It gets a bit boring and lonely caching on your own, so as soon as my Dad arrived on Monday I had plans for caching especially coming out in this direction.I parked by the cemetery, and checked the phone but realised that I was still 1.5km from GZ. By now the phone was complaining about being so far from home and not showing the map properly, so I carried on up the road. Unfortunately I had put dad in charge and the screen was blank, so I pulled off onto a side road and realised...............................another cemetery! We walked up, and I left Dad stood in the shade whilst I had a look. The hunt took a bit longer than I anticipated. Either the branches have grown quite a bit since the cache was placed, or................well I'm not sure what you were doing on the ground there! After a really good rummage under some twigs and small branches I did find the cairn. And there was the cache, buried as well as the inhabitants here are buried.
Over from Adelaide Australia as an expat kiwi, catching up with friends and revisiting areas Ive lived in before and of course picking up the odd cache along the wayA quick find, stamp and return here todayTFTC
Great easy find kids loved it. Our first GC find so much fun. Have placed back in original spot for the next person to find
Found on the drive back to Auckland. A quick find in a peaceful resting place. TFTC
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Up to Northland for a few days, today up to Whangarei. It sure has been a warm summer this trip.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Approached GZ with care, as parking was quite the issue with the road soft shoulder and busy weekend traffic. Found the cache without trouble and took some time as we wandered back to read the inscriptions and admire the location. T4tc
Was earlier for a appointment so I Stopped by.
Beautiful still spot this morning.
Thanks Supernanny.
Beautiful still spot this morning.
Thanks Supernanny.
I headed out this way with Nette to get some caches we both hadn't found around Kaukapakapa. What a really pretty cemetery this is, and so well maintained too. Cache was a quick find and nice and dry.
We grabbed this on our way to a plant nursery in the Kaipara. Giving this a favourite because its such a pretty cemetery to visit with the geodogs.
Out and about with the CO doing some cache maintenance in the area today. After checking out the local "op shop" we made our way to the cemetery, where the cache was soon spotted. All good here and TFTC S/N
Easy first geo to find.
Wish we had a own to sign our name!
Have learnt for next time.

It was fun to find I slipped Dover in the precess of finding it and so I got all dirty although it was fun
We tried to get this one once before but on the day we came a family were having a memorial service or some such thing and of course it would have been very inconsiderate to go caching around them.
Back today and the local man from the council was ripping around at breakneck speed on his ride-on mower and clearly paying attention to noone so we decided it would be safe to hunt and it was a quick and easy find. Beautiful and peaceful spot. Thanks for the cache - everything is fine here.

Last cache of the day and a nice peaceful place to reflect and find the cache. All good here and replaced as found. T F T C supernanny
Weekend is here again and time to stretch the legs, unfurl the wings and spark up the motor on the geo-car. The target for today was going to be Mangawhai Heads, a first visit to this place for both of us. We were doing a recce to check out future viability of meeting up with our son from Maungatapere as a half-way meet and wanted to check out the route, distance and beaches. And was pleased with what we found. Great area nd we pushed on to Langs Beach afterwards and headed back home via Waipu Cove and SH1.

Took a family trip to the cemetery to hunt for caches and pay our respects and we found our first geocache
Was passing through Kaukapakapa on the way to an orienteering event at Woodhill and took the opportunity to grab a cache while in the area. Took a short drive to the cemetery and made a quick find of the cache at GZ. TFTC!
#741. Cache of the day done! I got it on the way to my Mum's place on Mothers day. It was pouring down with rain on the way here, but I realised I had to get this no matter what to keep my streak up. Fortunately the rain settled a bit just before I arrived, but it was still a bit miserable.
I managed to find the cache easy enough. Took it back to the car as I forgot to bring anything to sign the log. Then went back and replaced it, took a brief pause to remember those mothers on Mother's Day who are no longer with us, and then went back to the car to continue my journey.
Thank you very much for the cache!

Pulled into the wrong cemetery at first - easy find once in the correct one

During our holidays in New Zealand, we spent a couple of days in Auckland with program sightseeing, gastronomy and, of course, Geocaching!
So, we took the time to visit a few Caches, to remove some green, orange or blue dots on our map.
We will distribute favorite points according to our mood and caches met.
Thank you to all Owners for the installation of these boxes and for their maintenance.
A nice place for a box!
Greetings from France!

Spending the weekend with my son up in Auckland and north of it! Of course caching was high on the priority list TFTC!!
I couldn't pass by a cache that was just replaced with a blank log and new container. TFTC.
Yeah guys...thanks for heads up .....paper sure WAS sodden!
Have replaced with a different container..and waterproof paper!

