I was wondering what to find to start the year off and got a call from BenM70 to see when I’d be out at Bushland Beach. It has been a while but it isn’t really beach weather but I humoured him. Apparently this one has been too tricky for a certain geokid as reflected in the logs. As it was an apt title to start off a new year I ran with it.
Arrived onsite, looked around for a bit and spotted something a little odd but it wasn’t complete. I managed to locate the other half and found that one of two fixings was missing. I happened to have one of those and was able to repair it on the spot and replaced the missing log sheet. It certain is still there but would have been overlooked.
In its repaired state it is a well executed hide. Nicely named for a new year. Thanks burgo78, BenM70 for pointing this clever hide out and geokid for being “cloth eyed” as his log states.

With great excitement we headed to Townville for the for the first FNQ Mega - we were very curious to see how much it had changed since we lived there pre-caching.
After an early start for a boat trip on the Bohle River we headed off to collect some of the nearby caches.
Thanks for contributing to the fun burgo78 We have signed as the Vics

Found in the company of The Morris.
While waiting for the second group of cachers to finish their turn on the river, Robyn and I went around the vicinity picking up a few easier caches.

Found while in Townsville to attend the Mega event.
I travelled up from Adelaide, taking a week or so so get here, meeting up with FeatherWaite to do some caching around the Cunnamulla area then continuing on to Barcaldine and Charters Towers.
While in Townsville I teamed up with Budgietas, Stainless-steel-rat and Gooseandegg on some days, including a day on Magnetic Island, and with Davidwazza at other times. When caching with Davidwazza, logbooks were signed DWEG1.
All in all it was a great week or so in Townsville, with plenty of great caches found.
Thanks burgo78 for the cache.

Just two finds today. SWMBO wasn't too keen on any more 4WD Tracks, and her crook knee means we don't tend to do a lot of walking trail ones either.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache pretty close to where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

I didn’t care about 2020 so I didn’t log one yesterday but I should be a glass half-full kinda gal in 2021. Rushed out and grabbed this one tonight after a nice dinner at Longboards.
Another great cache from you. I need to go do another PT to get some more FP up. Thanks Brugo ... don’t you hate autocorrect?

Found this one with greencordial after convincing her to come out and get it. Good little cache and a quick find to start the new year!
Thanks Burgo78!
Thanks Burgo78!
Taking a geo tour around QLD, in Townsville for a couple of days, this is no20 tyfc.
[Apologies for the late log - catching up on a handful of finds I've stored since arriving in town 3 months ago]
While out enjoying Bushy and surrounds and happened to pass by here, so stopped to collect it up. Not quite what I was expecting of GZ given the moniker, but with a little consideration of the clues at hand the cache was found without much issue. Thanks burgo78.

Easy find since it was laying on the ground. Put it together as it should be. Next cache for my Hidden Month Challenge.
What a sneaky hide!
Came here the other day but didn’t have any luck. Found one spot that would be awesome for a cache and was convinced maybe the container was simply gone but the coordinates were a little off. Tried to search a bit closer but it was 5:30pm and there was a constant trail of walkers close by so called it off.
Came back tonight under the cover of darkness and went digging a bit deeper. Wow. Was not expecting that, very clever. TFTC.

Something was kicking up a stink today but still found the hide.
Cover was on the ground but I replaced it.

