NZ_B and I are on a road trip to the Geo Toroa Mega and back. I'm also aiming for a multi every day, so it is now titled the "Mega Multi Road Trip." Today is Day 14 from Christchurch to Blenheim. This is one we found on our journey today. Big thank you to the CO for replacing. After all of our adventures here, both with the puzzle, finding bullets (other side of garden) and heading to the police station to hand them in, then returning just in case we could find it. Therefore, having returned to Christchurch last night, this was up first on our hit list for today. Loved the puzzle (we did it the old-fashioned way) and so fantastic to make the find today without looking suspicious at all. A FAV for all the fun. It's nice to have a trip where, alongside targeted caches, we also take time to find one's on a whim or ones that take a bit longer. We have all day and the caches are calling...

26-Oct-24
I headed out today to check on this one. Sure enough, it seems to have gone walkies...I replaced it with another container, and added to the hint.Let's hope this one lasts longer!

NZ_B and I are on a road trip to the Geo Toroa Mega. I'm also hoping to get a multi everyday, so it is now titled the "Mega Multi Road Trip". Today is Day 3 and our second day in Christchurch. This cache was one we really wanted to get after committing to the puzzle solve. Well after trying all the obvious spots and then trying again, three more times, we started trying less obvious spots. Where we found an old small camera bag. On opening it, we found shotgun shot cartridges. Resulting in a trip down to the central police station, putting an end to our search. Funningly enough later in the day we came back hoping for one last try with a bit of help from a past finder, to no avail. We will be back in a week so will keep a very close eye on this one. Thanks for the fun!

22-Oct-24
We came back and checked the area again after a chat with a previous finder. Still could find the container.

Itchyfeet2020 and I are heading towards the mega and are having a few days in Chch. We enjoyed solving this one together and waking up at different times during the evening. It is one of the caches high on our targeted list for us to find. At GZ today we have had a thorough look and read logs just to confirm we were doing the right thing. Unfortunately, we cannot find the container and think it is missing.

I saw this not long after moving down, and had a good grasp upon first looking at the puzzle, what was going on.I used a bit of wget magic here, to get everything required.. Now how to get some numbers... with that also complete, it was just a case of waiting for a mystery dot day. Quite a few went by... but that's fine. Walked along to GZ on an evening walk and located the cache... signed, then covered it up a bit better. Thanks for the fun puzzle! +FP for effort and doing something different.TFTC 8ManAfter and Hyliston, the cache was found in good order Very Happy Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 1 today, making this find #4636

Looked at this puzzle quite some time ago, collected and collated a lot of info, but didn't have enough to find the critical numbers. Excruciating to read logs from people who just "wrote a script"! But time goes on, and one of the effects is that you're up more often during the night than you used to be... So when we were on holiday in Auckland recently, decided to put that situation to good use and picked up the phone and downloaded the picture each time. Added that info to the earlier tracing, and had a manageable number of possibilities. The first mapped to someone's backyard, the second looked perfect. Drove past after visiting the Botanic Gardens, walked along, yes!

Patience - you are not kidding! Several screenshots over a very long, long period and some tracing paper finally got me over the line here. However, I was rewarded with a super quick find as the cache was completely exposed. I have tried to cover it with the natural camo that was available. Very peaceful wee spot this morning. Turned out to be my last find as I was here primarily to spend some time with a friend down having treatment for several weeks but I have had more DNFs today than finds which also takes a little patience! Found on a bike ride with ivss_xx and sennirak. We had some clue to the general area of the cache but not an exact coordinate. It was really a matter of boxing it in using the T rating and some sort of prominent feature.

Well well well. This was the second mystery for today that was in my "I know the area, but not the coordinates" basket.
This one, of course, has no checker and no hint, in a classic 8ManAfter move. Did that stop us? No, of course not. Search and you will find!

I don't often do this, but I got to say, I probably enjoy the detective/luck/exclusion method for finding some mystery caches more than I would actually solving the puzzle! Very Happy
I asked a hint about the task, and got to say, it's real clever! I did correctly guess what I was looking at but I just couldn't click for the "Patience" part.

Kia ora! Paldies!

