14 years after first coming to this special place, we found it. This rock is one of my favourite spots in the world. Sorry that so much meaning has been lost. Thanks!
After a bit of looking, the cache eventually revealed itself. Clever hide. TFTC, 224
Yay found, very hard and clever! Luckily I have experience with my grandpa that we knew it was in a log as the clue states it will be your last log which was a hint that we seen before. Thanks for the cache!
#13702 15:30What a great spot with some amazing views. The cache was well crafted and fooled me at first.OCW Martin Cousins for a few caches around Allambie Heights. TFTC vk2df
OCW Its_Dozzie, great views, aboriginal carvings, really sneaky neat hide with a touch of evilness.Brilliant location another FP, thanks vk2df
Wow that was tricky, second time here. The first time I didnt have much caching experience so gave up after about 10 minutes. This time with more experience I looked at everything but to no avail. Saw a photo of previous finder and came at it in a different angle that is when I spotted something I hadnt seen before I pulled at it and it was cache.
This one took a while! Thanks for this great hide and for showing me Gumbooya. no pen so took a snap.
Had to message CO for an extra hint for this one, a unique hide we've not seen before. Loved the rock carvings also. TFTC, a favourite point from us
Today (11th October 2021) marks the official start to NSW’s re-opening Covid-19 Roadmap, following the Covid-19 health crisis that led to the prolonged Sydney lockdown. As such we feel it’s time to bring our caches back online for the enjoyment of the caching community. Happy caching everyone
To help stop the spread of Covid-19, the NSW Government has ordered everybody to stay at home unless you are: shopping for essentials, receiving medical care, exercising or travelling to work or education.
While some people would regard going geocaching as a form of exercise, it is our personal opinion that this activity is a non-essential one, perhaps involving unnecessary travel and therefore should not be undertaken during this time of crisis.
Today (14-08-2021) authorities announced tighter restrictions & compliance on leaving home for the approved reasons, including a reduced 5 km from home limit and the removal of the reference to "recreation" that many geocachers have been using to justify their continuation of geocaching. As a result of this we have decided to disable this cache and respectfully request that no person seek out and claim a find whilst this cache is disabled.
We look forward to bringing our caches back into play as soon as the health crisis abates.
Regards,
vk2df

Quick find, nice little hide… and we never new these engravings were here. TFTC
Found with geobuddy Chippyddd. Good clue. Watch out for splinters. Cache and logbook are dry. SL TFTC TFTH Replaced cache as found ready for the next cacher. Fav point awarded
Once we decided where it wasn't, it was a matter of not getting to many splinters. Very sneaky and clever hide. Nice. Found icw geo-buddy Mystic Seer. With signing duties sorted, it was replaced as found ready for the next geo-adventurers. Fav point given.
I used to work at the bottom of the hill, and live further up. A friend and I would ride home up this hill most days, and often stop off at this hidden gem to chill out for a while.
Thanks for bringing the right kind of other people here.
Found after a bit of a search - very clever container and hiding spot.
Cheers!

I dnf’ed this some time ago, but noticed it had had some recent maintenance.
After reading the maintenance log, I realised I’d definitely been concentrating on the wrong features when I’d done my previous search.
Headed back here today with new eyes, and fairly quickly noticed the very clever hide.
An excellent cache and fascinating location, easily earning a favourite point.

Replaced one of the cache's components with a slightly smaller version to allow for easier cache extraction. Cache now back in action. Happy caching everyone
Stopped by the cache this morning for a cache check and, while the cache was still in place, it was very tight and difficult to retrieve. Will disable until I can do some maintenance.
vk2df I found your cache Gumbooya on 5/11/20, 11:50 am. This is my find 2802 and find # 3 today. Reading the hint, knew where to look. After a brief search, noticed something unusual. Had to think how to get the cache out without breaking the camouflage. Very well done and thanks for showing me the carvings. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Checked on the cache this morning, following the recent DNF, and all was found to be OK. Cache was a bit wet, but that's not a problem as the log sheet is made of water proof paper. Happy caching everyone

Hawko2017 and I had a somewhat frustrating morning.
After two DNF’s down near the dam, we thought we’d give this a bit of time on our way back.
We gave the area a pretty thorough look over, but everything that seemed slightly out of place turned out to be quite solid.
We re-read the hint, the description, and a bunch of older logs but still came up short.
The clues dropped cryptically in some of the logs pointed us to one particularly thing, but it surely wouldn’t move.
By the time we gave up, we were sure we’d been on the wrong idea all along.

