A quick find. Geodog loved this one the most. Left behind a friend since she felt like she belongs. With magicaltrooper
My last one. Really enjoyed this walk and caching along the way. Didn't take me as long as I thought probably due to great co ordinants & clues when needed. Thank you Gracie+mum
A quick, easy find at the start of the track. Hoping to make it some of the way along, if my poorly knee allows. TFTC

Came here after breakfast and completed the whole walkway. Found every cache along the way but some did a few minutes to get. Had a brief snack at the Point.
I almost came away empty handed from this one and its the easiest of all to find!

Walking the Point Elizabeth Track from Rapahoe to Cobden collecting geocaches along the way; TFTC
Thanks for hiding this cache hazedarus I appreciate it. Our first one on the way up to Elizabeth Point. JDScout and I have stayed in Greymouth for 2 nights and will stay tonight before heading back home.
We wanted to walk a bit for our second day in the region and opted for the Point Elizabeth Walkway. Temperature was ok, but the sky didn’t announce good news. But we were optimistic and started the hike, some rain would not hurt.
Had to check several possible hides for the first.
Thank you for the well maintained mini trail

Getting closer to the end now. After a number of dnf on the first section of the track to the point it was great to find all the caches on the northern section. A fav for the series TFTC
Due to the the COVID-19 pandemic it has been four years since we last made the long trip from California to New Zealand to visit our kiwi kin. In addition to enjoying our time together we are enjoying finding some geocaches, too.
On our way home from a weekend on the west coast we made a short rest stop here. While we didn’t see any frolicking seals we did enjoy skipping stones across the river and finding the cache after a short search. TFTH

Spending the winter woofing, tramping and exploring the west coast caching along the way ..of course..
Back in greymouth for a while working at the Noah's ark backpackers...so a good base to tick off a few more..
Set myself a mission to hit 8000 finds by the end of the year...that's an average of 6 a day ..
First one on the track but the last for me to find as there were muggles close by when I started..quick find tftc

I was here with Nana and Grandad, The weather was a bit dodgy but we had our wet weather clothes and warm hats so Nana said lets go for a walk anyway. I really enjoyed this whole walk and I want to do more walks like this. Thank you for putting the caches here for us to find
I wasn't really very keen to go walking in the rain as I thought it would not be fun, but it turned out to be a good easy walk and I really enjoyed myself. I even bet the others to finding some of the caches. Thanks for putting them here for us to find
We were about half way through our long weekend visit to the Greymouth area with two of our grandsons. We had been to pancake rocks and spent a couple of hours wandering around. The weather was not very flash, there had been strong winds and rain during the night time and not very good weather forecasted for the afternoon.
We had spent time in the carpark having lunch and talking about if we really wanted to take the kids on this walk with the potentially crappy weather. We had raincoats, wet weather leggings and umbrellas for us all so we decided that we were not going to get wet or too cold no matter what the weather threw at us.
I thought with so many caches along this track the grandies would get plenty of opportunities to stop and rest while we were searching for the caches. The track turned out to be a lot easier than I thought it may have been so there were absolutely no complaints from the kids.
This was a nice easy find in the first place I looked. Thanks for placing this cache to inspire us to come and walk along this track, and thank you for the smiley

This track has been annoying me for a while. On previous trips thru Greymouth the weather hasn't been good. So today was the day to get them
Decided on a walk on the Elizabeth point track and grab some of the caches along the way. Well we were hoping to get them all but it wasn't to be.
Thus was a nice quick find. TFTC

Found whilst driving north with GSEL. Number 10268. One day I will have to come back and do the rest of the walk, which sadly we didn't have time to think about today. TFTC
#10,086. Day 4 of the geocaching road trip. Infoferret and I flew down from Wellington on Wednesday and have spent a couple of nights in Greymouth. But its time to leave now and head to our next lodgings in Westport. We have geotour caches to find, some adventure labs and a lot of solved puzzles on the way. Will pick up any traditional caches if we have time. The weather is still holding out and its another fine, warm, sunny spring day.
Making our way north and stopped for this cache. Yes this track looks like a must do on a future trip to Greymouth. But today we have to stop along this road and get a series of caches before heading to Denniston. I didn't see the container on the first sweep but IF had sharper eyesight and soon had the cache in hand. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks hazedarus for hiding it here.

The weather looked ok for the morning, so we decided to come for a walk with the whole whanau. The youngest self-propelled member of the family was the keenest and she located them all! I was entrusted with the pen and signed logs as Team Polak. TFTC!!
I went for a late afternoon walk on the walkway this afternoon. Walked out to the Point and back from the Rapahoe end. I really enjoyed the walk, the bush, and the scenery. Found this one on the way back. TFTC
Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
Weather today was unsettled with rain at times.

