We decided to do an Artesian Bore Pool/Bath tour of NSW. This was our first bore pool on the trip. We have never been here before, we have visited two others about 10 years ago.We spent an enjoyable hour or so here and had lunch before heading to Burren Junction for the evening. Thanks for the earthcache geono, answers have been sent.
This was worth the drive. 12 degrees and raining and just on dusk. Great fun and even Mrs G jumped in! FP from us. TNLN TFTC
TFTC. Found it with Irondale.Irondale was with me and I am sending our combined answers with this log.Love your caches. Thanks
This camp stop was anything but boring! We arrived after dark in a tumultuous lightning storm with torrential rain. Fun setting up camp. After dinner under the generous shelters we soaked in the Artesian Bore Bath for an hour or so. Wonderful! Awoke to a colourful sunrise heralding a magnificent sunny blue sky day. Did the Pillaga Wetlands Walk before breakfast. Off to Lightning Ridge today. Thanks for bringing me here. Well worth a Favourite Point. TFTEC
Great location if I wasn't at work when I was there and on a deadline I would love to spend a few hours there
As I have been working in the area for nearly a year now, I frequent these baths regularly to soak away the aches of the week. Finally decided to do the cache here. Magic stop for the soul. TFTC
I was surprised to find that the Great Artesian Basin stretched out as far as Pilliga in NSW. There was a snake seen go under the concrete path at the pool just before I arrived. I gingerly approached and went around to the other end of the pool to feel and smell the water. We passed through Pilliga on our way to QOGM, taking the road less traveled.
Great overnight stop. A quick soak in the morning was a great way to start the day.
What a great area, great camping too.
I love it when there’s an EC in an area like this and we can learn too.

Apologies for the late log / January was REALLY busy.

Tftc Geono.
Just passing through today, so we did not enjoy the baths.
Even with the warm temperature of the water , the outside temp of 6 degrees is too cold for me.
Thanks for the information, it was nice to return to this site.

Day 3 of our adventure to Townsville Mega. Made this our lunch stop, with wazza9 . Got the required information, sent it information to the CO,'s. All good . Thanks to geono. Now time for a dip.
TFTC,
Came out here from Narrabri for the day and soaked the worlds problems away for a short while. Still to do the walk, grass is very long.
Will be back, visited trackables and added a favourite.

An amazing place to camp for a few days after a long trip across the Nullarbor, heading to the Townsville Mega in a few weeks

TFTEC. We stayed at Pilliga Bore31/7 and 1/8. Had a lovely 2 days there and did the wetland walk and loved that as well. Met some lovely people camping there and we had lots of fun. The Bore was great to soak in especially after walking into town and back again.
Photo of KeefOz at Pilliga Bore Baths
1. Sorry missed this
2. Underground water storage, usually permeable sandstone with impermeable layers above and below
3. Artesian water is warmer and with dissolved salts(sulphur in this case). River water is fresh

Found with Frazelle (submitted answers for both teams). Nice little earth cache and cool spot. Answers approved by co. Tftc
Camped overnight at the bore and enjoyed this natural wonder last night and this morning. T4TE$
Did not find this cache Bore-ing but very interesting.
The X-Trailers and I are travelling from SA to Gold Coast and then hopefully through to N.T and back down the center to my home.
It is a wet miserable day and water laying around everywhere.
Found the place nearly empty with only few campers at back still in their vans.
Didn't take a dip as too hard to locate bathers but did explore the area and walked around.
Have attached a photo of myself and forwarded answers on 16th October this year but dated log correctly.
Sorry for delay in forwarding.
A fav point from me.

Travelling with Earthlight as we travel around the country . Had been raining heavy for a few days, felt sorry for campers out the back surrounded by water . Sadly no swim for us today . Photo attached of Mick checking out the water . Liz,Earthlight had forwarded our answers and with cache owners permission now logging this cache .
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 10815.
It was a bit of a slippery drive across from the radio telescope to this one but I eventually I made it through. The heat when I got out of the car at the baths nearly knocked me over and then when I felt the water temperature I certainly wasn’t going in for a dip. It was good to take a wander around the location and see something that I haven’t seen before before but I soon headed off to the next location?
Thanks geono. for the cache.

Found on 24th September with Pippa the geopooch and Crafty Dusty who never logs her caches . Too crowded/noisy for us to go for a swim this time around, but very interesting to look at nonetheless
Thanks for the cache geono!