As of today, Friday 15th of May 2020, some of the Covid-19 social restrictions have been eased and pursuit of "recreational activities" away from your local home location is now permitted. Geocaching, which appears to fit this category, is therefore now permitted. Thanks to all those who followed the rules and did the right thing during the past six weeks of caching restrictions. Happy caching everyone
During the current Covid-19 health emergency we all need to follow our government’s directive to not leave our homes unless it’s for essential reasons. As much as we all love to go out geocaching it’s NOT regarded as an essential activity, so please resist the temptation to break the rules (law) by heading out to find & log geocaches during this period of restricted community activity.
A lovely cache to do early in the morning.
I had the site to myself while i was searching, which was a good thing as it took me quite a while to locate it.
I think i must have circled the GZ over 20 times before finally getting lucky. A very cleverly concealed cache.
Thanks.

I came here after work needing a find to fill my empty calendar spot today. The coords were bang on but I just couldn’t find the cache. 10 minutes of circle and checking and circling and rechecking I found some give and retrieved the cache! Very clever hide in a gorgeous spot! This rock needs an earthcache almost definitely! Logbook was damp but I’ve been drying it out while I write my log. TFTC!
What a find in the middle of the ‘burbs. Luckily no muggles. Clever hide but I broke my pen in in the search, so only got the 25 part of the date =25/8/19 and no name! Thanks for the fun , finesse and the find!
Found today whilst doing some local caches with JordsAU. Nice clever hide style. Cache log was damp but intact. SL TNLN TFTC

Found ‘Gumbooya’ (GC77VQW) with AMobius.

TFTC! Great hide, I like these ones that look like they belong but don't actually serve a purpose
After failing to find it last time I was here almost a year ago I brought along some help this time and soon Cargo147 had the cache in hand! Such a great view from here too! Enjoyed looking at the engravings. Thanks for bringing us here!
This is an amazing place, although it's disappointing to see the "moron marks" amongst the culturally significant ones. This took a bit of persistence but I eventually found the cleverly hidden cache after some systematic searching.
OCW Oldmorty and after finding a few of the CO's other caches recently, wanted to tick a few more off the list. Luckily had the place to ourselves and soon felt the sneaky hide. Very clever and the Aboriginal art was a bonus. TFTC!
OCW Morty8888. After completing a near by wherigo and a multi in the morning we headed over to this cache after some lunch. I had visited this cache last week but was muggled out by council workers taking a lunch break. I waited around until they finished their lunch, but guess what, they then started unloading the necessary implements and machinery to mow/strim a playing field. That was enough for me and I headed home. Today Morty8888 and I turned this into a park and grab. I can't believe how quickly he got his hands on the sneaky little blighter. I'm sure if I had been on my own it would have taken longer. TFTC vk2df and showing us the rock carvings.
Back in my old stomping ground for the first time in ages. Despite living about 500m away as the crow flies for 6 months a few years ago I never made it to this park and view until this cache uncovered it for me. GAFF1 after appreciating the artwork on a cool morning ripe for a few finds. Cheers!
Cache visited and maintenance performed. Have modified the hide to prevent the cache from accidentally being replaced incorrectly, which was easy to do previously. Thanks to crash2079 for highlighting the issue. Happy caching everyone

Looking to make progress towards my next milestone and on my way to avenge a DNF at Manly.
I always enjoy these historical sites although this one is not as pristine as some. Had quite a descent look before I finally spotted something promising. Very nicely designed so gets a FP for that and the location. I unintentionally returned it in a way that will make it slightly harder for the next finder - sorry

Housesitting up in Freshwater over Christmas New Years so a perfect time to get out and pick up some local caches. Today I decided to take down a few from some geocaching Powerhouses vk2df and Zargfinders. I did a small loop of the Manly Dam trails and picked up a few between here and Freshwater. Managed to find all of them today (although some of them had me searching for quite some time)....
This one was a surprisingly quick find at GZ TFTC

Found with geoluky2100 and our geodad. Dad found it first. Fav point awarded.
After watching a caching buddy win his soccer/football grand final we headed over to grab a few caches. Took a few minutes to work out where it was, then a couple more to extract. So hidden, so sneaky, so good! Looks like this one was popular today! Worth a FP from Brew. TFTC

Trying to mingle with the madding muggle crowd at a nearly house auction, Setrite and I approached GZ. I'd had a shot at this one before, and came up empty handed.
This time, I had an added clue, and homed in almost immediatly. Then came the real challenge... but I got there. Nice hide.
Thank you, vk2df!!