A nice quick find here, unfortunately dogs are not allowed beyond this point so I will do more of the track another day. TFTC
After a night in Reefton - and a big walk there on the hills.... it was time to head to the coast.
I stopped in Greymouth for food and decided not to stay - but to travel further northward.
I walked a nearby waterfall track.... then headed to this stretch of caches. Darkness isn't too far away - so I need to be quick. My thoughts were to grab a handful and then turn around - but temptation set in.
Last one... should have been the first but I had someone hot on my tails when I got out of the car. A good easy find in the dark for me now.

The west coast from Franz-Josef-Glacier to Westport completed today in continuous rain. We already thought that we could not get out at all today and look for a caches in the rain. But here in Rafahoe the rain god had an understanding.
Short search and logged.

Point Elizabeth is one of the recommended tourist walks so we packed lunch and trotted off. Lots of caches, ummm yes, but suppose a power trail like this is okay when you are only strolling. This walkway must be along the same gold-bearing raised beach terrace as the Mt George seat?
It was a sunny avo and we had a bit of spare time and a lovely wife who would pick us up at the other end, so off the two young un's and I went. Great walk thanks hazedarus, the kids really loved it. Cheers, the first of the wander found by the youngest.
After waking to a nice sunny day, a plan was hatched to get three separate walks in. First was up Mt George where we got covered in mud, then on to Coal Creek where our mud was getting us some funny looks. Once finished there our group split into two so we could do a car swap along the Point Elizabeth track.
Last one for today and it was a wee bit prickly but found easily enough. tftc

(# 5379). Today is day 6 of my West Coast trip. Today is a lot brighter after all the rain. Today's plan of attack was clear up some caches in Runanga then do some of the Point Elisabeth Walkway from the north. No chance of completing it as time would not allow it. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
Spied a bit of colour and so did what the title suggested. Now off to find my car which was left behind by the SoBads when they started the walk from here. Great planning to do the walk that way. Last time I went to the point for caches I left the passenger here with the car while I made the return trip. TFTC # 14,552
Last cache of a wonderful walk. Now time to go check out our accommodation, toss the clothes in the machine and have a bit of a break before doing our bit for the local economy at one of the coast's very hospitable pubs. Thanks for your contribution to a great day caching !
We parked the car of other cachers here and got in behind and then further in to walk the track. Key swap in the middle made it a great way to spend the afternoon.
Thanks
Thanks
Nice find, cant wait to come back and do this track, but for today I'll stick with one, TYFTC
Found with the mighty kumera - enticed to walk the trail for the caiches. TFTC
Only stopped here because of the large line of caches,

This walk was on the maintenance do-to list and Mum had an Office-Only day at work today. The weather was great so we left Mums car at the Cobden end and got Ariestiger to chauffeur us to the Rapahoe end and we walked from there. We checked all of the caches on the track. This one is all good
Found this one while on a holiday away from our home in Whangamata. Thanks for the cache
Found with NZDi on a two day West Coast caching adventure. NZDi asked what the weather forecast was like for the 'Coast' for the weekend early in the week and when I said Friday and Saturday looked good, but Sunday was shite, she promptly booked a night in Greymouth and told me to sort out some caching to do. Taking a look at the geocaching map, I noticed the nice geo-trail of mainly traditional caches along the Point Elizabeth walkway and another geo-trail of mostly puzzle caches (about half solved) along the starting 11 kms of the West Coast Wilderness Trail.
With that as a target, I started researching the caches an solving some puzzles and blagging some puzzle coordinates off fellow cachers. On Thursday night we prepared for an early getaway the following morning and were on the road by 7.00am. The intention was to grab a few strategic caches along the route to Greymouth with a view to eventually turning the road into a path of gold, (well at least yellow). After getting four, all before Inagahua Junction, we abandoned that part of the plan as we would still be caching the route next week.
During the weekend we signed our logs either in full or abridged to KM + ND depending on space and log condition, with whichever one of us who found the cache name first.
After doing the first half of the Point Elizabeth Walkway geo-trail, we decided to do the other half from the Rapahoe end as we intended to do the Coal Creek waterfall caches this afternoon as well. So this was the first cache on this end of the track. We noticed the sign on the gate which referenced the cache title from some distance away and this was confirmed as c:geo counted down towards zero. A quick search in the obvious place soon had the cache in hand.

