After leaving Blackall, we stopped along the highway to look for caches on the road to Barcaldine. This was one of them. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The original sistema has disintegrated and another cacher has replaced it with a glass jar. Thanks KerryL62 for the cache.
Hi I found it. The plastic container had broken down replaced it with a glass jar
Cache container in very poor condition. Have turned it upside down to try to protect contents a bit. TFTH

We came for QOGM 23, and sadly the show is over. Now we're making our way south and grabbing some more old QOGM caches as we go.
Heading west with Patrol14 to attend QOGM23 and picking up some caches along the way that we had missed on previous trips. Can't leave coloured spots when I want all Smilies here. Quick find and log signed before replacing as found. TFTC
On our way to Longreach for QOGM2023, Imbunda and I are grabbing caches that we missed on our previous trips out West for QOGM. This was another group of caches we missed but made short work of them.Made a quick find. Log signed cache returned.TFTC KerryL62
After a good nights sleep in Augathella it was time to hit the road and make our way to Longreach for QOGM, however, plenty of stops were made along the way to towns such as Tambo, Blackall, Barcaldine, Ilfracombe and bunch of other random locations to grab a variety of caches. Great scenery and experiences. This trip will be one to remember, especially since weve never ventured this far out before. Thanks for bringing us here.#3840 - TFTC
Well my trip up to QOGM has officially started and I’m taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there.
So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so it is time to start heading west.
I have never been up this way before so it will be interesting to see what towns I come across in my travels.
So after spending a great night in Morven it was now time to head North to Barcaldine to hopefully make one of the first unofficial QOGM events before QOGM officially starts.
I left nice and early as I had a few caches earmarked to find on the way up.
This one was a DNF from back in 2017 and since I was back up here I had to try and rectify that one.
Cache soon located so a yellow smiley for me.
Thanks KerryL62 TFTC.

32,950. Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 15. Today we headed from Blackall up to Barcaldine cleaning out more caches. A few nights there will hopefully let me clean out the area before the move to Longreach and the main event (actually lots of events). We keep bumping into fellow Cachers which has been a lot of fun and will keep getting better and better at QOGM itself. This was the next find of the day. A quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, usually as F65 A33, replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs for putting out these caches !!
We are on our way to Longreach for the QOBM event next week. As we missed all the previous events, it is now time to grab some of the caches in the area.
Another big day doing some of the trails between Blackall and Barcaldine.
Stopped off here and found after a short search.
Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.

On the hunting trail with SeasonedBird while on a slow roundabout route to QOGM 2023 at Longreach. Day 6 on the JPT trail. Based in Blackall for the next few days to continue clearing the local map. A quick find here. It’s a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Slowly working our way back to Cairns after attending Qogm 2022. Did your Off the Beaten Track today. 14 October 2022 2:47 pm Tyfc KerryL62 total caches now 5849 .
We travelled 8,500km through 5 states for a 60th birthday party over approx. 6 weeks. We endured many days over 35C and then saw a lot of water in the eastern states. We enjoyed travelling east with family and then they travelled back to Alice and we made our way home to SA, trying to dodge the rain and wet weather.
Caching is a great way to see the many wonderful sights and learn about the places we are travelling through.
Thank you to those who take the time to hide caches

Set up camp for the night at Douglas Ponds free camp and took a late afternoon wander along the track to find this cache. All good here. Thanks KerryL62
We pulled off the main road and into this lovely area. Although the creek bed below us was quite dry, the mud around the car park was still a lot of puddles and wet tyre tracks.
After parking the car away from the mud, we walked to GZ where we made a quick find.
Thanks KerryL62

Nice track to it. Great cap last night but so Manny mozzies, none in morning. Tftc cycling southwards.
This cache is one of numerous caches that I found on my trip from Charleville to Barcaldine. I found most of the caches were either too small (the area lends itself to much larger cahes than nanos, bison tubes and mint tins), the coordinates were out, or there was no real reason to have a cache there except to boost numbers. Which is a pity because the area is full of history and magnificent views and wonderful spots that geocaching could bring people.
I have this cache on my list of finds, so my name is in the log book, but I don't remember actually finding the cache.
I did however have an amazing drive, full of scenery. Just a pity about the caches.

Day 8 of our adventure to Townsville Mega. Stayed at Augathella last night, driving to Barcaldine today. New caches on the road that we haven't found yet. Quick find, stamped log and returned. Thanks to CO.

Day 8 of our 2022 northern escape to pick up LGA's we had visited prior to Geocaching.
Still another 3 days before our first but taking the time to grab caches we previously missed or have been placed since our last visit.
19 today to help our numbers.
Surprised by this one.

A change of plan in my travels as some of the roads further west were closed. So I decided to head to Blackall. Along the way, I stopped to find a couple of caches that I had missed last time I was in this area. There were muggles at the picnic table near a nearby cache, so I headed to this one first. This cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
We noticed this green dot, went and are surprised about that huge rest area.

