Tankengine, Youban and I left Canberra just after lunchtime on Friday and drove straight to Bathurst. We had solved many of the puzzles or at least started the solves before coming. We were looking forward to finding many smilies this weekend and hanging out with our friends. We met up with our friends and signed caches as CBI24 (Canberra Bathurst Invasion 2024). The group included Fitzy_1965, Minniek, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, GLISS!, Tankengine, Youban, Contesta, Domsky, TikvaNZ, Isopeada, Barb2e, and SmittenGranny. We had an awesome dinner at the Kelso Hotel Bistro Friday night. And attended the ever changing event on Saturday night at The Reckless Brewery Co. Breakfast was at a couple of cafes that were all good and lunches wherever we could find it. Our little cabin at the NRMA Paramount caravan park, where there was just enough space for all three of us (just). We slept ok, but the leaky taps needed attention. We had an awesome time and would love another chance to visit Bathurst again another day. This cache: Nice quick one here. Tftc!!!
Bathurst TripFound with Joolay, FurfacesLL, Gliss, contesta and the gang on a drive to Bathurst for a weekend of caching. Caches signed as CBI24 (Canberra Bathurst Invasion 24). TikvaNZ made a quick find here. Thanks for the hide Apsley168
Oooh this one had me concentrating hard as I certainly didn't want to drop it. I wasn't feeling over confident, but the cache was retrieved and returned without any mishaps. Today, a group from Canberra (and some from surrounding areas) are in Bathurst for the next in our Invasion series. We were last here 4 years ago, but there are plenty more caches these days. This years group includes barb2e, Isopeda, Youban, DTY, Tankengine, Kittykatch, Joolay, GLISS!, domskys, FurfacesLL, TikvaNZ, minniek, fitzy_1965, Contesta and myself. All caches found were signed as CBI24 standing for Canberra Invasion of Bathurst in 2024. We had quite a long list of caches that we hoped to find over the weekend, and it is pleasing to note that most of us found all on our own list for today except one that looks as if it has fallen victim to The Winter Festival. After collecting a few in town, the main group concentrated on Peel Reserve in the morning, while others, including me, Youban, and barb2e, followed our own agendas. Huge thanks to all cache owners for the great hides and puzzles that I encountered today. I had a thoroughly enjoyable day, which has left me somewhat weary, so please excuse the generic logs. This was one of the caches that I found and signed.

Chooo ooo [Found] on a caching invasion of Bathurst! Log signed CBI24!Thanks Apsley168!
A weekend of fun with a group of Canberra cachers. The weather was beautiful, cold and clear with little wind and it was a perfect day to be out walking and exploring and enjoying a winter weekend in Bathurst. We signed the logs as CBI24 ( Canberra-Bathurst Invasion 2024)Thanks for all the adventures and efforts to create some fun hides for the Geocaching community. Domsky
Find # 123966/7/2024 12:59Caching adventures continue, plans were hatched, word got around, and with some trustee like-minded souls we assembled at the cemetery start line - KittyKatch, Joolay, fitzy_65, mimmiek, TikvaNZ, isopeda, dty73, FurfacesLL, domsky, Youvan, Barb2e, Tankengine. Signing CBI24 for Canberra Bathurst Invasion Always shenanigans in a group as you never quite know what might happen but its guaranteed to be fun!All caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks Apsley168 for Don't Drop It Again
I have tried this three times before. Today Kimmy and I brought a muggle friend with us who actually found the cache! Very happy to turn a DNF into a smiling face!! TfTC
I searched for this cache, but could not find it. I decided to return later in the day when it was not so hot. At the shopping center I was spied looking at the geocaching app by local cachers Maaclan, and we chatted about the caches in the area. They gave me a tip for this one, so I returned and found the cache immediately.
Found it! Took a little while and just as we were about to call it since the navigation for me kept changing finally took one look and found it. Great hiding spot just need to open your eyes but also found a friend!
A few days away in Orange, visits to wineries and some Geocaching. An ideal mix of activities for the Atalantas. On our way back we stopped in Bathurst and did some caching to stretch the legs.
This cache was third on our list. We thought it should have been described as a nano.

After a string of DNF for one reason or another nice to find a cache , good coords and an easy find. Nice area with a little water fall happening
This one took longer to find than it should have….searching in all the wrong places first didn’t help of course. TFTC
Great hide. Took a little while to find, but the terrain rating kept me in check. Co-ords were great once the GPS settled down. TFTC
This cache DOES NOT need maintenance.
It’s still there and the coordinates are spot on.
You just need to look a bit harder!

