It's the time for Mr Hunters' to take his big annual leave chunk for the year, 1.5 years into his first full time social work role in his home city of Canberra. This year, I decided to jump on my parents' holiday to Perth (next week) but beforehand, I wanted a solo geocaching splurge. I spotted the LGA series not too far from Perth, so I soon booked accommodation for 5 nights in Boddington with the intention to finish the entire series within that time. I was really looking forward to some quiet time for solo geocaching and to have simple pub meals in a quiet country town, I've been extremely busy over the past few months and given my job involves a lot of emotional energy, I wanted to visit a secluded location as far away from home as you can get, absolutely brilliant. I've hired a Toyota Landcruiser at a bargain price and put together a list of albums to listen to whilst on the drive (for each day's log, I'll list the albums that I listened to that day). Wed 13 Nov: After my flight had a delayed arrival, I collected the hire car and took a gentle drive from the airport to Boddington, taking it easy on the roads given that I've never been to WA and never driven a car as huge as a Landcruiser before. What a lovely drive, the vegetation is a hybrid of everything! Checked in to my accommodation, got my things together and made a start to the LGA series in the 1.5hr of daylight that were left. All up, 26 finds and 1 DNF, which wasn't bad I don't think! May've been a bit slower because I was still figuring out the best routine: how high to have my seat, when to leave the GPS in the car and at what point to resort to taking the GPS out, the volume of the music, how much A/C in the car, the correct speed to drive between each cache so that I didn't accidently drive past them, how to efficiently record each find on my devices. All this experimentation will make for a quick, efficient, successful day tomorrow, but it's meant to be extremely hot tomorrow (compared to the other days), so I may end up taking it easy. I was a bit surprised though that at dinner, I found a tick on my body from when I was caching, I'll need to get some Deet tomorrow, I definitely didn't expect to see any in such dry conditions. Anyway, I had a lot of fun this evening on (mostly) quiet roads, I'm really looking forward to tomorrow! Today's albums: Queen (Queen), Queen II (Queen) - I'm starting off by bingeing Queen's studio albums (near Canberra, I own a trail/series all named after Queen songs, so I'm quite the fan).
Caching around Perth and the west coast for a few weeks. TFTC. Nice to finally grab a few of this series.
Boddington camping in the RV area.
Found the 1 cache in town before heading out on the LGA trail.
The roads were very quiet only saw a couple of cars. Plenty of sheep & 1 fox.
All caches had good hints.
Thankyou to the CO's for placing these caches.

Day 2 (for us) On The.... *LGA!*
Another very nice find on a geocaching adventure with woolwood9.
We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.
On the trail by 6-30am stopped for the night after 8-30pm - 2x 15 minute stops otherwise non-stop caching the area!
Tons of dust, 35 degrees - energy draining heat, seeds in socks, flies and spiders - all the good stuff that made for great fun and a fantastic numbers of finds!
**Appreciate the efforts of all involved.**

Nice quick find!
Headed out to knock off some more of this mammoth and awesome powertrail with another 200 ticked off today over a 10 hour period which of course included a stop at the Quinny for a Parmy lunch.
Thanks to FellowshipOfTheTrail for placing such an amazing powertrail with good hints and nice easy finds The sun was shining, the birds were singing! Happy caching days!

Visiting Boddington and decided to tackle some of the LGA series with aimz23_93. All caches were found in good condition and replaced as found. TFTC
Find 1 of the day, quick one after a bit of a search around, morale boost after not finding the one before!
It’s time for my long overdue return to caching and a series like this caught my eye as a good way to boost the numbers back up!
Left nice and early this morning to make it down with plenty of time to find as many as possible!
Hoping to do some CITO along the way to help clean up, but if a shame seeing all the rubbish on the side of the road driving down.

Met the team BODS11 at 6am in Quindanning for a nice early start. Managed to finish the whole LGA Series due to some really hard work and no slacking off (except going into Williams for a pie)
Thanks for maintaining this super power trail.