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia on Cape York Peninsula, traveling along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, out to Noccundra and through Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns, then out to Weipa and up to the top. Based myself at the Barcoo River Camping Area at Blackall for two nights, heading out each day to do a circuit of caches in the area. Thanks for the cache KerryL62!
And this would be the undoing of us staying on track. Love old roads that are forgotten.
Well, this journey started about 12 months or more ago, skip 2020 and we find ourselves planning a long-overdue road trip. This means one thing ... a cache run would be involved. One or two different routes where planned caches were studied, some more than others (manly puzzle styles), and a plan was hatched.
It includes the most number of puzzles we have ever solved personally, Wherigo's, and even a few 'FTF' (FTF) FTF caches. The distance that was driven is approx. 3500 km. Over some 10 days. 14km of muddy, red, and black soil 4wd only slip-sliding heart-pumping road - which we got through without incident only to get bogged a while later on the side of a tar road doing a U-turn.
The total number of caches found is yet to be determined, could also depend upon my logging them, as those who know me also know my lack of logging or length of time to do so could mean the correct total will never be shown. Still, it’s not about the numbers.
Logs have been signed with any one of the following, JABs, FWBs, TasReach, MEMO, or TR. Often depended upon who was signing the logbook, time of the day, length of the days caching run, sleep-deprived state, condition of the logbook. Penned often in the first available spot (except in the case of new cache), in between other cache's names. Hopefully to help extend the life of a logbook. The date was not often recorded, again to save room and maybe a little time.
Distance travel is undetermined, basically, fly from Hobart to Brisbane, drive northerly to Gympie, out through Gayndah, Monto to the Westwood, and then turn west straight out to Longreach, with a part-day layover to collect all those 92 solved puzzles. Home is hopefully via Jericho, south through Mexico and into Blackall then down and cross to Roma, Toowoomba Brissie and fly home.
Meeting up with great family friends of ours to share part of this journey MEMO, the cache name TasReach or TR for short was born, been both Tasmania and Longreach. So wished each cache could have its own story, but in that case, I would never finish logging. So I thought a long story was better than a TFTC. But hey thanks for the cache anyway.
JABs.

We opted to park the caravan and car at the camping area and walk the short distance to this one. After that it was a simple straightforward find
After a few extra days in Blackall than we had envisaged due to the rain it was time to move on. But only as far as Barcaldine. All places to stay within town are booked out so we decided try Lloyd Jones Weir as something different. It sounded promising and sure is a great area. Picked up a few caches along the way.
Our thanks to all the local COs for creating and maintaining the caches.

06/01/21 Today caching to Blackall and surrounds. Roadtrip Mackay to Emerald to Barcaldine to Aramac to Blackall to Jericho over the next 3 weeks. Lots of puzzle solving before and during trip. Searched area and found GZ . Replaced and signed log. TFTC SL

Today was the fifth day of my little journey to outback Queensland. Another great a day!
After a phone call from willis007 a plan was made to meet up in Blackall. So that the next day we could do the power trail together.
For me it meant driving back and grabbing caches I missed along the way, which worked out perfectly.
I started my drive back, this was an easy find.
All good with this cache and with it found and log signed I returned it as found, thanks for placing it here, I enjoyed the drive today.

It was time to get on the road again with ilook4geo and go cache hunting in another area. An early start was good, especially as it was forecast to be a hot day again. This was one of our finds for the day. Each log had our names noted on it. all were put back into place and we hurried back to the air conditioned car. Thanks go to KerryL62 for placing this cache for us to find and enjoy.
As it was hot, we only did some caching in the morning as we were on the road again. Caches were found, logs were signed, job was done! No problem with this one. TFTC.

Queensland Outback Geomuster 2019 trip to Blackall. Day 7. With the events officially over, I had a few more days to see how many caches I could collect around the region. Today I concentrated on getting the caches within about 50km of Blackall. There was a wide variety and a few short trails. I even was helped into finding a few old DNFs in town.
Thanks.

Today was a good day for a short drive back up the road to collect those caches we did not stop for on the way to blackall so it was a nice day to find those that were passed. This was a good few caches to collect and we managed to find the remaining 7 Caches along the way.
Well after just driving along this road and that road we soon arrived at the GZ and headed to the indicated location and the cache was soon in hand, signing the log we returned it to the lcoation and was on our way again.
Thanks KerryL62 for placing these caches for us to add to our collection.

Moving today from the caravan park to the River camp. Bit of a slow start and then Roostaman was knocking! if David could go play [?]
Camp all set up and off to find the last of our unfound caches around town.
What a great camp all the way back here it would be. Seems lots have been here in the past.

Any detour off the beaten track this morning was fraught with muddy danger
Yep !! It's the fourth day of the pesky rain and drizzle hanging around
I swear the wet stuff follows me around !! [:o]
This delightful detour turned out OK,
the gravelly road wasn't too boggy,
but I wasn't driving off the edges
A short stroll to collect more mud on me boots,
and this cache was found with no problems [^]

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
We set up camp on the river, with all the other caravans... Great spot to base our selves while we cached.
After our last find and impersonations of monkeys, our boots were way to heavy to walk to this off the beaten track cache, so we drove in. Quick find at GZ Thanks KerryL
