Was in the first place we looked but found it the second time we went back. Wasp nest is still there
PB1973 I found your cache Ron Smith on 31/7/2023, 11:10 am. This is my find 5918 and find # 6 today. A quick and easy drive by. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Quick little cache finding session while my son has a flying lesson at Kybong. Nice cache with some beautiful views.
Driving around Gympie for the next few weeks for work on some nearby construction sites. Came to find this one on a day off. Quick and easy find, Thanks for the hide all looks to be in good working condition.
Needed something in the LGA where I wasn’t going to have a car accident. Had something planned but changed that. The roads are so busy in Gympie! Oh my. So off to a bush cache. Enjoyed the dirt road in my little car! Interesting soil around here. Arrived at GZ and thought that this was going to take forever to find but it wasn’t an issue at all.. thankfully!
Thank you PB1973 for placing this cache for me to enjoy!

Well, finally the weather has decided it will allow us a few days of dry camping (not totally dry, there WILL be a few lagers involved! ).
Our target area is Gympie and a few rural spots northwest.
Poked around a bit but it was again Mrs VC who quickly came up with the cache.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

The gz (or nearby rather) for this cache was quite the adventure, and will be remembered for a long time to come.
Riding the bicycles from pomona to gympie via all the backroads/firetrails we could find as an alternative to well, .. illegally riding on the bruce highway. (We really need a dedicated bike lane alongside highways in australia)
After an epic ride that couldn't easily be backtracked on and quickly hauling our bikes over the rail line itself, we arrived at a locked gate (thanks QR) right near this bridge.
Unhooking the saddlebags and shimmying the bikes under the gate, i looked up to see the bridge in question.
Impressive in the middle of nowhere. A sad story of ron, although i'm heartened you created a cache here as a kind of tribute to the fellow.
Thanks powellbruce for hiding a geocache out here for us to find.
Sorry for the late log.

Found at 10:45 AM GAFF5 in the company of Liz and Bruce, Snakepitters and Team JLBL.
Pleasant driving around these roads and exploring new areas.
We learnt how this bridge got its name - which is a huge tragedy!
Thanks PB1973

Catching up on some logging today, so a bit of a generic log, I'm afraid.
I was caching with Snickersallan, Patrol14, hatzofff, E Smiley, grannysmith1947, and TMZ 59, giving rise to the team name of SPREGTH. Although not fully operative yet, I was able to tag along to most of the caches we found. Some Events brought us into this area.
Nice quick find. I knew another Ron Smith, but his life was not as tragic as this one's
Log signed and cache replaced as found on May 2nd 2021. TFTC, PB1973.

Poor Ron. It's sad to lose so much just going to work. This is a good way of him continuing to be acknowledged. Tftc powellbruce
I continued on from the rusty relic cache and it wasn't long and I found myself parked up and heading for GZ. Once at GZ it was a quick find.
Once the log was signed all was returned as found.
Sad way toi get something names after yourself.

Good hide jet cats and jet dogs we a making t shirts and other stuff get our stuff
I had driven past this cache back in May, but had not stopped as there were road works going on. Today, there were no road works, so I found a safe place to stop and took a short walk to GZ. There, I located the cache very quickly and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had been unloved for some time. That will help towards a challenge that I am working towards! With my name added tot he log and the cache returned to its spot, I continued on my way. TFTC
So sad that someone had to die when the bridge was built.
Pretty impressive bridge and love the colour of the rocks up the wall.
A nice quick find.
Signed the log and returned to where I found it.

Had a couple of TB's that needed dropping off, thought I'd drop them here.

On our way from Nanango to Bundaberg for 5 days. Worth the detour to Gympie to grab 4. Then to Maryborough for one then to Hervey Bay for 5 then to Bargara.
This was no 3 on our list for today. Arrived very close to this one. Parked safe. Good hide. Did not take long to find. No traffic around whilst we were here but two trains past over us. Good Hide. Signed log YOF as that is what I use on micro and small log sheets to conserve space on the paper. TFTC powellbruce