A big weekend finishing off the LGA series and caches in the surrounding areas with the BODS11 crew (Meme28, Burns345, I C Nothing, Kapelula, Cirrus_WA, Sir Fancy, Leg5, Lachlan1.77, geotrakka, PilotJen and PilotMal). Sorry about the generic logs.
Today the geocaching mission for TaurusSix and myself is to tackle as much of the LGA series as practical. We have viewed and studied this series for a little while now and made the decision that in the cooler months we would give it a go, mindful that it will take a good few goes to collect the whole series. Having lived all over Australia we are familiar with many of the LGA’s around the country so that adds lots of extra interest from our perspective.
We have set ourselves some ambitious personal geocaching goals for today, such as: i) aiming for our highest amount of cache find in a day which is currently at 120 ii) aiming for our highest amount of cache finds in a week which is currently 136 iii) our highest cache finds in a month which is currently 250. With this in mind we made our way to Boddington last evening so we can make an early start on what will be a big geocaching day. The day started off wet but soon picked up to a nice coolish geocaching day.
Appreciation and gratitude to The Fellowship of the Trail for placing and maintaining this wonderful geocaching series.
This is our third cache find of the day along this fabulous trail.

Out on a caching weekend with Team BODS11 the main aim is to locate and log all the LGA Series caches. Glad to say that mission completed. Thanks FOTT for this series.
Down for the weekend in Quindanning to knock off the Boddington LGA series with a number of Perth cachers. This was one of my stops for the weekend. Apologies for the generic logs. Cheers FellowshipOfTheTrail!

Second trip out to Boddington to work my way through a few more caches in the series. A perfectly cool day with a few rain showers thrown in made for a pleasant and less dusty trip in the countryside. Made 138 finds today, a PB for me. Such a great series! Looking forward to my next trip out here.
Apologies for the cut and paste logs.
I appreciate all the work that goes into placing and maintaining this series so thankyou FOTT.
Turned that frown upside down here from the last visit.

Staying at Boddington for the weekend, my wife and I decided to do part of the power trail. Not really a power trail person but enjoyed the change of pace.
Started our 2nd tour of WA now touring around the south and now targeting the lga series. Did your LGA Yarra Ranges VIC today. Thank you for such a great series. 1 February 2022 8:46 am Tyfc FellowshipOfTheTrail total caches now 3925
We all set personal geocaching targets such as completing the D/T grid and streaks. One of personal goals was to average 2500 finds per year. At the end of 2019 we were on track but, as with all geocachers, the events of 2020 impacted greatly. So, despite the restrictions still in place this year, we are trying to get our average back up to 2500 finds per year. With Covid limiting our travel options, we decided to head west, flying directly from Hobart to Perth so that we could cache in Western Australia.
One of our targets is the Local Government Area series near Boddington. We made a start today in ideal weather conditions. The real unexpected bonus for us was the range and quantity of the wildflowers we saw along the way. They were magnificent. We have been told that the recent consistent rainfall has led to a greater abundance of wildflowers that in previous years.
Today we looked for 87 of the LGA caches, finding all but two of them. Unless stated otherwise, accurate coordinates and the hints led to quick finds. The cache containers were in good condition but, as should be expected, many of the log books are showing signs of being used by many cachers, some being badly torn.
We really enjoy the concept of the LGA trail. Congratulations to the members of the FellowshipOfTheTrail on an excellent series which must have taken extensive planning and a large amount of time to prepare and place each of the caches.

Sun is out water everywhere. Thank you for putting out this section of such a great series. Coordinates excellent and all 77 that we found today were in good condition.
Thank you! Decided to do a bit more of the LGA series on my road trip to WAGB 2021. Happy to make the find here.
Finishing the day on Newmarket Road with MorgoTheGeo for our third and final day of the LGA series. Pretty quick easy finds. Thanks for the trail
What a fantastic power trail! Fellowship of the Trail, you all have done an excellent job. Bravo!!
Probsty and I hatched a plan on finishing this series today. We took off at 5am and then we were on a cache mission. It’s our third day down here with a mix of driving and mountain biking. Today was with four wheels. Weather was perfect and most were easy finds. Thank you!
Our journey so far has taken us to NSW, SA, Queensland, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and now back in Victoria.
Knowing the last one on the road was a prior DNF, we finished our day with Probsty finding this cache. It’s a long day finding caches every few minutes but thoroughly enjoyable. This is Probsty’s and my best caching day ever.

