I had come to Ballarat for lunch with my sisters at a pub in Black Hill. Although lunch was now over, leaving now would have put me in the worst of the Melbourne peak period... so I went caching instead. I was just randomly driving around chasing up nearby caches when I came across this historical gem. It is wonderful that a small piece of local history have been preserved. Thanks **jenno3** for the cache.
A quick Park and grab on the way back to base for a couple of hours, before the next event Fortunate to make a quick find as the cache is brightly coloured TFTC jenno
Still wandering around on a road trip with Jack and Purrfect Di. Every day is a Caching Day - so off we go again [:o)]Mostly doing the Geotour but had to detour as Di's a Clark ! Did take a bit of circling... Thanks jenno3 for this cache hide and ongoing care and maintenance ---------------- ----------------------In a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and solid caches falling from trees - - - a cache a day keeps us agile... sort of --------Caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp ) Work gets in the way - and some may take longer to log than others due to mixed technology and need for sleep! The skill and talent of some Zenior Zombies helps, and maybe a spot of luck too [:o)]----------Cache carefully and make sure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on Clean as you go and cache the countryside Big thanks to those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas, in nice safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun for all Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!! Maybe not though - as someone actually did read to the end and alerted me to just a project GC badge that requires long logs [:o)] Well at least it's not as bad as finding a mint tin! Did you get that... stop putting out rusty mint tins, just stop it, now!!! C'est fini... For now... ... until tomorrow! Viva Mexicana ! Thanks for the caches beyond the wall [:o)] But there's no place like home! PS:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------GCA1DNA - Great Leap Forward ... or is it backward... it takes an extra day to get to March 29.2.24 The Mega Leap Event of the year. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------And don't forget to put the SA June Long Weekend in your diary for 2024 too... fun and funky finding with a little competition too
Very tricky to find. Just happened to look in right direction at right moment. The bright colour was a great help too.Plums just happen to be ripe - yum.More log to follow
2 for 2 today. I had a feeling this one was gonna be difficult but I found it quickly. TFTC
Our last day in Ballarat , the weather has been a little challenging. A few more geotour caches to do and lots of labs and traditional. Ballarat and the surroundings are a great location to cache. Thanks to all the COs for their placements
Having attended a recent event in Brisbane where a fellow cacher brought my attention to the geo tour in Ballarat and its up coming finish in February, i knew this was something I had to make an effort to get to.I also quickly realised that the attribute for the geo tour is the last one I need to achieve a personal challenge so the planning began. After arriving in Melbourne to delightful weather, I made my way au to Ballarat last night I. Anticipation of a three day caching binge with some local geo art and the geo trail as the key targets for the long weekend.I jumped in The geowagon and ventured off the o soon find a nice parking spot. A short stroll later soon found me at ground zero. It wasnt long before the cache was found and the log signed. I returned the cache to its hiding space and made my way back to the car. Ready to head to the next adventureA big thanks to the cache owners of Ballarat for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Got 5 days off from work so I decided to come to Ballarat and do the Geo Tour before its gone, also grabbing random caches and Adventures labs along my journey. So thanks to all who have placed caches. Sl cache replaced.
Arrived at GZ and thought...here we go, however I surprised myself by spotting the cache rather quickly. Log was signed, cache replaced and I was on my way.
Thanks jenno3...gotta love a quick find...

I tried and failed to find this cache, gave the area a short search only.
Thank you jenno3 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Plenty of laughs and fun were had in Ballarat, catching up with Happy pants and Omegaman1971 for a few days. Our main focus will be the Geo tour, but will take the opportunity to grab any other caches along the way.
This was one of the hides we found and thankfully there were a few sets of eyes.
Thanks for placing this hide and doing the maintenance, so we can make this find.

Found today while in Ballarat as a few days away targeting the Geo Tour and also a few adventure lab caches while we were nearby. This was a neat little trad we stumbled across this morning in our travels around town and was an interesting and touching back story to its placement, will be sure to check out the old shop next time l visit sovereign hill, thanks jenno3 for the hide.

Found with Tyred n Cranky.
A day in Ballarat, on the bikes, riding the creek trail.
Tyred n Cranky still needing a few to make up the 100 finds for this month's "Wheel of Caching" challenge.
The Trail all done, lunch had, now to get some "driving" caches.
How does that rhyme go????
Round n round the bush we go.

