We spent a couple of hours in Blackall to look for some caches close to the centre of town before heading off to Barcaldine mid morning. This was another of the caches we visited before leaving. The required information was obtained from some online research. When we visited the Railway Station, we looked around an soon found something interesting. The code we had obtained worked and we soon had the container open and the log signed. Thanks KerryL62 for a different style of cache - it earns a favourite from us.
Definitely not wheelchair accessible at the moment. So the terrain 1 os a red herring.Look up. Look way up.Luckily we had the place to ourselves.Signed The RoosTftc
We had a fruitless and frustrating search for this one 5 years ago. Today I put a bit more brain power into it and came up with the goods. What a fantastic little historical park. Thanks for highlighting it for us and bringing us here.
Love ticking things off my big things list! This oldie I knew about, but not the big kangaroo around the corner so that was a nice surprise! Thanks for this cache, I learnt a new word today!
Staying in Blackall for a few nights and went for a walk around town collecting a few caches along the way. TFTC
Found while on our adventures across 5 states, WA, NT, Qld, NSW & SA for several months. We stamped this one after having lunch at the park. Thanks for bringing us here
A great park with historical artifacts, and I really enjoyed this location. I searched for a fair amount of time, and didn't appear to be any closer, so I ended up resorting to a PAF, which discounted one of my assumptions that I had made. I don't think the [Final Location](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=35352227-4977-4659-8406-d1b3c883882f&RefID=ee9bc0be-06df-4f3f-8929-ef40bd5d8a9b&RefDS=1) waypoint's coordinates is correct. Otherwise, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks KerryL62 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats.Today, with Longreach QOGM finishing up, it was time to commence my two-day drive home. After making an early departure from Longreach following the [QOGM 2023 CITO](https://coord.info/GCAAHTW) event, I passed through Barcaldine, Blackall, Tambo, Augathella, and then finished up in Morven where the [Morven Major Munch](https://coord.info/GCAE0HW) dinner event was held. I made sure to see the historical sights like the woolshed scour, murals and drilling setup in Blackall, before playing through the Wherigos and finding puzzles and challenge trail. I extended my day after sunset, and completed the Murweh Triangle (MT) geoart puzzles from Augathella to Morven. It was a fairly full day in warm conditions, but the geocaches placed from previous QOGMs were enjoyable, and it was good to add Blackalls LGA to my statistics.Adventure Labs completed: [The History of Tambo](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/0c74ee1c-bb7e-46cc-b899-55918a0094d4); and [Augathella Art](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/a28da373-e575-4d0c-b1f2-14a832b17597).
Our time in Longreach has come to an unfortunate end. Not to worry, our caching adventures continue as we make our way back home to Caboolture. Its sad to be heading back home, but at the same time weve made some unforgettable memories and visited some spectacular locations we never thought wed visit. Thanks for bringing us here.#4150 - TFTC
JACS and I travelling home today! Big drive but still time to stop for a cache or two along the way! Thanks for the caches placed in these outback locations. Its been a fab week . Loved the folk and the countryside. We live in a very fortunate land.
Day 17. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my by way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip.A wonderful stop in Augathella overnight with The_Tritonz and today we are on the home stretch with Longreach our final destination!I was the only one who hadnt found this cache so I made a quick dash to make the find. Lucky I spotted it on this quiet day. Thanks KerryL62 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Are you planning a trip to Victoria? Check out some of these caches on the nominees list for the 2022 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards. The shortlist is available [here](https://coord.info/BMC8QYR)
Found It!This took a bit of searching but after a lot of looking around (and reading the description several times) I eventually spotted it! Interesting park with lots of interesting history and a great spot for a cache!TFTC
Well my trip up to QOGM has officially started and I’m taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there.
So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so it is time to start heading west.
I have never been up this way before so it will be interesting to see what towns I come across in my travels.
So after spending a great night in Morven it was now time to head North to Barcaldine to hopefully make one of the first unofficial QOGM events before QOGM officially starts.
I left nice and early as I had a few caches earmarked to find on the way up.
A great walk around the museum and grounds.
I loved the ambulance train and it would have been an interesting ride for the patient.
A quick look around and a I soon noticed the cache.
Thanks RoddyC QOGM 2019 TFTC.