That’s more like it, as it was across the road from where we pulled up I ducked over and grabbed the find while everyone else waited in the car.

Now this is how to spend a long weekend Monday. Started early with Mr Z, Mr T & Lance252 to head out and grab some caches, scout some potential lab locations, have a day of adventuring and running the sillies out before work and school start tomorrow. Must have worked by the sounds of the snoring coming from the kids in the back on the way home.
It was a slow-ish morning as we had our hider hats on grabbing coordinates and answers, we ended up in Boddington and grabbed some finds in town before stopping for lunch. After the break we raced along a leg of the FOTT’s LGA series before making our way back home.
We managed to snag 20 finds today with 2 pesky DNF’s mixed in.
-----
Thanks FellowshipOfTheTrail for placing this cache for me to find, this is find number 2737 for me.

Out with Geotrakka on the LGA series before it’s too hot. Such a beautiful day to be out in the countryside. Thank you to the FOTT team for placing this power trail.
First day of the LGA series. Hoping the rain holds off. Generic logs I'm afraid. But will state if anything needs mentioning. Thanks for this series.
Trying to put another dent into this series on a beautiful winters day.
Most were quick and easy finds, some took a bit longer with a handful of DNF's.

Staying in Boddington with the boss and the inlaws for 4 days and decided to grab a few to start the LGA collection today with the boss and my mother in law. She is keen on geocaching. This was a quick and easy find. Thansk for the cache and series FOTT
Thanks to all the owners and maintainer for placing this series for us to find. We only had a few hours so ticked off two roads leaving more for another day. All caches found and in good condition.
Great cache determined to do the series found whilst visiting and thinking about life
Hi there FellowshipOfTheTrail.
We found your cache **"LGA Yarra Ranges VIC"** today. (This makes our find count 23413).
Today we headed out from Boddington and attempted our sixth (and final) loop of the LGA group of caches. We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache finds, but please excuse our boilerplate logs - we know it's not really a good excuse, but we find it difficult to craft individual logs when we attempt so many similar caches in a day. [:(!]
We found 116 caches today & DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels. Our log or stamp is not necessarily placed in the last spot in the book or sheet. If we find a blank spot when we open the log - that is where it goes.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found most caches within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking. [:(!] (We did have to look a little further afield for some though). [:(!]
**Cache Condition:** The containers and log books were mostly in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

Day 2 of my little get away to find as many of the LGA series as i could before heading home to Albany. After camping at the Quinny last night i was up and at it early to make the most of the beautiful day. Thankyou to all involved in placing this series out here for everyone to enjoy. TFTC
Tagged along with Gma Allinaday to find the FellowshipOfTheTrail series. We had a fun few days looking for all caches. I loved all the lambs in the fields but the red back spiders that were on a few of the caches not so much. Thank you for putting all the caches out there for us to find.
Finally had a spare few days to go and tackle the FellowshipOffTheTrail series with my two granddaughters. Accommodation booked in Boddington a few months earlier, which we used as our base, we set off in high spirits to find all those caches. We had some big days, and also a few shorter ones. Given that it was the middle of winter, we had near perfect caching weather. Not a drop of rain, the roads were nice and smooth with little dust. The fields were lush and green with an abundance of newly born lambs, which were a never ending source of amusement for the girls. We found most of the caches where they were meant to be. Some had been strewn a number of metres away by animals. Some fences have been realigned....one cache location was some 10metres inside a new fence. Some caches have been wiped out by the grader widening the road and pushing all the dirt up. Some trees have also succumbed to new fences. Wherever possible, we have replaced caches.....approx. 26 or so, which will keep the trail alive. Many thanks to those responsible for placing all these caches. I can only imagine how much time has gone into that.
Two guys from the Boddington Rifle Range came over to ask what we were doing. They hadn't heard of geocaching. They warned us not to wander onto the rifle range. No problem, we were headed down Newmarket Rd. TFTC
Finally had the time and inclination to begin our hunt for at least some of these caches. The sheer number is totally daunting, especially for someone who gets cache burnout after about the tenth cache. Decided I would try to double that but eventually ended up with quadruple that initial target. Wonder of wonders.......All caches were well placed and in excellent condition so it really did become a cachefest. Towards the end, we met up with Everlasting and joined her for the last ten or so hides. Had a great time. Thank of member fellows for placing these caches. Will return sometime to knock off a few more. Tftc
Enjoyed myself - search and signed the log as EV.. most excellent coordinate spot, some coordinate is out of way so look at "hint". Great see paskersfind at this field.. Thanks for the cache and hide.
Well we had plans to be in Albany this week, but plans changed so we were heading towards Dunsborough when plans changed again! Needed somewhere to stop for 1 week and the LGA series popped up on our radar!
So day 1 today and a leisurely start at 8.30 and back at the caravan by 3.00pm with 175smilies today. Lucky for us the CO's had been down to do a maintenance run recently. We only replaced 1 logsheet and 1 broken container.

