Albury Invasion trip Day 2. After panning and months of puzzle solving it is finally time to head to Albury Wodonga for a long weekend visit. I was with Kitty Katch, FufacesLL and Joolay for this trip, but I also spent time with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n due to space in cars. Logs for the weekend were signed CIA23 to save space. Today was a day of driving all up and down and across back and forth around Albury trying to visit as many of the Puzzle locations we have solved. Some were nice walks some just roadside finds, but there was a huge variety of hides and some were very challenging, even if they were in 'traditional' locations. We did fail to find a few, but I put that down to some really good hides that just plain beat us. There were a few puzzle highlights but matching the puzzle to the hide on the day was a little difficult, so I will just thank all the hider's for their hard work and providing the opportunity to spend a fun day. There are still more caches to be found so we have another day planned for tomorrow and will probably have to come back again one day. Thanks for the cache yamutha44823.12 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2009 Enigma A#155**Albida**
fitzy_1965 and I headed towards Albury/Wodonga last night. We camped at the Ettamogah Pub before joining the rest of our friends in Albury today.A great day was had with us picking up lots of trads, multi's and pre-solved puzzles with the day ending in an event in the heart of Albury and a nice hotel room thanks to a Red Balloon voucher. The logs were primarily signed as CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury) unless otherwise stated.
Apologies for the generic logs but we had lots of headaches solving them and lots of fun finding them. Its a perfect weekend to get out of town. Decided Albury was the place to go. Lots of lovely puzzles that we have spent time as a group working through now its time to venture down and pick up.Signing as CIA-Canberra Invasion of Albury. Thanks for getting me out and about yamutha
33,760. Found with Team CIA23 - Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023.Our caching group has been eyeing off the Albury/Wodonga area for quite some time. After many months of hard work we had solved nearly all the area's puzzles, so we set a date and headed on down. CIA23 comprised of minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, isopeda, barb2e, FurfacesLL, Tankengine, dty73, Sol de lune, LuckyL10n, albida33, Aykayem, smittengranny and myself. For part of one day we were joined by local Cacher Happy Feet 1. What a great weekend of caching with such a fun group of people. An event on the Saturday night also helped make the trip memorable. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log as CIA23, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list. Thanks yamutha !! One of many of your caches we were lucky enough to find. We appreciate your contribution to Geocaching and our enjoyment.
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 and CIA23 cachers on a quick Albury invasion! Thanks yamutha!
#18859; Day 2 of the Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023 weekend, which had been preceded by much head scratching and puzzle solving to prepare. Our merry band comprised of Sol de lune, albida33, Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, Barb2e and isopeda, along with yours truly, were joined by dty, tankengine, aykayem, minniek and fitzy_65 for a day of action today. Started the day to the north of town and then worked our way south, east and west as we gathered caches. Some finds were difficult as were some of the puzzles and some were easier. Some we didn't find at all! All up 103 finds, one event at the end of the day and nine DNFs for me today. Logs were again signed CIA23. Most of the caches we found were in good order. Apologies for the generic logs, but by the end of the day, like the body, the mind was slowing down as well! Thanks to all of the cache owners for helping make a great weekend for our Canberra caching fraternity. TFTC yamutha
Day 2 of the Canberra invasion weekend of Albury. Being ex an Canberran, I headed up to join in the fun of the weekend with LuckyL10n, Albida33, fitzy_1965, minniek, tankengine, dty73, Joolay, KittyKatch, Smittengranny, Isopeda, Barbe2e and FFLL. Today we started to the north of Albury and headed towards the CBD, grabbing caches on both sides of the freeway as we went. Lots of pre solved puzzles, along with a number of traditionals, were found during the day. Unfortunately we had a few DNF's as well. Thanks to all the CO's for the caches...and the fun we had over the weekend. Logs were signed CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury)...