4 for 4 today as I started the Point Elizabeth walk, but didn't have enough usable daylight to do the whole thing. TFTC
Great spot for the sunset. Easy park n grab while watching a whitebaiter. Thank you for the cache
We walked up to the Point today to do some maintenance. We parked here and decided to check these other ones on the way past. The piece of hose was off the log so we put it back on but otherwise All is good here.
Last cache found on the track. This track was just amazing, it was much more than I expected. As there were a few DNF's I'll be back to complete and run this amazing trail again.
I arrived at the gate at the same time as a large group of women. I let them at through first. Sometimes there is an ulterior motive for being polite as soon as they were out of sight I grabbed it quickly. Thanks for placing hazedarus

On the way back now and grabbed this extra I missed out on yesterday as I turned round too soon. Found an ex-tagz thing inside, garbbed for my collection. All good and found and replaced despite the proximity of a group of teenage girls setting off along the track. T F T C hazedarus
First up I was awake on pre daylight saving hours and awake at 5.15 and ready to go. Way too early for that sort of stuff so after a pre-pack of my gear, and another Maccas breakfast I grabbed a few in the early morning haze.
Day 3 of the West Coast trip and the day to head back to sunny Marlborough. I'd been tracking the weather forecast all week and today was supposed to be showers for most of the day so the plan was to find as many caches before the weather set in for a spell so I decided that a concerted effort on a few more Greymouth caches was required before heading back home via Pancake Rocks and Westport. I'd travelled that road a few times before, but still had some patches of unfinished business here and there. As it was I got home just about oj dark but with a pleasing haul of another 30-plus caches which made my first 3 days of April as prolific as my first 3 months of 2018!
Will try and log specific experiences where I recall them, otherwise it's thanks to the efforts of all COs for their placements.
Easter weekend 2018 is here and I have a cunning plan. Well, a caching plan, but what's the difference? With mrs and daughter working over the weekend and me with a few days off work there was a chance to convert some of my solved puzzles over on the West Coast into smiley faces. And add to my West Coast caching total. And do the Point Elizabeth walk, and several other appealing strolls. And some other stuff and all the way along gaining extra points for the planetary Challenge thingy to gain some electronic 2D Geo-souvenirs. And so, setting off around 0730 on Easter Sunday with the trusty mountain bike aboard (for the Greymouth beach-side track) I clocked up just under 1000 kms by road, a few extra on 2 wheels and several more on 2 feet, quite the trip. The threatened rain only arrived on the second afternoon in Hokitika (by which time I'd done my walks for the day) and the drive back from Greymouth via Westport was in blazing Autumn sunshine - Beautiful. Fantastic scenery all around and a large number of caches from b&w and gracie7&mum helped the total to just over 180 finds.
An awesome few days which my family wouldn't have enjoyed, but conversely actually would have, for the most part. An FTF in Reefton on the way through on Day 1 was another bonus, and monkey off the back for the monthly streak. A few DNFs which is to be expected with that many looked for, but a lot of good sights and experiences too. Thanks to all the COs for their placements.

A few hours to spare this morning so thought I would finsh off the walk and try to nab the rest of the caches missed 3 got 12 in the end 2hr for the round trip. Bitsprayer
Other end of the walk. We drove up. Took a few minutes but soon in hand. Cache OK.
Day2 of the bro's (BaldEd + Tufty) caching tour of Greymouth and the surronds. Off on the great exercise of the day - the Point Elizabeth Walkway. Thanks for the cache hazedarus.
Out with BaldEd today to walk the Point Elizabeth Walkway hoping the weather doesn't turn nasty as forecasted earlier on.
Today is not too hot for a good walk.
Cheers for the cache.

VikingNav and I are driving from Greymouth to Westport today and enjoying the beautiful weather and sunshine after a full day of rain yesterday. We decided to stop ast as Many caches as possible today since we had such a short distance to travel today. I love the coastline along the West Coast. It's just breathtaking. This cache was a quick find for us. Thanks for placing it here for everyone! >^..^
Traveling from Greymouth to Westport, stopping for caches and to see the country side. A great sunny day for caching. Stopped to take a look at the coast. TFTC
The usual formula for something like this: you either need 2 GPS or 2 cars. So for us it was dropping of half of the team here and moved the car around. After this we walked from from both ends. Really enjoyed the walk and the caches on a beautiful day. Stunning views and not too many muggles around. Thanks for having us on this walk again. TFTC
A nice quick find. Cheers.
A nice walk around the Point Elisabeth walkway (twice! there and back) Took about 3 1/4 hours with no dnfs,. Thanks to all the CO's for their caches. Cheers.

#14869. It was good to be nearly back at the car park, after dropping the car several hours before. Still, the car shuffle was worth the effort as it would have been a long walk back. TFTC.