Parked up really close to GZ and soon found the very interesting container - I like the work thats gone into it. TFTC burgo78
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
16/7/20 500pm Out for an day of Geocaching with wife and kids while in Townsville. Thanks for putting in this cache. Completed with Caitlyn1105. TFTC SL Another good design
This is the hardest one I’ve done yet and wouldn’t have found it if it wasn’t for the tips and hints burgo78 gave me thanks mate
Sneaky sneaky! Had to go back for a second look for this one. (The pencil is broken btw)
woohoo after some helping hints from Burgo78 we finally can mark this one as found. Geokids are stoked!
On our Aussie Day long weekend caching adventure. This one is a nice cheeky hide Burgo. We looked around using the hint as a guide and thought we had solved it but to no avail. We then went back to basics disregarding the hint and had a good search. Found it, Logged It and moved to the next geocache. TFTC
We found this one quickly, although the lid was missing. Soon found missing lid on the ground and cache is back to its original condition.
TFTC ~ found this one at GZ in the first spot I looked. Geo-senses were tingling!! ️ The pencil needs a sharpener, so suggest you BYOP here. Log signed. RAF.
Ok, so this one was tricky than anticipated, had given up but intrigue got the better of us so we took one more look. Very sneaky hide
Away for work and had a decision to make, spend the evening on the pc, or go out Ad do some local treasure hunting? Hmmmm. It’s been 15 years since I was last here as a backpacker on my initial arrival to Aus, so some fond memories of the area and good times spend. A large variety of hides today, mainly drivebys and short walks but a pleasant way to see the sites and get some fresh air. Thanks to all the CO’s for all their effort. Thanks for the fun.
Burgo78 you do not disappoint. Sneaky in plain sight. The urban camo of this container was spot on for the location. Thanks for the hide. Quick sign of the log and back in the car to try and continue the streak TFTC
Boxing Day - Day 6 of the Crooked clan's biennial trip to Townsville to visit the rellies for a tropical Christmas.
I really only gave myself a few hours at Bushland Beach this morning - with a very specific list of target caches. After all the Boxing Day test and the start of the Sydney - Hobart is on the telly. The latter is my favourite holiday viewing.
This cache was not on the list. However, despite the time pressures, I am not one to drive past a cache just off the road. Felt a bit awkward lurking here. I spotted the container quickly and inspected it, but it was so realistic, I discounted it on first pass. A more thorough search revealed the logbook however. Coordinates were spot on. Nicely played Burgo

A good piece of urban camo and a sneaky hide sits in well with the spot. Cache OK TFTC.
We enjoyed a day wandering along Bushland Beach, grateful for the cooling breeze and searching for a few caches along the way.
With accurate coords we soon had this one in hand as we have seen similar types of hide in the past
Many thanks for a great cache burgo78...a favourite point on it’s way

Hahaha 3 Rd time lucky, JB said he had asked me to check there!!!!! Oops! Log in good order, signed & returned!
No luck today! Our eyes were blind to this, we found gz but nothing there??
Is it missing? Probably just not our day!!

This was our second go at searching for this one. Last time was our Christmas visit to my parents. Gave up due to the heat and the police car pulling in to check out what we were doing! Nice to finally have it solved after convincing ourselves it was meant to be a very near recycled object that can also be dismantled!
Working for the season in the area picking up some caches along the way..found and signed log, tucked it back where it belonged...took TB..TFTC
Some of the many caches around Townsville was the order of the day. So a list of caches selected randomly was created, then we were off to go hunting.
This was one of those caches that just looks like it should be there as it blends so well with its enviroment. However, we have met up with this type before so it was not a problem to identify. Thanks for the fun.
Thanks also go to burgo78 for another of the many caches you have placed around the Townsville area.

Great hide!!! had us guessing for a bit. We found on my 3rd lap of the building.
Great use of the surroundings. Thanks again for the chase.

Quickly found a little plastic man, then the lid and a pencil on the ground. Put in a spare sheet and replaced the 'lid'. Might need a checkup not sure how secure it was. Interesting spot hidden on a busy corner, thanks burgo.
Somethings fell into place which meant a trip to town was on the cards so we got planning on what to do and which puzzles to try and solve.
We found a good hiding spot just out of where the actual hide is. Once in the right spot we made quick work of the hide and completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

For once I finished my coffee before getting in the car.
E joined me for the search, she tried the hide once and missed it, it is a good reuse
Left a figure and my nick on the top spot of the log.
Thanks burgo78 for another FTF, keeping my streak!
