WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 30 - Corrigin to Wickepin via Yealering. I woke to my first rain for the trip, and I had left stuff out, something I have not often done. I got a bit wet putting things away, before heading back inside till it stopped. I tried one cache in Corrigin and failed miserably, so went and bought a coffee in a very warm cafe, so tempting to stay, and got on the road. I managed a few caches along the road, including one tough cemetery multi at Yealering. Yealering also had a great range of caches along a sadly low lake and a great set of Labs, even if I saw no one around. The run to Wickepin went smoothly, but I missed the shop for bread for 10mins, oh well, lunch at the cafe before setting up at the caravan park. I did a few more caches in the afternoon, before sitting down and finishing solving the caches for tomorrow.Although the windmill was turned to off, the tail was wedged against a tree and the blades were full on into the wind. You could here the water punping. The tank could not have been full as none was flowing out into the trough, but it is great to see one in action. The cache was small, and there were plenty of places to look, so I was happy to see it.Thanks for the cache WheatbeltScience47030.1 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2024 Lackey giacaches A#543**Albida**

Currently on a 2 week holiday traveling around Western Australia. Driving back towards Perth from Wave Rock with 3 other muggles in 2 cars. Tricky to stop and grab caches when no one else wants to do this was a super fast Park and grab. Used a recent photo to know where to search. TFTC! From Brisbane. #1498
8:54 Quick stop here. ***I was due to have a day to myself without children, so of course I ignored all the school assessments what I needed to do. I woke up before the sunrise, bought a coffee, blueberry danish pastry and sushi box from local bakery and off I was. Today I headed south, picking up geocaching on the way to Corrigin and from there to Kulin. It was beautiful autumn day to spend geocaching. Left home before 7. 7:29 The first geocaching stop - Tank Alley - Solar13:24 The last geocaching stop - Kulin # 36 Tin Horse Highway No 2 Back home 15 o'clock. Most of the caches was easy to find. Found 47 caches.
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we arrived in Perth by plane this morning. We picked up our rental car and drove to Hyden. We stopped at this windmill along the way and this cache was found there.**WheatbeltScience**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Very early today we had a flight to Pert from Adelaide. We had uneventful flight, had a bit of trouble getting our rental but now we are on our way to Hyden. The adventage of an early flight is that we arrived early and have almost a full day. So we take it easy. We also had a stop here admired the view and the train. The cache was spotted by one teammember who was too short to retrieve it. Luckily the other teammember is longer so logging was no problem Thank you very much for this cache.
Heading north cherry picking caches to fill our LGA. Good when we find ones with good pull over for the van. Tftc

We headed down to Pingrup to spend some time on the farm, of course we had to collect some caches along the way. Happy to say we came up trumps and walked away with a smilie here today TFTC
Driving past on my way to Kulin to find the Tin Horse Highway Series I pause a while to make a quick find of this cache. Thank you for the information about the problems associated with the water table.
So interesting I didn't know this aspect of the water table situation and the water pipe
The coordinates were off by around 5 metres on this one for us- even sitting for minutes did not help with the GPS. We knew where we should be looking though and after a short search (while pretending not to be searching while so muggles cars drove past) we found it. Thanks for the fun WheatbeltScience.
Heading back towards Perth crossing off more LGAs as I go. The weather was atrocious today, I only stayed dry at the first find of the day. I spent the rest of the day shivering.
This is where I got the most soaked today, took me an age to firstly spot the cache and then remove it. Signing duties completed under cover of the 'roof' and cache replaced as found. TFTC

Visiting from the east and heading to the WAGB event and caching along the way and at the event and areas around Narrogin then on to Kulin and back to Perth via a quick visit to Albany. Thanks to all the various COs for placing caches (or EC and virtuals) for us to locate, learn and explore. Signing as Team East+2.
Out and about caching toda. After arriving at GZ and searching, finally found the cache and signed the log. TFTC
Day two of staying in the local area with geo friends for a few days and really love the amazing tin art present all around the town and highways, some were quite humorous.
During our travels, to save space in the logbooks, we are signing mostly as Team East.
Stopped in this lovely little town for lunch and picked up a few caches, and this was one of them.
Thanks, WheatbeltScience, for placing this good and well positioned hide

We are heading down south from Geraldton for a few days mainly aiming on picking up LGA's, Adventure labs and virtual's and anything else that comes close on our planned trip.
This cache is in thenext lga we required, a Bit out of the way but a very pleasant little town we drove through to have a bit of a look at it before coming back to try and look fort this.
The coordinates for excellent but it took much longer than should have to be able to locate as we missed it the first time round but after searching in a wider area we came back to where we started and this time came up with the goods.
Our name has been added to the log.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.

Back in Feb we were sitting in NSW after finding a cache in 3 different states on 1 day. kenbryl mentioned hitting all the states and territory’s this year as our mission. Well that’s a bit ambitious, but considering our mission for last year wasn’t fulfilled due to covid we figured we could give this one a good hard crack.
February saw us hit QLD and NSW
March we road tripped to SA
May we flew to Tassie
June we roadtripped to ACT
Last Monday we flew from VIC to WA
Next month we are heading up to NT
Today we zig zagged across Albany and surrounds to find a few caches which were on our lists.
We have definitely left enough for ‘next time’ lol.

TaurusSix and I have decided to make an early start on Easter and tack an extra day onto the Easter Break so we could spend more time exploring inland regional WA. The original intention this Thursday was to take our time meandering from Bunbury to Hyden and onto Wave Rock and of course geocaching along the way. However when we realised there was a FTF to be had in Narrogin we decided to head straight there first thing this morning. When we reached Williams we did a refresh of the app and noted it was still unfound fingers crossed we would make it in time and very happy to report that we did which continues our FTF monthly streak.
Now after that excitement of the early morning we can continue our meandering from Narrogin to Hayden geocaching along the way.
This is our fourteenth cache find of the day. Very clever enterance to town and the windmill story is also interesting. Parked on other side of road and was surprised how busy the road was to cross. Cache quickly found and logged. TFTC

Continuing my adventure, I was picked up by a truckie in Hyden as he was heading back to Perth. At first I was going to ha e him drop me at Corrigin but he agreed to stop for 5 minutes whilst he had a smoke. Another LGA checked as I've checked off 4 new LGAs in the past two days. TFTC
As we passed through the town I needed a find for this LGA. Stopped at this one and had a quiet find. Found an off road track to turn around with the caravan behind.
Thanks for the hide

We checked the windmill first then looked at the other option. Cache was running quickly after that.
It's always fun finding caches while we travel.

I have to admit it took me 5 minutes before spotting it. The hint threw me off. All good otherwise. TFTC
Yay easy find for geo kid thank you!
May have been magnetic once, but definitely not now

A quick find as we had the caravan in tow. This one gets a favourite as I loved reading the history of windmills, water and salt in Corrigin.
Bumped into neva2old and the mongrel who had just made the find when we arrived. Nice spot. TFTC WheatbeltScience