Went to watch my grandson play Hockey on the way home paddle chick and i stopped to grab this Mystery cache nice easy find. Thanks 8ManAfter and Hylistonfor

I solved most of the puzzle over a wet weekend but did have to set a couple of alarms to pick up the remaining bits of the puzzle. I needed to get a mystery today for a challenge cache so stopped by with Nanzie and Sir Belac for a quick find after watching SB's school hockey game at Numweek. Thanks for a clever puzzle 8ManAfter and Hyliston

Like the previous finder I solved this the old-fashioned way - screen shots then tracing on baking paper! A great little puzzle and good fun also. Solved a while back so good to see it is still active. We were in the neighbourhood on other errands and it was a quick find. TFTC 8manafter.

So happy to finally be able to find this cache. Can't confess to how many times we started and 20 or so days then forget a day and start again. Left computer running for days with no screen saver so every time walked past I could spot if it changed. Many sheets of baking paper tracing later we have something we can read. Wow what a clever challenge and obviously we are not computer savy to write a programme. Very chuffed to solve this the old-fashioned method. Thanks for the puzzle and cache 8ManAfter.

I remember solving this one, it was during a time that I had a back injury and I was unable to go to work so it was an ideal time to stay up all hours tracking this puzzle. Piece by piece I put it all together and eventually had some coordinates worthy of searching. I wish I had the skills to create what ever it is that some people have created to solve this type of puzzle, but as I don't it is just a matter of patience and I eventually get them sorted.

We had some spare time this morning so we thought we would have a look for this one. There was someone near gz and we didn't want to bring too much attention to ourselves, we had a look at where we thought was an obvious place but could not spot it.

So as to not draw attention to ourselves I contacted a previous finder, turns out my fat fingers pushed one of the numbers in wrong so we were not searching in the right place. A quick change of venue and we started looking for the cache.
Initially we did not find it as we thought it was somewhere different than where it turned out to be, in the end it was a nice quick find.

Thanks for this clever puzzle and thank you for the smiley

After a few days looking at this puzzle, we realised we would need a more rigorous approach. One of us had the skills to develop a script and there it was, all the pieces of the puzzle allowed us for green tick. Today, for our daily cache, we decided to go on a bile ride. We stopped at GZ and found it. It is an easy hide, you just have to be looking rather than playing around, like a little geocacher did. Both container and logbook were in good condition. Thanks for this great puzzle, it was fun to solve!

Headed up to Christchurch on Boxing Day for a 3-4 night caching trip, have to be grateful that despite overseas travel plans scrapped for now, we can still move around our beautiful country. Chatting to friends and family overseas, I feel very blessed and want to make the most of our earned freedom. I find caching is a great way to unwind and allow me to recharge ahead of the marathon which will be 2021.

I decided that my plans to go to Quail Island were not going to happen today, so I decided to follow where some adventure labs would lead and boy did I end up at some amaxing places I would not have gone to or visited otherwise. One of the main reasons I love this game.

Thank you to all of the cache owners for the caches enroute.

A fun puzzle and I wasn't too far away from this one so thought come and get it. All good here.

* 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* All the 20s and now 21 as well!

Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

We collected the first 23 images slowly (though not always conscientiously) by the patient methods over a period of 2 months. Growing a bit tired of repeatedly getting the same images over and over (no doubt generated by random numbers) , we then followed the example of others and wrote a script that did the job for us, getting the final 2 images within 24 hours. Today we finally had some time to collect the cache. A quick find. TFTC!

**Found on our February - March tour around the South Island. Logging back home in Auckland in Lockdown isolation**

We started the day at Sawyers Arms and then spent most of the day caching around the south west of Christchurch.
One of us had a piece of clear plastic hanging over her computer screen for several days as we patiently collected all the bits of information needed to solve this puzzle. Luckily the find took nowhere near as long this afternoon. Thanks.

Saw this cache a while ago while surfing around CHC caches looking for puzzles to solve and really liked the look of it. I knew that it would take sometime to solve this one and just happened to be on night-shift at the time which allowed me to do it over several days, much quicker that I suspect it would otherwise take.

I have a large amount of puzzles in find in CHC, unfortunately with no time to grab them this trip however this was on the list because I enjoyed the solve so much. No problems with the find, FP added for the puzzle. TFTC.

That was fun! Saw a query on FB, and got curious. Had a couple of looks at the obvious, and decided some code was in order. Then a quick diversion on the way home for an easy find. I'm curious as to whether the aqua colour was significant, a diversion, or a bug... Thanks.

