It was a windy, overcast and humid Sunday afternoon. I set out to collect a few more along the 'Treasure Island' trail from Rhyll. By the time I got to here, I was not having a good success rate, and this made it worse! Based on the d-rating, I confess I expected it to be under the boardwalk somewhere, but if it is, I couldn't find it. I did find the bones of a critter, which may have been the one referenced by a previous logger, as it was in approximately the right spot. No sign of a cache. The hint seemed a little ambiguous too, so I searched all along the boardwalk. I hesitate to say that, just because I couldn't find it, it's missing, but if it's not missing, it was hidden too well for me... (or I need to get on a different wavelength).
This was the last one of this series for us and we had done pretty well. We weren't about to DNF this one without a fight.
After about 30 minutes, we felt that we had looked everywhere and reluctantly had to call it quits.
Maybe another day.
Thanks for placing this series Gonefishen07.
Chiefton!!!

Having arrived on the island yesterday evening we took a look at the map and decided to hike the Treasure Island - Rhyll geo-trails. We had a thoroughly enjoyable walk, did some good bird watching along the way, and of course had great fun finding lots of geocaches, many of them well camouflaged and cleverly hidden - and so many thanks to the CO for having provided us with the opportunity for another great day out geocaching. Once in the Ground Zero area it didn’t take long before we had located this nice sized cache. We signed the log book and then replaced as found but not before having dropped off the Julius 10 years Travel Bug. Thanks so much for the cache (where we saw three Skinks and a Swamp Wallaby!) and greetings from Zimbabwe
Beautiful morning stroll along the trail, cache in great condition, stamped log thanks Gonefishen for the cache.
We were holidaying at Cape Woolamai with the geobeagles. We decided to have lunch in Rhyll today and then look for a few caches while we were here. We parked in the nearby parking area at the end of McIlwraith Rd and then noticed the sign saying that dogs weren't allowed on this side of McIlwraith Rd as it was a conservation area. So my friend took the beagles for walkies along the trail on the other side of McIlwraith Rd, where dogs were allowed, while I followed the trail to GZ. I reached the boardwalk and was enjoying the views so much that I overshot GZ. I doubled back to GZ and after a brief search I found the cache and signed the log at 4:40 pm. I took a VW Golf TB that was in the cache and left a penguin to be with the other penguins on Phillip Island. I then headed back to the car to meet up with the others.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for the good hide, the nice size cache and for showing me this beautiful location with awesome coastal views.

First road trip caching in a while, but a caching day tho a little windy and chilly but sun came out later on.
Out with the kids 12 and 14 (yeah they wanted to come but somewhat not as excited at the treasure in the caches).... but still happy to come (if not e every day), and Pooch who l bet if could talk would say "Best day ever.. humans"... she will sleep well tonight and have puppy dreams of her adventures, sights and oh the smells...
Had to leave Master 14 with the pooch at the carpark as no dogs, but soon had cache in hand and log signed and now to walk back to car.
Thanks Gonefishen for awesome caches again.. we love the ones where we can get out for a walk.

This was a perfect place to enjoy a walk and a few caches today. It was great to get out in the sunshine and fresh air. The track was quiet and we enjoyed some great quality caches.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.

A good quick find in a beautiful area. Log signed and all back safe again.
Thanks for all these caches and the thought process.

After a few days on the island today was our last So early this morning me and my geoboy went for a bike ride along this beautiful pathway. The weather was perfect, the caches were fun, and we had a great time exploring the island. My son is a little impatient when the more difficult caches dont reveal themselves easily, so we had to move on with some of the more difficult ones - I will return at a later date to have a more thorough search for the ones we missed today.
A nice container here, geoboy was excited about the loot in here so we did some swaps. We are having a blast and loving the series, TFTC!

Visiting Philip Island from Mt Eliza for the weekend with a couple of friends - non cachers so our caching time was limited. Can see this is a lovely location and interesting tail so will have make an attempt to return with some fellow cachers. TFTC.
This was a nice stroll along the boardwalk on a beautiful day. A short search later, and a nice size container was found.
Thanks so much Gonefishen07

Out on a nice walk with Geo wife. Saw some wildlife along the way. This was a quick find. TFTC

Back at the start of my journey, I thought this was at the other end of the boardwalk, and well I just couldn't be bother to turn the bike about, so collection on the way back was deemed. A much bigger cache than expected, and for its reward my last TB.
After looking in the wrong spot for a while, we decided to look in a different area and the cache was soon found by the geodad. Nice size container. All in good condition. TFTC
After our arrival in Melbourne we drove directly down to Philipp Island, our first stop in Victoria. Here we looked and found some boxes before we were heading to the Penguin Parade. Thanks to the co‘s for placing and maintaining the caches. Found and logged together with GPS-Wickie, Mikaching and Swerik.
Today we started our journey with a flight from Sydney to Melbourne. Watching the news it was perfect timing, because Sydney was hit by heavy rain, thunder and lightning the same night.
For our accommodation here on the island we had chosen the Ramada Restort. It was a good spot for starting our different adventures. Already on our way to the resort we started to stop for a couple of caches. Later we took a nice walk and continued to find caches in the area. We finished our day to attend the attraction of the island, the penguine parade.

During my vacation in Australia I still had the Koala Conservation Center and the penguins as highlights on my list. Besides, I dedicated myself to the existing caches. In particular, the Treasure Island Trail stood out. Some boxes were easy to find, others took longer.

We, (jsson, peter-tvm, Sivun and myself) went for a walk on Philip island today. We logged as IJPS.
At start it was fine weather but it turned into rain showers when we had to walk back to the car. In total a great 15km walk.
Thanks for placing a cache for me to enjoy and find.