32,935. Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 14. Well the trip was well and truly underway. I have never been to a QOGM before, and since this was the last one I decided to head up there for the fun. We have a couple of days in Blackall with an aim of cleaning out as many caches as possible along the way. Today we headed south again cleaning out more caches. This was the next find of the day. A quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, usually as F65 A33, replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs for putting out these caches !!
It was only a short walk from the riverside camp but we quickly realised how unacclimatised to a bit of heat we are. Fortunately the search catered for softies like us and we were soon signing the log in breezeway comfort. Some great rail history here... TFTLB KerryL62.
Something special or unusual goes here:Found. loved the park and decided to come back tomorrow and have some lunch here. The Generic Bit:QOGM adventure - I was able to catch a ride with Muff1 who were heading to the QOGM event and team up for 3 weeks of caching adventures. 3 weeks in a swag - will my back hold out[?]Day 7: Today we moved northwards again from Augathella to Blackall. I had solved many puzzles in the weeks leading up to this trip and today was another day that I could at least get a bit of return for all the time spent in preparation. Over 30 caches found and although I had a DNF as few phone calls whilst we did a week's worth of clothes washing paid dividends and that was able to be corrected before moving on. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks KerryL62 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
We are now on our way to Longreach for the QOBM event next month. As we missed the big event here, it was now time to grab some of the caches around the area. Another big day today, doing some of the trails around the area. Today I was just around the local area cleaning up some hides.
Stopped off here and once I worked out where to start searching, it was a quick find and retrieval, with the code.
Thanks KerryL62 for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Accompany with DeafVW, DeafCat and DeafPhantom. I am appreciative of them because they are young and have more energy and good equipment as I didn't bring Ladder with me.
Handy one of them can climb so I just stood and watched.
Thank you for organising the cache and hunt.
Sorry about copy and paste.

A great day has had. We are all exhausted after a full days caching with so much fun. Thank you for the hides and thank you team. We loved this one
Today we are travelling from Augathella to Blackall with a stop in Tambo on the highway while towing the caravan.
May have to pass on a few.
Expecting to see some other cachers on the way to Longreach.
Nobody here today so we could search without any muggle observers
Found the prize and the digits opened it with ease.
All good here

Nice bit of history here. On the hunting trail with SeasonedBird while on a slow roundabout route to QOGM 2023 at Longreach. After 3 days on the on the JPT trail. Bit of a rest day today clearing out the local caches before packing the swag and moving on. A quick find here. It’s a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Ticking off the town caches in lovely Blackall then will finish tackling the JPT series from the south end with Wollaston.
Realised we should be standing on the rail station platform to start our search, was soon located shortly after.

Day Five: Aramac to Charleville.
Weather: blue skies returning, no rain today.
Greetings from a transiting South Australian.
Second letterbox of the day. “Nouse” is something I often lack, but I managed this one ok. Great cache for the railway buffs!
Thanks again KerrieL62.

Slowly working our way back to Cairns after attending Qogm 2022. Did your When the Railway came to Blackall today. 12 October 2022 2:26 pm Tyfc KerryL62 total caches now 5770 .
Up early this morning as we wanted to collect a couple more caches before we head off towards Jericho. So much history here can't wait to come back and spend some more time here.
After a bit of searching I started to read logs from others. Ms Maddy's log pointed us in the right direction. Reached up, turned the lock and had log signed and returned in seconds.

QOCM this year (my second) I personally had a very slow start. With the first couple of days I was a little under the weather & mostly house bound; I was appreciative of the group to battle on without this key team member .
The weather has been perfect & the cache hides great as usual… some more greater than others. I don’t recall any DNF’s but then again, who wants to!
The gadget caches were fabulous, the challenge caches challenging and will remain so for a while yet as I try to qualify over the coming decades. Therefore, a bit of work to undertake.
Once finally in the field I signed as either Muggle 65 or MB&C2 on muster days. Thanks to the QOCM team for putting on another great event.
Thank goodness was with me, her eagle eyes spied this one.

Took a minute or two to find once I read the cache page!
So many possible places to potential find this cache but persistence paid off in the end. We spent some time wandering about the displays while we were here. Thanks KerryL62
We are having great fun exploring Blackall and the surrounds.
After spending the morning collecting just a few from the nearby power Trail, it was time to head back into town and have a good look around this area.
This is a lovely letter box hybrid.
Definitely worthy of a FP.
Thanks KerryL62

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 7 with a change of direction for our trip due to road closures so instead for Tambo to Emerald we had to detour via Blackall and Barcaldine updated the GPS’s to collect caches along the way along with heaps of grey nomads towing caravans even a group of old vintage cars and motorbikes along the roads to contend with.
This one took us way longer than it should have. But good hide staring us in the face.
All caches were found along our journey that we attempted unless otherwise mentioned.
Thanks to all cache hiders for keeping this hobby alive and breaking up a long drive.

Travelling homeward bound to Busselton from the Townsville Mega, how lost can we get?
It’s been 2 months since the CacheQld mega and we are still in Queensland, that’s still a long way to go to get home to WA
But the fun bit is, finding all these geocaches along the way.
No matter where we park our caravan for the night, it’s always an exciting day to see this great country through the eyes of the local geocachers.
Thanks to all the COs for showing us your favourite spots along the way.