One of the many puzzles solved in anticipation of our trip to Christchurch. Realizing what was involved with this one, decided that a more 'programmatic' approach was needed and Mr All7ofusNZ set up a system to collect the required information. With all the components collected the final coordinates emerged and they happened to be quite close to where one of the Jr. Cachers was staying this week with his hockey team. A quick find in the dark this evening having dropped the Jr. Cacher back to his accommodation. Thanks for the puzzle.

Today is a low number day and I wanted to find a geocache today. I noticed that this container had recently been replaced. It took ages to solve this puzzle but did so with my pal JudEs help. I wanted to make sure I found it, in case it goes missing again.

Thanks. 8ManAfter and Hyliston for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 6022 for me.

Thanks, 8ManAfter for replacing this cache. Thoroughly enjoyed the puzzle after finding a way to solve it. The word evil comes to mind, and clever! Open home nearby today so lucked in with it just finishing as I got there. Quick find after that. Thanks for the puzzle and cache. #3118

Replaced the missing cache today. All good now!

A lot of work solving the puzzle so disappointed not to find the cache after a thorough search. Perhaps it has gone or I'm visually impaired.

07-May-18
This wee series is many and varied it seems. Waited GZ out for muggles both human and dog, then dived into the log. Forgot pen so have a photolog if required by CO. Cheers!

03-Dec-17
What a great puzzle involving a number of sleepless nights work Red Face. It was surprising how much information was required to be gathered to be certain of the final outcome. Today I had the opportunity of a short bike ride to make the find and complete the paperwork. Thanks to 8ManAfter and Hyliston for a very clever puzzle which will get a Favourite when I've got another to give out Big Grin.

29-Aug-17
I'm supposed to be collecting solved puzzles in my to be found list, not solving and finding new ones! I was waiting for daughter dearest who was hanging out at Westfield Mall, though, and given the choice of doing the same or walking in the sun... Wink
Waited for the muggles to look away and signed the log, then waited for more muggle to go and returned the cache.
TFTC Cool

I don't have the technical knowledge of some cachers so I started to solve this one by hand. I got quite a long way with it before getting stuck and so, as my patience was running out, I contacted a previous finder to push me over the line.
The cache was a quick find. A lovely spot for the hide too. TFTC.

20-Aug-17
Out and about for half a day of caching with daughter and found this one on the way. I parked up across the road and jumped out. Found the container quickly, and was waiting for a dogwalker who came close as I was signing the log to go past - when the dog decided to go about 3m away. Awkward! I was pretending to be texting madly on the gps, and hoping they'd be gone sooner rather then later... The longest few minutes of today for sure! TFTC!!

31-Jul-17
I quickly cottoned onto how to solve this cache mystery but I found my patience was more than somewhat s t r e t c h e d in achieving the final coords. Made this the last of my two caching targets during today's cyclocache ride into the city from Regents Park. TFTC.

29-Jul-17
Patience indeed is required. Or rather, after seeing what was needed doing, letting the tech do the job and check the result. Nice one, I think possibly the only ONTE I've solved thus far. Cheers

28-Jul-17
Dropped daughter off at school and had some time to kill before a meeting, so hi how hi how a caching I will go. Had a look at my PQ's and had this solved and uploaded ready to find, arrived at the gz and there was some workman nearby, as it was nearing 1030 I thought I'd stick around as I reckon there break was coming due, sure enough down tools and off they went leaving me free access to search, a quick find and opened up with a number of goodies inside, even an R2D2 fob so took that and left a mini light. Good to see a few other bits and bobs in it. Replaced as found..
Thank you for bringing me to this area 8ManAfter and Hyliston for placing and maintaining OTNE: Patience (Canterbury) geocache, from Mr Cuddly Brick Found on this wet but yet awesome day the 28 July 2017, sweet cache number # 1715 view and subscribe to Mr Cuddly Bricks Geocaching adventures channel at

My grandmother always used to tell me

"Patience is a virtue, possess it if you can
Always found in women, seldom found in man"

In this case I found some patience and got there. Quick easy find on site during an alternate lunch time walk after trying to replace one of my caches unsuccessfully.

Thanks for the effort put into the puzzle and cache.

No rain, not too much wind, and baby was due for a nap, so perfect time to go out caching with the baby! Plus these new caches near New Brighton had been tempting me for a while!!