Again the GPS was a few metres out and the search probably took longer than it should have. But we found it in the end, signed the log and collected a TB. TFTC
Caching walk #1 today (from Rhyll to Conservation Hill) for lochb, G&J of GJMMelb and I, this one was a quick find for me thanks to the hint - the others over-shot the mark a little (which is usually my trick ) TFTC
Due to the Mega being in Melbourne we (GJMMelb, quiet1_au and lochb) decided we needed a caching weekend away somewhere and Phillip Island really fit the bill. We decided that today we better set off a bit earlier than yesterday if we wanted to get some decent numbers and so we parked one car at Conservation Hill and the other at Rhyll. This was next and was a bit out on our gps but q1 soon had the cache in hand. We may have used a sticker or signed the log before remembering to get a sticker out.

Should have been the first but was the last. Somehow we missed this one at the start of the walk.
We arrived to do this trail yesterday however were turned back by the signs indicating that four legged geocachers were not allowed. Today, with one member less we returned and set out. Thank you for this trail. The path is a delightful walk which we enjoyed immensely.

The rain had now passed and it was blue sky again so we drove around to this end of the trail and walked the last 3.
I headed out today with biggles1024 for a trip down to Phillip Island, it has been a while since we have been down this way and there are so many more caches to find now since the last time.
This series was one of the main targets today, the trails are great for an enjoyable bike ride even though we didn't make it back to the car before the rain came down.
There are some very nice and tricky hides along this trail, even though we were onto most of them fairly quickly.
**Thanks to Gonefishen07 for placing this cache.**

**Find #3194**
**Traditional Cache Find #2195**
I headed down to Philip Island with SteMicMitSar for out longest caching run for quite some time. This series was our main focus. A power trail of mostly micros could result in an enjoyable bike ride with lots of finds or an exercise in frustration. Fortunately, with the exception of one DNF, we had a very enjoyable ride even though we got caught in a rain shower as we cycled back to Steve's car, but eventually our clothes dried.

A nice find here of a well cared for cache.
Decided it was right to drop a TB in.
Signed and replaced.
Can't log the TB as being dropped here as the next finder didn't wait for me to log the cache and "grabbed" the Tb from my inventory.
I have messaged the finder but no reply as of yet.
Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
The caches I’ve found in Australia so far have for the most part all been in great condition. Keep up the good work.

Windy, wet winter's day but ideal to start the Rhyll Inlet series. Looking forward to returning to complete the series
Enjoyed the variety of caches and hides. Most found in good condition (with the occasional wet log)
Many thanx to Gonefishen 07. Apologies for the generic logs which I mostly try to avoid

Suscoe and Bregan headed out this morning to collect a few caches prior to visiting the koalas at the conservation park.
It was a cool morning with a bit of cloud and the occasional skiff of drizzle.
But what a delightful morning for a walk along this track.
The tide was out and there were a few black swans about as well as a range of other birds that we were not sure of.

Day 7 of our caravan trip going South from Queensland. Been to Culcairn, NSW, where I was born.
Now arrived in Cowes, Phillip Island. Watching penguins, seals and caching.

Continuing on our adventure after attending the Alexandra Mega Event, we found ourselves spending a few days on Phillip Island. While we tried to take advantage of the many great places to see on the island, we were pre-occupied with trying to complete the qualifying requirements for a particular challenge cache we had signed in Ballarat prior to the Surf Coast Mega Event last year. It really does pay to check the finer details of a challenge cache before you decide to look for it We had thought you needed to have found 100 caches in Victoria, but it was only when we came to log it that we realised the 100 caches in Victoria had to have been placed by the same cache owner
Anyway, initially we thought we would complete the challenge by doing the Mt Disappointment caches, but then friends who knew we were heading to Phillip Island told us we would easily qualify for the challenge there, and they would be much more interesting caches Well they were quite interesting, and some of them were downright sneaky
In the end, we had an enjoyable couple of days exploring Phillip Island and finding a variety of cache hides, with some great walks along some of the beaches and other places
Thank you Gonefishen07 for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

After a short search we came up the goods great to see some bigger containers floating around now tftc
Found it! Managed to spot this one without trampling the vegetation. Nice weather proof container! Certainly needed on a day like today! TFTC SL Spotted a TB here but left it for someone else. Better get moving to keep up!
Found with ICW. I have been walking these tracks birdwatching for many years and it was great to have an excuse for another visit. I dropped off a trackable. Thank you for a generous sized container.
I walk or ride my mountain bike every time we come to the treasure island along this path - great views of the Rhyll and the silver leaves peninsula. Quick find. Forgot a token so next time I pass will drop off some and visit the cache. TFTC
Was at work when this new lot of caches was published, then had to go to Koo Wee Rup for Scouts...drat. The FTFs were still there when we got home late last night. Too tired. Woke this morning and the FTFs were still there!!! It was meant to be. Raced over before frmen1 had to go to work. A quick walk that disturbed a few wallabies. In fact, the place was overrun by them. A quick find with spot on co-ords and a blank log book. Yippee! Thanks to the CO and friends for continuing the trip around the Island. TFTC
Ok, I know I should have got at least one of these new Treasure Island series caches as a First to find, but we got home in the dark last night before I realised these had been published, I'm coming down with a Dreaded Lurgie and had to help run the World Wide Knitting in Public day event in Cowes this morning. I had hoped there'd be at least one still available for me to get this afternoon. No luck. Never mind, it now means I've got a few more local caches to find for continuing a streak. So that's wonderful. Thanks for providing me that opportunity Gonefishen.