Day 2 of our Canberra trip to Albury and a few extras in our group today. Signing as CIA for Canberra Invasion of Albury. Tftc
Day 2 of our Canberra (plus 3) Invasion of Albury. It was a beautiful sunny day as we set out in search of presolved caches. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches that enticed us down here. Cache found and log signed as CIA or CAI.
Day 2 of our Albury Trip. For the last few weeks a group of us sat together and solved lots of puzzles for this weekend. Today, SmittenGranny, barb2e, Kittykatch, albida33, FurfacesLL, Joolay, Sol de Lune, LuckyL1On, MinnieK, Fitzy_65, Tankengine, DTY73, Aykayem and me went around Albury and found puzzles, multies, trads, ALs and a virtual etc. To save log space we are signing as CIA (aka Canberra invasion of Albury). The puzzles were all quite interesting, the hides sometimes hard. Sorry for the generic logs. Caching in the group makes logging hard. TFTC
Covid was only good for one thing - staying home and solving puzzles.
Solved a group from the same CO, some were harder than others.
This one, was one of geo-wife's favourite puzzle of all time.
Thoroughly enjoyable, and if multiple favourite points could be given, we would.
Arrived at GZ and followed instructions, but it still took us longer than it should have.
Log was damp when found and our stamp is a little blurry.
Many thanks for placing this cache, yamutha, for us and others to find.

I found this cache during my stay in the area. Coords were accurate.
Thanks yamutha.
Thanks yamutha.
Caches were hard to find this weekend but we did see this.
Back in Albury (with catnap777 this time) and my pile of "solved but unfound" yamutha caches was not getting much smaller ...... till we got to this one.
A quick find at GZ certainly helped stem the bleeding from what had shaped up to be my most unsuccessful geocaching expedition ever including 5 DNFs.
At least finding this one and the previous one meant we could end our day smiling and feeling a little less foolish.
TFTC and fun puzzle yamutha.

Caching by torchlight in drizzling rain I almost called a DNF but then spotted the mostly buried cache.
A fun puzzle to solve.
Thanks yamutha

It’s MEGA Road Trip time!! A plan is hatched and we are good to go.
DAY NINE: More Albury & Wodonga solved puzzles.
A fun joint solve. Some were quite tricky, others easier.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, yamutha

Day #9 of the MEGA road trip. Still based at Ettamogah Pub for the last night. I need to grab a handful of caches in Wodonga, as this is the last LGA in my Victorian challenge to complete. Then we are continuing the yamutha puzzle fest (and catching up with the CO at some point hopefully). The plan is always to end up back at camp early afternoon to relax in the hammocks, although I’m sure you can imagine how well that plan seems to work out.
We worked through this one together and slowly the answer revealed itself. The cache was another digging affair. Lucky an ever so small amount of the cache was still visible.
Thanks yamutha for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

Loved this puzzle. Especially with the sound on. People in the other room were wondering what we were doing! Easy find at GZ with the hint so thanks for updating. TFTC. Fav point from us.
Loved this puzzle and I have been having a ball since calling back home to pay the family a visit. Thank you Yamutha for taking the time to rectify the cache going AWOL. Log signed and all is well in the world.
Suscoe had our final day in Albury today and it was a very warm to hot one.
Clear blue skies, some wind at times and bright sunshine and it felt like a solid Summer's day.
35 degrees was the hottest the car temp got to.
We enjoyed our day of caching even though it was so hot.
We visited a range of caches, some traditionals, some puzzles and a multi or two.
In preparation for this trip we had been working on solving the puzzles at home, some we were able to solve ourselves and some required a nudge or two from some other cachers.
We enjoyed the variety in the puzzles and the hides.
Thanks to yamutha.

We solved this puzzle ages ago and let me say it drove us crazy in places. Nothing like a bit of fun and a challenge at the same time.
Today we decided to go for a walk with the dog up at Bell's reserve when we decided to make a detour on our way out and grab the cache, finally. The morning rain had delivered some great puddles to drive through or avoid. We arrived near GZ and made a quick walk up to the hiding spot. We haven't been out here before so enjoyed seeing a new place. It was nice and quiet and with great co-ords a quick find was made. The cache was in good condition.
Thanks for another great puzzle.