This was my last cache for the day as I didn't want to drive back to my Mother in Laws in the dark on unfamiliar roads. My phone GPS took me all over here and never gave me an accurate gz. I was about to give up but looked on my static maps and zoned in using them. I didn't notice the obvious structure until I was right on top of it. Glad to end the day with a smile, thanks Helen
Out and about for a drive in the country on this beautifully clear winter's day. The intention was to enjoy the countryside while enjoying some cache hunting. I wasn't sure about the way into this plot, so ended up parking up on Shanks Road and climbing the bank to access GZ. Certainly the most direct option, if not the easiest. Soon spied a likely spot and hand the cache quickly in hand. As mentioned by others, the log is soaked. Though I did manage to initial the log sheet. Cheers for the cache placement!
Swung by here on the way home from golfing at Wainui to collect our daily cache. A nice little resting spot that I was not aware of even though I have passed by on numerous occasions. Some nice views back to the north. Cache quickly found. Log saturated but managed to leave our mark. TFTC
Lovely restful spot. Had a wee wonder and managed to sign and replace just before more muggles arrived. Thankyou for another lovely smilie

Well this weekend was going to be a biggie.
Along with 3 work jobs we decided to see if we could knock off all the caches in Atiu Park.
First there was the any event in Papakura along with a bit of a bribe a puzzle which we had no idea as to solve.
All park caches were found by following Co Ords and hints given. Some caches were very wet and need maintenance done to them.
The park involved a lot of walking to tick off.
Quick find but sure about hint. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... On a winding drive out to Aitu Creek Regional Park.
We find it hard to shake off our upbringing when it comes to cemeteries. In childhood, we lived very close to a large cemetery and we were brought up to have respect for these locations. We were instructed to stay out and not to enter unless it was absolutely necessary... It's taken a while to get used to going into any cemetery for the purpose of finding a geocache, and we are getting there... We spotted the tell tale location after a scan. The container was visible and a quick find. TFTC.

Quick find on the way home, the car park was full! thankfully no mugglers around the cache. tftc
Today we set off towards Helensville with the goal for today being to boost the number of finds on this calendar date. Unfortunately the weather did not play ball, and we got caught in a few downpours. But we did achieve our target number of caches.
The GPS wanted us to stop at the bottom entrance a little further down the road, but it didn't look quite right so we drove on, then saw the main entrance. It was still raining heavily when we reached the cemetery gates, but we were already pretty wet, and only needed another couple of caches, so in we went. Would have been a nicer wander on a fine day, but we soon found the cache, and had this one signed off. Thanks!

We had to forget the ones by golf course for a moment as rubbish truck was doing its thing just where we needed to stop so moved on to this one. Beautiful spot and nice easy cache. Thanks! (Forgot pen yet again!)
PS saw this huge real dragon fly on fake flowers! Massive!

Sorry Trout Fly and The Wonder Stuff.
Just popped up yesterday....and was horrified to see the cairn totally deconstructed ....and no sign of a cache !
Have rebuilt the small cairn...and the new camoed container is at the bottom ...you can probably see and retrieve without disturbing any rocks if you are skillful.

Was out near Kaukapakapa this afternoon so decided to check out some of the local caches.
I've played golf nearby many years ago, but never knew this quiet little place was here. Nice hide thanks

I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is nine. The area selected was SH16 between Kaukapakapa and Waimauku.
I have been to the other cemetery but not this one before. It is nicely tucked away.
Cheers for the cache.

Parked down by the corner and headed up the hill to GZ. Once again I was glad of the gumboots, which have turned into a necessary TOTT this winter. Nicely placed cache away from the graves and easily found with the help of the clue. TFTC
Came to visit with Granny who found this earlier but wanted to see the cemetery in daylight.
Came here this morning to get this one to continue my daily streak. Heading up Peak Road just after dawn, came over a rise and saw the whole valley area was shrouded in thick fog....then I realised that I was going to visit a cemetery... shrouded in thick fog!! But its "Cache Hard or Go Home!!" so into the fog I went. Nice quick find when I remembered what a cairn was. Nice hide supernanny. TFTC.
4th of 5 FTFs tonight joint with Gorby. We decided to head to this one before the tiny library and made the quick find, admired the awesome view of the mon tonight and then just as we were leaving, the CO and urbangypsynz arrived. A quick chat, ugnz found and logged the cache and then we knvited ugnz to come along for the final FTF. [FTF] #2095 TFTC!!!
Had been out with CO doing some cache maintenace when this was published, going in to make a find meet Gorby and FMZ coming back out after their FTF. They came back in with me and the log was signed. A beautiful albeit chilly night with a clear sky and an amazing full moon. No werewolves just two FTF pirates luckily. Did not even know this cemetery was here.
Our 2nd to last {FTF} for tonight. Where this cache is, is **not** usually a place where you meet people because they are usually dead! But tonight in the dark, after finding the cache and signing ourselves in and walking back to the car, me and FMZ did meet two people who happened to be **very** much alive!! They were the C.O and urbangypsynz. They were doing a maintenance run on supernanny's caches. She had no idea that her caches were coming out tonight so she bought along UGNZ to claim this cache too, but unfortunately just missed out on the FTF! So me and FMZ said come along to the last FTF attempt for the evening at the C.O's library cache and claim FTF with us, she was happy with that suggestion.