Find No. 4145. Found with FUF009 at 2.35pm.
This year, ANZAC Day was spent in Ballarat caching, as we still needed a few finds to complete this months 'Wheel of Caching' Challenge. We took our pushbikes to ride the creek trail, and FUF009 came with us. We also done a few Adventure Labs plus five other caches to make our numbers up.
With the trail finished it was back to the van to have a cuppa and eats, then load the bikes and off to find some other caches.
Like a needle in a haystack, this was a cache in a large leafy bush. Well it's gotta be in there somewhere, so we just kept on a looking until we found it and after a while we did. Another one down and off to the next one we went.

Gosh, such a tricky find in the wet foliage.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.

Some good friends had decided to head to Ballarat for a few weeks so I decided I needed a break and joined them, we had a great time out caching as well as sharing stories and laughs around a meal or two. I really love the area of Ballarat there is so much history and I am sure it has the largest population of Oak trees in the Country.
This is one of the caches found today.
Some caches logged as RASP rebel acts &Ski pair.

With work encouraging us to take some holidays and Mr SKI having quite a few weeks up his sleeve it was time to take another short break and do some sightseeing and caching in parts of Victoria we seldom visit.
This time we decided it would be Ballarat. There is a wide variety of cache types and quite a number of Adventure Labs to do, so the area is quite attractive. And that doesn't include the historical and interest aspects as well.
We organized to meet up with some friends while there so we would have the opportunity to do some joint as well as solo caching.
We have already had some great adventures on a few challenging caches that generated a lot of fun and as usual always good to find some pre-solved puzzles.
All logs signed as SKI Pair, RASP (Rebel Acts & SKI Pair or SP depending on size of logs and availability of space.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache jenno3.

We thought that this might be a quick park and grab and then realised what we might be looking for and where it might be. But we actually found the cache very quickly which was a surprised us. Thanks to jenno3 for the cache.
A lovely day for a day trip to Ballarat with RoamingHowie, Papi4506 & Geoturtle37.
Stopped by here to attempt a group assault. With 4 of us searching from all sides, it was me who spotted the cache. So I retrieved and did the signing duties. However as I replaced it, it fell to the ground. So I had to crawl under to retrieve and re-attach where I’d found it. All good again.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, jenno3

Road Trip! The weather looked good for the day and a plan had been hatched with kayaks onboard to complete some waterway caches around the Ballarat area and then drop in to the afternoon GeoTour event.
As usual it was “just one more” as we were beginning the journey out of town. OzHockeyChick made the quick find on this one.
Thanks jenno3 for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

Travelled up to Ballarat for the GeoTour Launch Event this afternoon, grabbing a few caches on the way and a couple on the way home.
Used to make whistles from the leaves of these when we were kids. Spotted after a short circuit.

Im impressed this cache was placed where I found it. Lucky I wasn't on my own and we're a two person team.
After a wet morning the clouds cleared so perfect time to be out on the bike and finding a few caches.
With all the houses around I was expecting someone to appear and ask me what I was up to, but nobody did.
I did feel a bit like Homer Simpson vanishing into the hedge when I was getting and replacing this.
Thanks for bringing me here.

I thought "oh no, please don't be green" as I neared GZ. By some fluke I found it straight away. It seemed quiet here, I'm really not sure if anyone saw me but I couldn't hide!
Logged and pretended to play on my phone like I wasn't being suspicious

Tftc. There is a branch from a huge tree that had fallen in the storm last night and I thought oh no, the cache is gone.... but on further looking I found this very green thick tree or should I say Bush.. and after walking around it for a while I thought nah, no one would put a cache in there too thick. But I was wrong.... something I would do to poor geocachers lol attached pic of the fallen tree.
Was great to read about this one. Although I only spent a few short minutes here. I could t fi d it this time as there were too many others walking around in a Saturday afternoon. I think this one will keep for an evening get.
Interesting bit of history with this find
GZ was approached with all the stealth of a motorcycle gang rumbling down the main street
I'm not sure how you can use stealth here in broad daylight
So surrounded by twitching curtains,
I wandered around and around,
'til I spied the merest hint of a cache container
TFTC !!
I don't think anyone noticed me [:o]
How'd that happen ??

Another fun weekend assault on Victorian caches with Trigger_Fish where many caches were found, many miles were covered in the geomobile and some miles were walked.