This was our 5th and final day of caching along this LGA series. We had hoped to get a perfect record with ilook4geo for today's run, but one cache spoiled that by not appearing. All the others were quickly and easily found, all logs had both sets of initials noted and all caches were put back into position as they had been found. Many thanks go to FellowshipOfTheTrail for this huge power trail of caches and thanks also for all the work put into this series.
This was our last day hunting the LGA series of caches with goingplaces2. All except one were found and on this morning's effort. The series has been a lot of fun and well worth the trip and the stay in the area. Thanks for each cache.
Out with Team Bastholm and Cassie &Co, on an adventurous two day trip. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
Depression is one of those things where the simplest task can be impossible, So here I am writing up the final cache from 2 days of adventure almost 3 months ago, even though practically every cache record to date referred to cache for a summary of the trip. A broken ankle is giving me the chance to catch up on my cache records.
I chose this cache for the summary as it it my favourite LGA in Australia. It was where I grew up and it gave me my love of the natural environment.
Overall I had a very enjoyable time. Certainly more enjoyable than I expected to be just chasing numbers. Probably because of the wildflowers and also the scenery when getting away from the farmlands.
I had flown over to visit a friend and also attend the wa goes big event. I had picked up the hire car from the airport just before midnight and proceeded to drive out and start the trail. Completing about 40 caches before I finally felt tired enough to sleep. Wrapped up on the back seat til the sun was coming through the windows and I could see the landscape for the first time.I probably could have pushed harder but I needed a couple of more sleeps during the day. I think I had 2 hours sleep in total the night coming over here. However, I still managed to smash my personnel best and ended up getting 245 caches for the day. I can't recall the exact number of caches I found, but I am over two thirds of the way through the series.
It was all smiles. There was a total of 7 did not finds. I see fellowship of the trails has put a note that they will be coming down soon to check all these. I had a run in with some arsehole who had the number plate of postie. Decided he would stop and abuse me for not parking off the side of the road far enough. Not sure what he wanted as all wheels where off the tar. But I had just been approached by a farmer to see what I was doing and we had a long chat about geocaching and making sure people parked off the road due to road trains in the area.
On the first night I had a strange experience. Needed fuel and food, so headed into the nearest town which was Boddington. The servo said the only food place was the pub and I went in to find it was skimpies night. I was amazed they still existed, but I stayed anyway for my parma. There was a Maori women there, who I am guessing was the yoga teacher, who was heckling the skimpies for not being able to do the downward dog. Pretty soon, she was bench pressing some of the males who where still in their mining flouros. funny
Most of the caches where easy finds, actually they could have been hidden better and where possible I would add some camo. Favourite points where awarded to lea's they I have some king of connection too. Like I loved the area or had lived there.
Overall a very enjoyable time and appreciate the work that had gone into putting out this series.