Pa and I have been camped here for a couple of days soaking in the pool a couple of times a day. This morning I also did the nearby Wetlands walk. This is certainly a great place to rest up. Thsnks for yhis cache geono. Answers have been sent as requested.
TFTC enjoyed a dip and the company of friends. First stay in the park but sure hope it doesn’t rain.
Out with Geowife Dora the Explorer. I had a quick dip as we had to get back to St George before Roos starting jumping onto rds. Dora submitted answers.
We had a quick stop here as had to get back to St George. Completed with Phil Serenity who is pictured in the pool. Thanx for showing us this place. Lightning Ridge has a great pool as well.
Exploring the area and couldn't resist having a soak in the pool.

Day 4 of our epic journey to Cape York and the fourth day of our streak. We continued today after a series of easy little finds along the Pilliga Wetlands yesterday. TFTC
Hi there geono.. We're currently camped at Burren Junction Borebaths, so today was a touring day between Burren Junction and Pilliga - a pretty easy day. Answers for this Earthcache have been sent to the CO. Thanks to geono. for this cache - our find #6658.
Found by Mary and David at 1430. Knowing that this was your Earthcache, how could we go past? Left home over 2 weeks ago bound for a big family reunion on Fraser Island, and now making our (indirect) way to the Clear Waters Mega. On a tight schedule today, so no time for a dip. Our thanks to geono.
We found this cache on our way to Lightning ridges.
Thank you

Our last cache for our annual christmas / new years caching road trip. This year, we did a tad over 2,700kms, visited a lot of new places we have never been or have just driven through.
Did close to 280 caches.
Endured some pretty serious heat and flies and finished our trip, 3 days early here. This was to be the last cache we did, we still had more caches planned and another 3 days on the road, but, after 9 days of extreme heat, we had seriously had enough. I think even the car, had enough, some days it almost never got turned off to keep the interior cool.
Anyways, I digress, this is a spot I have wanted to come for a lot of years, the fact that caches appeared here made it even more attractive.
My parents come here every winter to enjoy the baths.
We hopped in for a bit of a splash, even through this water is quite warm, compared to the outside temp, it was bliss.
Had lunch here after our splash, went into town and grabbed some drinks for the next leg of our drive.
Thanks so much for being part of our adventure.
Attached is a pic of the child bride cooling down.

While visiting Pilliga & enjoying the bore baths I completed your EC.
My home town is Gilgandra which is known as the town of windmills as it is situated on the Great Artesian Basin, so I was keen to complete this assignment.
Thanks for having this EC geono, in a place where we can have a good soak at the end of the day.
FP for the camping & the free spa. Most appreciated

TFTC, spent a very pleasant evening in the bore bath. Loving these artisian bores!
It does seem to be a bit of a party spot for the local young people on Friday and Saturday nights.

Staying for 2 days at the Bore Baths. Great to have an earth cache to do while we are here.
Thanks geono., will send you our answers!

Good to see these caches pop up here. I'm a regular visitor to the area and i try not to miss a dip in the bore pool when i'm up here.
We have commenced our road trip heading south to attend the Alexandra Mega Event in Victoria, but decided to take our time and find a few caches along the way.
We had no difficulty in locating the required information for this earth cache and wished we had more time to take advantage of the area ... looks like we will have to visit again when we have more time to stop and relax
Thank you geono. for creating the earth cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Re-logging. Going through my statistics for Challenge caches to complete. Noticed my stats for 8 Nov 2017 were not right - some caches not logged on correct date - causing my Most Counties in a Day and Distance Travelled in a Day to be incorrect. Plus some are in the wrong order of my travels. I need to fix it for my personal and stats accuracy.
Changed original log to a Write Note and will delete soon.

Found TFT-EC it was brilliant and for another good reason to come here.
Heading to Bundaberg as my sister in law is terminal and once done we are heading to my other sister in law in Brisbane for a while, so we are collecting caches on the way, any that sound interesting pretty much or one in each town we go through. Picked up this cache on our way through. When I was a little one my parents went to the artesian baths at *Lightning Ridge* and as we were heading this way I just had to revisit the baths adding *Philiga* and *Barren Junction* to my list. I have Aquaphobia so it was really difficult trying to quell the flight instinct. Barren Junction being the worst with the darkness of the water - it was black with no chance of seeing the bottom of the pool. It was late in the day when we arrived, found a small patch of grass in the rear corner and tented overnight. The isolation out here is so surreal.

Came today with a large group of Cub Scouts to have a soak in the bath. It was a pretty warm day, but we still had an excellent time. I will upload my photo and send answers to CO shortly.
This is not my first soak in this bath, nor by first geocache stop here!
Cheers

Lovely place to spend a night or two. Did the creek walk and loved it. Pool was lovely too.
Woohoo. Is there a FTF for an earth cache ?
We're on a small trip out west while testing out some modifications to the geo-caravan and have camped up at the Pilliga Bore baths again. A spot which we love to relax in for a few days R&R.
Not many in the pool while we searched for information relating to the questions which we have sent to the CO.
Thanks for the cache geono..
