Easy spotted on approach. Think the parents parked nearby waiting for the school bus drop off probably thought we were odd! TFTC!
With the current souvenir I am chasing 100 finds this month. Not an easy task to achieve back home. I figured a day in Omaha would make a great start. I had plans to visit my Mum's cousin in Warkworth later in the afternoon so it was bound to be a fun day. I stopped at the top of Dome Valley thinking I'd get myself sorted to perhaps grab the cache at Sheep World on my way through. Had a quick check of the emails as my phone had buzzed a few times while I was driving up. Rapidly changed my plans as I was only 21 minutes away from a potential ftf in the area. An empty logbook there was a great start to my day. I then carried on geocaching out this side and didn't make it to Omaha until about 1pm. Today was about numbers so I didn't do any walks. I was quite pleased to pick up lots of park and grabs for a tally of 28 finds and a clear some areas out of green dots. It was a bit surprising to see such a big monument in what seemed like the middle of nowhere. Loved the ship on the rear of the momument. A quick find of a signature G_2 bottle cap in the trees behind. Thanks for your hide
Interesting place for such a large memorial. Found the cache easily enough & then read the plaque. [TFTC]
Heading back from Goat Island this afternoon we stopped for one last cache. There were several cars parked just down the road from the memorial with parents waiting for the school bus to arrive. Luckily we were still able to zero in on GZ and make a discrete find. Thanks.
A plan was made with 3 other Westie ladies (Merlot, Nette and Supernannny) to head out to Goat Island as the weather was amazing - a perfect sunny and mild Autumnal day, just perfect for a road trip. A quick detour up this road, to this memorial which we did not know about. Cache was quickly located, and we were back in the car on our way to Goat Island. TFTC
What an interesting spot that we would have driven past none the wiser had this cache not been here.
We will have to read more about this family who are so prominent in these parts.
The cache was quickly located.

Stopped off here first as I'd spotted the named bridge back the ways last time. I'm working with a lady called Meiklejohn at the minute so took the time to grab a couple of pics after finding the cache. After searching a few options I read some recent logs and saw mention of a ground-dwelling variant. It was found there again, so wedged it back in place as per hint.
A trip out to the upper East Coast was our plan for Sunday, off to Tawharanui to start off and give our new camera and big lens a work out on the prolific bird life out there (the Takahe were tipped off and were a no-show). Then after a walk around we were off to the Goat Island peninsula walk for a view, stroll and a few caches. Grabbed a couple of extras when passing by too. Thanks to (both) COs for the caches.

This morning, there was a light drizzle, so I opted to do some P&Gs and short walks just in case I needed to make a quick run back to the car. This one fit the bill and was an easy find with a bit of information from a log. TFTC.
WE found the right tree but cache was Gl so it took us so longer to find than it should of. T4tc
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches

Nice find with woolwood9 while out geocaching today.
*We really enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

Thankfully the weather was playing its part this weekend, so with that in mind I planned a short trip of to the area for a spot of caching and back in 24 hours. Leaving after work on Friday and staying at Whangatea Holiday Park as it was fairly central to the scope of operations, and so an early start to try and collect what I had planned for the day. All logs signed "CD" to try to save space on the log for the CO's.
Rather happy with the day with managing to collect approx 55 caches with only the odd DNF, and still managed to be back in Hamilton by 4 pm (drive back home took a lot longer than the drive up here).
Heading back fomr out the point it was a quick stop here, very nice memorial too. Soon located the cacheaway from the hint item so returned it in place.
To all CO's thanks for the great caches and putting on such a wonderful days caching
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the adventure

(2999) Out with 0B80B8 today collecting some caches in the Warkworth area. A quick detour up the side road to collect this one. We also found the cache on the ground. Have hopefully replace in the right place and it will stay there this time. TFTC
What better excuse to head off for a days caching, than a new GCHQ challenge and some new souvenirs to earn. Headed off south with DaffyNZ to pick up as many as possible in the general Warkworth area.
After doing the Moir Hill walkway loop, we headed out towards Leigh. This one was a quick park and grab detour on our way out there. Cache was found on the ground again, but was replaced as per the hint, so hope it stays there this time.

I joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 today for a drive out to Matakana and Leigh. While in the area we went to the Sculptureum, Reptile Park and found a few caches. Found this one on the ground, but popped it back where it should be. TFTC!
Vistra and I were out for a drive to Leigh for the day and we decided to grab some caches on route. Once we parked safely we could explore, found on the floor so we put it back where we think it belonged. TFTC
Nice quick find ...first one on my Leigh Caching Day...
Thanks ...
Never been to this memorial before..

TF did his usual expert parking in the new caching wagon and the cache was soon located. Never noticed this spot before so thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
These Meiklejohns get around. They are certainly prominent settlers in these parts. Thanks
Just one more before heading home. Getting txt's now hassling me as I've been away since thursday in the motorhome doing some serious caching around the wider region. Guess I'd better hurry up and log this one before I head off. Nice hide, interesting history and feature which you don't see from the main road, thanks again TFTC.
Was woken up at 5.15 this morning by GAR to say there were a pile of new caches published just down the road. I was still real tired and it was nice and warm in the bed. Took about a half hour to get myself out of bed as I couldn't sleep anyway, deal to my morning work duties (takes about 10 minutes) and hop in the car with GAR. We decided to go towards Whangateau first and this was out first stop. Still dark I was conspicuous with my torch as a couple of cars went by on the road, turned it off for the first but the second caught me by surprise. Went to the right spot first but then saw my GPS was out so it took a couple of minutes to get back to the rights spot- the new approach had me spotting the likely spot immediately and soon had a blank log in my hand {FTF}! Didn't think anyone had gotten here before us but with a group of new caches and a Saturday it was likely some Aucklanders would come up for these promptly and we weren't sure. Thanks for another Saturday morning G--2 - this one much earlier than last week though!
Found it. My 82nd find and 6th of the day. First looked on the wrong side of the road then found it pretty quickly. GPS is very accurate. STF and TFTC
