found today.

Whittlesea Mega review/summary of Saturday 19/11/22:
Our first mega and a mammoth day of caching in and around a lovely town to mark the occasion! We travelled down from Canberra yesterday with the day off work, before being adopted into the adventure boys today.
We convened at the welcome to Whittlesea event before making a beeline straight for the maze and gadget alley, where we were first in line! This was the start of a pretty solid lab cache haul, before the rest of the day would be spent tracking down physicals.
The GPS maze was incredibly interesting and informative, with so much to learn. I am sure we will have more to learn from another visit at the next mega!
As for gadget alley, there were so many clever and confounding contraptions that I’m glad we had a team to divide and conquer them. “Manfred was bored” was a particular favourite, as was the gnome in the tree. Turns out the artist who created said gnome is a fellow adventure boy!
From there we returned to reception, bumping into a few Geocaching HQ lackeys along the way (!) and collecting some loot . A few more labs were knocked off and then it was on to the road, in search of TREASURE.
Our main target was the Whittlesea Compass series, which we knocked off the majority of before I had to depart for other social commitments. May have to return another day to finish the job. There was a very solid mix of types collected today, with Wherigos, a CITO, a locationless (signal!) and a few other varieties as well.
All in all a very solid day on the geocaching trail, with a very good haul of swag and cache finds (and no DNFs!). Thanks to all the COs for their placements, puzzle/gadget creations, and all the effort that goes into keeping the heart of this game beating strongly.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

The mega weekend has finally arrived, some puzzles solved and off I go in the company of bogonghazy and geo the wonder pup. Thanks to all the CO's that made this day so enjoyable and also to all the hard working volunteers at the mega who have done a fantastic effort for our enjoyment.
A day trip down the highway from Bacchus Marsh to the mega with Sorceysal and Geo the puppy had us catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. This was a quick find with perfect coords and great to see an ammo can. Thanks for placing.
We noticed this traditional cache while we were visiting the reservoir parkland. A generously sized cache container that was easily found. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
Jumped over the ditch from NZ with KNCN we're both pretty chuffed on attending the Mega here. A couple of days early to pick up a few solved caches before the event.
A diversion from the puzzles for this one. Chuffed to find the cache container, they keep all contents nice n dry. Fave-ing tftc

We were in the area to work on the newly placed multi and just happened to pass this trad on our short walk. There were some guys sitting on the seats listening to music so we left it until we were on our way back down to the car. The nice container was spotted and the logbook signed.
Thanks amygvsl for the placement.

After completing the multi-cache at the Black Saturday Memorial, we returned back to the car via this traditional cache!
Was quite amazed to see the type of container / hide here! Really special to be able to find such a high quality cache in a spot like this!