I ended up managing to do 11 caches!! Wow!! Impressive for baby caching!

After getting the PnGs in New Brighton, baby was still sleeping, so decided to make the most of it, and go to the other side of town - if baby was still sleeping, I could get some more Pn Gs there, and if not, a walk around Hagley - turns out it was walk time.

After the walk, decided on a few more, if she was patient enough - turns out, not so much, but I still managed to get the caches! Haha! - Ironic for this cache given the name Razz

TFTC!! Smile

Had some good coordinates early on, but not as quickly as the dynamic duo. A nice quick find, though the were lots of dirty boarder rugby players wandering home for the showers. Cheers

Thanks to all of the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

#14237. I needed a couple of finds today to turn an 11-find day into a 13-find day. This one was an obvious candidate as Troodles found it yesterday. Computers are much better at being patient than people, so I wrote a wee program to be patient on my behalf, and it had no trouble in gathering the remaining info needed. Cache was a quick find on a nice sunny afternoon. TFTC.

A joint solve with StreetWalkerNZ - he advised on a few features of paint.net that came in very handy plus he wrote a wee program to capture some of the data Wink. I put it all together and came up with some very good looking co-ords - literally on the way to work.
Had arranged with SW to go out at lunch time to find the cache together, but when the FTF log came through, decided to leave the find for a calendar day instead.
Today was the day, and stopped by en route to work. A quick find, but as I returned to the car, noticed that there was someone sitting in a parked car with direct view of GZ. Ooops. Hope he didn't investigate what I was up to and muggle the container.
Thanks for the puzzle, 8ManAfter and the convenient location of the cache Smile

I didn't get a chance to have a look at this puzzle straight away, and when I saw it, I knew exactly what I had to do, but just not how long it would take to get the coordinates. Quickly got half the puzzle solved, and managed to get the remaining parts solved over the following few days. Bit of a tiring puzzle to solve. GZ was only a few minutes from work, so I popped out at lunchtime today to make the find. Thanks for the puzzle, and the cache.

I teamed up with TG on this one. He had a hand method and was getting some shakey numbers. I tried playing with the images in GIMP and got some pretty good looking numbers between the two of us we were able to come up with something. I even went out on a whim of a possible GZ earlier in the day. That was a wild goose chase. TG came over to grab me for our Mad Mission Monday and we headed out into the cold. Our numbers were incomplete but we narrowed it down to a couple of possible GZs. Our first one was a dud and we waited for some more information. Hmm, we sat in TG's wagon and relooked at our numbers... what if... we came up with some solid numbers and gapped it to the new GZ. After a minute TG grabbed the cache {FTF} for us. The night was young so we stopped by COs armed with beer and chips and also to drop off his gloves. Doh, we arrived at COs house with only one glove. We grabbed CO in his slippers and went out to track down the slippers! It was at the last place we visited that evening. Good fun and great puzzle. Fav from me.

Thanks for the cache 8ManAfter.

**FTF** 810pm with TheWanglers
On spotting the new publication I was fairly certain of what was required.....a bit naff as I'm not inherently patient (especially when it comes to caching! LOL). Anyhoo; I set too with, in hindsight, not the best approach (pen and paper!)....but it sufficed.....but in the morning the short comings became clear so I started a 'new' method....oops.....ahhh, well. Hmmm. Not sure if this was much better but continued through the day. Made contact with TW and he was a bit behind but he had an awesome method. Hmm. Ah well. With one thing and another we haven't had a Mad Monday Mission in quite a while so we decided we just HAD to head out tonight for some fresh air. Met up and tried to piece our bits together - I had the lions share but I still thought I was missing some; and my pen and paper method was quickly showing its shortcomings!... so we plotted 'best bets' on google maps and came up with a not promising but ok looking GZ.....we headed out to have a look whilst we waited for another installment. Pulling up to our "best but not likely GZ" it was indeed crap. Hmmmm. The next installment arrived and it appeared deja vu...which made us reassess my bits of paper.... now we knew that we weren't missing anything, we had it all. A relook, some realigning, and a fiddle twiddle and a better GZ came to light. YUS. Tootled around and made the quick find and sign.
After the find and sign and with not much else planned we contacted the CO to see if he was up for some visitors.....popped around for a lovely evening of chitter chatter Smile