It’s Mega time once again!! Woo hoo!! Love these epic road trips. This time the plan is Canberra to Narromine to Cunnamulla to Blackall, a detour via Winton and then swinging back to Charters Towers before the main event in Townsville. Will see if the April rains and flooding detour us! Thanks to everyone who placed and maintained all these caches that enabled us to have a wonderful holiday! Thanks for the cache.
Found with Nibletricecakes on day 4 of the drive from Canberra and the Townsville Mega. So many good caches in this area, we will have to return. TFTC.
Like all geocachers, I’m taking the scenic, slow route to Townsville. Along the way we detoured for, amongst many others, this geocache.
This one was fun ahomburg needed a photo of course!

**This Cache:**
This cache had me scratching my head! I almost thought I would have to DNF it, until eventually I managed to find the sneaky cache! So many places it could be, but in hindsight it's in a fairly obvious / safe location that won't have muggles stealing it. I think the coordinates had me near the bridge which was my problem as I got distracted by lots of objects around here that could house a cache!
I already had the code worked out and it popped open nicely for me!
Favourite point from me for bringing me to this lovely location, and for the excellent cache

**Today:**
Day 3 of my road trip heading towards Townsville in NQ!
After a pleasant camp in Wyandra, QLD, I was up nice and early once again!
The first goal of the day was the Wherigo cache in this small town, I was happy I was camping here as it was much too dark and I was too exhausted to attempt this cache the night before!
It was another fantastic day, picking up almost 30 caches before settling in a campsite just outside Barcaldine, QLD well after dark...!
Today was pretty exciting for me, to be deep in QOGM territory with wherigos, EC's and letterbox deluxe I was pretty spoilt for being in the outback. This meant an extremely long day though to fit them all in!

Our very last cache of the day and what better than a letterbox.
We’d searched around without luck when krcamber read some logs that steered us in a better direction. Oooh what about that?
We retrieved the item and Krcamber found the numbers we needed to unlock and add our names. Very cool.
Thanks for the letterbox cache, KerryL62

As this was on the way to the bottle shop, Swearah and I thought we would quickly stop in and see what we could find. Our last stop for today. This was a little trickier than expected but reading through some old logs helped and after an idea or two, Swearah spotted something that might be worth investigating. Ooooh yes, that’s it! Very sneaky, love it! FP for the brazenness! Thanks for the letterbox cache KerryL62!

The plan was to tour along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, out to Noccundra and through Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns, then out to Weipa and up to the top. Based myself at the Barcoo River Camping Area at Blackall for two nights, heading out each day to do a circuit of caches in the area. Struck up a conversation with a friendly railway museum volunteer who knew enough about the cache to steer me away from the bridge. Thanks for the cache KerryL62!
Too easy I thought. Then uh uh not so easy after all. Good look around had cache in hand numbers, pass to open cache log, stamp and sign. Here for the

Was looking for something different. Had a think went back to an area and now giving myself a slap across the forehead. Thanks for this one, no mail for me today.
Looking for something to fill in time whilst not studying, it was suggested that I finally get around to logging THOSE caches long found but never logged. Some even have funny stories of being visited not only once or twice, but a few even have had a third or fourth visit before realising I've been there and done that. The date is as near to the correct day the cache was found. So, sorry for the generic and late log.JABs.The full story can be found herehttps://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=c74de4cf-b59f-4ee4-9b5a-63ff0fc061ea
Day 2 and the planned driving to Longreach was much shorter than Day 1 but the find total was higher as we travelled through Blackall and Barcaldine picking up some oldies and others of interest.
Having made a few finds in Blackall we decided on a couple more. This was one. Eskies5 was all over it and had the log book quickly in hand. Names signed and all returned. TFTC KerryL62

Day 2 of 8 (Tambo to Longreach) of a Queenslander road trip with Kestal, clocking just over 4000km, to tick off boxes for different challenges. I enjoyed this one. Bold hide but fits right in with the surrounds...a fave pt. TFTC KerryL62
We went armed with the information we needed to open the letterbox, but it still took us a few minutes to find the actual letterbox. For the second time in 2 days we have been reminded to read the description carefully!
It was a good day to look, Sunday, as the centre was closed and no one at all was about. Even picked up a booklet highlighting the local area.
All signed and returned.
It was only a short drive from Tambo to Blackall today, but we did find a few caches in Tambo that we had not done yesterday before we left. A puzzle we had solved last night, the final for a wherigo we did yesterday, and another 15 stage Wherigo. Then it was a few more caches en route.
Set up in Blackall for a while now.
Thank you to the local COs for developing and maintaining the caches. You are much appreciated.