I don’t know where you live Yamutha but I’m quite sure you would have heard me groaning about that puzzle from wherever you are!
Another fun puzzle and hide making us tourists in our own community!

Today was my first full day in Albury so my plan was to jump on the bike in the morning to grab some caches and then spend the afternoon caching by car.
Prior to getting to Albury I had spent a lot of time completing many of the puzzles. I cannot believe how many there are, and also the great quality of the puzzles. The focus of the day would be finding the associated caches but still grab a trad or two along the way.
The morning session saw me clock up over 22kms after which I was definitely ready to put the 4WD through its paces. After 5 hours of driving I was ready to call it quits.
We used to play along to Catchphrase at home. It was a fantastic show as can be attested by it's longevity. This exposure to the show must have given me an advantage. A quick find at the GZ. TFTC.

Rapidlywild mentioned her plans of heading south for a family occasion so one of the FurfacesLL team went along for a drive to get out of the house and company.
We covered a lot of ground over the few days away and grabbed a number of smilies along the way.
Thanks Rapidlywild for indulging our last minute decision to join you on this adventure.
Thanks for dropping me off and picking me up from the airport and thanks for the laughs.
Thanks to all the cache owners for their placements we had a blast collecting them.

I had plans made to travel to Morwell, VIC for a surprise family b'day party and had made the decision to drive as I wanted to collect a large part for the new GeoUte in VIC. I had told FurfacesLL #1 of my plans and being she is off work at the moment, I soon had a driving companion for the journey. The weekend was alot of fun, many km's covered, some random locations visited, a nice range of caches found, a number of visits to the Mel Airport and all in all, a fantastic weekend.
Thanks for the cache hide yamutha was another great GeoAdventure across NSW and VIC

Another early morning rise to make the most of the day caching. It was cold again but that wasn't going to stop us. The puzzle took some time to work through and when we arrived to collect the prize, a police car as not far away. Thankfully he wasn't worried about us today and we were able to park and grab this one out of view

Setting out early with DAB and Na'wal to get as much caching in as possible before Na'wal had to leave us to head back home. We picked up many presolved caches including the small "S" series before saying goodbye.
You see What? We seen a police car down the road , so thought better of retrieving this one straight away until the car he had pulled over was gone. When we came back he was still there, minus the other car so we headed past him and made the quick find out of eyeshot of the policeman.
Thanks yamutha for the cache.

Another full day of caching planned and yet again I was in the company of Na'wal and The_Tritonz. With a sheet full of solved puzzles to grab, we set off to claim some smiley faces. We had an absolute blast, with plenty of laughs along the way. We were spoilt with magic scenery and some fantastic hides along the way.
We had to double back here, as on our first pass a police car had someone pulled over here. On return the car was gone, but not the police. Luckily gz was far enough away to grab the cache unnoticed. TFTC yamutha

Had at least two goes at this one and couldn’t get past the first step. Tried again the other night and seemed to have the same problem. Tried googling alternatives for the first answer and finally realised I was missing an ‘a’ at the start. Once I got this I was then on a roll. A couple stalled me for a few minutes but got there in the end. Then realised the numbers were at the bottom and so the back key was used as well!
At GZ IPad was a bit all over the place and after this morning’s yamutha effort thought I was in trouble (especially when I found a tin on the ground). However kept coming back to the same spot and then had cache in hand and signed TFTC

Another mystery that we had solved recently that we were able to log tonight.
The wife loves this sort of puzzle, and she was in her element when we sat down to mull over the different answers that were required.
It was great fun, and we soon had the figures needed to go to the final location.
SL at 6.40pm. Cache is all ok.
This was a really enjoyable mystery to complete. A favourite point from us. TFTC yamutha.

