#8182Day 1 of our back of Bourke road tripWere chasing LGAs from Coonamble to Kyogle this week, in the Dubbo region today finding whatever we can in warm conditions.Another find by Samuel! Grey clouds rolling inThanks for the cache!
#8182Day 1 of our Northern/Western NSW Roadtrip.Newcastle -> Dubbo via 2 missing LGAs.A rainy start has eventuated to be a reasonable day, not too hot nor cold, perfect for caching. Some long drives but a lot of caches too! end of copy paste Quick find here, not sure if its replaced as its supposed to be, just buried in grass in the bottom of the cattle grid. TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache Waz and Vik
Long weekend off from work so we decided to go for a camping trip with some friends. Last day we took a detour to do some caching on our way home. Stopped here to look for this as well but unfortunately no luck this time, thank you anyways!
Cache may have been muggled, we will be in the area soon to rectify and replace
We are heading up to Longreach for the last QOGM with The Drovers, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506 naturally stopping to grab any caches that come on the map aiming to get as many LGA's as we can.
We were meandering away along picking up caches that we all hadn't found and this one was next on the list to have a try at and alsobreak up the drive a little. We were looking at this aredrome as we were heading along the road thinking how well maintained it looked and how large it was for out here. Once we got to the gates we had more of an understanding that it wasn't just a cocky's runway, it was quite a nice memorial airfield.
We pulled up and spotted the cache was approached and thought thta it was quite a bold hide and then realised that not a lot of people would stop here unless they were geocachers looking for it.
We added our acronym and headed off to the next one.
Thanks for the cache

We were surprised at where this hide, or not, was located. Probably not a lot of people stop here which is a shame really. The cache was found with no problems. Thank you.

Tftc,
Love the rustic amenities.
We have stopped here on our way home via Tamworth to allow all the country music festival visitors to move on.
What a cute little town with plenty of history.
Fast shearing and yabby races at the pub today for Australia day.! Then an Aussie pub lamb roast,
Happy Australia Day.

Have really enjoyed our caching trip around Tooraweenah, many thanks for the caches and maintenance
Checked a number of places before this one was finally spotted.
As we work our way home we traveled from Moree to Tooraweenah today picking up a few caches as we traveled and then around town after we had set up. We were surprised to find a new Adventure Lab in Tooraweenah which we had not seen in setting up for the trip. We duly did it, an interesting trip round town although we did struggle with phone reception on both Telstra and Optus.
Largely trads today.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Waz and Vik.

Quite an easy find. Cache is in good condition. Signed and replaced. Just loved the story of Arthur Butler and his saying "aviators are too busy making history to write about it." Thank you Waz & Vik for placing the cache and the tour of Tooraweenah.
Full time nomads since 2014.
Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots and floods

Found quickly with accurate coordinates. Log was damp but I managed to add my moniker. A check by the CO would be a good idea. Thanks.

Day 12 of our NSW road trip and making our way from Gilgandra to Tamworth today via Gulargambone. Variety of small towns visited, driven through interesting country side and quite a few caches discovered. Many thanks to the CO's for placing these caches.
Caching today from Gilgandra to Gulargambone to Gunnedah and onwards to Tamworth. So many caches I have decided to do a generic log. Thank you to the CO's of the caches I found in the various locations. Much appreciated. Found cache and signed log. TFTC
Took a leisurely drive out to Tooraweenah today from Gulargambone, where we are staying for a few nights. I quite enjoyed this series ... it took me to some interesting spots (this was probably the pick of them ... I'm now going to read up on Butler's story), there was a diversity of hides and all were very findable. Can't ask for more ... thanks Waz & Vik.

Dayboro trip. Day 14. I spent the night in Moree and began the next leg of my journey south to Tooraweenah. It was good to get some caches in each of the towns I passed through including Narrabri. It was a nice day and getting cooler as I went.
The set of caches on the way to Tooraweenah and the area around town drew me to stay the night here. It was a great drive to each one and only long grass causing problems. The Van park was fantastic with very welcoming hosts.

We don't think Butler's Aerodrome will be hosting too many 380's in the next few years. We had to find the grid pattern before we found the cache. Tftc

A great location to highlight in this area. All was quiet at GZ on this rainy Monday morning.

Another cache in the little village of Tooraweenah. Great caravan park & quite a few caches to find as you do the historic walk. Tomorrow we will visit the Warrumbungle National Park. TFTC
This was not where I first thought it would be, but soon found regardless! Thank you for the cache! : )
We had a fantastic day trip out from Coonabarabran to here in Tooraweenah, finding 15 caches out of the 15 we attempted - no DNFs! We saw some amazing views of the Warrumbungles, which we hope to explore tomorrow, and we really enjoyed finding every single cache, and having lunch in the pub in Tooraweenah. Thanks very much to the cache owners for placing them - once again we've been brought to a place we would never have known about were it not for geocaching.
This one took a bit of searching, but once we had the right idea, it was located very quickly. TFTC!

Found it before I got out of the car. HUGE spider on it. Freaked the kids out, It was great.
Thanks Waz & Vic, we really enjoyed the history in this Butler Air museum. Amazing that the service to the surrounding towns was better then than now!
Cache found safe & log in good condition with a new looking container. A4us!

We don't know if the container has changed but by our standard we would call that a 'large' bison tube. What a wonderful place for a cache, on our next trip back to the area and with more time up our sleeves we will be interested in having a look at the memorabilia. SL TFTC
Found by Mary and David at 1115. What a beauty. A perfect name for an aeroplane in this area. He was certainly a visionary. Hard to imagine 3 services to Sydney each week. David remembers seeing Butler aircraft flying overhead as a young boy in Sydney. Our thanks to Waz and Vik.
A quick grab and sign. Had a read of the monument (rock) re Mr Butler , well done to everybody involved..

Today my target area was Tooraweenah where there were lots of caches for me to find. Lovely to,see that Arthur Butler is still remembered here, as he was an early pioneer of aviation in this country. There is a wonderful book about his life and flying activities called Flight to a Lady. TFTC Waz and Vik
It's good to visit this historic aerodrome. Things are a bit quiet here these days. Tftc.
I stopped by the gates to the aerodrome today on me way to town.
Butler is a rather famous name in Aussie Aviation
Now could I make a name for myself and actually find this cache ??
I soon hit V1, found the cache, rotated the geomobile, and took off

Hi there Waz and Vik.
We found your cache **"Butler's Aerodrome"** today. (This makes our find count 19431).
Today we cached around Tooraweenah. The aim of the day was to cache along roads we haven't traveled on since we became full time grey nomads. Once we've done that we can draw another line on our wall map).
We found 14 caches today (DNF'd 1) .We thoroughly enjoyed our cache raid. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.