Gumbooya! Got it! The cache is cleverly crafted and hidden. The views from GZ are awesome. Worth a favourite point. TFTC vk2df
After further correspondence with chudles it was confirmed that the cache had actually been found, but it's extraction was a problem. Visited the cache today and found that indeed it was very difficult to extract. Cleaned everything up but it was still not the best, so shifted it by about 30cm and all now good to go. Apologies to chudles for the problems.
Checked on the cache tonight, after the recent DNF, and all was found to be in good order. Happy caching everyone
Had a prolonged look for this one - but it was at night and I'm useless at finding micros. Will tell more of the story in the cache of yours I did find
Well, I really liked discovering this location. Excellent! And I was determined not to walk away empty-handed. And it took some effort. Fortunately GZ was muggle free. I looked, felt wiggled, thought, looked and felt some more. Finally spotted something a little unusual and then used some geosense to extract this very clever and unexpected hide. Nice one, vk2df. A favourite for the location and the hide. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek

Decided to go for a gaggle of caches today after a few days of only one find. But where to go? Only one viable area close to home (ie within a 30 minute drive), but I'm saving that for later this month... Decided on Queenscliff and surrounds. Went for six and found all of them. HUZZAH!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Started here. Familiar area - I DNFed the previous cache. Thankfully no such problem today, but it did take me 10 minutes to get the right spot - coords are pretty spot on.
Completed signing duties and replaced.
Then noticed a track heading south from GZ. Decided to follow and was rewaded with a much larger rocky area. I wonder why no petroglyphs here?
Also found what I can best describe as a "dinosaur egg" after following the eastern edge of the platform.
This one gets a favourite - not just for the cache but the area in and around GZ.

A peaceful break from the afternoon rush and some more petroglyphs to admire too. The hide is a bit of a challenge to add to the fun. Thanks vk2df.
Hint confirmed I was looking in the right spot but after seeing a spider crawling around GZ, I was a little hesitant to probe around
Soon spotted something strange and found the cache!

Paid this a visit after work. Really lovely spot on a nice day! Found GZ and after reading the clue I was confident I had the right spot so I started to look closer. Felt something strange. After a little bit of thinking I had CIH. I'll have to come back to this awesome spot! Cache# 428 TFTC
Out on a Sunday morning cache checkup run. All OK at this one but, after reading of some cachers difficulties with retrieval, I did do a little bit of work to hopefully improve things. Happy caching everyone
Time for one more cache today so we headed to this now familiar area.
A beautiful spot with a great view
The cache was dotted quickly but took a fair bit of manoeuvring to get it in hand.,....sneaky

Well this place looked familiar as we recall getting a FTF here for Spike 02 a few years ago. We suspected the co ords would be good so let the GPSr settle and then we spotted the hide but still had to log the find. A little tricky to extract but we got there in the end. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Previously logged under team account BoogieRogue. Re-logging with my individual account. The was a cache here earlier but it went missing. Great spot still TFTC.
I came here after completing The Heath Track. There were lots of birds there but not a single bird to be seen or heard here. Definitely no magpies.
I remember coming here to Gumbooya Reserve for a cache a few years ago and inspecting the Aboriginal carvings in the rain that day, no view through the mist that day but today it was clear and sunny and I could enjoy the views.
Now this was quite a tricky hide, out of sight and out of reach but persistence pays off and I found it in the end!
I sat and enjoyed the view, signed the log and visited some TBs then I headed for home with just one more caching stop along the way.

1 of 2 @ 3:20 PM; #5177; 3TF; I, too, met the family of very tame magpies who seemed to be very interested in what I was doing. More log to come...
What an interesting place. Thanks for bringing us here. I think somebody had been here earlier and left a bunch of pistachio shells which the magpies were jealously guarding so we grabbed the cache quickly and did not stick around too long. We will be back though. Thanks so much for bring us here.
FTF!
Was temporarily sitting by the computer when an e-mail arrived: A new cache published just three kilometers away. Jumped in the geo-mobile and headed off. Arriving at a well known location, I saw another car parked near the cache, but at GZ nobody was around. A quick search using the spot on coordinates had me soon finding the well hidden cache. Extracted it and opened it to find an empty log. Signed as FTF and headed off back home.
(I think that I by mistake wrote the wrong time in the log, it should be 16:35 and nothing else.)