TFTC a favourite for me. What a great place to come and look around. The gentleman there was a character and he was so friendly and nice.
Day 6 of our little driving holiday
A couple of nights in Blackall - and time to grab a few caches too
Nice little letterbox ... but like others spent a bit of time trying to find it
OK - the reluctant geocaching partner actually found it ...
Signed and replaced - nice little park [^]
Favourite - because I like appropriate / decent letterboxes too [^]
thanks for the cache

We enjoyed our passing visit to Blackall, book-ended by two EarthCaches and visiting this Letterbox in the middle. Nice place, and a great way to explain where the box is hidden.
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
09/01/21 Today caching around Blackall and surrounds. Roadtrip Mackay to Emerald to Barcaldine to Aramac to Blackall to Jericho over the next 3 weeks. Lots of puzzle solving before and during trip. Searched area and found GZ . Replaced and signed log. TFTC SL
My 500th geocache find! This was a family affair cause my family members got to GZ quicker than me and quickly spotted the cache *hidden in plain sight*. Thought I’d try something a bit different and do a letterbox hybrid for my 500th. And I like trains and so a railway themed cache seemed like a good choice.
I am heading up to Barcaldine region for a week of family time and of course geocaching. Sorry for the generic post. Especially because I am going to find a lot. TFTC
Today was the fifth day of my little journey to outback Queensland. Another great a day!
After a phone call from willis007 a plan was made to meet up in Blackall. So that the next day we could do the power trail together.
For me it meant driving back and grabbing caches I missed along the way, which worked out perfectly.
I started my drive back, this was a difficult find; i spent 35 mins walking around the site trying to figure out where it could be due to the coordinates having me on the bridge. then i just looked around and thought its got to be up there, sure enough it was, not an easy find but a frustrating but rewarding one.
All good with this cache and with it found and log signed I returned it as found, thanks for placing it here, I enjoyed the drive today.

Day 2 of my outback road trip - Mitchell to Blackall via Tambo. Arriving in Blackall, I checked into my Motel then quickly headed out again to find more caches. No time to relax on a caching holiday
Arriving at gz with the code in hand, I looked around and wasn't able to spot anything. After turning around I spotted something 'over there' which made sense, so went to check it out. It was the cache!
After entering the code, the letterbox was opened. Log signed, cache replaced as found - all is well with this cache.
Thanks KerryL62 for the cache.

Left a travel bug however there was not the TB in there it said there was 7 ducks farewell on your adventure
Wandered around the artefacts and peered about for the letterbox. Widened the search and spotted something just out of my reach but that’s what tippy toes are for. Maybe it’s been moved as definitely not a T1 now Already had the code and quickly had the logbook out and signed. Roughly 13m off the coords.
Replaced where I found it. If the CO would like it relocated, plz let me know? Thinking it’d be better off in one of the cubby holes beneath the shelving. Well worth a visit to check out the rusty old things.
TFTC KL62 Dropping a FAVE point here.

Outback roadtrip Day 3 - Blackall and surrounds. Left the van park before dawn to hit the road early and do a big loop away from town. Caches were mostly in excellent condition.
This one had me searching near the bridge as that's where the GPS indicated. Applied some logic and the container was soon located safe and dry. Added my stamp like you're supposed to. Had a good look around the machinery, some cool stuff here. Adding an FP

Thanks for giving us a reason to visit, **KerryL62**. Our log is trackable, mention this cache.

This was a nice start to our day. The history was interesting and we had a good look around. The cache was easily found. TFTC and a favourite for bringing us here.
TFTC. Love these caches with the history behind them. Much appreciated for your hide.
Another hot day was in store so we tried to get going early with ilook4geo to get some caching done in the morning. We had a reasonable day but the heat did slow the hunt down, as we did not want to suffer heat exhaustion. Took lots of water to drink.
We enjoyed the caches we found, signed the logs, replaced all as they were found and hurried back to the car for protection from the heat. Thanks go to KerryL62 for placing this cache.

Spent the day caching in the Blackall area with goingplaces2, but it was very hot, so some we just passed by. Thanks for this cache.
We needed to return some unused promotional aterial to the Visitor Information Centre this morning so took the opportunity to sign the log.

In town for QOGM 2019.We have had a wonderful weekend with friends old and new. Our thanks to the organisers and CO's for all they have done to make the weekend so great.
I've had some technology issues over the weekend so instead of logging in order, I am logging today what I know we have found just to clear the backlog.
All caches were in good order, our TB's visited each cache. TFTC
Over thought this one
