TeamSmokeyBear and myself decided, while the bear is away, we will play and go hunting a cache or two. after considering our options, we picked a few fro the local area.
Once we went on the long walk to GZ we arrived. A cache guardian greeted up from above, telling us we could not pass. Gentle persuasion from a stick brought Harold from the tree to the ground safely where he was relocated to another tree.
A scale up for Ms SmokeyBear we have decided we need a small step for the next time so I can climb.
The cache was signed and placed back as it was found. great hide. TFTC

Should of checked closely the cache page and the terrain. Too much for a 74 year old. Spotted the prize and it looked in good order.
Thanks S-38

This was the last one we needed to find in the series. Geoboy and I had a team effort to get up to get this one. Now I have to see if I can find Where I have written all the other clues for the rest of the series to get the final As we did the rest of this series about three years ago.

come, come to the sanctuary

but
don't follow the lights

this sanctuary proved labyrinthine in design
no maps, no signs, no salvation
flattened grass paths that disappear into thick rushes
bridges that flit like will-o-the-wisps
all the while the steady humdrum of traffic echoing around your skull

but persevere
there is a way, long-forgotten, through the marshes
stop in at the llamas, their studs are long worn away but you might still coax some spiritual guidance out of them
but they will never speak of their precious treasure

go careful now
or you go down and join the dead ones
and light little candles of your own

Lovely walk to find this cache. It was a tricky one!

Day1976 and I cached around Bunyip, due to our previous idea having been thwarted by too many people..
A bit of a rainy walk to get here, the ground being almost a small lake in some areas. We got a break in the rain as we arrived here, and day1976 gave me a leg up, and with a bit of a stretch I was able to push the cache out and down to day1976 waiting on the ground. Then putting it back again was even harder, luckily got it in without falling out of the tree.

Iluka and I's first option was to go caching at Mt Cannibal. But when we arrived the place was packed. car park was full and there were at least 30 cars up and down the street. So we drove past and headed into Bunyip to do the series there.

We enjoyed a wet, but otherwise lovely walk to GZ. Ilukaperi mmaade the climb, the first step assisted by me. She was able to knock the conatiner fromm its perch and I made the spectacular grab on the ground. Signed the log and passed it back up to be replaced.

It's our last day in Bunyip so after I'd packed up a few things, I decided to come out for a drive and see how many of the Bunyips & Billabongs series of caches I could find. I took along the young lad from the family camped next to us since he seems to be developing into a keen geocacher so far.
I feel a little guilty claiming this as a find since I didn't actually climb the tree [:i] however I wasn't given much of a chance! My young friend was up the tree like a monkey as soon as we had located the geocache and he wasn't keen on me climbing up even to pass him back the log book. However I am sure I would have been able to manage this climb had I had the opportunity.

Thanks for find #1610

With a great day out yesterday, DAB and I wanted to continue the fun exploring day out with some more finds. With the little Na'wal enjoying themselves with a few stops along the way playing at playgrounds, it allowed DAB and I make a few finds we had on our list. The morning was full of sun until about lunchtime when the weather turned. Still a great day out!

After getting up early to make the most of our time in the area making some finds, it was time to head back home. We still had a couple of caches on our list to find along the way. We studied the map on how to get in here and had no idea. We ended up parking about 350m away and enjoyed the walk in. The cache was spotted quickly and the retrieval took a few minutes to get up and make the grab.

After a good nights sleep, we awoke feeling refreshed and ready to tackle some more caches. We were planning on heading home around lunchtime and we still had a dozen hides to find. So after breakfast, we packed the car and got cracking !!

This one was found on our return trip to Geelong. Once we found a suitable parking spot, Na'wal was up the tree in a flash. TFTC S_38 Big Grin

We had a pleasant walk to GZ, but then walked around scratching our heads for some time. I had to revert to reading previous logs and then I looked in a more appropriate position. I found it a bit tricky accessing the log, but managed to get the job done. A favourite point for this one. Thanks S_38, we are enjoying this series.

With a fantastic weekend in Walhalla over, it was time to head home. On the spur of the moment we decided to finish off this series as there was still plenty of daylight remaining to hunt for caches.
Well of coarse the geo monkey was sent into the sanctuary to retrieve this one as this type of cache is right up his alley, or in this case up a tree!
Thanks S_38 for the monkey business.

This is such a beautiful little spot. Saw same kangaroos having their evening meal while we wandered past.
Went the longer way of the two to this cache, but with accurate coordinates we got to GZ without too many issues. Once there, a few well placed footholds later and the cache was in hand.
Thanks so much for bringing us to this lovely little neck of the woods.

*23 Dec 2018, Found @ 6:16 pm, Find # 8644.*

Today I headed out with biggles1024 to find a few caches before heading to tonight's event in Beaconsfield and we decided to tackle this series.
I wasn’t too sure about this one at first being a T4 tree climb but we went for a look anyway.
Finding our way to GZ was a bit tricky though as at first we tried the direct approach and we were blocked by blackberries so we turned around and found another way which was actually a track but was fairly overgrown but it was followed we came to a couple of bridges and we had then arrived at GZ were the cache was quickly spotted and getting up to it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, the log was signed and we headed back to the car.

**Thanks to S_38 for placing this cache.**

**Find #3370**
**Traditional Cache Find #2281**

I headed out this afternoon for an impromptu caching run with SteMicMitSar before this evenings event in Beaconsfield. Getting to GZ took quite some doing as none of the tracks that we eventually found were marked on any of our maps. Steve did the honours at the end and then we headed back out to the car.

Out and about with the Happy's on our annual birthday weekend away.
Was great to be finally tackling this series after hearing about it.
Success!!! For the first time in a long time I do believe we found the best way to Gz the first time.
Cheers for the cache.