**# 20186**. Found with Mrs Roosta on a hot sunny drive around.
Hardly any muggles around and a good variety of hides.
Some of these hides are getting a bit easier, and there's room for a bigger cache here too.
Thanks for the cache yamutha,

Mm, what do I see? A puzzle and a geocache I think! I could almost lean out of the car window to get this one, but I did have to resort to getting out of the car eventually. TFTC yamutha
An interesting puzzles that took a bit to get going. One of a number of targets we had listed for a trip to town. A quick find at GZ and ours names were soon in the log. TFTC
This was the fifth of 30 plus puzzle caches i was to find in the next 14 hours from Yamutha. This in turn was part of a greater list of 85 local puzzle caches i had planned to collect. But like all great plans of mice and men it went wary and my adventure was delayed by 24 hours. Being a great fan of puzzle caches i was keen to start on a new CO offering and learn his MO Thanks Yamutha for the variety of puzzles some more challenging in solving and finding than others. I apologize for the cut and paste logs due to the shear volume of finds in a short period. I truly appreciate the effort involved in creating the puzzle and cache and they bring me great enjoyment in solving and finding (especially the solving.)
END CUT PASTE
A bit of trial to start but a start i did then it was no stopping me until i got to a tricky one. Some enlightenment got me through. Cheers A FP awarded well done

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. This puzzle gave me no end of trouble in a couple of places and I had to ask the cache owner for help. Other bits I breezed through, I enjoyed the puzzle when I was getting it right, not so much when I was stuck. Today while we had a bit of time we went and found the cache. TFTC
With a few jobs done for the day, it was decided to take the Princess for a drive around so she could get some learner hours up, so another batch of solved puzzle caches were targeted for a bit of a loop.
This was the last one for the day, and at this late afternoon hour, it became a small issue getting the learner to find a safe parking spot with the sun directly in our eyes, we got the circus pulled up in the end, just as another learner in a 4wd went the other way, it was L plate city out today.
We both wandered back, calling GZ on the way, which turned out to be correct, and as luck would have it, we spotted the cache rather quickly and scribbled our names in the log and then went back to the car and got the hell out of Dodge.
Thanks yamutha for a puzzling afternoon.
Cheers

We had to run an errand out this way so thought we may aswell grab a solved cache on the way back! The Ez boys were debating who'd be getting out for this one, so the race was on, luckily a quieter area compared to some others so let them loose with the youngest one coming up trumps.
We'd swapped cars and realised we may have not have had a pen, however we found a fancy one tucked under the seat & added our name to the log. The puzzle itself was one of the more frustrating of the Yamutha puzzles to date. Patience is needed!
TFTC and a good spot for a final.

Back from a holiday in the U.K. and noticed a few new caches in the area. Solved this one and found it today on a very cold day, I like these country road cache not to fond of the urban ones. TFTC
We needed to pick up a part for the bikes in Albury, so we figured we should grab a few caches while we were in the area. BettyBoo3747 and I just made the last one before the rain started.
We were in Melbourne when we say this one, but sat down and worked thru the images anyway.
Today was the first chance we had to come north
A fun puzzle.
Thanks, Robmc.

#12388. With the weather forecast not being so good this afternoon we decided it was the best time to make a raid over the border, picking up a few caches and a bike rack part from the Cycle Station. We were cosily back in the car after Find # 3 and then the rains came.
OK, we are over the border so this one was on the radar to pick up this afternoon. Although we did solve it when it came out it did cause us some frustration and more grey hairs. A fun puzzle nevertheless, although I had to turn the volume down on those pesky seals as they were driving me bonkers.
Good to have another yamutha puzzle put to bed.
Thanks yamutha

I love it when puzzles like this pop up as it gives the two of us a chance to sit down and work it out together. We found the first one or two puzzles quite difficult, but, apart from a few others along the way, they seemed to get easier as we went. Once we solved we decided against going out in the cold and left the cache hunt till the next afternoon.
At GZ we had a quick search before locating the container.

Well this one was rather a nasty piece of work that had us tripping up at several spots. However, whoo hoo, all done and dusted and another one to add to the pile for our next visit over the border.
FTF gone at 5:59pm. Woo hoo!!
Family effort for this one and what fun we had working out all the catch phrases.
Was meant to be going to nieces for b'day dinner...she'll understand our slight detour for a FTF . Quick find at gz with our torches. SL and replaced as found.
Really well put together Yamutha. Favourite point for sure. One of your best!!