I have no doubt it is there, I just couldn’t find it today. Terrain one ratings mean it is accessible from a wheelchair, is that the case here?
Last day of our "Dayboro Plan B" trip. mtrax & myself, having decided to ditch the mega came up with a last minute re-route using some of the accommodation we'd already booked and find some interesting caches. To this end we were very selective and only chose caches with sufficient FPs along the route. Today we are heading home, leaving Bathurst and heading down south via the AL on Mt Panaorama. Warm clear conditions again today, unlike north of the border
Didn't find this one. Two of us searched for ages here. Either it's missing or the D/T rating needs revision.
Thanks anyway Apsley168

Had a good lookbut couldn't turn this one up. Didn't like the idea of going under the bridge as it looked a bit treacherous. So will leave this for now.
We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Bathurst for a 9 day holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback Camper Trailer at the Bathurst NRMA Big4 Caravan Park, and plan to collect some caches & Adventure Labs in the Bathurst and surrounding areas.
Today we went for a wander around the Bathurst CBD, completing the Adventure Lab and collecting numerous other caches along the way. After returning to camp for lunch and a swim we headed out in the late afternoon for some caching in the Raglan area, which turned out to be a bit of a disaster with 4 DNF's in a row and only 1 find - we should have stayed in the pool! This was the 14th of 15 finds for the day (day 2), and 24th find of the holiday.
I managed to miss it on my first pass, and foolishly went searching in higher terrain places, but the family's chief puzzle solver was more eagle eyed and soon had CIH. Signed the log and then replaced as found. TFTC Apsley168.

Lovely to search with the calming sound of the little creek bubbling along and the frogs after a day of shopping.
Actually quite an easy find if your used to micro magnetics

I viewed this from underneath on both sides, at a distance as recommended by a previous finder and from either end. All to no avail and wasn't able to spot it, seems I am cache-blind today. Perhaps another day.
Thanks anyway Apsley 168 but nice to meet you earlier.

Winter 2020 trip to Bathurst. Day 1. I joined forces with Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK for another visit to Bathurst and the surrounding area to visit new caches and try to find caches we have all managed to not find on previous visits. It was an overwhelmingly successful trip where we all managed to find some nemesis caches that stretch back several years and many trips to the region. Despite the cold we camped each night and had a most enjoyable weekend now we are allowed out to roam a bit further.
I was waiting for some others to pass off the bridge by leaning over the edge of the gully when I saw what I was looking for from afar. I am not sure it would have been as smooth if I went straight onto the bridge.
Thanks for the cache Apsley168

Found in a logical spot, irondale takes the credit for the find while I was scrambling in the dirt TFTC
I've just checked on this and found that it's still in place and waiting to be found.
Over from Perth on work, so while in Bathurst I've spent a bit of time each day grabbing a couple of caches.
Quick drive around town this morning to find a few hides.
Searched here for some time, but alas no joy

Hatzofff and I are in Bathurst for a few weeks house sitting, and of course have time for lots of caching.
But I did drop it! Fortunately it hit my shoe and bounced onto the bridge deck. Phew!

Out with RoddyC while house sitting in Bathurst.
Caching to day will keep us in the Bathurst area.
Quick easy find. Just what we wanted on this dismal day of showers.

A quick morning trip around while at Bathurst for a few days.

Yeah, don’t drop it.
Easy find after searching for 20 minutes for a potential T5. Ha, idiot.
I didn’t know that walkway existed.

Took a bit longer than usual.

A brief weekend trip to Bathurst with fitzy_1965.
Our main aim was to find previous DNF's and a few others along the way.
A quick find here today once the muggles walked passed.

Short overnight camping stay in Bathurst and we took some time for some caches. Parked nearby and once the dogwalkers were out of range we went in for the search. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and headed off to the next one.
Thanks Apsley168 !!

Went out for a short stroll to get emily out of the house and decided to head for this one. we looked all over and under for a while before Kooleen spotted the sneaky hide. All mad a bit more hard as it started to rain! TFTC
We remember this well! What seems simple become quite scary when carried out at height. Thanks for keeping this one alive, Apsley168.
A special day for us with a 90th birthday family lunch coming up but we popped out for a find for International Geocaching Day. Still as scary as before, but it nice to see good caches kept alive. Many thanks Apsley 168.
Our first cache today of our planned cycle around Bathurst. Dan was still energetic and started climbing around in some awkward spots. Then Sue pointed out that it was T1. "Okay, let's look elsewhere." Soon had CIH. TFTC
In Bathurst for a few days with my new partner. I was in the area so decided on a quick grab here. Almost muggled by someone arriving at a nearby business, but he son went inside so I started to search. Found quickly and retreated to sign the log. As others noted, it needs replacing urgently. Replaced and continued about my business. TFTC, Apsley168.
I n the area doing maintenance, so I thought I'd check on this as well. It's still there waiting to be found.
Bathurst Day 2
Being Sunday we thought that in the afternoon we would do a few caches around town, the air conditioned car made life a little more comfortable. This was a nice way to tour the town.
The tension was high after we signed the log, we wer hoping we wern't going to turn it into a D5 cache.
Thanks for placing this cache Apsley168