Away for the weekend wtith omegaman and Happy pants, cleaning up some in the Drouin area, signing the logs under the team name HHO. Decided to stop and grab this series, as we start to head towards home. Once we had found the nearby multi in the reserve, once getting back on the track, we enjoyed another pleasant walk in to this GZ. After finding what we were looking for, it was then a matter of actually retrieving it. It was decided that Happy pants would be the monkey today, so after a bit of swinging and climbing, the log was in hand, signed and returned. We then enjoyed the walk out again, on this lovely sunny day.
Thanks S_38 for placing the cache for us to find

Grabbing another cache in the series as we are closing in on the last few hides and this one was by far the tallest one to get our hands on. After a little stroll through the bush we soon arrived at the gz and had this one spotted. A quick assessment of the retrieval needed and it was unanimous it was me that should do the honours, so after a short little climb and positioning l soon had the log in hand and signed. Grabbed the clue and headed back down onto terra firma. Thanks S_38 for the fun, challenging little hide.

Today we set off with Rebel Acts with the intent of making a sever dent in the current Space Challenge.
We began with the Space Endeavour series, making an early start and successfully completed all of it in pretty quick time. We then decided to cache our way back home, trying to focus on caches that both of us had not found.
After finding a number of caches on our way, with the freeway as an interruption we arrived at this series we had set our sights on.
We searched backwards and forwards for a way into this one but after having no luck decided the direct approach was our only option. So we wound through the scrub dodging denser stretches and blackberries along the way. It wasn't too bad, but we weaved around quite a bit!
Fortunately our final approach was clear and GZ open so we soon spotted the cache. It was Mr SKI's turn to take one for the team which he managed successfully despite falling heavily earlier in the day!
With the log signed and the cache returned we though we had found the easier path back, but this wasn't really the case. A roundabout path, tussocks, blackberries and fences meant the way back was longer and not really much easier.
Still, a smiley is a smiley!

Found On a Good Friday caching trip with Ski Pair, We travelled to do the Space Endeavour series and then picked up the Bunyips & Billabongs series on the way back to Warragul. The previous cache was called nashing of teeth, yes we began to do that on the next three caches, no idea on how to get to this seem like a bush bashing exercise. Thanks S_38 for the cache

Found on 7 Jan 2018 at 4:09 pm.
It had been a few weeks since Fleabag and I had headed out on a caching afternoon so we planned a couple of required D/T square caches and then did some free-styling of the area after that and ended up doing the excellent Bunyips and Billabongs series. Had a great time with no DNF's but quite a lot of flies at times.

This was the biggest dilemma of the day...that being where should we enter the park do carry our ladder from. Still don't know the answer to that question or whether we chose the correct spot but after some bush bashing through blackberries, spiky thistles and crossing a creek we finally got to GZ and were glad we actually brought the ladder it made it easier after the tiring walk in here. We then headed back via the nearby other Bunyip multi on the way back to the car and it was longer but easier than the way we went in.
Thanks S_38 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Spiffy- and I headed out for an afternoon caching. We had a couple of planned caches in the area and as we had a ladder and change of clothes we were ready for anything.... except all the flies. The Bunyip series looked like a good idea so off we went. We carried our tool 300+ metres to this with a prickly path and eventually got to GZ with Spiffy- reminding me it was the longest and heaviest tool they sold. And we probably could have got to cache without it! Cache signed and ee worked out the final. Then carried the tool another 500m back to car via another cache. Finally at the car we spent some time picking all the prickles from our shoes and socks that were annoying us. Thanks to S_38 for placing this cache.

Monkey business indeed. The Swaggies have been here before way back in November 2009 and 2010 for a Hi-pressure caches. But boy has the bush grown since then. As usual the main gate was locked but the after hours one was still open. The track was water logged so clicked the diff lock button in just to make sure we came out today. Squelched our way around the back looking for an opening but my navigator missed the vital one. Bugger! So as you do in caching, we took the direct route. Bad move here as it took us about 30 minutes just to get to the creek. Contemplated wading the creek, but spotted what looked like an old bridge further up so crossed there. Cache soon found and then we braced ourselves for the walk back. Then we found the right way in, bugger again! We could have driven here! A fav from me for the adventure.

Was almost at the gz when I realised I was on the wrong side of the creek. Looking at a log heading across the creek, first foot was on the log, which gave me enough of a view upstream to see the bridge.
Safely getting off the log, I crossed the nice old bridge and got to the GZ. After searching a couple of trees, the cache was seen. After just a short climb, the nice cache container was retrieved.
Interesting path tag found inside - Thanks Team Bambi
Thanks for the adventure S_38

FTF @ 20:32 #572
Well we were sitting at the kids house talking rubbish and I thought I'd check my email, and there it was another billabong cache, we have missed the first 2 FTF as we were to far away or busy. It was like already 19:45 and the email came through at 17:30 but I thought "hey why not" so I said to the kids that there has been a new cache published, we'll they all ran around like headless chooks and got all their warm clothes on. Mr Geo and myself wernt prepared at all, we only had 1 torch and both our phones were nearly flat. Oh well let's go have some fun. So we pulled up about 350m from GZ, there was kind of a track but we went bush and took the most direct route, we were at GZ in no time, found what we had to find...... that one was for mr geo, and the cache name become apparent to us in more ways than one lol lol I then said to Mr Geo "pass me the pen" which he replied "I thought you got it" Aaaahhhhh NO!!! No pen!!!!! Then Mr Geo said from above...... "get a stick and burn the end and write it in charcoal" so that is what I did!!
I felt so bad for the messy writing so I left one of our Pathtags!! That is the first one in the wild!! Lol. Thankyou for the adventure we had a ball!!!
